2401  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 8x Satori Coins Serialnumbers >22750 on: September 14, 2018, 07:12:18 AM
Why wouldn't it be?  At one point everyone starts off as a newbie.  My ebay search for Satori coins brought me here.  If we need more rigor around valid bids and users, then posting messages on a forum for a timed, online auction is probably not the most secure method.  There's still over a day left for anyone to post a higher bid.  So, rather than questioning if someone else's bid is valid, feel free to post your own bid if you're interested.

Reminds me of a certain Cascoinking ...  Roll Eyes
That was a malicious user who bid on his own auctions with alt account to drive the item price up, and seller didn't sell to 2nd highest bid.

I'm not saying this is what you do, but that bid from an account with only 3 posts is questionable.
Since it outbids bill gator, I asked, what are you going to do about that ? Are you going to accept the 2nd highest bid in case this user doesn't reply ?
What will you do to prevent this kind of abuse ?

We trust you, the seller, since there is an escrow involved. All the rest is questionable.
I'm not accusing you of anything, just trying to figure out how this will end.
2402  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 8x Satori Coins Serialnumbers >22750 on: September 14, 2018, 12:29:50 AM
0.052BTC

Is this bid considered valid ?
Given the rank of the bidder, this bid should be secured to be considered valid.
Or maybe OP, do you agree to sell to 2nd highest bid in case this one isn't honored ?

2404  Economy / Reputation / Re: marlboroza - about the red trust - Nel.network fake team on: September 13, 2018, 08:18:05 AM
You shouldn't receive red trust for something like this as long as you stop everything related to the project as soon as you're notified/you found out.

I have the same opinion. The flame focus should be on the malicious project, once discovered.
Woshib stopped all activities with them when as soon as this has been brought to his knowledge.
Also, he is managing a couple of other, legit, bounties and he's good at it.

I think this negative feedback should be turned to neutral.
You can't humanly monitor every page / paragraph, and check every day if there have been a change or not ...

What Woshib did here by withdrawing from the agreement is the expected behavior after the issue has been brought to his attention.
There is no malefactor association here, and Woshib helps to spread wealth to some people taking time to translate things and do stuff.
In the end, all balanced out, is the negative feedback really the way to go here ?  Undecided

2408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Simplest Question: Where do I deposit my US$? on: September 12, 2018, 10:28:12 PM
In fact, you do not put $$$ "in the system".

You need to download a bitcoin wallet, such as Electrum (https://electrum.org/) and then you need to buy some bitcoins on an exchange.
You will pay with real money there.

Then, you will be able to withdraw these bitcoins from your account on the exchange to your wallet. These bitcoins can then be sent to any address that belongs to whatever seller you want. Smiley

However, I highly advise you to read a lot about how to safely store your bitcoins if you start investing serious money into it.
Get yourself a Trezor or Ledger wallet. Smiley This will save you a lot of hassle especially if you are a beginner !

Can someone clarify (not that it is imminently important), due to the serial numbers of these coins does that mean they do not have Bitcoin Gold?

Anything higher than serial 30500 doesn't have BCH and is considered "postfork".
I don't know for sure for the rest of the forks but I think prefork have Bitcoin gold / Bitcoin Diamond / etc etc ...

Just tell them to withdraw the amount from your balance and you are all set Smiley)

P.S. This is sarcasm. The reality is that you will never see a single satoshi from this scam site.

Yep. Unfortunately, looks like you'll never get a single satoshi from there. Do not deposit any further ...

^^
This alone breeds scams and deceit.

Yes, but how does it work?

Didn't know that the Bitcoin Forum has an Escrow Service?

Can you explain me how the transaction work?

There is a couple of reputable members willing to hold the funds for the time of the shipping.
Once the transaction has been setup, the buyer sends the BTC to the escrow, so seller knows the funds have been secured.
Then the seller ships the goods, and when buyer confirms everything is right, the escrow releases the BTC to seller. Smiley

You'll find more info and a trusted escrow list in this thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=133931.0

2416  Economy / Lending / Re: BTC 0.2 Loan!!! on: September 08, 2018, 07:17:29 PM
I'm pretty sure I have known them for a terrible loan repayment history. I can't find the related threads now
You know why??? Because I repaid, even if late, but I repaid...

You should understand that, this fact alone makes any potential lender worried about giving you a non collateral loan.
Did you communicate to the lender about your inability to repay in time, maybe to ask for a loan duration extension when it happened ?
2417  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitPot.io the first Bitcoin live jackpot ! on: September 08, 2018, 06:51:08 PM
I can't register. Sad

All I get is "Password must be [1-9 a-z] 6 - 26 chars long."
My password has letters and numbers, and is over 6 chars long. What's wrong ?
I tried several passwords but nothing does it.

EDIT : Oooh okay. Figured it out. Can't use UPPERCASE in your password, but it must have numbers AND lowercase letters. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
EDIT 2 : The game is cool, it works well. Smiley Sometimes it will say I don't have enough credits to bet but as soon as I refresh, it's good again.

Overall, the concept is nice. Smiley
Good luck to your project !

The faucet prints aren’t matched up with the sn’s on the xmr, however that doesn’t mean there aren’t occasions where they do. The faucets are totally random.

Allright. Any number will do, really. I had to ask since matching sets are so rad. Grin
I love them and I think they're great gifts. Smiley

Just paid for my order for wallets #7, #11 and #22 !

I won't comment any further on this thread after this reply, given how you mix everything up in your replies, as I try to clarify what happened here.
It's kinda unproductive. You should be honest with yourself, question yourself, and try to understand what's going on.

I understand this may be surprising to discover that you have to pay something to get a prize you won, but let's solve this, not make it more complicated.

consequences of my actions ? Cheesy

Yes, consequences of entering the contest and winning the prize. This isn't your kid, or your dog, that logged onto the forum and by coincidence took part in the contest, right ?
You should have thought of what will happen if you win. Not knowing this shows that you have very little experience with receiving expensive items from abroad.
On the contrary, if you already knew this, why entering it ? Since you knew you'll have to pay at some point.
Why making all that fuzz for a mistake you made ?

I were in talk with Frank why there is custom taxes on something free and so and is he available to cover them consider thats a giveaway on a free item and it should be totally free.

Frank is kind enough to gift this item to the community, this shouldn't be his work to look up the legislation of your country. It should be your work to do.
Your customs services will explain to you why there is a tax on an item you got for free.

If Frankbitcoin should or shouldn't pay import taxes, is another story.

The direct consequence I see to this is Frank not doing this type of give away anymore in the near future, or at all. Or excluding a whole bunch of newbies / jr. members / members ... from entering.
Anyway, all this hasn't done much good to the community, and there is nobody else to blame but yourself, Rambotnic.
And you try so hard to point at anyone contradicting you like owlcatz, TMAN, and now me, so people won't understand that at the origin, the mistake was yours.

EDIT :

And do you actually agree on that kind of attitude against person who admit he don't have money on the moment to collect his own free winnings ?
What i did wrong and to who ?
Is "asking" now days and negotiating with someone is something suspicious ?

1) Yes. The bottom of the message is right. The shape of the message is open to discussion, but I agree with the bottom of the message.
Because, why entering the contest in the first place if you don't have the money to collect your winnings, considered as valuable by your government, that you got for free ?

2) You did wrong to the rest of the participants, by not being able to collect your winnings. You did wrong to Frank, who now needs to spend additional time in the context of that giveaway, to reply to you, find a solution, and apparently needs to gather informations about your country customs policies ...  Roll Eyes

3) Asking is not the problem. Entering the contest without knowing what will happen, is the problem. You should have known what you're up to by winning, and never have asked anything more to Frank in the context of this giveaway, certainly not to spend more money from his own pocket because of your lack of knowledge about your government customs.
2420  Economy / Reputation / Re: owlcatz racist, spamer and liar on: September 08, 2018, 03:15:56 PM
I am actually surprised there is any costs because that's not sale and not sure how customs want to put any taxes on gifts.

As I understand this disagreement, this is it.
You should have thought about the consequences of your actions, like what winning the contest implies for you, before entering it.
If you paid for the item or not has little significance when it comes to pay import taxes.

If someone gifted you a Tesla car in a foreign country, you as the owner, would have to pay import taxes, tariffs, to your government based on the value of the item being imported, when it crosses the border.
That has nothing to do with the fact that you paid for it, or no. That would be the same if you drove the car yourself from a foreign country, and taking it home. You are free to leave it abroad too and never pay import taxes.

At some point, if you want to keep it at home, you'll have to register it officially with your government services. And this has nothing to do with the fact that you paid for it, or not.

You also need to understand that some people may be upset because of that. Now, you are unable to retrieve the item as there were 15 more people wanting it.
Given that, a neutral feedback stating "Trade with caution" doesn't seem inappropriate to me, since you are unaware of how custom works for your country.

There's no one to blame here really. Mistakes happen. This is how we learn.
I'm pretty sure that the next time you'll be looking to trade, you will keep this in mind :  the value of the goods is declared on the custom forms, and you need to pay tax on the value of the item you import.

Now about the topic of this thread you started, owlcatz is nothing of the names you call him as far as I know.
