1061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [CROWDFUND] LEARN-EUM | Educational Platform for Kids and Teachers on: July 29, 2017, 02:02:21 AM
Yeah i'd like to address all your valid concerns, this is a pre-ann...i'm not looking to raise a lot of money lol.  This is just brain storming in a way, seeing what people think.  Last poster said he would of loved to have this in school, well, so would have I.  Plus we get to brainwash the kids with bitcoin real early Smiley  All part of taking over the world ahem, kidding.  For all the website, translations and bounties, please wait for the real ANN, it'll take a month about.

The amounts of money needed for this are quite small - in fact - one poster said I should not ask for money, but ask for donations.  well I would, but lets face it, no one even donates for good mining software anyway...so who would donate for this - unless people would like to donate time and effort, that is cool.  I thought since users have an "expectation" of profit in all things related crypto, that I could incorporate that in this little project, and have the project re-buy the tokens hopefully at a higher price once things roll out.  Anyways, as for what this really is - this is no different than say a teacher giving stickers out to the kids, and giving "prizes" to the kids with the most stickers at the end of the school year.  Each teacher has their "tricks" to keep the kids interested.

I dont expect to make a dime out of this, unless I get a government to give me a huge grant to roll out crypto wallets to all schools, and then I could divert a few millions hahaha.  Thanks to all in any case, even negative comments are welcome.

This is a PRE-ANN, so work in progress.  The idea is to get community suggestions and participation while I work on the project/website/etc.  By end of August a proper ANN should be available.

edit:  Translation will be when the proper ANN is made Smiley

1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [PRE-ANN] [CROWDFUND] LEARN-EUM | Educational Platform for Kids and Teachers on: July 28, 2017, 05:51:13 PM

MISSION STATEMENT: LEARN-EUM aims to promote and encourage student motivation, focus and learning.  It is a free, simple and easy to use tool for teachers and parents to reward students with tokens for work and effort.

Twitter / Facebook / Contact / Website

ABOUT

The LEARN-EUM Foundation is a Canadian based initiative that will take blockchain technology to the classroom with real world applications.  LEARN-EUM puts the power of cryptocurrency in the hands of teachers and parents to encourage students to perform better and to get motivated.  The more students are motivated to go to class and participate, the more they learn.  The more students are integrated in the learning process, the more they succeed.  Students receive LEARN-EUM by showing effort, good grades or completing tasks, and can redeem them for participation in contests, extracurricular activities or class privileges and rewards.  There is no limit to the uses of LEARN-EUM, the teachers and parents set the rules and distribute the tokens according to their own adaptation of the concept.

LEARN-EUM is based on the Ethereum token technology, and will be deployed with a PC/MAC and Android/IOS user friendly wallet.  When a teacher registers its classroom online, tokens are delivered completely free to the wallet.  Then the teachers are free to distribute the tokens, and set rules for redemption at will.  Students can also trade tokens between themselves easily through QR code scanning on smartphones.  Parents are encouraged to watch the progression in the classroom by viewing the personalized and user friendly blockchain explorer.

There are many implementation examples that can benefit students and teachers alike.  Students can be rewarded for physical exercise with tokens, for example by walking to school and participating in sports and activities.

TOKEN LIFE CYCLE

All Donators to the project are given tokens and they can be traded.  There is a fixed number of tokens created.  When a classroom or organization signs up to the program, a number of tokens are given to the main wallet - the teacher wallet of the classroom for example.  Those tokens are purchased on exchanges from the pool of available tokens from the foundations funds.  These funds include all initial donations, returns on its capital and its revenue stream.  Once the project becomes popular, the foundations funds will go down.  The free nature of the project will be maintained by advertisements and sponsorship deals in-bedded in the wallets, website and blockchain explorer.  These will create a revenue stream which will keep the project alive.

Listen...Its not a good idea to use a trademarked brand/existing company for the ICO.  Its clearly fraud.  You have to be more subtle.  Like use Expressium token or some dumb name like that.  people will love it.  but not something you can get sued on.  plus it removes credibility from the project, sorry.
1066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: July 28, 2017, 02:06:28 AM
Bittrex has said that they will credit bcc 1:1 with btc and have a market for bcc I think.  then they will close the BCC market after a little while and that will be all.  bcc is simply an altcoin with an airdrop.

Speaking of which, totally unrelated, but I just tested your miner on a seperate rig and found that it has quite noticeable power fluctuations.  any ideas ?

Check my previous post on p.85. I managed to get almost straight power line.

Thanks a lot for the tip, yeah tried on auto seems to be much better.
1068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Signatum - New Algorithm - Fair Launch - No Premine - Cryptopia on: July 27, 2017, 11:45:21 PM
People, I'm really tired replying PMs with the same content - "bla-bla-bla, it's a virus, gimme source, etc.". I really thought to stick to virus-developement, so it won't blaming for nothing as it happens now.

Think it's clear for everybody that mine and sp's miners have the same opensource base, small difference in code tuning and architecture (sp's 64-bit).

Please, don't PM if you want to blame me, do it in the thread, or open a new thread for abuse, I miss really interesting messages in that mess.

Thank you for understanding.

Crazy to think there is 8-9 million worth of gear mining SIGT of all coins.  The great altcoin crash of 20xx (insert date poloniex is kill) will be epic.  Hopefully people put those GPUs on folding or something worthwhile to society after.

PPL SMART MINERS have been mining with a profit on gpu's since 2010.

2017 7 years and counting...

I just made a little correction ;-)

hehehehe for sure, I just recently sold my 5870s who were still pulling a profit, but needed the electricity.  Im biased, I want to buy cheap GPU`s

2 things.  Exchange is good, but it is very early for this coin.  if people sell their coins - they should be banned from airdrops, i think?  And second thing:  Wolf0. ?  wtf lol, sounds familiar to a very well known forum member...

Its an .exe installer.  check for viruses or whatnot, I can only say I did not tamper with the installer, it is, As I had it on my old HD.  its like version 0.8.6.3.
1074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: July 26, 2017, 04:07:05 PM
Been going crazy why my eth share rate was down for the last 3days. Going nuts trying to find out what's wrong. Finally tried to force my miner to mine on ethermine which is my fail over. It turns out miner was fine. MPH just increased difficulty by a big margin and its causing very erratic share rates and very bad for smaller rigs like mine.

I would like to request that difficulty be lowered to its precious settings so smaller rigs like mine would not be forced off the pool. Mining in ethermine reminded me of how MPH was before difficulty was increase 2x. I like MPH and would like to stay but may need to leave if pool difficulty keeps rising.

yeah reported hashrate is a bummer - but - to compare use your 24 hours income and compare with whattomine - fees, or do your own calculation.  difficulty does not move as much now so it should be close.  then go to "blocks" and see luck for the last 24 hours, adjust for that % and you should get really close to what you should get if luck is 100%.  tell us your results, I find repoted hashrate to be erratic but 24hour credit seems to be okay...at least compared to all other eth pools i've been on.
1075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: July 26, 2017, 02:50:14 AM
You guys realize that the group buy spam messages for sp mod are just the guy either selling his copy or just taking the money.  There is no way any of that money is going to SP.
1076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: July 26, 2017, 12:27:15 AM
You can contact EVGA and ask for cables.  Just make sure your product is registered.  If you are nice they should offer to send you some cables for free.  they sent me two molex cables for free a while back, but I dont know if they only give certain cables.
1077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: July 25, 2017, 01:42:54 AM
Im sure this has been asked before...if fact I remember something to that effect..but anyways.  About the static diff on skein.  What number of shares per minute should we be striving for ?  What happens in practice if we send too many shares to the pool ?  Or does it matter that much, Idk much about my bandwidth but the pool certainly does I think.
1078  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 1hash pool just mined an invalid block again on: July 24, 2017, 08:30:30 PM
Pools can mine whatever or however the fuck they please. That's the freedom nature of Bitcoin.

Yup damn right.  They are free to mine invalid blocks Smiley  The rest of the network also has freedom to say nope.  but hey at least it makes things interesting.

wow staking just exploded, now time to stake is about 32 days hahahahaha ah well.  Get ready for the next airdrop !  Of course devs will find a way to profit, whether its instamine, premine, ICO, staking, etc...
1080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: July 24, 2017, 02:46:19 PM
Fire damage...well to start off 1390 watts is your MAX on a 15A line.  80% of load, means 12A max capacity maximum.  that is electric code and standard practice for continuous operation.  For the PSU, 750w at the wall is fine on a 850w, considering a EVGA gold PSU is quality, and can hold that load for years.  I dont have any G3 units though, maybe check JohnyGuru to see if they are as good/comparable to the G2 line.  I have some 1000GQ EVGA that run 900w at the wall and they are perfectly fine.  5-7 year warranty so no worries.  The only thing is that you are less efficient - So on 240v it may be max efficiency 92% - 60% load, but at 90% load you are at 87% efficiency, etc.  Some cheaper PSU cannot do this and will overheat/blow capacitors, fire hazard.  In any case, make sure your equipment, if fire there is, is not close to things that can catch on fire if possible.  Like OP, who's rigs are surrounded by wood, its better to be on the safe side Smiley  With RX fire hazard isnt a big problem, but before, when gpu's drew 350-400 watts or something with shoddy risers, a lot of people were dumb and "burned" their rigs down.
