361  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a 20% Annual Return good ? on: October 08, 2023, 06:34:45 PM
Not just good it is great. The average return of S&P500 since 1930’s is ~10%. If you can generate 20% every year and start with $200k, you will be a millionaire in 10 years. That’s x5 return and it beats the inflation... The question is, can you do this every year? Maybe you think %20 is a low number. That happens when you invest a lot in crypto but for the traditional investments, 20% annual returns is a lot and usually unsustainable. If you somehow found a way of making 20% every year, don’t let it go. You are basically printing money.
True. Imagine if you have million to as a starting capital and there's no way that you will lose. I'm sure that strategy would be the greatest strategy of all time if it's an assured 20% annually. But yeah, the consistency is surely uncertain. We don't have a clue how does the strategy work but if I were have that kind of formula and I know it's working, I will continue doing it since I believe it's a good return. The only enemy you have in this kind of strategy is the greediness that is hiding with in you, maybe one day, 20% isn't enough for you and you want to increase it.
362  Economy / Gambling / Re: Quick outcome of 100 plinko bet in one second on: October 08, 2023, 05:16:44 PM
Because the animation take time to finish while the result can being dealt instantly.

It's just like (Slot). People in (Landbase) casino always acting crazy to touch the screen while they don't know the result already pre-determined no matter what you are pick if your bonus/spin are not getting jackpot.

What you are to do like push spin harder/touch the screen are not gonna to effect anything.

If that’s true then imagine how bad everyone must be feeling right now. Everyone must be thinking they are going to win big in this game play or maybe the next one but what they don’t know is they have already been looted by the algorithm. Lolz.

This literally takes away the fun for me. Plus Plinko is actually fun to play and kinda adrenaline rush while the balls drops. I’m even following a YouTuber whose only favourite game is Plinko and keeps winning huge 250x rewards all the time.

I think next time I play this game or any of the other I might just try out this trick but it’s definitely gonna take the fun out.
Yep, the trick that OP gives are just false information, it's the luck that made him win on his gambling session. Maybe he still has that adrenaline rush from the trick he discovered after winning using the trick he did. Though we know that in the back end, its pre determined by the system.

I agree, it throws away the fun of plinko. Each bounce of plinko ball don't guarantee you where it will land and that is the fun part since everything is unexpected even on the very last bounce.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How quick do altcoins pump in bull run? on: October 08, 2023, 03:52:54 PM
Altcoins value can spike during the bull market. I've seen it several times and even shitcoins can experience a massive growth during the bull market if they are align with the current trend. One example of this is play to earn tokens last bull market. So many low quality games that produced their own token really sky rocket even if the product quality is so bad and same case with the NFT arts
potential altcoins will naturally pump during bull run but if its come to shitcoins, most if those don't pump. Handred of shitcoins still dying on my wallet, i did notice only one or two get pump during bull run cause them want to earn money again with create hype by providing liquidity and rest of shitcoins owner just move on with new token to scam people. Another way to pump Shitcoins in bullrun is its new trending, otherwise people won't buy old shitcoins
Most of those shitcoins were just being ignored by holders and don't really try to attempt to interact with it because of being low valued. If there's a miracle that the shitcoin you have had its price pumped, I think it's the time for you to sell that because most likely it will never pump again, maybe some people try to pump it for some reason which gives you a chance to sell. Shitcoins are just built and die, no purpose of being a long term project whatsoever. Those tokens that has a potential is a different thing since there are real supporters and holders of the coin which makes the coin alive and being traded even if its a bear season.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🚨🚨 Galxe Hacked Warning on: October 08, 2023, 03:11:53 PM
Luckily I haven't interacted with this using all of my wallet. This is well used platform for those who are airdrop hunters, I wonder if the hack affected those who connected their wallet in the platform. I noticed that airdrop platforms are the one who are being attacked now by the hackers. I've saw on twitter that there are other similar platforms that are hacked and encouraging everyone to revoke the access to their wallet.

This is why we should use other wallet to connect to platforms. This shows how easily our wallet can get wiped if incident like this happen again.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can change lives on: October 08, 2023, 02:45:46 PM
In 2010, one Bitcoin was just $0.20, and buying 5,000 Bitcoin would cost only $1000.
Compare that price as of then to today's price $27k plus,  you would be obviously filthy rich.
The question is: would you be holding those coins until now or would you have sold it a long time ago, once you made some profit. Take note that so many people also lost their keys, were careless or were hacked, some of you just talk about investing and making money, like it is so uncomplicated, there are so many things that could also go wrong.

Stop it with threads about "how BTC changes lives", "how BTC makes your life bright", and all the other nonsense, i think in this section we ought to be dicussing more about BTC in itself as a censorship resistant and permissionless currency, not how it would make you wealthy in 2140.
I myself had sold it long time ago, being blinded with the small profit I made from those bitcoin I had, I made a really bad mistake. It's easy to say that "if I hold it until now" where we can't really predict that we are on this price point right now. If I know that bitcoin will appreciate up to it's current all time high, I would probably not sell it despite of the profit that I got before but yeah, it's something that a lot of us missed which is failing to realize what kind of feat does bitcoin can achieve. Move on and leave the regrets, it's the lesson I've learned from the years of being in the cryptocurrency space. For sure there are other opportunity out there.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: October 07, 2023, 07:49:12 PM
Take it or leave it, some part of me still want to make free money from gambling, even when I don't gamble every day, and while I am a very cautious gambler.

Some people are trying to hide behind the cotton, stating that they are gambling for the fun of it, I will like to ask them this question if I can get them to answer.

Is there any spirit of good will when you intentionally give your money away in order to just have a good time gambling?

Because taking money away from gambling simply makes the game not worth playing.

Will you still participate if money is not involved? Many people will easily quit if all casinos are to be turned into no-money games, isn't it?

Money is still the real reasons why we gamble, been addicted or not, mutual greed or not, all gambling is done to make more money or get some form of reward in the end.

Having something valuable at stake is what makes gambling fun. It's a challenge that you won't wanna lose because there will be something that will be lost to you when you are defeated and that what personally pumps me in trying hard to win the game. If the casino remove the money on their games, it won't be a casino, it will be called a game center. We have options in this world and game centers where there's are no bet on their games, people choose casino because there are some risk in it that gamblers want. Not everyone go to a casino to win massive profit but at the same time not everyone wants to lose either.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 07, 2023, 07:23:36 PM
I knew that from a certain old age I will grew tired of these gambling games, I know for myself that I will stop seeing it as amusing anymore and I will basically stop playing it given that on my current status, I'm not into huge profit anymore and more on entertainment. If the entertainment I got from doing gambling is lost, for sure I will stop doing gambling. I don't have a clue on what specific age should I quit but I'm sure I will stop doing gambling before I perish in this world, maybe a new hobby that makes me really entertained will make me quit.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: October 07, 2023, 06:06:35 PM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

maybe in a certain sense someone will feel excited when they get something from what they predicted, like they think they can do it all the time, and from there carelessness starts to come and continues until the person can finally control himself, or even drown in gambling continuously.

Which very common, when you feel something like that thinking that it's just an easy task to win from gambling, or thinking that you found a magic formula that will allow you to suck money from the gambling house, it's all start in a good win and sometimes if that first try to give you another same result that intensity will level up.

You will find yourself trying to keep imitating the outcome and ended out being failure, either you'll learn from your mistake and stop or will keep yourself pushing ahead and keep reinventing your strategy in hope that it will bring you the win that you are aiming.

Casino can easily make you overconfident in gambling unconsciously by letting you win on your early stage of doing gambling. I've been there too. I won hard by doing a certain technique or strategy by just doing it repeatedly but unfortunately I became overconfident that I can win again using the same strategy which I can say that even the risk management that I am carefully applying was not implemented on that gambling session because I was so over confident. Ended up losing my capital on that gambling session. Casino has many ways to beat you even if we think that we have the perfect strategy to win every time.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: October 07, 2023, 05:28:08 PM

Yes, I agree with that, the aim of school is to gain educational knowledge that is useful for the future of children.
However, if you want to impart knowledge about gambling to children, parents should do it personally to tell them what impact it will have if they fall into gambling. Indeed, this needs to be done so that children's can gain knowledge well and not think about it at all gambling that will hamper his future.
It is true that as a child have to obey parents orders, but it would be better if tell them slowly so that children don't feel pressured.
That's right, by providing internal understanding to children, I think that is a good step. Because gambling in the eyes of society is a habit that is not good to do, and how could this bad habit be exposed in public, it would be better if no one knew about it.
I agree that we as parents must provide good knowledge, including providing knowledge about what gambling is and its impacts. So, do it slowly so that your child does not experience mental or physical stress.
As parents, we have to really look after our children by providing knowledge or information about something so that they don't look for wrong information that could mislead them. This is important because parents are the ones who educate their children until they grow up and even until they get married, their parents still educate them to be good parents even though they also have their own experiences.

And for those who are already addicted to gambling, they must have a strong intention to reduce or escape gambling addiction. But it is difficult to treat yourself if there is no desire from within because we have to be able to push ourselves to recover from gambling addiction. No one can predict how long someone can get rid of gambling addiction because it is determined by how strongly a person intends to recover from gambling addiction.
I think it is our responsibility to make our children understand the potential danger of gambling and the effects to their life just like what we are teaching them on other vices like cigarettes, drugs and other obviously dangerous vices. I myself is a gambling addict before and I literally have no financial freedom because of it, I was stuck on a cycle on receiving money and doing gambling which makes it hard for me to have something valuable before. It's obvious that I don't want our children to learn it this is why it's better to teach them not to or don't expose them into something that you don't want them to try. Addiction is treatable but it needs an ample of time before we can get rid of it.
371  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: October 06, 2023, 09:03:51 PM

Less pressure, more enjoyment.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 06, 2023, 07:50:12 PM
it's not just you, most of us here have felt the same thing as you feel, but compared to regretting things that have passed, it would be much better if we could learn from experience and continue investing in bitcoin.

certainly in the future there will be a time when the bitcoin market will be bullish and that's why before that happens it's a good idea for us to be able to invest, whether it's a little or a lot, the most important thing is to buy, hold for a long period of time and remain persistent, i'm sure that we can profit from it.
I'm sure majority of us even in this forum has regrets on not learning it early, selling it in it's early price or lose our trust on bitcoin after experiencing a sudden price dump. It's a hard lesson for us who experienced it and for now, the only thing we can do is accumulate and hold it till we can get profit from it. I myself learned bitcoin early more than others but I doubted and failed to realize the future it holds. I wish I can turn back the time and invest on bitcoin more than I could.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MultiversX (EGLD) is the next Bitcoin on: October 06, 2023, 07:21:31 PM
For those newbies out there who want to shill the altcoins that they have and hoping that they can shill it in this forum just like what OP did, please don't do it given that it won't help the coin rise in value since no one would really have an interest in it especially if you are advertising it as the next bitcoin LOL.

There a lot of altcoins that are promoted as the next bitcoin but no one really succeed. Please do your research y'all.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardwork pays not luck! on: October 06, 2023, 06:25:03 PM
I am a person who never won any lottery but when dedicated to working on something, I get an ample amount of money. In 2018 when I started working as a Bounty hunter(as the secondary job of course), After two three years I came to know how much money I had earned which I would not have earned doing an office job for 10 years. Here the game turned. Seeing so much money in my hand, suddenly I saw everywhere when traders were earning thousands of dollars doing cryptocurrency trading. It was like the grass is always green on the other side. As mentioned earlier, due to overconfidence and not following risk management, lost some portion of the money that I earned through bounties. Now I have realized that I must work hard and that too with dedication, then only I can have a good earning status. Just to iterate, working as a bounty hunter or trading in cryptocurrency was never my primary source. Still, I am working in a tech company and getting monthly salaries.
I think that you are earning more from the trading that you do than the bounty campaign given that the payment on bounty campaign are really low nowadays. We have our own journey on cryptocurrency and I myself is happy that I discovered cryptocurrency at it's early age and learned how to make money by using it. We all have our ups and down on our journey and that what makes it an experience that will cultivate us to the near future. At least for now with the bad decision you have like not having a risk management, you learned something and that what makes it really important.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provable fairness should be mandated by law! ONLY gamble in provably fair casino on: October 06, 2023, 05:49:31 PM
I doubt that law makers will prioritize making a law that requires casino owners to have or implement a probably fair system in their casinos. There are a lot of problem in each country right now and those are indeed should be prioritized over this kind of problem. Having a problem with the fairness of casino? Choose a casino that offer the fairness that you want. The one that the government need to prioritize is catching those scam casino over this. There are a bunch of scam casino that is still operating for years but still haven't gotten caught because of weak laws in their country.
376  Economy / Gambling / Re: make some developments related gambling on: October 05, 2023, 06:49:01 PM
Gambling have always been there right from time and just like every other thing, it has also enjoyed a fair share of technological transformation. So it is right to say that the proliferation being experienced now is made possible by the internet. It is actually a fact that these advancement actually pave way for more flexibility and better game options.

It is obvious that internet has been the bedrock for more development within the gambling industry in these latest years, though, sometimes I feel we have not advanced so much. When I heard about the metaverse at first, I thought there would be a boost for development and new experiences, but I was wrong the Metaverse as a whole new market flopped and nothing happened, now it is about artificial intelligence, which is not as easy to apply on gambling as VR could be.

I thought people could actually immerse themselves into a virtual casino, but that concept as a massive product seem not not be a priority right now.
Yep, the metaverse idea flopped quite hard because I think the delivery is not that right or we are not ready yet for that especially on the equipment side. Though I believe there are still metaverses that are on the development stage which is nice since there might be a comeback on the concept.

For the artificial intelligence on gambling, I found it hard to implement on casinos or overall gambling. Except in the customer side where they can possibly use AI in winning on gambling.

We are still new on both concepts and the application today where much better than the product of early age of internet. We can judge the idea few years from now but today, both of it is quite hot technology that big companies have their own commitment to own one. I am saying this on general perspective.
377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading purely based on luck. on: October 05, 2023, 05:53:07 PM
I tried to trade without any analysis, relying only on luck, I was flipping a coin for each trade I entered.
During a three day period, I initiated three trades per day, each with a small profit target and a stop-loss order. Surprisingly, these results outperformed the trades I made based on speculation and trend analysis.
it is important to note that the long term outcome remains uncertain.
I considered this experiment a success mainly due to the fact that I was trading on a demo account with no emotional involvement, and the trades automatically closed when they reached their stop loss levels, and I did not make impulsive decisions to alter the stop loss orders.
In real trading scenarios, emotional factors, such as adjusting stop-loss levels and increasing leverage, often lead to losses.
What a nice experiment. I think I will try this in a demo account too given that I heavily rely on technical analysis whenever I trade. Let's see how I can benefit from my experience and my guts in choosing the speculation to believe. Though I think it will differs when a real money is involved in the experiment. Having something that is at stake will somehow make your judgement change like being meticulous on the data you are relying on. Fundamental analysis works but I don't do it that much.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 04:28:55 PM
High risk, high rewards. Don't be blinded by that kind of mindset that every altcoin even has a potential will become the same as bitcoin who still holds it's value right now. A project that has a potential isn't a shitcoin, one kind of shitcoin are meme tokens who has no actual product and no useful use-case. Those kind of altcoin will just rely on hype or some pump and dump scheme that people will literally take advantage of other investors. Even old-time crypto users has bitcoin, they experienced a lot of ups and down in cryptocurrency but the view about bitcoin is still the same. It's true that the profit you can get from bitcoin isn't that high compared to other altcoins that can make you instant rich overnight but the risk you are giving when you are investing to bitcoin is for me minimal as long as you know what you are doing with your bitcoin.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If not for Bitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 04:01:22 PM
Having a little bit of bitcoin wouldn't hurt you and I believe it would bring people joy whenever they profited on it, as long as they know what they are doing. Always consider the benefits along side with the downside of it. I somewhat sort waiting for something big when still we are on the bull market, something big that can be a sign for me or a trigger for the bull market. After one big flop or scandal in crypto during the bull market will eventually snowball until we realized that we are on the bear market. It obviously happened real quick last bull market.

As long as you are smart or know why you have bitcoin will eventually make you happy.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is my plan. on: October 05, 2023, 03:39:14 PM
I am still here to gather little knowledge about Bitcoin, I don't need enough knowledge, I can invest while learning Bitcoin, but the thing there is I am shuffling my self, so I will not be tangled while I am accumulating Bitcoin, I have come up with a plan of using the DCA method to accumulate a $50 monthly, my monthly payment from my job is $300, if my expenses will collect up $100 then $50 can be kept in crypto (Bitcoin) and another $100 for emergency funds then the remaining $50 can also be kept for personal things. Now is the best time to buy Bitcoin, I am not in a hurry to start investing Bitcoin, when the time comes for me to invest nothing will stop me to invest in BTC, as Bitcoin is not something I will start today and get rich tomorrow that is why I don't want to rush in to it. I will use electrum Bitcoin wallet to save my coins because I have learned so far that the electrum wallet is a safe wallet for any investors that what to hold Bitcoin for long, so I will be using it to hold my coins when I buy some Bitcoin, I will update when I buy my first BTC.
I like the plan you had made. I also think that you have enough knowledge on what to do in accumulating since you plan to use electrum to save your coins. I know that the expenses aren't non negotiable if we will change your plan but if I'm on your situation, I will reduce the emergency funds to $30 and put the difference into investing into bitcoin. You don't need to have a large boost on your emergency funds since I think that the $100 on your emergency fund will last you a month without any income. Though this will depends if you know you will still have your current stable job in the future. You can still change your emergency funds depending on your target maximum amount to be saved on emergency funds.
