1641  Economy / Speculation / Re: ELI5.. Why are people guessing the auctioned coins sold for so much? on: July 01, 2014, 05:04:45 AM
Ok, so im reading here and a few people keep coming and and saying how we were dumb for thinking they would go under market value.. But i don't understand that. I guess i'm too small minded to understand the concept of not getting a discount when buying in bulk... As i thought that was the whole point of buying bulk? Is there something different about buying bulk BTC's that i'm missing? I understand it would take awhile to get that many coins through exchanges, but even then, i can't see them paying that much over market price when they could just create a script/bot to buy coins at much better prices from many different exchanges. I just don't understand.

Edit:
**I have not read any hard data, just same stuff on the web as everyone else.**

1 year from now you will understand how great of a deal the winning bidder got.

Dev, speak up - are you aiming for thousandaire or millionaire with this coin?
1643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: --- [ANN] [XXX] XXXcoin --- 100% PoS 33 MILLION --- ANON TOR PAYMENT --- BITTREX on: June 30, 2014, 06:16:24 PM
VootCoin max coins 65mil, pos 10%  =>  price 1200
XXXCoin  max coins 50mil, pos 5%     => price 300 CHEAP !!  Grin Grin Grin

Right, and Voot is a shitcoin offering nothing.
If someone can't see XXXcoin with 36m coins and a price of 300sat as undervalued maybe you should take up Bingo? better yet, leave this thread and stop wasting your time.

just can not see the main point of this coin... so i do not think this has a big potential... or....what do you think ?

If you can't see it you can't see it, move on and keep looking. I've missed plenty of coins that went huge because I didn't see those, it happens.
1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: --- [ANN] [XXX] XXXcoin --- 100% PoS 33 MILLION --- ANON TOR PAYMENT --- BITTREX on: June 30, 2014, 05:49:41 PM
I bought a few hundred Wank and dumped those for a small profit. I just bougth a few hundred thousand xxxcoins and am holding, to me there is no comparison for potential. GO DEV'S - make this happen!

I'm actually getting a bit excited about this coin, I see it going potentially 100x+.
3k sats for a 30m anon coin with a purpose just seems like a given, that's 10x.

XXXcoin is a perfect name for a porn coin, Wank is a terrible name - sounds like something a 15 year old would come up with. I agree about the red vs pink, girls like pink and aren't the main buyers of porn.

This coin has a WAY better name than Wank, and has a premine but a reasonable one (Wanker pm is 3/4 of existing coins!!!)
Anyway, this coin could really be big. Dev, have you signed up any online porn sites?

How do u know Wanker premined so many coins? Instamined or real premine?

That's the other problem the dev has made it hard to find out - you have to read the thread. Wank is doomed, I'm afraid.

Price right now is RIDICULOUSLY cheap for a coin with a purpose, with anon.

1651  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are speculators not investors on: June 30, 2014, 04:36:51 PM
Bitcoin is an experiment not an investment. You can be "emotionally invested" in it's success which is another metaphor.

Other then that your Bitcoins (the number that represents your balance in the bitcoin wallet) will never be an investment nor will it make you an investor.
That is true even if the experiment succeeds on all accords (whatever that may be). What I think about the probability of it's success is irrelevant for the question of whenever people following the buy & hold strategy are investors or not. If it succeeds they would be very good speculators but still no investors.

There's an excellent chance you will end up suicidal when 1 BTC becomes too pricey for the avg person to buy one.
I know how that feels, when I sold thousands of XC coin bought at 4k sat at 20k sat then watched helplessly as it climbed to 500k sats. Normally I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone, but with you I'll make an exception.
1652  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are speculators not investors on: June 29, 2014, 02:54:27 PM
So you want to see people with faith in something lose their money, this is funny to you?
You are a sad, sad man.
1653  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are speculators not investors on: June 29, 2014, 02:23:20 PM
ElectricMucus, why are you here? If I have a low opinion of something I can tell you the last place you will find me, wasting my time on a discussion forum of that thing.

u MAD bro?

Yes. I'm getting tired of clicking on all these new coins only to find out they offer nothing new. Way too much of my time is getting wasted trying to find a coin worth buying.
1655  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are speculators not investors on: June 28, 2014, 11:28:33 PM
Dude, get a freakin' life. Anytime you buy something in the hope it goes up in value you are investing.
I bought a nib Colt Python a few years ago for $2k, the same model is going for over $3k on GB. Did I invest in Colt the company? of course not, they stopped making them years ago. Did I make an investment? you bet your ass, and a good one.
1656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unmoderated XC thread on: June 28, 2014, 05:53:32 PM

there is no reason to take someone serious when comparing other coins to btc in equal ground. darkcoin, vericoin or even xc should worry about bitcoin add-on like dark wallet and blockchain coinjoin. like Greg Maxwell said there is no need for scam darkcoin or other altcoins, bitcoin itself can do all. once blockchain coinjoin or dark wallet is success with their anonymous coding then scam darkcoin is done. at this moment if you use sharedcoin(btc)+TOR then you would have much more anonomous then this scam darkcoin. there is no reason to use other altcoins or scam coins for anonymous transaction and all the smart people know this. i bet most people are here for quick pump and dump for all the altcoins
[/quote]

+1. All the idiotic comments about how XC, DRK, VRC, MRO etc are going to overtake BTC are just holders wanting to profit off noobs - either that or they really are that brainwashed.

Every altcoin = just a way to get free BTC through trading. The way that happens is through brainwashing other into believing it's going to be worth much more than you paid.

The Q & A does a great job of explaining what you aren't going to do and what you aren't good at and that you don't have much time, but...
WTF is the purpose of this coin?

Anonymity may be played out by now.

Played out if it's another centralized mixer. Maybe this one is the read deal? how about some details dev?
1659  Economy / Speculation / Re: Four Charts That Suggest Bitcoin Value Could Be At 10,000 USD Next Year on: June 28, 2014, 03:53:28 PM
I don't get who is going to keep buying these bitcoins to push the price that high.

Anyone and everyone who wants to make money?

You have those with faith buying/holding now. When the price shoots up, those who are watching and waiting for proof BTC is for real will buy. As news of BTC shooting up hits people who never gave it a second look will pile on, etc etc etc.

We had a taste of this in Dec, the problem was the infrastructure wasn't deep enough to support MASSIVE price growth. The next bubble won't be a bubble, it will be a price correction to reflect current adoption.

bought a few hundred on a lark in the 20k's, wish I had bought a few thousand - go Wanker!
