The higher difficulties alone will make gpu mining unprofitable and asics scrypt miners very unlikely to ever make a profit. We can agree to disagree about what will happen to the values, but it doesn't really matter - see point one.

All I know is the difficulty will skyrocket but more coins WILL be mined with the new asics. The only way these additional coins being dumped on the exchanges won't cause decreasing values is if people buy more of them with btc. Barring that the values for most will decrease and many coins will be killed off (a good thing).
Btw, btc asics replaced, not added to scrypt miners. After that happened, a shitload of fiat came into the picture which raised the price. Do you see a shitload of fiat coming in to altcoins?

The only coin I'm looking at trading is blackcoin right now. As far as I know it's really the only game that's alive, and the potential is huge - to profit or to lose depending on your skill and patience level.

I wouldn't buy one, nfw. These will make most coins values plummet, I seriously doubt return on investment will happen. What they might do is raise btc and bc values due to the multipools though, but that will only happen for so long - who is going to keep buying the shitcoins being mined to keep the daily dumps from destroying their values? Basically it's like todays situation to a much larger degree, the end result is no miners will be profitable.

Feel REALLY sorry for them now, because those coins they sold a a big loss are now worth about what they were before the dump. This is a brutal game make no mistake, it will test your emotions to the limits on what to do in volatile situations. Best bet is to place buy and sell orders that give you a nice profit, then leave the computer alone - sitting there watching is probably the cause of most money losses.

74 mil, market cap is under 2 mil - look at the market cap not price or coins and you know this could be huge. Aur and Doge are dead, money's gotta someplace this seems a good bet.

I finally pulled my head out of my ass on this coin and bought 1.5 btc this morn in high 20's. Is this thing going to keep chugging? I'd hate to take a little profit now and not be able to buy back in at reasonable price. DAMN I wish I'd had the sense to buy 5 btc when it was 1000 yesterday.

And what's going to happen to the value of the coins being used to inflate the value of bc? what does bc do that other coins don't, other than be harder to obtain and having this multipool experiment idea?

I agree. The problem with day trading is there isn't any way to tell which coin will go up soon, and if it's already up getting in has a huge risk of going right back down like execoin yesterday. Blackcoin currently seems to be an exception but that's due to this multipool experiment, if it fails the coin will probably flop right back to 500.
To sum things up I think if you play blackjack well your chances of making money are better at the casino than with alts. About all you can do with alts is pick a few coins and hope one or 2 move up, then gtfo when they do. Coins with a low market cap is the way to go, they ain't going down much more so your potential losses are minimized.
