i dont see YC going up much for a few months

But do you see it coming down ?
Also , why do you think so?

He hasn't seen the first place on the Mintpal's voting list ranking for sure Cheesy

No , he just wants to make his own crystal ball and is failing Smiley

3600BTC ....now volume is really pathetic, I think that any action will be a couple weeks after the Bitcoin Amestrdam conference.

It was like this after the bottom last summer too. People don't want to sell any more at this price. Now we just have to wait for the bears to turn into bulls again.

http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg360zigWeeklyzczsg2013-01-01zeg2013-12-31ztgSzm1g10zm2g25zvzl

If that includes the above mentioned "bears" , I don't even want to think how much we're going to wait for it.
1963  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VISA & MASTERCARD blocked Russians from accessing their money on: May 16, 2014, 11:56:28 AM
Russia gov hates everything that they can't control, like bitcoin
Well, again somebody talks about the government control while being unable to see the world beyond own nose. Sorry, but it seems very strange to me.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=525190.msg6691455#msg6691455

so what will speak louder?
Bitcoin wiki, maybe? Roll Eyes

but bitcoin can be a great way to bypass these credit card bans and USA future and current economic sanctions
It can't be the great way, because this solution won't work at all. Forget about bitcoin in the mainstream banking. Modern implementations of bitcoin protocol are incapable to achieve the required transaction rate. There are no decentralized cryptocurrencies which would be able to work as national payment system. Too many scalability issues there waiting for a solution before it will be possible. Sorry for strong language, just tired of these dreams about decentralized & full-scale international banking. It simply won't happen in the near future. It's not about hate or control, it's technically impossible right now. But, eventually, it will be possible.

Lols , so you're not just a red bear , but also a bitcoin bear Smiley.
1964  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 16, 2014, 11:54:52 AM
Why is it that bulls speak so emotionally and inappropriately while bears speak so calmly and rationally?

1965  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 16, 2014, 11:49:47 AM
Another thing that annoys me is that when I write "Inevitable crash" I get 3 responses within a minute stating that I am pulling predictions out of my ass. While in the meantime if for example Chessnut predicts "CCMF" with his EW analysis (which he hasnt the slightest idea about), people are already like "CCMF" etc.

And from where are you pulling your predictions?
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MEOW] KittehCoin Relaunch IS HERE!!!! on: May 16, 2014, 11:46:49 AM
Best tactic now? Buy at 2 satoshi. If the coin spikes you can sell with profit, if it doesn't there is still plenty time to sell back at 2 satoshi.

Best tactic now ? Wait for the stupid to buy at 2 satoshi and dump them. Buy back when it's 1 dogetoshi Smiley.

More airdrop payments very shortly, I still have lots of applications so keep applying if you already haven't.

How about you post the links to the premined address so we can all see the "payments" ?

This coin is still alive?
Net hashrate is 1 Th/s. So I believe yes, it is alive.

Pretty interesting it's still getting that much , a bit weird to my opinion.

In your opinion , just mine and hold any coin we have and in two months we will all be rich Smiley.

He's already working on some other coin , I'm pretty sure.
1971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DOPE] DopeCoin - Heartbleed conquered! Digishield performing perfectly! on: May 16, 2014, 11:38:35 AM
I agree the coin needs to be moved off scrypt algo. The cost, noise and heat generation compared to other "gpu friendly" algo... you wouldn't do it. I certainly won't mine scrypt coins anymore, its a waste of energy. People are more conscious of being energy efficient these days so I think it would be a step in the right direction for DOPE's image.

I've mined a few of the GPU friendly algo's and I personally found Groestl to be one of the best in terms of energy consumption, noise and heat generation as well as stablility which is important. I could let the miner run for a week without having to worry about checking it or rebooting the rig every day.

As for POS... I like the idea of POS as its very energy efficient, but at the moment its a bit of a fad movement like country coins were. Lots of POS coins popping up because the idea is great and they are popular. However I think following the trend with POS would be a wrong move at least for now. I think emerging POS coins are seen by experienced cryto investors with the view they are just trying to ride the wave created by the coins that pioneered POS to snatch a quick profit, adding nothing new or of value to the crypto world.
It would be bad for DOPE's image if it were bundled into that category of coins.

As for lighting a fire under DOPE and off the launch pad... well that's going to take some innovative thinking from some peeps with a sound understanding of the crypto world and where its headed. Devising and implementing industry changing features that will set the standard for cryptocurrency architecture, functionality and security.

One of the problems I can see with crypto currency be accepted more widely is its willingness to be accepted by retailers or as payment in general. I think a big part of this is due to the crippling volatility that all coins experience due to market manipulation in various forms. Finding a way to stabilize the value would go a long way to gaining acceptance as a viable form of payment.

No mean feat I know.

Second problem is scammers. Designing a payment/transfer system that keeps payee and payer honest would go a long way to help peeps feel safe using DOPE to both buy and sell.

I guess crypto's face all the same issues security wise as digital fiat so maybe looking into how these issues are managed and go from there.

Again with the mining.  Look like miners have got their union here too.
Mining is irrelevant for a coin.

Without people using it to buy sell stuff it can be so miner friendly as it can , it will still die.

1973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | cPoW | PC mining | Stability on: May 16, 2014, 11:33:44 AM
It is kind of sad watching DRK have such a nice rise considering:
1) QRK was way more fairly distributed and
2) Quark algo still remains ASIC resistant due to its random rounds whereas X11 with its simple linear design already has FPGAs working meaning dedicated ASICs are available anytime someone thinks it is financially worthwhile (ie likely now).

Quark (and Quark based clones..) remain the best coins for distributed decentralized individual mining (as opposed to centralized corporate ASIC mining farms that have already or are in process of taking over SHA, Scrypt, X11).

Quark really made multiple hashing revolutionary, so many clones including darkcoin. quarks time will come, it just needs a trigger, it could be Bitcoin rising in price, ShaqFu coming out, Shaquille O'neill talking about quark, www.qex.la delivers, quarks dev making a sweet update, other projects that come out etc.

You guys are delusional..

Having ASIC's after a time is healthy, as it lowers the chance of the coin being forked and ruined by someone with enough hashpower. While Quark is very ASIC resistant, someone with a few million could easily destroy this coin and lower it's value to Nothing by doing a 51% attack...

Having many people distrubeted with ASIC's incredibly lowers the risk of a 51% attack, look at Bitcoin for example. You'd need hundreds of millions to attempt to get 51% of the haspower.

Sorry Quack fanboys, but this coin has no purpose and is useless, it can be forked/destroyed extremely easy by someone with a few million and evil heart, and its price shows that...

^ darkcoin bagholder shill barking on other coins, it's a common tactic to protect their own asset. You guys give dark a bad name thats for sure

No...I survery all coins equally, there is no bias.

Quark truly has Nothing to offer...I'm being 100% true and up front with this. It's extremely low price and huge sell orders, and huge lack of buy orders show that....ASIC's are healthy for a coin after a while.
Quark can/will never get far, Because it lacks the ability to be used by ASIC's.

Also, as the difficulty in Quark progresses, it will/already is extremely unprofitable to mine it..

What a joke. The message of Quark is simple - fast and secure for everyday transactions, this is its strength and it's an easy sell. For all the press about Bitcoin everyone skates around the issue that it is too slow for point of sale transactions. As for ASIC's, it is another rat race with no benefit for people using the currency, and it makes the whole crypto community look stupid and wasteful from the outside. Do the ASIC farms mining Bitcoin make the network perform faster, or more securely? No, they don't.

Yes they do Smiley.
Those asic farms make sure no 10 yo with 1000$ on this father cc can buy a botnet and play with the chain as he wants Smiley.
So , what is protecting quark against this kind of attack?

1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ★KillerCoin★ | ★★ v2.0 Mandatory Update | OpenSSL 1.0.1g + DIGISHIELD ★★ on: May 16, 2014, 11:27:25 AM
thread seems to be dead, along with trading which is a shame Sad

Seems like the killer got killed.

There are a couple of us who have been fighting to keep it alive. It would certainly help if people would be willing to take a risk and make some buys on the exchanges where it is listed: ptopex, bleutrade, and europex. KILR is selling for 1 sat each on all three of the exchanges, so it's not like anyone would be losing a huge amount of money. Only a few dollars worth of BTC could make a decent impact and possibly spur some interest in the coin.

Interest? If you search for interest based on price rise , that interest will be gone in a few days.
This is not the way to make a successful coin.

Price hype? Remember aurora?

It's better man not a lot of people know this coin we can buy cheap

Start at 30 satoshi it is perfect for me i will eat every Qora

Qora is really similar to NxT
Qora is not Nem, so much hype for nothing

Doge cap is 80 000 BTC.
NXT cap is 75 000 BTC.
At 30 satoshi Qora marketcap will be 3 000 BTC

So, at 30 satoshi per 1 Qora I'll take a loan to buy it.

I've heard of many stories like that on this board and a few of them didn't went that well in real life

Does anyone on here remember the last figure for Mintpal voting?

I've just voted again (last time a couple of hours ago) and noticed we've dropped down to 102, from what I believe was 94/95 position.
I know for certain we were a hell of a lot of votes ahead of that abomonation of a coin Aphroditecoin, and yet now, we're only 1 position up on it!

Short of every other coin between 94 and 102 voting like mad within the last 90 minutes or so, something's very fishy here!

https://www.mintpal.com/voting#NLG

Yes, something happened with Mintpal votes, it dropped from 94 to 102, weird... is it worth it to keep voting for mintpal if they going to remove votes?

Mintpal is a really good exchange and the fact NLG is basically top 100 is really good considering it wasn't around when there was cheap votes and not much btc votes have come in. It's a lot harder for new coins to climb the ladder without massive amounts of btc being thrown at it. So fact it's top 25% in less then a month is really really good.

Do they really remove votes, or does the position of NLG just drops because the other coins get more votes?

We need someone with deep pockets.. that can buy us on top of that exchange Wink.

Rather than bribing mintpal for votes it will be better to offer some incentive to merchants accepting the coin.
This way price will grown , demand also and we;ll have plenty of voters
