Other subject, just got a RX5700 reference model for fun and its actually quite decent. I paid 390$ cad and it came with Borderlands 3 which I wanted anyway, after minimal tweaking gets 56mhs and it can go higher but I had a crash or two so I dialed it back. Its using about 110-115watts core on gpuz so probably 150-160w total. I'd have to get time to test some memory straps but quick tweaking seems to work injecting them with Eliovp's amdtweakerxl. I wonder if anyone got it above 60. edit: Also I find it fun that since bitcointalk is indexed on google or something, I can search "9th bitcointalk" and b00m it pops up

ahhh winter, where profits dont matter and any revenue is a plus. Next spring might be a good time to switch out GPUs for Navis. So 5500 series will be 4GB ? Plus Intel late 2020 with 1080p GPUs I hear. Sounds like 1080p offering for gamers will be cheap and plentiful. About time. Really AMD should have a lineup based on your resolution. 1080p = cheap 4gb, 1440p = high end 8gb, 4k = enthusiast 12gb+, etc. With an intermediary high fps version for each resolution, so 1080p 144hz = beefed 4gb. In other news, there are many cheap RX570/580s models on local listings, mining only version nvidias on alibaba/ebay for sale. I myself sold my 1060s and 1070s (i only had a few). keeping RX models since they are 35% electricity cost vs revenue and has a very low mh/$ resale value vs nvidia. keeping 1080tis since they probably wont depreciate much for another year I hope. I look at elec cost/total revenue and $/mhs metrics. I dont see anything worth buying except for more RX570s 8GB under 100$ but I dont really want to do that because another factor is total space/amps I have. More RX = less total hashrate possible for given amps. But then again, I could sell them in 6 months and switch to 5500s or something and recoup pretty much the same amount of $. Meanwhile if you want to clean up your rigs, usb risers, motherboards and rig frames are dirt, dirt, cheap right now. I havent gotten any CPUs to mine yet, RandomX is a spot of sunshine in this gloomy period. Happy mining

even if there was spam, it still would be art I suppose. I like this contest, I may put all my hours watching Bob Ross to good use

I do not really agree. That 500mhs ASIC sells about what 2500 USD. Who cares about efficiency if you pay 2-4cents USD or something. With 2500USD you can get approx 800mhs or so with 570s (+- depending on what you pay for stuff but still). So its not the death of GPUs but it doesnt help profitability thats for sure.

I guess nicehash fixed their shit, I havent seen another worker error in a while. I see 40-50% cpu usage on G4400 dual core for 6 1080tis. 70% seems high on a quad core if on all cores

Nah i dont think it was before your time, just a smaller exchange with a nice trollbox. Ghash...I remember them. I guess they quit a year or so before crypto started to take off again. A lot of coin was mined there. For some nostalgia https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265277.0

Hey.......Im still owed about half a btc just randomly remembered

yeah thats pretty much my .bat file setup. I've increased the timeout value a bit (it was 1), see if that helps ill let you know
|
|

now that the old platform is gone, profitability seems to have gone up so back to normal I suppose

|

I think nicehash groups all your addies with your email address that you used to sign up with. As long as your email is the same for old vs new version it should be transfered. For the repayment....the remaining 12 or so % left to be paid out would probably take a year...They want you to keep mining there To be honest the new platform isnt bad, I figure they want to be an all stop shop - mining, trading, renting. meh. Kinda like Coinex in 2013 where it was an exchange, but they had their own mining pools. Of course they ran with the money or got hacked eventually

I put a gpu on nicehash since they still owe me a little coin from the hack a while ago, and got "worker not authorized". Miniz tries to restart the gpus and connection but gets stuck. If I manually close miniz and restart it, it connects. A workaround could be to have miniz shut down when it receives that error so the goto loop in the .bat file could restart the miniz ? If you need I could post a screenshot, i remember getting this error back in the early days of Zcash

Thanks for the update, looking forward to more stable connections Although as people have said before a :start // goto start in the .bat file works wonders
