1081  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen to global economy when crypto becomes global currency? on: August 26, 2018, 02:08:57 PM
If and when cryptocurrency finally becomes an official global currency, how do you think it will affect the global economy and the economy of each countries? Will it help improve the economy better than fiat or will it still need help from fiat?
Do you mean like used by everyone and considered to be currency of each nation instead of stuff like dollars and euros ? Because that can't happen anytime, not now, not 10 years, not 100 years from now.

No money can be the official money of any country, they NEED to all have their own money. Even euro zone is having trouble for having one currency because while some try to fix the economy the others are trashing it and creates some type of resentment and anger between countries, look at Greece and Germany for example. Hence I think its IMPOSSIBLE for bitcoins or anything else to become a world currency... ever.
1082  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money on a long-term period on: August 26, 2018, 04:44:08 AM
Biggest spending I have found I was making was the luxury foods. By luxury I do not mean just ordering in a pizza (which is still more expensive than just eating at home in my country) but I mean going out to dinner somewhere. You can basically spend 4 days food worth of money on just one dinner somewhere. Hence, if I stay at home and not go out to dinner frequent I could save a lot more than I used to. You can still go out to have fun but just get a cup of coffee instead of eating out. That plus spending money on junk like chips and chocolate bars or whatever combined creates a huge cost for me.
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Exit scams have stolen more than 100M USD on: August 25, 2018, 01:10:24 PM
Honestly I was expecting a lot more. What constitutes as "stealing" on this scenario ? Is it just the coins that created an ICO and blatantly just took the money left ?

Because, I know couple of coins that have been doing the "look like professional real company" route and still just worthless and horrible coins and still not considered "stealing" because they are not out there saying they took your money and left. The only difference between companies that really stole your money from ICO and the ones who basically stole but never admitted is that one is searched by the law departments and the other is considered a bad investment.
1084  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Rejects 9 Bitcoin ETF Applications Whats Next Target of bitcoin? - 23 Aug18 on: August 25, 2018, 06:56:17 AM
Just a stupid question : why bitcoin-etf should be USA based and why not it could be issued from some other country ?

I just wonder why all people are trying to get approval only from USA and why not try in Japan kind of bitcoin legalized countries ? If Winklevoss brothers try to trade bitcoin-ETF in Japan, it will not get enough volume ? ETF thing is only country based ? It cannot be traded online to have more traders world wide ?

When bitcoin ETF in some small country like Latvia or Hong Kong where it will be easier to convince the government to get approval even the expected volume will be lesser, it could set example for USA to approve the future ETF application as bitcoin-ETF thing will experience the real life scenario which is still lagging and SEC is still taking its decision on imaginary future problems.
1085  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent bullish Bitcoin price predictions on: August 25, 2018, 03:51:43 AM
Well thanks for sharing. This are just a guessing from those people and all of us has our own prediction. It's better to have our own research about this technology for own good not just rely on no basis prediction.
Yes, big thanks OP for consolidating all the predictions into one single slide. It is easier to compare one with other so that we may conclude something our own. John Mccafe's is a long term one and due to the next halving by 2020, I am also expecting one million dollars by that time. But, we are all excited about the future whereas we all still need to worry on what bitcoin is having in short term. I just come across another thread here like the bottom on current market yet to happen by this September. Anyway, I need to face as I do not have any idea to sell off my big bitcoin savings.

By this year year, I still believe about having a new ATH hence $25,000 probably may happen by December of this year. If that will be happening then 2019 will copy the markets of 2017. Then obviously 2020 will be an exciting year as halving may happen at that time which may launch bitcoin prices into one million dollar too.
1086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Investing on BITCOIN for 1 year... Will it good or bad? on: August 24, 2018, 06:21:08 PM
What will happen to this market within a year...? Investing on BTC was great on last few years. But if we invest on these days for a 1 year, will it gives a good profit or not?
One year seems a good waiting period but if you are able to extend it for another one more year then there will be plenty of chance to get your capital doubled. I am talking about the very least possibilities. Like many people here, I am also expecting a new ATH before end of this year. If that will be happening then you may not need to wait even for 6 months compared your concern of one year waiting.

It is important how much you deposit for a year. you do not have to think if you invested a low number. ignore If you made a high deposit, you might be hurting at the moment.
I guess for both big and small investors, the current market situations are really a frustrating one as potential losses are always a big concern for any level of investors. But buying now at current price levels and waiting for one year will definitely make anyone richer as we all expect a new ATH by end of this year or at worst case a new ATH may happen by first quarter of 2019.
1087  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [ASK] The price of bitcoin to always decrease? on: August 24, 2018, 05:13:02 PM
What causes the price of bitcoin to always decrease? If the price goes up just a little later falls again, and will bitcoin when december go up or even fall deeper?
It is not always going down. Sometimes it goes up, like a month ago or so bitcoin prices went above $8,000 and it was party time for everyone here and everyone started to start topics about how "bitcoin is going to $50,000 at the end of the year", lately it has gone down again to $6,000 levels and now people are afraid that it will go down to $4,000 or so and now we are seeing how people think "bitcoin always decreases", it is not.

You need to see how bitcoin moves, it does not move sideaways it moves up and down, sometimes it goes down you are right however sometimes it goes up as well, it doesn't stay at the same number for a long time, specially comparing to other investment methods it has a lot more upside than downside.
1088  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Centralized vs Decentralized Exchanges - Which ones are better? on: August 24, 2018, 04:07:02 PM
More and more Decentralized Exchanges are popping up, but are they really what they are hyped up to be?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-xA7p9NbdI

I think the concept is great, but at the moment they are really hard to use because of constant downtimes especially on IDEX and EtherDelta. What are your thoughts on this?
Honestly it is not about one is better than the other, they both have their own good parts and bad parts. A decentralized exchange like shapeshift will allow you to keep your coins on your own wallet and this is a lot better for security reasons but you will have to have your own wallet on your pc or somewhere which creates added work flow and you can't use bots or whatever on stuff like that.

However, on centralized places you are basically trusting the exchanges with your coins and they keep it for you but you do not own the seed of your wallet which means you are basically not the owner of your coins, you are just at the hands of that exchange however it is easy to just simply buy and sell directly which makes it faster. So it depends, one is good on security, the other is good on fast and ease of use.
1089  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too many new Exchanges on: August 24, 2018, 03:18:39 PM
Recently i was working on a project related to Altcoin listing on different exchanges. Strange i found out too many new exchanges and people are trading well over there. Don't you guys think there should be limited number of exchanges and regulated ones? (Many new exchanges are nicer too and competitive but there is always a trust issue there specially for new investors). Your thoughts.
I think it is great that there are new exchanges. You should of course take a look at what you are investing with a care because you can't really invest into something that will yield a bad result.

Do not put your money in an exchange you do not trust and never hold too much money in just one exchange, try to diversify your money into multiple trusted good exchanges so even if one of them tries to do something shady like lock your account (even the most trusted exchanges has been known to do this) than you can just continue with others because you were diversified. If you put all of your money (and if your money is like $100k+ or whatever) than you are destined to lose all your money. Specially new exchanges. Keep a low number that you won't care if you lose it in exchanges that are new to the market.
1090  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make money when the market drops? on: August 24, 2018, 02:38:53 PM
Not easily but sometimes. Since the market is going down AND up, sometimes I make money from it, sometimes I don't. I have bought a trading-bot and one of my friend helped me set it up and make it the way I like and now on great markets as you can assume it is making great returns and yields awesome profits (tho you probably can do it yourself too I don't know trading well so I am grateful about that) and when the market is bad, it never sells at a loss, it waits, sometimes market recovers and I make a profit, sometimes it goes down and I do not make any profit for a long time, its about patients with it, if you are patient, in the end you profit from it.
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fastest Dice Site? on: August 23, 2018, 05:19:34 PM
Depends on how much you bet. I think if you want to bet small numbers than weird coin places are the best, on moneypot you can bet with garlic coin or there are places that you can bet with dogecoin and so forth and if you want to gamble like couple cents a bet than they are the best for you.

Moreover, if you want to bet proper amounts on each bet than you can go with primedice because they have been around for a long time and when you bet over 10k satoshi they are the fastest I know. They give you a latency on smaller bets because they do not want to be getting organic ddos attacks from everyone betting 1 satoshi constantly (which happened in the past so they put a defense system in place).
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling vs. "leveraged" trading on: August 23, 2018, 03:29:44 PM
Once you put in your money into something and you will earn in return from it. I think it slready called gambling since you do not have the assurance the return of youre money plus the profit unless you are too lucky but most of the time youll ended busted. In my opinion both can be considered as gambling.
Well, that is one way to put it but in another way, you really cannot compare gambling fully with trading but you can compare yourself trading to you gambling based on how you actually perceive trading. If you are trading with no strategy and all you do is gamble the possibility of where the position may fall to, then you are actually gambling, and in most cases some people with no knowledge even end up using a high leverage. Trading can be done with knowledge and that is what makes it entirely different from gambling.

I guess we had big topic here about gambling with borrowed money. I guess that has no big differences from leveraged trading.
Thank you for reminding us. The common thing among trader and gambler is, they always prefer to learn their lessons only from their own experience. Sadly, no discussion here may not helpful to both of them, Sad.

Become OneHash E-sports MVP and win 0.5 BTC!

Between 20.08 and 23.09 for every 0.001BTC you wage on e-sports, you get a point. The player with the most points at the end of the promotion wins the TOP PRIZE of 0.5 BTC!*

More info:
https://www.onehash.com/mvp
Hoooolly moooly, 0.5 bitcoins? That is over 3 thousand dollars right there, and to top it off you only need to wager and you can win there as well, there is no "for every 0.0001 you spent" type of lottery, you can literally gamble and WIN and still be in this. I wish I knew esports better, unfortunately I have no idea who these people are, some of them I just heard but never actually followed, otherwise this would have been an insane opportunity. Will you do something similar for NBA one day ?

I really would love to join in on betting on NBA games and have a shot at 0.5 on top of that Cheesy This looks like such great chance to both win (if you know the games and teams well and everything goes unexpectedly) with wagers and than some. My god how I wish I knew esports a bit better.
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Short term trading altcoin on: August 23, 2018, 12:06:07 PM
What do you think which is the best altcoin for Short term trading? I like to get little profit. That means, suppose I bought a altcoin at 500 satoshi, after 1/2 days I will sell 520/550 satoshi. That's small profit. which coin is better? I also thinking about DCT. What do u think? Share please
You may go for anything as long as they are all profitable to you. Short or long term trading with either bitcoins and altcoins will be good if you are able to make some profits consistently.

Personally and over the years, I have always preferred the idea of long term trading than holding or short term trading. The fluctuations will always be there and all the corrections, so trying to take advantage of the long term possibilities of trading the fluctuations with trend changing is one thing I have always stuck to than holding. Holding is good and no one should get me wrong, but that should be when you do not have the trading knowledge.
1095  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL is not advisable! on: August 23, 2018, 07:08:58 AM
HODL is used when referring to hold the cryptocurrency rather than selling it.
Holding cryptocurrency is no good because it means you don’t have a knowledge about trading, for me, you can do scalping trading and increase your holding by it and gain profit.
Holding is not a big science nor skill and your explanation on what is holding is not anything different from what people from this community is already doing for months to year. Scalping may be profitable but definitely cannot get you big returns as much as what holding may get you in next two years. Holding may sound too hard in this down market but when bitcoin market turns into positive market then you can expect more bigger returns for you capital.

I suggest that all in the Crypto community must learn the basic trading fundamentals. There are free tutorials anywhere. Don’t be lazy, think big.
Trading is good and developing skill for trading and then entering for trading is always good but timely decision making and following trend of market and finding right entry and exit points are the thing which is not possible for all the people as these tasks may consume lots of your time. Hence simply holding bitcoin is highly easier way to make big profits.
1096  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best investment Crytocurrencies in the market? on: August 23, 2018, 04:46:16 AM
the best investment in cryptocurrency is bitcoin and bitcoin is the lead of the cryptocurrency and the other coin is adjust their price with bitcoin so bitcoin will be the best of cryptocurrency. maybe the other coin can be a good investment too but if you want to make a big profit, then bitcoin can be a good choice. but you need to have a patient to see bitcoin price increase because, at this time, bitcoin was in the down price so it will need time to increase higher again.
After bitcoin, there could be hundreds of other best investments are possible and still available in this crypto markets but OP kind of people will never find them and will never get benefited from them, I am afraid. Yes, they are depending upon other people to choose/find the opportunity but the hidden treasures are not being referred by this community most of the times, people will refer what they are holding or what they have heard.

I mean to say that only own research may get us the best investment opportunities of this crypto world. If we could not find time for finding one then we may miss them out very badly. I like to list the past ones : viacoin, lisk are this kind. They were available for very least prices but hit 1mBTC levels too. Spending time to analyze is the key here.
1097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For this reason, wouldn't ETH be the future of all crypto? on: August 22, 2018, 02:43:15 PM
It makes ethereum really important and quite the king of all altcoins and even make people use eth-alts on exchanges instead of btc-alts but still bitcoins huge affect on news media and papers and almost everywhere type of reach is so high that it would require a lot more to catch bitcoin than you might think.

For example people who get into ICO and invest into some new coin with their ethereum tokens and what not are already interested people, they know bitcoin, they know ethereum, they know what ICO  they are investing and so forth, they are already in the market. However there are a lot of people who have heard about bitcoin and never heard about ethereum in the world, the elderly and the unitiated all heard bitcoin but not eth.
1098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price resilience on: August 22, 2018, 12:38:06 PM
Following the rejection of BTC/ETFs this week, bitcoin price fell by $400 which sent the price a little below $8000 .Many started the normal panic thing, today,I woke up only to discover that BTC has strongly hit 8.2k .This made my day as the price is telling us that BTC has greater potentials than what the SEC is thinking. I know one day the ETFs will be a reality.Sooner than we expect.Long live BTC and crypto.
Bitcoin was down to its last bits. I am seeing the chances of, from here on people would buy as much as possible, if whales push really hard they can make it go down even further but after certain amounts its harder for them to drop, dropping from $12k to $10k is still $2k but its harder than dropping from $6k to $4k. There is a lot more resilience here than there.

Hence if you really wanna drop the price for your "short futures", you would need to have a ton of bitcoins to sell in order to drop the price and you will face with millions of people who are trying to gather your low price when you are trying to do that. Its really risky for even whales.
1099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Aug 23 ETF Deadline... on: August 22, 2018, 10:35:34 AM
Sell or HODL before Aug 23? Thoughts on the impact of the BTC market ? Will it be approved or rejected...?

Hmmm...

I am a believer in HODLING... been doing so since the market crash... but if it is rejected, won't it have a pretty nasty impact on the market?

https://www.coindesk.com/sec-faces-thursday-deadline-for-proshares-bitcoin-etf-decision/
I say hold for now, bitcoin is already quite cheap comparatively speaking. And we do not have any ETF right now to bitcoin's name so if etf gets rejected that means we still don't have any ETF with bitcoin as well. Nothing changes in our life it gets rejected. Moreover, if it gets accepted that means there are BILLIONS of dollars put into bitcoin which will increase the price insanely. So there is actually nothing bad that could happen with this, either we continue as we already are, or we go up, not downside. Considering price is also insanely low than there is no reason not to hold, even buy more at this point.
1100  Economy / Speculation / Re: No rise in the price of BTC in this August 2018 on: August 22, 2018, 09:06:15 AM
Very bad news for BTC holders. BTC price is not moving upwards in August 2018. Looks like the rest of the days of August will be in downtrends for BTC price chart. The red is dominating green for all altcoins. Looks like another panic month for longtime holders.
Just as this was posted the price went up like 10%. This is bitcoin, sometimes it stays the same sometimes it goes up or down.
We should already be getting used to the volatility but also the stable-ish ways of bitcoin sometimes. Yeah sometimes it goes up huge or goes down huge but we had like couple of years at around 200-400 dollar range, YEARS , so one month with no real movement is not a huge deal for anyone who knows what bitcoin does or does not.

If you really want some wacky chaning quickly all the time type of investment, just invest on some casino as the casino bankroll (couple bitcoin casino websites allows you to be house), and watch as some people lose millions and some win millions.
