121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The is always on gambling, never the individual. on: January 04, 2024, 06:04:37 PM
The other day someone was talking about how he hates gambling as it nearly ruined his life, and within my mind I was like, no it was not gambling that nearly ruined you it was actually you that tried to ruin your life and that's because you refused to gamble responsibly and discipline yourself by not been capable of differentiating money meant for gambling from money meant for other projects in your life.

Why do people blame gamble for their own act of irresponsibility. No one is talking about their own part in their story of bad experience's with gambling, all we get to hear is gambling is bad and a useless activity. Why?
That someone is just saying that he hates drinking because it nearly ruined his life. We all have options if we will take these things in our life, blaming something that you did because you failed on achieving the thing that you want is just plain wrong. Gambling is a vice, it can bring joy, relaxation, madness and different emotion into a person but it all differs from person to person. Gambling will be a different experience to that someone if he is responsible person.
122  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it possible to say there is no money in the bank on: January 04, 2024, 05:40:14 PM
Because your money is used to be owed to other people. so if you have a lot of money in deposits or ordinary savings. and want to take it all, the bank will have difficulty if you immediately give all your money.
So the bank will give time to provide the money you want to take maybe sent from its head office or the person paying the debt.
This is legit because I don't know if I read that here, on the internet or with my friends but it is true that they can't provide all the money you have in the bank if you wanted it all out. Why? Because banks lend your money to other people for I think loans and other things. We are talking about millions here not just few thousands of dollars because they can provide that over the counter. I you have millions of dollars on your bank account and you want it out banks can't provide you that amount.
Not just loans but there are other things that bank has which are assets that they can't liquidate. There's a high chance that the banks has money in them but I think that giving you million of dollars straight will affect them in some sort. If you have millions on bank, I'm sure that bankers don't want to lose clients like you that's why they delay it as much as they can. I don't have a experience of cashing out super big amount on a bank to the point that I need to call them before going to them but I believe that problems like this are occurring.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: January 04, 2024, 04:51:08 PM
Sometimes people are always addicted to playing gambling online and this has made them loss alot of funds, due to always topping up theire casino account with there debit card when they loose. and this usually makes them exhaust all there funds.

While those people playing offline in casino halls play with only the little money they have at hand, and that will reduce the risk of over spending. So now my question is this

Playing online or offline gambling which is more preferable in terms of risk reduction?
Casino rely on advertisements as one of their marketing strategy. I believe that this advertisement can easily hit or persuade people to play online since I'm positive that the advertisement online has some link of the casino and a gambler can easily play with ease since it is accessible as long as he has a device. On the other hand, offline casinos focuses in making gamblers stay on their casinos more after the gambler entered their casino.

I think that online casino leans more in making a gambler enter their casino and offline casino leans more in making gambler stay inside of their casino for extended period of time.

At the end of the day, it will all depend on the gambler. If the gambler is irresponsible, no matter where he play either online or offline, he will spend more and more.

It is all about the control of the gambler.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and the Masses on: January 04, 2024, 04:17:36 PM
Cryptocurrencies have come a long way since the early days of Bitcoin and we are the early adopters of this remarkable technology.  But still the mass hasn't adopted blockchain technology or Cryptocurrencies. So, As you think, How can we bridge the gap between mainstream adoption and the complexities of blockchain technology? Share your thoughts on making crypto more accessible to the general public
I was thinking that the growing popularity of Bitcoin will lead to mainstream adoption very soon but after re-evaluating the situation, I have my doubts that we are going to achieve that any time soon. There are just too many factors militating against mainstream adoption with the chief among them being the high transaction fees and delay in transaction confirmation. Imagine walking into a shop to make purchase, thereafter paying through Bitcoin only to pay fees higher than the price of the good you bought. Why will people opt for this option when they can use fiat and pay minimal fees that will be confirmed within few minutes and sometimes instantly.
I doubt that bitcoin should be use on our day to day transaction. We know the cons of it like having long transaction time and expensive gas fees. There are ways that the masses can use blockchain technology when the adoption comes, altcoins that has the purpose of being use daily would suffice it. There are still a lot of things that hinders the mainstream adoption and majority of the problem is on the legal side as of now, but as we progress, we had seen a massive improvement compared from 5 years ago. Imagine, we are now waiting on the approval of ETF on bitcoin, those are not being considered 5 years ago.
125  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Happy Birthday Bitcoin! on: January 04, 2024, 11:20:31 AM
Ngayong araw namina ang first block ng bitcoin at ika 15 years existence na nito. Sino ba mag aakala na magiging massive ang success nito at for sure sobrang dami na natulungan ng bitcoin for long years especially yung mga taong matagal na sa industriya at patuloy na naniniwala.

15 years after Satoshi Nakamoto mined genesis block

Article na yan ay galing sa cointelegraph

Ano ba ang ni lo-look forward nyo kay bitcoin sa susunod pang mga taon? For sure marami pa tayong what if at gustong makitang mangyari kaya share nyo ang opinyon nyo dito.

Hoping to see the greater future of bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency.
126  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: January 04, 2024, 10:45:13 AM
The 1,000x and 500x symbols were dropped on the first spin in the free spins and resulted in a sensational win of $7,339,107 on the Gate Of Olympus 1000 game on rollbit.com played on stream.
Over and over again I watched how this could happen.
1000% luck was on their side and I imagined that person was me. Lol

source: @rollbitcom

Have you ever experienced how to get 1000x and 500x on the first spin in free spins.
What will you do with this sensational win?
I don't know who that streamer is but is he a sponsored by rollbit? There are various allegation before that the casinos are making the streamers on using a copy of their casino to get better odds in winning. I'm not saying that this streamer is a fraud but this kind of luck is unbelievable if you ask me. Never had won that kind of multiplier for the first time, it's a very rare sight for me and I'm sure for majority of the people here.

Sorry but I'm just so skeptical on streamers who are winning an unbelievable win because our country is full of streamers that are fraud on their casino streams, just for the sake of promoting.
127  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: January 03, 2024, 09:17:43 PM
If you are a gambling person, then, in my opinion, you should completely avoid any kind of gambling.
It is easier to say than done. Gambling is a business and no casino would let gamblers stop their gambling habit as the casino makes money from them, there's always be a temptation on gamblers and it is one factor why they are being triggered to play. This is why we need to be responsible, it is hard to quit gambling but it is more possible to make someone responsible in making good decision when in terms of their gambling habit. Making a gambler quit doing gambling is just like making a basketball player quit basketball because he can get injured by playing. Everything has a risk and being responsible on what you are doing reduces it.
128  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 03, 2024, 08:26:20 PM
How does someone go about reporting a bug to a casino a still hold casino accountable to pay a bounty?

You must first be rest assured of what you're about to report for is really a big and that your fact is established on that, then you can take every necessary steps to report such through the appropriate channel which in most cases, you're expected to go through the customers support platform to report such and then when everything is made completed and verified, you will be rewarded base on what their terms of service conditions states.
do really casino has their reward for bug finder? i don't think this is mandatory
unless they are conducting a campaign just for that event but suddenly they have not
and reporting does n0t really need to be rewarding because sometimes we are doing this
to improve their site and for us to at leash have taking from the site.

It should be beneficial for the casino to try to identify errors/problems in the operation of the website or casino software. Because the financial security and profit of the casino directly depends on this. Any sane casino will offer rewards for finding bugs for white-hat hackers and ordinary users, or even organize hackathons.
There are casinos who did bug-bounty in this forum before and I think it is way back before when I last participated on a bug hunt. To be honest it is a quite happy experience while getting rewarded by the casino. That way, you will be experiencing the full potential of the casino, it's not like a penetration testing but it is fun.

Though not every casino has an interest in doing bug hunting events, I'm guessing that most of them just hire a private group to find bugs from them rather than making the community hunt it for them.
129  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Best non custodial wallet on: January 03, 2024, 07:52:25 PM
Eto yung list ng personal non-custodial wallets na gamit ko.

Long term bitcoin holding wallet - Ledger
Crosschain airdrop wallet - Metamask
Crosschain short term wallet - Metamask
Altcoin long term holding wallet - Trezor

Actually marami sila para sa iba't ibang chain like Ethereum, Solana, Doge. Gumagamit pako ng ibang non-custodial wallet like trust wallet for my mobile pero hindi palagi. It's just that one wallet isn't enough. Kelan kaya tayo magkakaroon ng one wallet for all, what I mean is the compatibility of multichain. Andami ko na din kasing private key at need mo talaga ng proper management para di mo mawala kahit isa sa mga private keys na yun.
Patunay na dapat talaga marami tayong wallets in different using no kabayan? may LEdger kana may Trezor kapa , mas safe ba talaga ang trezor for altcoins ?  Ledger lang kasi at Metamask ang gamit ko though meron din akong  coins.ph wallet pero daanan lang ng cash withdrawals ko.
Yep mas better yung ganun, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Even gumagamit tayo ng non-custodial wallet is marami paring ways para tayo ay manakawan/mahack kaya mas better if marami kang wallets for different purposes. Ang magiging kalaban mo lang if marami kang wallet is the management and of course yung expenses like gas fees from wallet to wallet transfers.

Ok naman yung ledger, wala pa naman ako na experience na pangit in using that wallet since ginagamit ko siya way back nung axie days pa. Actually mas prefer ko pa gamitin yung trezor kesa sa ledger in terms of ease of use.

130  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: January 03, 2024, 02:10:45 PM
Today is the final day to submit your entries for the contest Roobet.com | Art contest "Winter/Holiday" | $2500 up for grabs! Ends Dec. 25th. Don't miss the deadline. I already submitted my entries for all categories. I hope this time we can win some free spins. I have been participating in this Roobet contest since April but haven't received any spins. The good thing is that I have managed to win every month.

oh, haven't seen this one
I wish roobet had a newsletter or there was a way to receive emails about new contests in bitcointalk
sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the new content around...

how do you usually do?
I think he is just active on the board where roobet post their new contest in bitcointalk. You can try to suggest it with roobet on adding a email newsletter feature to keep their users in touch.

Even their news section on their website is pretty inactive, the past contents they have is outdated. I think their contest are more focus on their social media account like twitter and here on bitcointalk.

@Hospiljok has been bringing forth his issue frequently in this thread since the last couple of months despite members telling him that his hard work in this regard is useless, but I understand his frustrations.

He is just prolonging his suffering sadly since the 1xbit team aren't even checking this thread regularly. Sad!

As soon as he deposited on 1xbit, he is already a loser. It's sad that he come to the point that he made 10 deposit on the casino without really knowing that the casino is an absolute scam, this is why I think that it add additional frustration to him. Everyone would have the same frustration as he have, imagine depositing 10 times because he always lose and when the time he won, he figured out that the casino had scammed him.

There's nothing we can do here, let him vent. @Hospiljok there's nothing you can do anymore, it would be better to move on and do other things. 1xbit has been notorious in scamming people and up to this date, no one legitimate scam accusation against 1xbit has been solved.

133  Economy / Economics / Re: How to survive hyperinflation? on: January 01, 2024, 08:37:28 PM
By living more frugally and not spending money on things that are not so important, this is the best way to deal with hyperinflation.
But actually living in these two ways should be done at all times not just during times of hyperinflation because the more we spend, the more unstable our finances will be, especially if there are not enough jobs to earn money.
Not having to spend on things that aren't important, that's some idea but, this often comes to play when you go for some of the luxuries of life. Like, trying to buy se of the best automobile brands.
I have had to track back at times on some of the items have spent money on to know which of them could have been avoided but, I'm often disappointed. I hdy recall anything neither do I find one that could have been avoided.
In the end, we still find means to survive and that's human nature.
Spending practically is the first thing that a human will do if we are talking about surviving a hyperinflation, spending the money for the necessities and avoiding the "wants" in life. It is effective that way but it somehow reduce the fun in life in my opinion. It would be better to just add another source of income to even support the "wants" like luxuries, this way, you will be more productive and at the same time still enjoy your current spending habits. Having another source of income will surely help you even if the hyperinflation calmed, you will basically have more spending power with you.
134  Economy / Economics / Re: When the world is evolving, follow the trend. on: January 01, 2024, 08:01:07 PM
I agree in principle with your write up here.  The two biggest or most successful investments I've ever made in my life were doing exactly just that, "following the trend in which the world is evolving".  For me I saw bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a new age money that aimed to fix much of what was wrong with fiat money/banking.  Also semiconductors which are used to connect the world, a world that's more connected than ever.  This is a good strategy for investing.
Due to technology the world is transforming and we have no choice than to follow the directions it is heading to, if one resist one might just miss everything. Their is a need one must bow to the way things are being down because the trending things are in charge and will work for the present things. Old trend don't really work well if their are new trend existing.
One doesn't have a choice. You can't do anything in the present time if you can't adapt to the changes coming in the world through technological advancements. Cryptocurrencies are a very big part of this advancement as it is one of the most innovative creations of this era and there is no match for financial innovations that can match the cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin. So those who are away from it are surely going to realize that they have missed a very big thing.

I don't think that a person in this era who understands and follows technology will be able to stay away from an innovation such as Bitcoin unless they either don't know about it or don't understand how it works or maybe they have been misguided and told that it's something useless and dangerous, etc.
Ignorance is one reason why people don't want to accept the change. Everything is verge to change especially on the technological side where we can experience fast paced changes, the thing that are relevant today might not be in just months or years. Even on cryptocurrency, trend changes so often. I learned it the hard way by sticking into older trend and sticking in my old experiences and knowledge in cryptocurrency which resulted me into missing a lot of good opportunities along with the changing trend.

I think that my lack of interest and the love from the old trend is what keep me left behind before, also the laziness of getting new knowledge of what is currently happening is one reason why I failed to adopt back then.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: January 01, 2024, 07:28:05 PM
You don't need to lose if you want to get successful in investing in bitcoin. It's just that there are many newbies who invested on bitcoin without the needed knowledge, that's why they lose their investment. There are so many people who made good amount of money by investing on bitcoin, some even got rich by investing on the early days of bitcoin. It's just that these people are equipped with knowledge that's why their winning chance is greater.

Invest on the basic knowledge first before investing your hard earned money on bitcoin. The knowledge can be obtain for free over the internet, it is way better that investing your hard earned money and panicking because you don't know what is going on with your investment.

Along with learning about bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency, you will learn that there's no such thing as guaranteed in this market.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What course can one study in university that can build potential in bitcoin? on: January 01, 2024, 06:58:21 PM
You don't actually need to study for a college degree if you want to succumb on cryptocurrency technology. Resources over the internet are too many for us to study, even programmer/developers doesn't need to graduate to get their programming skills and decent job in the internet. I'm not saying that graduating on a university is a bad choice, actually it can help you boost your career if you want to have a job that revolves in developing a blockchain. If you want to learn about current technology, IT or computer science course is a good choice for you, they might not teach you the whole concept of bitcoin or blockchain in your university but it can actually help you to learn the fundamentals of it.

139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's Your Feeling After You Finish Gambling. on: December 29, 2023, 05:51:26 PM
Gambling whether you play it online or offline is a mental game there are a lot of mixed emotions going on while you play
Excited when you're winning, anxious when you're chasing your losses, ecstatic when you won a big amount but have anxiety about cashing out.

It's a roller coaster ride when we are playing in casinos whether online or offline that is why we always come back to gamble because we feel alive and we have mixed emotions.

But after finishing the game what's your overall feeling how did you overcome this feeling and how many hours or days did it last?

Be honest with yourself and vote on the poll on What's Your Feeling After You Finish Gambling?
I'm not into doing gambling that much these days but when I play, it means that I really want to play it. After a gambling session, I feel satisfied even if I'm on a loss, it's the entertainment that what is I'm looking for.

When I was still on the days that I am doing gambling almost every single day, the end feeling/emotion are different from each other. There are regretting feeling, happy, sad, and emotional. It is different from each other because it all depends on the result of that certain day gambling activity. If I won, I would be feeling genuinely happy and satisfied but if I lose, I will feel sad and has some regrets why I gambled.

I'm happy with my current gambling status right now, I'm satisfied of being feeling satisfied after a gambling session.

140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: December 29, 2023, 05:22:12 PM
Questions like this has popped out in several occasions and arguments concerning Bitcoin investment. My friends will say you must lose before you gain or rather have more experience investing in Bitcoin. If its how it work, Bitcoin isn't for a low income earner as well as not gonna make you rich when you can't invest something tangible to it. On the other hand people are been made big and wealthy in same program. What does it in tell, cos am quite sure people had already known what's going to happen in the market in the nearest future to give them the strong mindset to invest porously. My biggest fear is losing my hard earn to something as volatile, vulnerable and uncertain as btc. What's the possibility you invest without losing. Is it guaranteed in this kinda market?
Nope. Even if it is not a guarantee that bitcoin will rise today or let say this month, there so many people who are speculating that it will sky rocket in value when the bull market arrives. So if you have bought your bitcoin and you make it stay in your wallet without selling it until the right time, you probably will get a profit. If bitcoin goes down below your buying price, you still have the whole portion of bitcoin that you had bought, the logical thing to do is to just wait for it to rise in value.

New investors lose because they sold their bitcoin because of fear or panic, that is why they lose. You don't need to experience it that's why just hold it long till you are satisfied with the price.
