2061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / It's hard as hell to make good trades these days on: March 07, 2014, 03:29:11 AM
I remember in December and January when altcoins were so much easier to profit from. Now, nearly all coins are in a depression (prob because there are WAY too many now). You get a little pump that's nearly impossible to predict until it happens, then it crashes if you miss it by an hour. Maza and Aur were rare opportunities these days, coins just suck in general right now.
2062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / protoshares crash on: March 07, 2014, 01:50:16 AM
Anyone know why? seems to have crashed to a strong resistance point, think it's a good buy right now?
2063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auroracoin in free fall on: March 07, 2014, 01:25:17 AM
I don't know, it may still have some life left. Hit .025 for a couple hours today then shot up to .05 before settling to .04.
2064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Undervalued coins on: March 07, 2014, 01:20:00 AM
This may sound dumb and turn out to be completely wrong, but I think Flappy could easily increase 1 order of magnitude within the next month. Feel free to flame me and tell me why I'm wrong.
2065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Merge Mining Scrypt Coins - Get 4 times your hash power! DOGE/LTC/DGC/CAT/42 on: March 07, 2014, 12:59:11 AM
Huntercoin should be on top of the list of main chains. Its a coin that is grossly undervalued and I don't understand why.

I read that a lot here and it makes no sense. The market determines the price, and dictates what a coin is worth.
2066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MAZACOIN HITTING CRYPTSY TOMORROW MORNING!! KEEP VOTING!! THIRD PLACE NOW!!! on: March 07, 2014, 12:05:28 AM
What typically happens to a coin's value if anything the day it hits cryptsy?
2067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My own alt-coin - how and what should I do? on: March 06, 2014, 07:12:41 PM
Had no idea it was this cheap and easy, pretty soon we will have a billion coins.
How about this, chesthingcoin. Purpose - to get me rich, of course. Everything about it is like Ltecoin except there are 100 billion coins. Any interest before I plop down my $30?
Holy shit talk about buying worthless vapor, this whole scene is not going to exist next year at this rate.
2068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forecasting Altcoin "Daily Price Change" Winners and Losers on: March 06, 2014, 04:29:44 PM
What info did you use to predict the ultra jump if I may ask?
2069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 06, 2014, 02:11:01 AM
I don't give a shit about any of that, all I want to decide is whether aur pump this month has any legs left or is it dead?

patience.  liftoff is imminent.
If you're wrong, cover my losses? lol
2070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 06, 2014, 02:06:01 AM
I don't give a shit about any of that, all I want to decide is whether aur pump this month has any legs left or is it dead? I already figure it's done after the drop, at least for a good bit.
2071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 06, 2014, 01:57:00 AM
Wtf are you talking market cap for? I'm talking about price, you know - how much a coin goes for in btc?
2072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 06, 2014, 01:43:41 AM

That's what ive been trying to explain. Just let the whales shake weak hands, they are eating for the next pump and people that hold and/or buy back will benefit.

Also, what are you using to see the orders? In cryptsy, they aren't showing the complete order list in AUR for some reason..
[/quote]

So is this just intuition or do you have a compelling reason why you think this? sure looks like aur is going to sink into the abyss to me. But then I can't for the life of me understand how it shot to the same price as ltc, sat there for a couple days, then shot to .17. This coin has to set a new pump precedent, still can't believe those who saw a massive profit at .025 didn't cash out.
2073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I missed the Auracoin train, what's the next one? on: March 05, 2014, 01:13:51 AM
Those that pick apart maza and aurora for whatever reason don't get it. The reason they both took off is because they both hit a chord with the fundamental reason for this 'movement'. They both, whether it works or not, are an attempt to get people to use crypto in their real lives. This is the one and only reason for their early success.
The new copycat country coin developers will not understand that. They will just think the coin's symbolic attachment to a country is enough, and all of these will fail. I don't think the next big coin exists right now. Darkcoin will do well, but i sure as shit don't see it going 100x in value in a week or 2, does anyone here see that?
Look for a coin that strikes that chord that hits the basic purpose for crypto for the next big one, that's what I'm doing. If Auora or Maza could have made a noise when they arrived, you would have heard the sound of the mallet hitting the wood and the loud ringing of the bell.
2074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where can I get 1,000,000 coins? on: March 05, 2014, 12:19:43 AM
Flappycoin, buy at Cryptsy for a few bucks.
2075  Economy / Speculation / Re: TA 101 with MatTheCat. Critical Turning Point Ahead? on: March 04, 2014, 01:34:09 AM
Im not taking anything away from them, I know I would not have been able to hold $10 coins past $100 - no freakin way. I tip my hat to them, but there just ain't any answers to help us. If you truly believe $5k this year then buy the shit out of it. If you don't, flipping a fucking coin at any point is just as good as reading posts.
Fwiw, I don't trust this bust out. I'm not buying anytime soon, if it's $800 tomorrow so be it.

This can only be Ukraine situation.

Ukraine itself and the fear affecting the Russian economy.

The Ukraine withdrawal limit was announced only on Friday 28th, in which case the buying pressure today, was merely the fastest money to get out the country, or capital that was already on Bitstamp with much more in the wire to follow it.

I have just thrown all TA principles and caution out the window and have piled in on Bitstamp at $680...yep, it is down already. It might be down further by tomorrow, but that is the risk that I am taking.

I have become a HOLDER.

I gave up and bought back in myself. There goes all the profit I made buying in mid $400s selling high $500s. I swear I've got to be the worst trader ever, I'm sure I will wake up to $500 coins now, just because I bought of course. At least I haven't lost any money, I just haven't made any yet. I suck.
2076  Economy / Speculation / Re: URGENT NEWS - Warren Buffet declares Bitcoin as a BAD INVESTMENT on: March 03, 2014, 11:46:34 PM
LOL, top holdings:

Amex
bank of NY
GE (has big financial arm)
Goldman Sachs
Mastercard
USB
Wells Fargo

And as far as I remember, he's never been that capable of evaluating tech -- he's thin and often late on tech... only getting in when the company is a force...

This says it all, he's not in a position to be objective about crypto. I'd be more interested in Jimmy Buffet's opinion.

Matt, there aren't any answers here. This forum basically consists of early adopters holding tons of coins bought cheap laughing their asses off at newcomers like us. No one knows dick about what will happen next, ta is next to worthless, it's just great entertainment for the lucky few.
2079  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the thread where traders admit to making a net loss. on: March 03, 2014, 07:23:30 PM
I have a net loss...of fucks given!  Tongue

Those who have a net loss from trading won't be around long enough to post. They will lose it all or pull out when they realize they can't trade. Few will take the time to learn what they are doing wrong and fix it.
Net losses are nothing unusual and nothing to beat yourself up over. Everyone takes net losses sometimes, esp in a market as unpredictable as this one. So shove your "either you got it or you don't" bs up your ass.
2080  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats happening? on: March 03, 2014, 06:50:29 PM
The people on this forum are idiots. I include myself in this idiocy.
Bullshit, you called $850 against all logic, I'm the idiot for thinking you were an idiot. Not sure whether to buy back the coins I sold in the high $500s or risk total humiliation and buy them back at $800 later. FUCK.
