1061  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin Crashing? on: August 31, 2018, 06:16:20 AM
investors do keep watch on the market and will wait till the right opportunity to buy again, those who sell bitcoins at a low price nust have been new to investing or had already made a lit of profit, but by looking at what is happening now, real investors are on a vlose watch of the market and  are waiting to buy in anytime they see fit, and it should be backed up by real news and not just FOMOs.
Oh yeah, no investor will be tampering with getting into a market until they are able to see a clear signal of participating in the market and this is how most institutions operate. For now, we cannot call this a crash and this is just a downtrend. Only if people know the extent of the word crash, then by now, we would have been as low as $100 even. Nevertheless, this is a great opportunity for anyone who is smart and has been looking for a way to get into the market all these while.

This is the "beauty" of bitcoin. You can start writing about how the bitcoin is crashing and even before bitcoin reaches to dip and before the topic becomes 5 pages, bitcoin rises again.
That is usually the nature of every market and no market is ever stable. It is this volatility that makes it very interesting for traders and always looking forward to it every time. Stability is obviously something we cannot see with the decentralized nature of the market, as well as the fact that even if we are going to see any serious stability, it would require a huge level of demand and usage properly as a currency for payment than just a speculative asset.
1062  Economy / Economics / Re: New report on wash trading scares me on: August 31, 2018, 05:43:59 AM
Hey guys, so i've read a new report on how much of the exchanges volumes are just wash trading and the numbers are way too high for what real users do>.

This is pretty concerning, since the market might not be nearly as stable and mature as we think, it might all be manipulated.
What do you think of the current state of big exchanges and price manipulations that we experience?

my source: https://www.blockchaintransparency.org/reports/

Everything in this world is being manipulated by some powerful people out there. So, the crypto market is not all different from it and it is more prone to manipulation since it is decentralized.
Agreed, we may want to hide away from it, or possibly just not decide to pay any attention to it, but the fact remains that one way or the other, the big cats are always around the corner, squashing the small rats. Manipulation is even more prone in a space where regulation is not even available, and everyone is pleased to do whatever they like without any repercussion at least for now.

Some of the things we get to see here are just some things we cannot see in regulated markets obviously. The volatility is still there anyway, but I guess it is still one of the things we will get to contend with for the mean time.
1063  Economy / Economics / Re: Government should implement blockchain technology to prevent corruption. on: August 31, 2018, 05:12:17 AM
Blockchain is a good technology that will be use as a tool of transparency to every transaction being done. The government should know and develop a system like this on their system. This will eradicate corruption or transactions being made under the table because there will be a transparency on every transactions and how much money is involve. The budget of the people will be obviously utilize to its intended purpose. Would you agree with this idea?

We can't expect our government to promote blockchain for the sake of transparency due to some of them if not all are corrupt and doesn't want their transactions to be transparent to their subordinates.
Transparency and accountability has been one of the major challenges being faced by most underdeveloped and even some developed countries.

For so many countries, development has been lacking because of how corruption has dug in so deep into the root of the system and to be able to get into play, a technology that would disrupt a lot of things, fold their hands and put it into place as well as bring about some huge level of transparency and accountability, it must start from the top, which we both know will be hard to achieve if those there at the helms of power are corrupt themselves.
1064  Economy / Marketplace / Re: about the price of cryptocurrency on: August 30, 2018, 07:38:08 AM
Electronic money market is in a downward trend.
Cryptocurrency can be called that way but there are existing electronic money that was established by the banks and their respective partners. And how can you call that crypto's are on a downward trend?

Guys don't just look to the market starting December 2017, it's a long way to go for the market for this correction but it has been up compared to the same month.
That is one possibility that seems more like a hard one to place.

Bitcoin will always have the first movers advantage, like it or not, and except for the market maturing the more, and some of the coins that have product start experiencing some good level of demand based on the fact that they are being used in real life, the speculative nature of the market will keep making it like this.

Nonetheless, this does not mean it would just come that easy for any altcoin just to take the place of bitcoin. Remember we have just two set of coins in this market, bitcoin and altcoins. Selah!
1065  Economy / Marketplace / Re: For god's sake, stop lestening to mainstream Media and wake up people... !! on: August 30, 2018, 05:05:17 AM
You have stated op that banks are blocking crypto, which is totally depends in your country.  In my country they are actually slowly adapting the idea of cryptocurrency and accepting payments with sister branches, for example i can use my bitcoin (but need to be converted to fiat)  to buy something online, with my account number in a certain bank.
Banks cannot block cryptocurrency even if they attempt to make the activities surrounding it a frustrating one, but at the end it is really a war they cannot win.

That aside, listening to mainstream media is never the problem, but acting on everything that comes out from the mainstream media is where the problem really is as this is what a lot of people do when it comes to news, which most times are just a means by some group of people in partnership with these media outfits to play with the market to their own favor since it is a decentralized space anyway and no one is holding them responsible for it.
1066  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens if a stable coin is in high demand? on: August 29, 2018, 04:20:59 PM
I don't know how we can call bitcoin a decentralized coin when we can just print out tether like crazy and buy bitcoins or whatever we want with it and than call it different than regular bank controlled dollar or euro ?

I mean if we can just print tether whenever we want, than we can simply just print out 100 trillion tether today and buy as many bitcoin as we can and spike the price of bitcoin to insane amounts and than call bitcoin successful, that doesn't make us any different than 2008 banking crisis where they print out 800 billion dollars. We should try to limit stable coins and their owners trying to adjust the price by hand, people should be doing that themselves looking at the value of it, not the other way around.
1067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop SCAM in the ICO market on: August 29, 2018, 08:36:02 AM
No matter how great you think your algo will be, in the end it is your own opinion that will matter on the subject and it changes from person to person. How could you rate an ICO good or bad if you are not working inside and actually know if the people are doing real work or trying to scam people before they run off ?

The real question is even if you can how would we as the people who are checking the source know if you got paid by the scammer ico or not ? We don't know you, we have never met you, why would we trust you as well ?

A person who trust ico rating system of a stranger might as well trust the ICO as well. There are a lot of issues with the idea, trust being the foremost and opinion being the second. I believe no one could stop scams in ICO markets but we need to strong up our research and analysis so that we could avoid such scams and choose the right ones.
1068  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it going to pass $20k again? on: August 29, 2018, 06:59:31 AM
I think it could be 50 000$ and even more - it is very interesting and revolutionary asset which is limited. But this and next year it will not reach even 12 000$ because booms do not happen so often.
Yeah, it can even be more than this, but what is the point trying to assume things that are possible when of course we have seen how the market has played out in the past and the possibilities of seeing developments that could sprout the growth of the same market once again, most especially if it has to do with real demand.

Nevertheless, this is not something that should be expected anytime soon, considering we still have a long way to go in the number of resistances above us and the need to break them, before we can even get to see such move, with all these things taking time.
1069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying more: XSPEC or MONERO? I love both as Trader :) on: August 29, 2018, 06:07:44 AM

I use to have XSPEC because I have bought some of it on cryptopia, it felt really great when it spikes sharply. XSPEC will have a lot to grow but you'd have to also see that popularity of XMR will also get you more profit. Is there any merchant right now that accepts XSPEC? I have no idea right now but I see monero to be stronger in this aspect.
XMR may actually get profit and for those trying to play safe could be a safe spot to invest in but I do not expect it to have so much movement as the case may be anyway, considering it would not skyrocket as much as XSPEC may end up doing due to its very smaller market cap and the fact that it is the kind of market that gets to go pretty fast on the way up than the likes of Monero.

Anyway, all these are just assumptions as the market can decide to go as it pleases, and we may think to see x3 with Monero, and then see even more. I have been watching monero for years in poloniex but I have never observed any big movements with it but it was being traded rock-like solid and now it is trading above 0.015 BTC unlike litecoin or etheretum who were all crashed out in recent times.
1070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GHOST MONTH!!!! on: August 28, 2018, 04:59:17 PM
Well, this was funny! I don’t think that it is connected with the month August and the market condition. Market can fall or rise at any time in a year. It’s not just only the month August!
Apparently, a lot of people always tend to find some explanation to why something is happening at every point in time. I am not against anyone's belief or religion, but I feel all these kind of superstitious believes are just some man made theory that never happens and even if it does, I do not see how in anyway can be related to how the market responds at a particular point in time.

The market has been in downtrend throughout this year, so should we say from January till now, every month has been a ghost month ? Definitely not Tongue !
1071  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the Best Trading Platform for Newbies? on: August 28, 2018, 04:23:48 PM
For a newbie, you need to get more knowledge first and know the basics on how to trade. Secondly, you can use binance as a platform to start trading. You now choose to invest in long term or you day trade
That should always be the first move for any newbie. I wonder why newbies are always so eager to look for an exchange to just get into and think that is just the way to go to start making profit.

Personally, so as to be able to test one skills, I will advise the OP to try out bitmex (even though it is a margin trading platform), but at least, you will get some free bucks to practice what has been learnt to see if prepared for the real world or not. After then, we have the likes of bittrex and binance or Kucoin as the case may be to do your trades but it is important to always make sure you have the knowledge to pull your trading activities through.
1072  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to overcome my fear and how to start trading? on: August 28, 2018, 06:52:22 AM
Compared to all other FUD makes I suggest OP to actually go out and test the waters, right now is the best time to start trading because the market is at a dip right now and unlikely to go too far below, it can still go down of course this is finance but in the end there is absolutely no way it can drop as much as it did since December.

Hence, I think its perfect time to try to test the water. Some coins like nano or gvt or so has been going up and down lately, meaning the market has some movement in some places, your job would be to smell the bacon and see where it is getting cooked and when you find it before it goes up try to grab it. That way you will be ready when an actual bull run happens.
1073  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MARGIN - Yes or NO on: August 28, 2018, 06:04:50 AM
I think if you want to trade margin then you should have to know about how to be able to do the right margin in order to avoid losses because there are so many new traders who are doing the wrong step.
That is the common mistake many beginners do due to over enthusiasm. When availability of more easy capital in front of you will lead to disasters most of the times rather than enabling you to think over on how to make use of them along with your research and analysis. In summary, margin will turn you greedy if you have not prepared yourself enough.

Instead of talking about the margins there is a possibility of earning some great profits.
Why would anyone go leveraging when they can simply just invest in the market normally without the fear of completely losing their funds. Margin trading can bring great opportunities when it comes to shorting and longing in the market, but at the same time, the risk is too huge and you really do not want to be going this way if you do not have a very solid trading knowledge. The same way you can end up gaining a lot from it, is the same way you can end up losing everything.
1074  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will the Bear Market End? on: August 28, 2018, 05:24:06 AM
I think the bear market condition will stop when there is bad news, usually the price will fall very quickly because there are so many traders who panic and sell their assets at very cheap prices.
Bad news are just more like an excuse to me for the whales to manipulate the market the more, but contrary to what you said, I do not see how bad news can put a halt to a bear trend. With or without news, the market was meant to take such a hit after the huge bullish activity that happened towards the end of last year and this is just the aftermath since it could not be sustained.

Do not forget however that the same way we have it up there, the same way we are going to have it down with some missing the dip instead of buying in for the long term. No one knows when it will end, we only can know based on what the chart tells us which for now still screams bear alert.
1075  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on the LOW! on: August 28, 2018, 04:34:21 AM
Up and down is the cycle of cryptocurrencies market and if we want to make it we have to follow the market.  Cryptocurrencies market has given great return to the day traders this days because of this cycle and you can really makes it by following this cycle.  Bitcoin is on a down ward trend since January this year and we should expect more of the bearish trend.
I also share the same opinion with you. The market is still in a bearish state and like someone rightly said, though we may be in a falling wedge but the fact remains we are still in a falling wedge and until otherwise, we are still falling anyway. The market still have the potentials of going as low as $3k, but even at that, anyone can be wrong, but we should always put everything into consideration at the least.

We may be lucky to have some bullish momentum in this few weeks with altcoins, but I would still be very careful knowing the state and condition of the market. Probably, with bitcoin holding above $6900, this may be a good sign enough for the alts to have bullish activities. But, until we are having double to triple confirmation, it is highly recommended not to invest big still keep buying on dips at low amount is highly recommended.
1076  Economy / Speculation / Re: The next trend of bitcoin? on: August 28, 2018, 04:02:12 AM
we can lose everything that we have if we invesy to crypto inveetment and need to be vigilan on that. But we can get what we want also if we choose cryptocurrency.

Pumping price of the bitcoin and crypto coins are very near from now wait to happen that and you will be happy because you can buy everything that you want.
Being vigilant will depend on the knowledge of each individual but as we have it presently, quite a good number of investors in this market will always find it hard to make decisions on their own but would rather prefer to follow other people's decision and get burned in the process.

You cannot make a decision in the market without having an otherwise backup plan as well just in case things go wrong, but this is one thing so many people do not understand. We are still in a bear trend until the trend states otherwise, and we cannot know yet until we finally are sure we have hit the bottom and have formed a normal uptrend pattern with a good breakout volume.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you remember your first sports bet? on: August 27, 2018, 05:01:36 PM
I remember clearly it wasn't bitcoin betting it was regular sports betting in my country. It was years ago and at that time kobe bryants lakers was playing against celtics on the finals and I was capable of betting on lakers at the right time and I went to bed hoping lakers would win because both I wagered on lakers winning and on top of that I was rooting for lakers since I am a huge lakers fan. Well they did not, celtics won that one and lakers lost and I was sad for both for my lakers to not get the ring and plus lost money on my first ever sports bet. At least ever since than I was capable of making decent returns on NBA games, won multiple of what I wagered, NBA specially on playoffs do not make any surprises, whoever suppose to win usually wins every time.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why martingale is PURE SHIT. on: August 27, 2018, 04:31:25 PM
I wholeheartly agree. Someone finally did the math but even without doing the math we can clearly see the house edge. I mean why do people think they can win with ANY strategy when even the casinos say they have a house edge ?

If there is "house edge" why do you think you can win with any strategy, what does comes to your mind that makes you think you can win in the long run and found a "strategy" thats for sure winning. Let that aside, why would you think you can win when gambling has been around for YEARS now (even in roman times people gambled) and you were capable of finding a way to win every time or even most of the time and can come up with a profit on a CASINO.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale and Roulette on: August 27, 2018, 06:03:02 AM
Martingale is suicidal even if you have lots of money. The table limit will prevent you from martingale to a very high stake and I have seen streaks that last over ten times in a row. A better way is to wait for a trend to emerge and bet on the trend. I have better luck doing this than martingale.

Phrase in bold is true cruel reality
Martingale is prevented by bet limit

Imagine, you are a casinò.. you have many players, its easy make statistics and setup a right bet limit

What do you think about this?
It had been hundred or more times also concluded by many gamblers here that martingale works the best only in theory and when comes into real playing due to different limitations and unexpected behaviors of house, martingale is failing to produce our preferred results. I did see that many gamblers argue that 20+ losing streaks are not possible anywhere at the same time some gamblers have shared in real life also they have faced 40+ continuous losing bets.

I am not seeing any possibility for martingale to work different for roulette from dice gambling. In dicing, we need infinite bank roll to withstand whereas in roulette we must have no table limit to have high stakes. Both are impossible in real life scenarios.

In summary, a mathematical formula (here we do call as strategy) will not have different behavior just due to different environment (due to roulette gambling). Martingale and Roulette is same as Martingale and Dicing.
1080  Economy / Economics / Re: how does devaluation of national currencies affect the crypto ecosystem? on: August 26, 2018, 04:07:50 PM
as per title how you recon the market is affected by individuals in countries like turkey, venesuella, brasil, argentina, russia, china, india (etc) which currently experience major currency devaluations against the dollar? normally it would be rather common practice to hold dollars as a hedge against the central bank's fiat denominations. though in countries like india they prefer gold. so now that an alternative is present how much buying pressure would it create to perhaps affect the bitcoin trend?
Well, just like dollars or oil or similar objects, when national currencies devalues, bitcoin gets a higher value.
Houses are another example, you could purchase an insanely great huge big mansion in my country for 50 thousand dollars like 50 years ago, now that is just a salary for some people, nothing major, doesn't change your life too drastically, yeah you can pay debts and have good time and great 3-4 year run with that kind of money but nothing insane to change your life. Same applies for bitcoin, 50 years from now, bitcoin will worth a lot more dollars but the purchasing power may still be the same.
