As you gave a quite detailed and authoritative response, are you on the Monero team, marketing or otherwise?
Good marketing is crucial for mainstream-facing projects. A bad-written marketing plan, caused by a ill-conceived strategy, is often the main reason for companies or projects to fail or under-perform. On the other hand, done right Monero can here achieve sustainable competitive advantages, over other coins (now and in future).

I am no team member, just a community member with a background in marketing & strategy consulting. I really want Monero to be successful. So I decided to help the people responsible, to ensure Monero get's all the strategic planing, methodology fundamentals, know-how and ressources needed, to be efficient and successful in marketing work.

This proceeding (research, creating a strategy, which will be the foundation of any well-written marketing plan, the marketing plan is needed to make reasonable decisions concrete marketing actions) is best known strategy and long-term proven, well-documented, absolute standard in marketing science and corporate practice. So it's pretty safe to say Monero will use this approach.
(Would be an error and huge waste of potential not to do.)

Marketing actions will start, after Monero has its fundamentals fully developed & tested (Database, GUI Wallet, stable RPC API, ...) and the coin/software is really ready to use.
Which will be in around 6 months, if no bigger development problems or delays come up.

Don't worry about marketing or things like corporate communication, public relations work, CRM-efforts and related tasks/functions.
They will be managed and operated as perfect as possible.
Moneros marketing will be managed with long-time proven & successfull marketing key concepts & techniques. There will be an (reviewed) marketing strategy [1] based on research and analysen, to serve as the fundamental underpinning of the to be created marketing plan and the instruments used in the marketing mix [3].

[1] = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing_strategy
[2] = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing_plan
[3] = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing_mix

And as nobody is perfect, the marketing team will be open for feedback and suggestions from the community, the targeted audiences or extern experts.
If everybody works hard, we all collaborate and share as many ressources and informations possible: Monero will get best possible marketing and as experience has shown significant outperform all competing projects.

jehst:
I think you should do more, deeper and real research on cryptocurrency in general and the altcoin enviroment (incl. at least trying to understand technical backgrounds and how to rate the devs and community behind a coin) before trying predict chances of success of so many different coins and technologies, you talk about in your post.
You made alot very general statements, mostly without giving any reasons for your argument.

To me, it looks like you read some general altcoin news pages and some threads here and now repeated some standard arguments, you heard there. You didn't mentioned any kind of (simple) scientific instrument or methods of analysis you used during your research work (to create valid arguments and reasonings). Some stuff you wrote is ridiculous incorrect and shows you don't really know what you are talking about.

BTW, a currency lives through usage, no coin will just survive on being an "catastrophic hedge" against an BTC failure. There are other tools and ways to do that.
I think this catastrophic hedge-scenario isn't even worth discussing. (It was discussed in 100.000 threads before here on this board. Just research there.)

(No personal attack or hate, just a comment    to improve level of discussion.)

Your newsletters are very extensive and they contain floods of (unstructured) information, with (very) different degree of importance.
Some (or alot?) readers will have difficulties understanding the quintessences & central points of your messages, because of this Information Overload.

I suggest to offer a shorter variant or improve your newsletters texts, by stating more precisely, substantiating, excerpting, linking to additional infos (instead of including in Newsletter, ...) etc. To get better results with your project communication.

This coin is abandoned, see the OP. Dont waste your time here, support a CryptoNote coin (of your choice) that is alive and vivid.

So is this the real reason Monero has been declining, XMR insiders making a deal with BCX so they can buy time to sell their bags?

The public hasn't been aware of any such deals.
Yeah, obvious. Thank you very much for uncovering it.

e-coinomist: Because the total revenue/transaction volume on the Dark Net overall (all DN businesses, not only drug trade) is huge. Many people estimate its gonna be $1.000.000.000 this year with an rising trend upward.

Shojayxt (and Bobsurplus) have been extremely detrimental to DRK and crypto in general. Although he does offer some valid points of view and things to consider, he is now running the classic "Yes, so I said those things, people change, people alter their views. Now can we just get back to the important stuff, discussing DRK?" then weaves this "holier than thou" ethos throughout his postings in an attempt to shame people who're determined not to let the memory of his destructiveness die.
What is this? I never heard of Shojayxt and Bobsurplus before. Who are these people? Why talk about them?

jehst: Ok, now I understand.
If the public opinion at DeepDotWeb, /r/darknetmarkets and TheHub-forums changes towards Monero. Monero will be "required" and become kinda of an Dark Market-standard.

Unicorn: Some of the (older) admins/owners are still very, very stupid (SR2).

837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 27, 2014, 01:52:44 AM
Lax is an understatement. These guys use their real e-mail addresses for purchases. They don't seem to hide and encrypt their laptop partitions. Unencrypted wallets. No multi-sig. They don't seem to care much about security at all. I suppose that people with normal risk tolerances and normal paranoia would simply refuse to operate those kind of websites in the first place, so there is a selection problem. The people with the necessary personality traits are filtered out at the start.
All major markets use Multi-Sig-Escrow today. Most require user PGP-key for communication.

Your infos are out of date. Get updates at http://www.deepdotweb.com/ or https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/

The scene made a major step towards security, they (all sane scene members) wont allow markets with at least Multi-Sig. They today prefer as much OpSec as possible.

Mt.

Release the Kraken

(axk)

Someone should/must compare the included Monero Windows binaries with the officlal ones.

The .au3-script in the archive doesnt get dectected, see:

But still could include malware-function or misbehave.
