1021  Other / Politics & Society / What happens in the government if Bitcoin takes over? on: June 12, 2014, 07:42:28 AM
Most governments get their money from taxes. If these become impossible to collect, how will the government support itself? They would no longer have control over any currency. Would BTC taxes have to be enforced? Should an alternative be sought? How can a government survive without money?

I'd like to see people's opinions on anything related to this, as I feel that most forum members are better versed in such themes than I am, and I'm open to what everyone has to say.
1022  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Net Neutraility - cancel your subscriptions, even if just for a month on: June 12, 2014, 07:39:55 AM
Oh, no, I wouldn't say most households in the U.S. have access to only 2 or less providers. Most people I know have access to quite a few of them, but their prices or speeds are just ridiculous and there is always only 1 more or less decent one that provides coverage where you live.
1023  Economy / Services / Re: [GET PAID] $1 per free registration at a forum and % of the site profit! on: June 12, 2014, 07:33:33 AM
How many shares total? You need to know what % you would be getting. For all we know, you could just create more shares out of nowhere, therefore decreasing the value of each share.
1024  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Blockchain Virus on: June 12, 2014, 04:48:37 AM
I would be suspicious of your install. I use Avast! and I have never gotten any warnings for either Armory or Bitcoin-Qt. Make sure you are installing from official sites.
1025  Other / Meta / Re: Post removal on: June 12, 2014, 03:48:11 AM
Your topics are being removed because you're posting altcoin announcements which are translated using Google Translate or similar tools that yield miserable results, i.e. you are better off posting in hieroglyphics if you want to be understood.

Pro-tip: If you get one of your posts or topics removed, it probably means you shouldn't be posting it again.

BTW. Thanks for reminding me of that PM, and I apologize for forgetting to respond, if you don't get a response within 3 days, it often means it's buried amid other PMs.
As ban evasion is a bannable offense, this account, too, will be banned.

Pro-tip: If you get one of your posts or topics removed, it probably means you shouldn't be posting it again....

I don't understand that way of thinking ... if you are not allowed make any mistake why you ask for apologize ?

malevolent apologized for not replying that PM in reasonable time, but not for removing the posts.
I think he meant that malevolent asked him for an apology on his part... but still he didn't ask for anything.
1026  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your plan in case of an alien invasion on: June 12, 2014, 03:02:15 AM
Heck, I would join them. Can't you think of all the tech they would have that we don't? It would have to be quite impressive considering the fact that they got to us way before we could get to them.
1027  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin Accepted! ★ SSD Los Angeles & Buffalo ★ Weekly Backups ★ Instant Setup on: June 11, 2014, 09:47:08 PM
Should the price go up while we have them, would our monthly bill go up as well?
1028  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Steam Gift Store~ Got over 200+ Diferent, New & Updated Games [Want] Paypal/ BTC on: June 05, 2014, 06:50:20 PM
Far Cry 3 was at a $5 discount not too long ago. Are you selling it anywhere close to that, by any chance?
1029  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Bitcoin Dice Script PHP Only 0.005 BTC on: June 05, 2014, 06:16:16 PM
3$

Seriously guys , if you need a demo to buy a 3$ script , you really shouldn't be thinking of starting a gambling site...

Just take a gamble. I'm pretty sure nobody would scam for 3$ and you can ask him to go first if you have a trust rating or two.

1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Runoff Poll: "ubit" vs "centoshi". Which should be the rival to "bit"? on: June 05, 2014, 02:51:18 AM
we know the technical terms; the whole idea is find non-technical terms.
Microbitcoin is the full technical term, microbit is the shorter casual version. There's no need for anything else.
If you are thinking something different won't come up, you are quite wrong.
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of cold storage do you use? on: June 05, 2014, 02:03:09 AM
Doesn't saving a paper wallet in a computer defeat its purpose, though?
1032  Economy / Services / Re: [BTC 0.01] BTC Guild signature card to show off forum stats as well as yours ! on: June 05, 2014, 01:59:43 AM
Apparently it's against the rules to do certain things here, who knew in a self moderated forum lol. So ya, anyone wanting to ever use this signature better not do here or ck will come and get you.

Even if no one ever decides they want one for their own stat's, they can still use mine to display block info as seen below.
[SNIP]
It's very nice, but it amounts to including a signature effectively in the body of your message which is against the forum rules if you include it in every one of your posts so please stop doing it.
Forum signatures don't even support images at all, so you won't get banned for it even if you try. More on-topic though, I don't see why this would be useful at all considering the fact that what you are charging is way too much for something that takes perhaps 10-20 minutes to do with an API. Besides not having to pay, you can also customize it however you want if you do it yourself as well as not being limited to a 5-min refresh. Also, if you use these images in these forums at all, they won't refresh because of the image proxy.

EDIT: To the person above, it's not that simple. These images update automatically, although I don't think they are worth the money still.
1033  Economy / Services / Re: Selling 6 AdSpaces for 0.03BTC **Permenant Placement** on: June 03, 2014, 09:11:47 PM
The fact that you are trying to sell them forever implies that you don't believe you will support this project too much or that it will be short-lived. Besides, in my opinion, the price is way too high for a faucet.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Approves Bitcoin Wallets on: June 03, 2014, 08:53:46 PM
It is really simple. If you like Apple's products you buy them. If you don't like them you don't buy them.

Both sides are free to comment and share their opinion though.

I have no problem with opinions. Some people tend to resort to insults and this weird sense of superiority when others make different decisions than them. That is where I have an issue.

Well we cant do anything about them but hopefully they will learn how to conduct themselves other time.
While I do think this is a problem, I think the major one is how off-topic the discussion has gone. Sure, some may relate these discussions back to bitcoin, but a few of the posts actually have absolutely nothing to do and are just a fight between Android and iOS.
1035  Other / Off-topic / Re: What did you plant this year? on: June 01, 2014, 07:41:50 PM
I which I were gardening. It just feels like you actually accomplished something productive in one of your hobbies. Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to start doing so but am looking forward to eventually begin.
1036  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Raffle for forum accounts!!! on: June 01, 2014, 07:08:57 PM
This user is scammer don't trust him. See detail in trust rating of him.

i think the trust ratings are just for trading accounts which (surprisingly) is not against the rules on this forum.
It's not surprising. It's done so that we are aware of who is buying/selling. Also, trust is in no way attached to forum rules. They are two separate entities.
1037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to $680. So obvious this is a pump. on: June 01, 2014, 07:06:54 PM
Dumped.  I suspect a pump and dump.
Back up to $640-$650. It's jumping all around at this point.
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you wish satoshi to be anonymous forever? vote on: June 01, 2014, 04:40:11 PM
Forever is a lot of time. I voted "no" because I'd like to know it somewhere after his/their death, and I thing we'll actually know.
This. If he were to be discovered before of that, I would hope that it is through his own will, though.
1039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What kind of cold storage do you use? on: June 01, 2014, 04:37:21 PM
So, I am kind of at a loss of what cold storage method to use. I've noticed each one has its own pros and cons. For example, a paper wallet requires no memorizing and works completely offline, but if somebody finds it or if you lose it, you're screwed. With brain wallets, if you forget it, you're screwed. USBs and SD cards are essentially the same as paper wallets except electronic. I would like to know what are some good cold storage methods people have come up with and why they work better than other alternatives.
1040  Other / Off-topic / Re: Web Hosting Questions on: May 31, 2014, 04:38:04 PM
When it comes to finding a GOOD web host, ignore the price and look at the way support staff responds, I've learned this the hard way, if you go with a cheap webhost and you start making tickets ( which you will inevitably have to at some point ) and the support staff don't read them properly and just start giving you standard replies, dump them immediately.

I had to deal with shit for several weeks once and it turned out that it was just them being a shitty company, part of the problem was that they wouldn't even read my messages and started arguing with me all the time, I ditched them, moved to a new one and everything has been running great since.

You can normally tell a good webhosting company from their support staff and how the company communicates, actually, I think that applies to most companies these days.
This is arguably the most important thin too look for in a webhost. It feels great when support answers to your requests in less than 20 minutes. I also think that there is no need for formalities unless you are an enterprise host. For example, I always feel welcome when a reply has a smile in it. It conveys the attitude of the support team in a better way. But hey, that's just me.
