261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think if you have a lot of money its hard to satisfy your ego in gambling on: November 03, 2023, 12:08:57 PM
What do you think, if I have millions I will be satisfied betting thousands of dollars for fear of addiction that will lead to losing my fortune, but I really don't know if I will reach that level of having millions and still be moderate in gambling.

There's no fixed answer when it comes to the amount of a wager. It still depends on personal preference because there are millionaires who find the excitement even when betting $100 per bet. So, we can't really make a general rule based on a specific amount, as everyone has their own level of satisfaction.

Personally, at my current level, I'm not yet a millionaire (hopefully, I will be someday), and I find it thrilling to wager around $50 per bet on sports. Most likely, it will increase when I reach the millionaire stage, haha! I'm thinking maybe $1,000 per bet? I don't know.Smiley
yep, that very reasonable and not necessarily rich people bet large amounts or even small gamblers also not necessarily bet small amounts in fact many small gamblers try to bet large amounts because its all about the satisfaction of each bettor not just about money. and if you have the ability to bet $50, thats okay, the most important thing is that you enjoy it, feel satisfied with the results you get and are able to take responsibility for all the choices you choose and everything you plan, this is the best for you and enjoy it.
In fact there are people who extends their bets to the limit that they can't handle it if the bet is lost just because of the additional adrenaline rush they can get from it. There are people who just trying to make it a little riskier for the sake of enjoyment, thrill and of course the ego. I agree that there's no correct amount of wager or bet on gambling, it depends on the gambler on how much or how strategically he will use the gambling money that he has. As long as we are enjoy doing gambling and being responsible in it, it's fine.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerians spend $975m daily on online betting on: November 03, 2023, 11:42:16 AM
Since Nigeria is a third world country there's an inequality of wealth distributions where the richest own a lot of money and most of people are poor, it's true if they're solely depend on gambling as a source of income.

Poor people don't have enough money, how they can have money to gamble? obviously it's for making more money.

Nigeria has an income inequality of 1 to 14 for the top 10% to the bottom 50% of the population and 1 to 37 for the top 1% to the bottom 50%.

Wealth inequality or wealth gap measures wealth distribution in a country. It is the difference between the richest and the poorest in a country or location.
I don't know if Nigeria has some sort of financial support for the greater poor but one thing is I'm sure, there's not much financial literacy on majority of the poor people in that country, just like other third world country. I think that they see gambling as one of the source of income that's why they actively deal with it even in reality, there's a lot of risk in it. Poor stays poor because of how the wealth gap in majority of the third world country.

I'm from a third world country and I know how hard it is to climb from poor to lower middle class and it's much harder from lower middle class to higher middle class. The opportunities from each wealth brackets are not the same as well as the education that an individual receives. It's just sad that there are poor people who treats gambling as a source of income and get stuck with that idea.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Profit And Conscience on: November 01, 2023, 10:30:12 PM
First I would like to state that Gambling is legal in our country

This is my friend's story, business is not good in my friend's store which he owns the location is highly commercial but he cannot compete with the large and popular groceries nearby so he decided to stop operation and just offer to lease or rent it.

Because of the location a lottery agent who has a license approached him and is looking for a good place to set up his lottery, my friend's place is very much suited because there's no lotto outlet in that place, and with so many people coming and going and the fact that lotto is very popular in our country, the agent wants to lease at a very good price and a share of the income of the lotto.

He thinks that with the lotto outlet, he will encourage people to gamble which is against his morals so it is a battle between his conscience and the profit.

So what's the best decision to take he is afraid if he lets go of this opportunity the lotto agent will eventually find a location in their place and eventually lose the opportunity to make a profit.
If I were in the position, I will take the opportunity. The opportunity came to your friend without seeking and I personally think that it is a good business deal between your friend and the lotto agent. When it comes to morality, I don't find it wrong since it is legal in your country and I don't think that having a business like that in your area encourage people to gamble and join the lottery. Having a gun shop in your local area doesn't mean that you encourage or want everyone to buy a gun from you right? At the end of the day, your friend will still have the final verdict about this opportunity, it will depend on how he will scale the opportunity vs the morality that he currently have.
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A matter of family conflict regarding Bitcoin. on: November 01, 2023, 09:58:00 PM
Just found out about this topic and the average answer is of course Bitcoin only as an investment instrument that is defeated when it fails and goes bankrupt because of Bitcoin.
But it cannot be the main reason to be blamed, because it is a risk that must be borne by anyone who enters for investment.

Before deciding to enter Bitcoin, it's good to think about what risks will occur and not use the money used for other needs,
so that when the investment fails, there is nothing to blame.

In this incident, the wife did not understand what Bitcoin investment was about and only knew how her husband lost a large investment value which eventually caused an argument that ended in shooting his wife.

As a wife, you should support and provide motivation so that you don't get too stressed, but if coupled with fighting it will be a big disaster like the news.
Sometimes there are still some who ignore the risks of investing in bitcoin maybe they do ALL IN hoping to get even bigger profits, when failure occurs that's where emotions overflow and will blame anyone even not themselves.

Maybe when the husband loses a lot of money that should motivate the wife to want to separate and ask for divorce here the conflict becomes big when the husband's emotions overflow, the wife will become a victim even though the wife is not guilty because the husband's money just disappeared without him knowing it.

What is clear is that he does not have a reserve fund when he experiences a large loss he cannot cover his needs until it becomes a quarrel, this incident should not happen to us.
If you have a partner in life and you have joint finance, communication should be done in every big step that you to do in both of your money, investing is one of them. Investing a marriage joint money is a hard decision for me to be honest because a lot of trust is involved in it especially if you are the one engaging in the act. There should be at least an agreement or a simple walk through what the investment is. Investing in crypto carries a lot of risk and having no approval to your other half in investing in it will put another risk in it like having a potential divorce when you f***-uped. It's important that you both learn the risk and the potential projected result if it fails or not, of course going all in or not is the decision of both individual depending on their risk appetite.
265  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: November 01, 2023, 09:16:20 PM
With all great efforts from Rollbit team to change tokenomics of $RLB token from inflationary to deflationary with combined strategy from Buy back and Burn program, many use cases for the token to give benefit to $RLB token holders and who have Rollbot on Rollbit platform, I am very optimistic about future of the token.

It is very impressive that the token made its new all time high in 2023 when the cryptocurrency market is still in a bear market and we have yet started a bull run. The market this year is better than last two years but it does not turn to bullish year. It is only a warm-up year for the market, a last phase to complete a long bear market and a preparation for next year bull run.
I do believe that this will have a long term impact on it. I am not expecting anything today right away, that's not how tokenomics works, and certainly not ones like this. However, I do agree that on the long term day by day gradually it will show the difference. When that happens we are going to start to see the difference and the price will change without a doubt. I get that it may not be all that crazy for the time being, but I think it is going to be as good as it gets on the long run.

Well for starters we are talking about inflationary to deflationary, that alone means that instead of having more and more which would drop the value, we are going to have less and less which should increase the value, and also between buy back and the burn? That should not only increase the price by buying back, but also lower the supply by burning as well. These are not a single day changes but they are definitely great stuff for a long term of a token.
I agree that the time will tell if their strategy to pump the price will be sustainable for them and for their holders as time goes on. We had seen many projects that use the buy back and burn strategy to do artificial pumps because it is logically lessening the supply in the market. Though the sustainability of it is not guaranteed as long as there are no sustainable real use case behind the token. I believe that in order for it to have a demand, it should be actively used by the consumers in a way to burn them and not to return them to the treasury for it to be reused. It just won't work if you asked me. RLB had improved a lot in terms of price since then but I hope that they can keep up the growth until the next bull market.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this fascination with claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: November 01, 2023, 08:45:22 PM
So basically, the people who claim to be Satoshi are nothing but narcissists? That is what I am getting whenever I see someone claiming to be such- I mean, who would want to have that kind of popularity?
The short answer is yes, they are narcissists. And they don't even care about "that" type of popularity, it's not important, they just want people to talk about them. And I think that they are not even that smart because if some criminal actually believes you are Satoshi that means that somewhere you and tens of billions of dollars, there are people who are willing to kill for $100, let alone what they could do if they think you have that kind of money. Good luck explaining it was all a joke...
Since they want to take the spotlight that is not intended for them, then obviously they are nothing but narcissists. All they want is that the world will recognize them, like the world is revolving in them. And no one wants to be in this situation not unless you want to be famous in exchange of your own dignity. And all of these people who claim that they are Satoshi Nakamoto are sharing the same goal, to be famous and establish their name in the world, and next to it is to attract wealth with their names.

Although I have no hate against these people, but if they continue to pretend and fool the world that they are the real Satoshi, then clearly they're not actually in their right thinking. The more that we should not trust their names.
I agree with you. The more they say that they are satoshi nakamoto, the more they are making themselves looks like a fool. There are people who claimed to be satoshi nakamoto but no one up to now had accessed the account of the real satoshi nakamoto in this forum. I will personally believe anyone who claimed that he/she/they are satoshi nakamoto if our founder (satoshi account) posted it here in this forum. That is the only way that majority of us will be convince for sure, not just any court hearings or what so ever. People will just try to fake it till they make it but trying to prove that they are satoshi nakamoto won't make it to the cut.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: November 01, 2023, 08:19:58 PM
here we should be able to differentiate between gambling and addiction. whatever it is, if you are addicted, the impact will not be good for yourself and the people around you. gambling will not affect our relationships or other things if we play normally and can limit ourselves. but if it has entered the addiction stage it will clearly damage ourselves and affect our relationships with the people around us, including our wife or children.
Gambling can actually cause problem to our relationship when we put all our mind, sould and emotions in it,and it is also then that we become addicted to it.One time ago when I was less busy, and the only thing I had to be doing was gambling,I had problems with my girlfriends almost everyday because she hates it,and I couldn't help myself but to continue in the act that she hates.Sometimes I see that the reason why some persons gamble is when they lacked something serious to do,it will make them think of nothing else but to gamble.
It takes an understanding girlfriend or wife to cope with this and tolerate all of these all in the name of love.
No matter what the topic is, conflict of interest sometimes really disrupt relationship especially if you are really into it. It just depend on what you will do to resolve the situation, will you adjust, cut your gambling, or cut your relationship, it will hardly depends on you. Each people has a different vision on gambling and majority of people don't like it given the fact that it has a financial risk in it and of course the horror stories that made other people fall on their all time low because of gambling. It's hard to change peoples mind that why it will all depend on the gambler in your situation on how will you weight your love.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this how it start? (No or yes?) on: October 31, 2023, 06:41:34 PM
Have you been in such situations before? I foremost, asked this question because I haven't done this before. Today I was just doing nothing but sitting down in the sitting room watching TV, but I wasn't comfortable. Then I fund my betting account (hoping to have fun) with $10 but, unfortunately for me, I lost the whole money without winning just a dime. It was not the first time for me to lose money on gambling (but I am not a regular gambler), then I fund another $10, so finally, finally, I still lost the other money I deposited, and I was like asking myself how? When did I even fund another money in this account? why I am surprised is because I haven't funded into my betting account twise in a day after losing done money, so am I becoming an addict? No.
I personally think you are not an addict but I strongly suggest you to keep your emotion straight and control your self in your gambling activities. Seeking a comebacks is what makes gambling fun as long as it is manageable. It's not that fun anymore if the loss you have will affect you and your daily life. Just be careful since repeating a habit like this will result you in being on a heavy loss or at worst became an addict that will try to recover your lost funds. Control yourself and do a budget on your gambling funds, that way you know what money to spend without really much affecting your daily life.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: October 31, 2023, 05:51:59 PM
I see a lot of people here talking about gambling responsibly. Yes, that is something very true, but have you ever been a gambling addict?

To be honest in the past I have spent a lot of money gambling. What I mean here is that I spent all my savings on gambling. Maybe the nominal amount is not that big but it makes me feel like a gambling addict. I spent 5 months of my savings on gambling. Currently I am aware and am in the stage of improving my own financial condition. Have you ever felt like a gambling addict? and how much did you lose in gambling?
Yes. I've been a normal gambler until I realized that I've been addicted to it because of how I see gambling and how I act toward my gambling activities that is daily at that time. It seems before that gambling is part of my daily routine as a human and I can't live without it. There are so many negatives outcomes on the time that I got addicted and I decided that I need to change before gambling can flip my life to the point that there's no recovery. Tips for those gamblers who noticed that they are getting addicted to gambling, try to slow down your gambling activity and reduce your deposit amount slowly. I did try to stop doing gambling back then as an attempt to stop being an addict but it didn't work, I craved more on doing gambling just like having a withdrawal. Steady and slow until you can control yourself again.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised exchange getting better than Decentralised exchange? on: October 31, 2023, 05:14:45 PM
Both centralized and decentralized exchange has it's pros and cons, up to this date, even the top tier centralized and decentralized exchange haven't managed to merge the features that both type of exchange has. It has to be a thing or features that separates them from each other. Maybe in the future, the debate on what is a better type of exchange will end by having a product that caters both. At the end of the day it will still be our choice on what type of advantage and disadvantage should we take.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin looking like sleeping gigant in this bull run season on: October 31, 2023, 04:33:29 PM
Ltc looking like sleeping gigant the price is Under 100$ definately cheap now people mis buy ltc because no body dont want miss the opportunity some experts Even say that LTC can Do 300% gain from here.
i think it's LTC time now in this crypto bull run season
LTC has a solid community over the years and proven to be a good coin to have but time changes and technologies evolves. The chances of LTC being over shadowed by other altcoin is much higher now given that people are finding new tokens that has a potential to be greater than LTC. The coin community is gradually lesser than it's first bull market, I think that when the bull market arrives, we can expect lesser traction on it's price. I don't hate LTC but I think that newer tokens is better and has a greater potential for us to make much more profit.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin by 9gag on Binance on: October 31, 2023, 03:42:34 PM
I've participated in their airdrop before they had announced the Binance launchpad. This is a 9gag token which I think aligned to being a meme with having a road map that is meme and everything on it. It's just that after carefully viewing the requirements to join to the airdrop, it is quite abusable for those who has a farm of twitter accounts. They can easily farm meme coins as much as they want with multiple accounts. There are a massive surge on the following on meme coins twitter accounts after binance released it to the public. If somehow meme coins achieve a good entry price, I believe that their NFT will rise along with it.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bnb after next 5years on: October 30, 2023, 05:51:08 PM
Some time ago, I wouldn't touch BNB because it's heavily dependent on Binance CEX however now they have widely used BSC chain, recently launched opBNB, now I'm like, BNB will likely do just fine down the line as both BSC chain and opBNB have BNB as native token and are comparatively more decentralized than Binance CEX.

Anything that has to do with exchage coin should be avoided just as BUSD is getting somewhere unpredictable, so should we take caution and be careful of investing on BNB, though i can say a little of the interesting abilities that has been found this same coin but that doesn't make much difference from what the possible implications that could come after making an investment in such since they remain centralized.
This applies to all coin in cryptocurrency. Every coin can be unpredictable not just exchange tokens. If we are talking about the future of BNB, it will hardly remain on Binance on how will they manage their exchange to be on top in the future. If binance somehow got overtaken by other exchange token, I think there price would sunk but not that much. It's within expectation.

I think CZ proves that he can still continue to innovate his exchange which I was hoping to reach to the point of decentralization
274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sent Coin by mistake to wrong address and got them back:) on: October 30, 2023, 05:09:12 PM
Lol so I still don't know how it happen but somehow I sent some money to @rat03gopoh how I get his address copied to my clipboard I don't know but I was searched on Google for the address and come up with the holder then contacted him and hope to get it back, 😅  funny story
Lucky you that the person you had sent your bitcoin is a good person. This kind of situation doesn't happen that much. The fact that the coins where sent to you back and the chances that you wrongly copy pasted an address. I wonder how you contacted him? Thru telegram? If it's a random address, there's no way that you will contact that person.

I suggest to run an antivirus or check your device if it has a malware in it as you said that you didn't know where that address, though I doubt that the person was a hacker given that he returned your money, but just to be safe, check your device.
275  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 30, 2023, 04:44:08 PM
For me, sisimulan ko muna iparenovate yung mismong property namin tapos magpaparoom for rent since crowded naman yung location namin.
Diba, different situation, different views. Naka depende nalang talaga sa tao kung risky ba or somehow safe yung investment nila.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: October 29, 2023, 07:58:12 PM
How can Gambling be illegal when it is celebrated all over the world. In sports like football alot of the adverts are gambling based. We know that money laundering is one of the reasons for it's

proscription but it is just a few people so launder money through it the rest are just average males and females who gamble for several legal and moral reasons.

It depends on the country. There are country who are far more strict than other countries. Money laundering is one of the crimes that can commonly be associated with gambling because of how fast money rotates on a casino and there are a rich history of money laundering of money laundering on casinos. Though I don't think that gambling is an illicit activities. It is depending on what do you think that gambling service is for. Not every gambler had a balls to do it or reason to do it, those who wash their money on the casino are just a very small percentage of those who truly gamble.
277  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Mga ragnarok classic gamer maganda ito on: October 29, 2023, 06:39:00 PM

At isa pa, may kita sila sa marketplace, so the more players, the more na kikita din sila.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: October 29, 2023, 05:53:22 PM
I saw this image below on one of my friend's WhatsApp statuses earlier today. I don't know if the game was played by him or if it was an image saved from somewhere, but the image got me thinking, and we got into a debate because of that.

I was telling someone that if I'm the one to have such a slip and the game is already showing me to cash out such an amount of money, which is equal to $865 based on our local exchange rate, seeing such an amount as cash out available and leaving it will make me appear like someone who is too greedy, but the guy was telling me it's not being greedy but it's all about taking risks. The debate didn't end well, so I decided to bring this up here to see the responses from experienced gamblers.

Lucky for anyone who ever has that bet slip, it seems like the game played in his favour.
I wouldn't even try to debate if I'm on that situation. I wouldn't want to be blamed if something happened that is blamable to you. It's his bet, his money and his responsibility. I would probably give him a support and cheer with his decision.

We all have different perspective on a situation like that and if you ask me, I would probably continue until I was satisfied knowing that I will do a research first and be confident with my bet. It's a good opportunity to withdraw but the lust you will experience when your plans that you cancelled won.

~snipped~
I doubt that he has millions stored, which are hunted by both hackers on the Internet and robbers offline.
That's even the sad reality. Most of these people getting paranoid about wallet security are not likely to have up to $100 worth in Bitcoin, yet they get conscious of security. I ain't saying they shouldn't. It's just that they should tone it down a bit.
I think it's better to be that way rather than least prioritizing the wallet security. They aren't targeted by the hackers but there are some random malwares out there that are set-up by those small fish hackers which target are those newbies or those who has weak security. My friend was hacked because of a malware and the funds where not that big but the hacker didn't spare him. As long as there are something that a hacker can get to you, they will get it. I believe that it's a good thing to make a habit on checking your own security.

We all know Elon, with his crazy ideas and vision, I couldn't expect less from him. With his portfolio of companies that revolutionized and being powered with the technology, the plan of him with the goal of replacing banks might become true. It's hard because of regulations and laws but it's possible I think, it will be just a bloody hard to achieve. The date he also gave is for me not realistic at all. I also doubt that the masses will use it, it would be an option for us if somehow Elon achieve this.
