The match is done and dusted for Poor Bongs. They just needed wickets of Dhananjaya and Kamindu Mendis. Surely, it wasn't an easy task to get them out cheaply. Back to back tons for Dhananjaya and the latter also inching towards his consecutive ton.
Lead already feels like Everest and now every run from here is harassment and should fall under human rights violation.

Things are moving too quickly in this test match so i think it won't be an understatement if all affairs wrap up quickly within the next 4-5 sessions.
For SL, 5 wickets are still in the piggy bank but if we go by their 1st inning performance then I don't think their tail could move the scoreboard much so they would again expect Dhananjaya and Kamindu to contribute with the bat. Bongs must try to restrict them under 250, tough but not impossible with SL's tail. Bookies are offering some nice odds for Bongs, might throw some lunch money after 1st session if things become interesting.
Sri Lanka lead already is 211 runs and they have 5 batters still to come. It won't be possible for Bangladesh to restrict Sri Lanka to 250. Seems like Sri Lanka might be able to give target of around 300. Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets for 57 runs in first innings while in second innings they lost 5th wicket at score of 113 runs. Bangladesh always have such mine fields for the test matches, there must be some better pitches for the test. Those top order batters are already in the dugout and we shouldn't forget in the first inning Sri Lankan went from 258/5 to 280/all out. Still, there is a chance that they could reach the 300 mark but it mostly depends on Skipper Dhanajaya and Kamidu because so far, only these 2 scored a ton in this match. No complaints on the pitch from my side.

It's more like a hit and miss case.
In IPL, most of the players are not really keen on reading the ball from the release or off the pitch they just want to slog it over the fence everytime. Some players get success too with this technique by dancing down the track and not letting the ball to speak while few masterclass spinners use this as an advantage to keep taking wickets. This is why Rashid khan is deadly bowler in T20 but less effective in longer formats of cricket. It applies to every batsman and the format hardly matters. Surely, It's not related to the IPL or T-20 format per se. Batters were always playing the false shots, it's just we now have a new fancy word and definition. If we look at it, then it's not very different from -Getting beaten on the inside/outside edge or not timing the ball-

This is first time I saw wk talk this much, wow Rishabh Pant you are making DC feel lively. It's good to see passionate Punjab crowd as well.
I also have a question, I heard commentator saying something along the lines, "Kuldeep making batsman go for false shot" — what do they mean by that? And how does bowler do that?
It's more like a hit and miss case. For example, if any batter tries any shot like cover drive, hook, pull etc and goes with his/her usual body motion but gets beaten by not picking bowlers or only manages to get an outside-inside edge to cover, slip etc. From a batting perspective, the fewer false percentage shots, the better. It's the opposite for bowlers, the more you make the batter to commit false shots against you, the better.

NGL Impact player rule made it very tough to predict anything because for the most part, even playing XI is not fixed and tactics change dramatically in T-20 cricket. There is virtually no requirement for genuine all rounders. You can just replace any player for an Impact player.

I don't remember much about last season but please someone enlighten or remind me why it had to be RCB vs CSK as IPL's opener. Usually, it's fixed for the last season finalists, right? I might be wrong here but still I like to think it's because of Kohli-Dhoni's popularity. Very much possible scenario but a big league like a IPL should follow such tactics when a full system is in place. Still can't figure it out what happened here. Am I only one feeling DRS is real quick this time around?
For wide reviews, it's a simple process, in comparison to wickets. They go with a usual routine for wicket review and check everything like front foot, ultra edge, ball tracking.

Listening to Haryanvi's commentary and mixed feeling so far. They are mixing dialects but love the overall vibe, sounds connected to the roots and targeting the base.
Sehwag sounded a bit off though but it can happen because he grew up in Delhi and got mixed up with Delhite Jaat and Gurjar's community.

2 runs out and 1 wicket fell to a spinner. The seamers claimed the rest of the wickets.
It seems like a script of some test in SENA, but it happened in Bangladesh, which is quite a sight. Even if the pitch plays the same or starts deteriorating, the Lankans have their nose ahead in the game and should fancy their chances. After all, Bongs are batting last.

This is the first time they have loaded up a green deck in Bangladesh, hence the 3 seamers in the playing XI. It hardly happens in the Bangladesh home test series. No wonder Bongs opted to field first and seamers didn't disappoint the skipper.
But the current partnership is going strong and saved a Lankan from a big first day collapse. RR is also very healthy which is not a good sign for Bongs.

I think the local broadcaster already has all the rights, after all even FAN CODE bought their home game for the Indian market.
It's just that the Bangladeshi broadcaster (Main provider of feed) keeps failing to strike a deal with Australian broadcasters like FOXTEL or SEVEN Network and even for the English market (SKY, etc). This could happen due to incompetency, foreign broadcasters don't want to pay much, or maybe Bangladeshi providers are asking for too much money.
Yeah, I agree with you. There must be something wrong with the main provider of feed. Or this issue would not have persisted in the men’s side of cricket at the very least. A few years back when Australia and New Zealand came to Bangladesh, they had not been able to sign a deal with Australian media or New Zealand’s media channels. The possible reasons for this could be many, but they need to solve it as soon as possible. Because this might hold the Bangladesh team back in the future from getting to play with teams like Australia and New Zealand in the future. Playing this bilateral series are too important for a growing team like Bangladesh. Not aware if it happened with New Zealand too but yeah, in recent tours it happened with Australia and England. Now i think of it, the latter 2 cricket boards (CA, ECB) hardly host Bangladesh and rarely travel there for bilateral. When 2 teams rarely play/ not traveling each other regularly then it's hard for broadcasters to sign a long-term deal because Usually, broadcasters buy a full package (Home series Men + Women) and negotiations can go south for one-off series because both parties want to squeeze each other for an extra penny.

The sad affair of Women's cricket continues. Not sure if anyone is aware of that but this Bangladesh W vs Australia W didn't attract any broadcasters.
It's not the first time Ban vs Aus series messed up due to no broadcasters and I don't know who's at fault here BCB providers or the Aussie broadcasters, but they ended up streaming the match on YouTube and possibly a full series. For Indian viewers, it's on FAN CODE because they had full media rights for Bong's home season.
I give partial blame to BCB. We have seen even in men’s cricket BCB were not able to attract any foreign broadcasters previously. Only the local broadcasters go to BCB because local people watch the game. That is why a part of the blame falls on BCB’s side which handles these broadcasting stuff. But I think the rest of the thing has to do with popularity. Not many people, especially in Bangladesh, watch Women’s cricket. So it is not surprising to me that they could not even find a local broadcaster to show these games on Television. These will take time, especially in a country like Bangladesh. Dhoni vs Kohli! What a way to kickoff IPL 2024. This is most probably Dhoni's final season which is probably why CSK is playing against RCB instead of GT in the first match of the season.
It will be interesting seeing both teams play thanks to several new additions. Hope MSD bats in the middle order instead of the lower order this time around.
Aha, it's still Kohli vs X, Kohli vs Y. I feel bad for Faf lol, even in some footage I've seen from the RCB unboxing event it looked like Kohli took center stage, which is technically reserved for the captain. Also, news is coming up that Gaikwad is the new captain of CSK. Thala will fill out the entertainment quota.

Good on you pakhitheboss. Consider me in, I'll try to be active here. Just a suggestion, you could use an official IPL site for the info, instead of espncricinfo, quite a useful site for all sorts of stats, venues, squads etc. https://www.iplt20.com/matches/fixturesUsername: JSRAW Segwit Bitcoin address: bc1qxgpk5zul5rj8harqdexf9xkl5e37uyk63s6w7w

Makes sense. The New Zealand men's team produced high quality cricketers over the years despite the small population and some of them proved to be some of the best gentlemen cricketers ever. I don't know much about the New Zealand women's team, but they will produce more quality cricketers too with time just like their male counterparts. Rugby and Netball get a cream and the one who failed to make it into these 2 sports gets into cricket. of course, some genuine interest is there in women's cricket but it's not in bulk. They have more or less the same problem in Men's cricket but they are already producing fine cricketers with limited resources and a fair amount of players from SA(including from India) do prefer moving there, it helps the cricketing system.

After the T-20 series loss Bangladesh's skipper said that Sri lanka never recovered from the so called "time out" incident. He was referring to the Shakib-Mattews controversy followed by Srilankan's celebration of "Timeout" after winning the T-20 series.
And today Mushi Babu did a cameo during the ceremony, which was funny for the neutrals but not for the Bangalesh's skipper, if we go by his previous statement. I love it anyway lol because it's damn funny.
Well if I remember correctly, Sri Lanka also did something after winning the t20 series. They pointed at their wrists while celebrating. And I think it is actually true that Sri Lanka really never recovered from that psychological hit. Sri Lanka is also taking Bangladesh as the number one rival in my opinion. It was started by a Bangladesh seamer in the 1st or 2nd T-20 match when he got the early wicket, SL won that match and the T-20 series, then they reacted with the time-out gesture in return. The Bangladeshi skipper's remark was correct but then comes a most senior member of the team Mushfiqur and does the same and proves his skipper wrong.
