1781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAMM] MammothCoin, the first X13 coin with True Random SuperBlocks! on: June 04, 2014, 06:09:58 PM
Every other coin coming out says they are working on anon feature. In world history, the phrase 'talk is cheap' never applied so fittingly as it does to the world of crypto.
How many coins? not sure how a dev could forget to leave this out of the coin specs.
What specifically do you plan for anon wallet, or is this just a buzzword you threw out to get people interested?
Getting really tired of this shit, looking forward to the next gen of coins made by pros who finally notice how much money can be made here.

I'm confused, as usual. We have a "new" coin spit out by an obvious scammer with a 15%+ instamine (that's 150k out of 1.1m, right?) The "developer" hasn't made even a slight attempt at any innovation that would set it apart from 200+ existing coins, he hasn't even bothered to make anything up. Instead, all of his posts are "to the sun" - that's it, that's all he has to say.
HOW FUCKING DUMB ARE YOU TO MINE OR BUY THIS COIN???
1783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why XC Is The New Bitcoin on: June 03, 2014, 11:44:37 PM
I'll give him props for creatively justifying his bag though.  Grin
1784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why XC Is The New Bitcoin on: June 03, 2014, 11:24:02 PM
Why XC, not DRK, MRO or something that will come out with much better anon tech? you seem pretty confident in one horse, don't get too confident. If anything is certain in crypto it's change.
Im also gonna go out on a limb and say if things really go to hell like you describe, guns, ammo, food and fuel will be priority 1. No one is gonna give a shit about crypto when their main concerns are survival.
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN]AXIS coin Hybrid - X13 Algorithm - 12M in total - 6 days of hashing. on: June 03, 2014, 06:38:08 PM
I appreciate the honesty, but still am wondering what this coin adds?

Polish Translation

Alright. You have reserved PL translation.

We are on good way. AXIS will be the first X13 coin which wont be cloned by other another X13 coin. ( After original X13 )
Cloners will copy AXIS' source to make other X13 coins.

Wont reveal anything more yet Smiley
Confusing  Huh

Old coins are out, ones esp ones with an already high mkt cap and have shown the volatility that NXT has shown since Dec   Shocked
I wish bagholders the best, that's not my game. If you told me about NXT in Dec when it was .01 I'd be all over it.
1787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What now? on: June 03, 2014, 03:30:50 PM
I don't even know what to look for in new coins anymore. Right now I'm just browsing the announcements pages for any new idea each morn and that's it.
I saw XC really early and bought 10k at 4000 sat. I dumped them when they hit 20 and made a couple btc. I kept reading and decided it was a scam and stayed out, which was a horrible mistake. I used my earlier winnings to buy back in at 100k and held to the crash. I think I made another .5 btc. I realize many lost tons on xc and I made some, but I am absolutely heartbroken I didn't hold my earlier coins and do much more with it. I fear it's the last chance I will get at a big one for a long time.
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What now? on: June 03, 2014, 03:22:30 PM
"It feels a little like the volume of pumps, scams and noise is reaching unsustainable levels but you never know, it might just get louder."

It felt like that the last several weeks, right now to me it feels like the party's over.
1789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What now? on: June 03, 2014, 03:05:59 PM
So the last couple months have been amazing opportunities to make money. My trading skills are really bad but I am good at seeing coins early, so I made about 10 btc - should have been much, much more of course.
Starting with BC huge pump and it's new ideas about pos/pow and multipools which spawned many coins which also pumped, coins like Naut and XBC which gave amazing returns for the savvy trader and early adopter, and culminating with last month's anonymity craze.
I'm not feeling it right now, wondering if I should just find something else to do and try back in a month or 2. I remember reading posts in the speculative subforum from a few people saying this scene was dying back in Feb/March, and boy were they wrong. That was probably a transitionary period that feels like now to me, were new ideas had been played out and the next innovations were yet to appear.
What do you think, is this done for a little while, a long while, or forever? because trading existing coins always results in much more stress than returns I'm only in it for jumping on early coins, otherwise I'm out.
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Revamped PinkCoin (PC) Pure 100% PoS | Multipool | Fundraiser | Anonymous on: May 31, 2014, 09:23:35 AM
I hate to troll your coin but I'm going to do it anyway.

First, what you have proposed for anonymity is no better than what XC or Dark have promised or implemented.

The good news is that its no worse either.

That's not saying much because the proposals of all three fail at true anonymity. The anonymity itself is spoiled by a centralized mixing layer, which is what all three depend on. Centralized mixers break the trustless paradigm and therefore are not, by definition, anonymous.

The only way to achieve true anonymous transactions is by using cryptography and currently the only working cryptographic implementation is cryptonote ring signatures.

How people can buy into the hype around these coins with centralized anonymity is completely beyond me.

This community doesn't really care about anonymity, look at the values of the cryptonote coins right now. What it cares about is the hype surrounding a new idea so that a coin will pump and they can dump on others for one goal - increase fiat. The altcoin scene in many ways shows the worst of humanity, whales and unethical developers doing everything in their power to snatch money from dump victims. The things I've seen would land many in jail in the real world, that is a fact.

I agree that this is the case for 95% of the Altcoin scene. You are here yourself, I assume, because it is also your interest / hobby ?

You must then know yourself, that PinkCoin is a good coin, stands head and shoulders above the rest.

I don't put my name to a coin very often, and when I have done in the past with a certain un-named currency, I was burnt like all the rest.

Sure, a lot of coins are a Ponzi scheme, you will also get burnt on the exchanges with rinse and repeat if you are not careful.

You talk about Jail, I wonder if you realise that all big corporations are borderline legality, certain asic manufacturers for example with "no refund, pre-orders" or perhaps companies that have head offices off-shore to avoid paying tax.

The world isn't perfect, neither is PinkCoin, but striving for perfection with a team of developers who are active and actually 'give a shit' really makes sense to me.

The Pink team are certainly a cut above the avg scam developers. However, the front page is a bit misleading towards anonymity, they should say it is in development. Yes, I'm here out of interest and the desire to make money. I have been a dump victim several times, believing the hype surrounding a price increase was genuine.
There is good news/bad news about this scene being unregulated. The bad news is you really have to watch your back to avoid scams and dumps. The good news is it's possible to 100x your money in a week. It is a bit of a moral dilemma though, knowing you must dump on late buyers to do so. Normally I take profit long before the top to avoid both of these issues, and leave some in the coin for investment.
As far as Pink I'm holding about half a million bought at 26 sat, and will buy more when this anon website is working. I don't mind paying more later, I find that buying the coin and news not the price is always a better bet.

1793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] >> Mandatory Wallet Update - The first POS ANON on: May 30, 2014, 03:38:26 AM
Price prediction
I predict a correction.
Not trying to make FUD. Its just a prediction.
It might come true or not. I don't care.

Wrong thread.  This isn't the DRK thread.
This is xc graph
with my prediction on it.

not drk
lol
1794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] >> Mandatory Wallet Update - The first POS ANON on: May 30, 2014, 03:12:37 AM
This has nothing to do with fud. When a coin rises this high this fast you have lots of traders who are in serious profit. Even at current price it's like 25x what a lot of buyers paid for it just a few days ago. This crash would happen to any coin that did the same thing, what will cause it to go back up are the fundamentals which caused it's rise in the first place. Best coin features, most qualified developer, best plan - of any altcoin before it. Stick with the fundamentals when deciding whether to dump or hold, nothing else.

I can't agree with you more LOL
But I still worry about the price not the coin.
This market is very special and unpredictable. A great coin might die if there're enough FUD, since investors are always not technical expert.

Unlike fundamentals, prices are temporary. There isn't a single successful crypto coin that hasn't had massive crashes and huge spikes, it's just the nature of the beast.
1795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] >> Mandatory Wallet Update - The first POS ANON on: May 30, 2014, 02:35:15 AM
This is going to be a rocky road. This coin is seriously stepping on the toes of Drk, which has many many fanatical bagholders. Don't expect to replace their mrket cap standing without getting bloodied up, and don't for a second think this coin is beyond huge crashes. Remember that the crashes don't reflect the true value of the coin, they are just unavoidable corrections.

What is the point of this coin when several coins already exist with same features? rip off the tech and come up with a different name - great job.  Roll Eyes

someone dumped two times 230 btc and it still at 2,75 mBTC.... nice resistance

Those selling now will deeply regret, there will be a mass change of hands below .01 - lots of people stepping over dollars to get to dimes.
