Well, 5 down at the end of the day would've been great but lost 3 extra wickets, The 217 lead is healthy but India could've finished the game by out batting England completely.

The last 3 wickets of Jurel, Jaddu and Ashwin look bad here. Jurel should get the benefit of the doubt but Jaddu and Ashwin's dismissal looks bad and it felt like Ashwin forgot how to bat, not a good outing with the bat on his 100th test match.

Ben Stokes picks a ball and gets Rohit. Anderson picks Gill, Gill's shot rather looked lazy to me, and him smiling after looked like he gave away his wicket, idk. Comment your opinion.
Both were good balls.

Ben Stokes picking up the ball was a bit of a surprise package for Rohit and we have seen countless times that after break batters need to concentrate again, that's a good time to pick a wicket and the ball did just enough to take the top of the timber.

Jimmy just did his usual thing and the ball reversed for once, Gill's lack of footwork didn't help his cause either.

~snip~

Bashir's aggression was unwarranted as there was nothing impressive in the delivery but ok wicket is wicket  Grin
The way Jaiswal cunted him yesterday and showed virtually no respect for his bowling, so it was an obvious human reaction from Bashir, i don't mind such a response from bowlers but tbh that particular delivery wasn't any special and Jaiswal was probably high on adrenaline and threw it away another ton.

----------------------------------------
India are bossing atm and the scoring rate is 4.5 rpo  Roll Eyes

Too early but if India bats a full day with only 4-5 wickets down then we are looking for an inning win.

BTW, Dharmshala outfield looks beautiful, it looks like it's decorated with boxes.
Ideally, BCCI should go ahead and pitch the idea of a similar kind of outfield in major cities and Stadiums. If not 15-20-ish then at least go for IPL cities. It will only improve the fielding standard for Indian cricket, even in the domestic arena.

England messed up for like the umpteenth time while Barmy army are focusing more on the beautiful vistas of Dharamshala than their team which itself says a lot if you think about it.

Jaiswal's consistency in the test format these days is truly extraordinary. Am expecting the Indians to end up giving a lead of around 100 or more.
Madlad is scoring runs for fun, it's looks like a belter so would've been great if he had stayed there for a long haul with another daddy 100. Guess he'll grab the Man of the Series award.

First day batting track, You've won the toss, batting first and you were 100/1. From there you still managed to bundle up cheaply. It was poor show from the English middle order, they struggled in this series and today's performance was no different. Wonderful bowling effort from India, the pitch is good to bat on but never judge a pitch until both teams batted at least once.

Bairstow must be the worst player to play 100 test matches.

Fascinating first hour of play. England are lucky to go wicketless, the way Bumrah was bowling there were lots of ooh, aah and ouch from the slip, bowlers and batters as well.

The pitch looks too good to bat on despite record swing and seam because of the high altitude. Would be a crime if Poms are not touching 400 in the first inning.

Notorious Indian management manufactures Grin another injury, just to drop Patidar lol. Could be a genuine injury but the management's record is not great in this regard, hence the doubt.

Atm this deck looks like a fine road to me. Can we expect big score in the first inning, very much possible IMO.

Some serious questions on the third umpire, The dude went full retard and bias without hesitation or maybe he's shit at his job.
Soumya Sarkar nicked it obviously and had a sound but the third umpire reversed the on-field decision to not out anyway. BAN vs SL matches keep giving meme content.
Third umpire decision was indeed questionable. I was also surprised with the quick decision of the 3rd umpire. They should have checked the ultra edge graph a few more times by changing the video timing. Non-striker batsman, Litton Das also told Soumya that where the bowl has touched. But the 3rd umpire decision was surprising. There could be a little pressure on Bangladesh batters if it was given out, but it wouldn't affect the result of the game. Bangladesh has won the match very comfortably.
True, the way Bongs batted, they would've won easily and Soumya's dismissal wouldn't be a big issue.

It's just, this sort of decision leaves a very bad impression and Poor Sri Lanka faced this shithousery twice in one month ( Hasaranga faced a 1-2 match ban after criticizing the umpire's decision).

Today we have the second match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The first match was won by Sri Lanka by just 3 runs, as they overcame a strong challenge from the relatively unknown Jaker Ali. Dasun Shanaka managed to complete the last over without much damage. But today, both the teams will be charged up. Bangladesh made a 200+ score chasing last time and that might have boosted their morale.
Agreed. Bangladesh came a lot closer than expected after their top order collapse which is becoming a trend these days with almost all teams. Mahmudullah also deserves praise for supporting Ali effectively.
The last match was a typical Bangladeshi chase. Fumble at the start, then build up and keep fans engaged with hope, and finally give up a match from the winning position. Good fight, no doubt about it but they need to develop a habit of getting over the line sometimes. You can't be an underdog for 3 decades.

Also, Lankans will be worried with the performance from Matheesha Pathirana. During the last match, he went for 4-0-56-1.
Very true. He still has a lot of potential, but he definitely is no Malinga.
Bro tried his best with no balls and extra but sadly fell sort lol.

Did you even watch the recent India-England tests? None of them were one-sided so far thanks to twists and turns on a regular basis which entertained a lot of viewers across the world.

For example, everyone thought India would win the first test, but England literally pulled off a heist. Am not expecting the final test to be one-sided for these reasons.
The first match was competitive, the scorecard suggests that (28 runs winning margin).

But 2nd and 3rd matches were competitive in patches only and the winning margins were 106 and freaking 435 runs (their biggest defeat in 100 years). It was a similar story for the 4th test match, Poms had their moment but failed to strengthen their positions when the Indians were down.

Overall competitive series and at times they raised the bar by putting tremendous pressure but now we have enough data that BAZBALL can't sustain for long against top teams like Australia and India, especially in the 5-test match series. IMO BGT 2017 was better.

^^ Not a series decider so yeah but as far as WTC is concerned it's not a dead rubber per se because 12 points are on the table. From England's perspective, points won't matter much because they are already lagging but they would prefer 2-3 scoreline, instead of 1-4.

India needs the remaining 12 points because they have a tough tour of Australia.

Australian tour would be interesting for sure. At this point, Australia are struggling at the 3rd place and there is a large gap between them and India. But then, Australia has one match remaining against New Zealand. And the 5-match series against India is towards the end of the year. Before that they don't have any other test series. This is a bit surprising, given the fact that Australians usually play more test matches compared to the other teams (the only exception maybe England, and perhaps India).
Ah well, I think this time they will spank us because we are still in a transition period, and for Opener Jaiswal or maybe in the middle order Sarfraz/Jurel it would be their first Australian tour.

Every team is playing 6 series (3 Home + 3 Away) and this is the 4th series for Australia. After that international schedule is packed with IPL and T-20 WC. Also, their home season kicks around Oct-Nov, which plays a big part in their cricketing schedule.

RCB vs UPW turned out to be one of the best matches of this season as I predicted since both teams have performing well in all departments except the fielding department in recent times.

One thing that the WPL taught me is that the male cricketers are far superior when compared to their female counterparts in the fielding department.
IMO that's a very unfair comparison for obvious reasons and it shouldn't become much of a talking point unless mixed teams become a thing in the distant future.

How do you mean by mixed team?

Mixed 4*400 meters relay race, mixed double tennis, badminton etc.

Right now this sort of development in cricket looks unlikely but who knows, what the next 50-odd years hold for the cricket community so the jury is out.

Overall in the fielding department, mainly local talent is goofing around in every single match and looks inferior to foreign players. At times, it's funny and disappointing as well but they will improve as WPL matures.

Excellent resistance and comeback from the Bongs.

At one point i thought the match was done and dusted but Mahmudullah-Jaker Ali duo changed the tide. Now it's Bangladesh's game to lose, I hope they cross the line for a change.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka has become a spicy rivalry for quite some time but I think it's time the Bangbros must start to reply to the opposition with their skills as well.

Shithousery and taunting opposition might add some value to 2 mins insta reels but in the end performance matters most and the result going in your favor should be priority. Be a better performer with bat and ball, not the best sledger.

Vidharba playing on familiar territory so the skipper Sai Kishore and support staff could've done a better job of reading the pitch. I can understand Tamil Nadu's confusion because it's a away game for them but not for Vidharba.

Pitches are spicy and batters need patience to survive so no complaints from my side. Only following TN vs MUM because wanted to see Iyer but missed it, now will wait for the day 2 highlight package.

TN vs MUM is getting spicier and to be honest Mumbai added over 200 runs as lead that too scored by 8th, 9th and 10th wicket pair from 106/7 to 353/9, Lord played like God in this inning. Wink

TN was looking good in this season but their hope of winning Ranji after 35 years is getting thinner, any anti climax or MUM is going to the one.
Well, so far it has been one sided affair in TN vs MUM and there is a slight possibility of Mumbai not batting again unless Tamilnadu puts up some show, otherwise Mumbai will head for finals.

On the other hand, Vidarbha vs MP might turn into a thriller because there are no big differences in the scoreline.

^^ I believe the recent bias of winning WC and the big price tag might have played a big role and put pressure on management which finally led to this decision.

Cummins is good but not superior in the T-20 format and if he fails to deliver with the ball then I strongly believe that he won't fit in 4 foreign players spot in the playing XI.

Just saw this on Twitter, people criticizing BCCI because Ranji semifinal is being played in some random ground In Mumbai, although it looks great, but BCCI can to do better.

https://twitter.com/BCCIdomestic/status/1763771503399870602

I also find that bit funny when Sai Kishore is asked about why he decided to bat first, did he look at pitch and he replies with yea but didn't understand it lol
