well im gonna without shame plug my website here, since its made for noobs pretty much (and news on miners, etc.). Basically, you need to modify the bios of your GPU, which is pretty easy. Then you must increase the memory clock, and underclock / undervolt the cards. its trial and error, see what is stable, see what you like. you'll need polaris bios editor, atiwinflash, and msi afterburner. I reckon thats the gist of it, the easiest and most effective way.

tell us more about how you got that 580...

polaris bios editor, change the mem timings, flash with atiwinflash. no need to ask for a bios. do it yourself, its quite easy but do it right though, it could mess up your card if you are really stupid. then use msi afterburner, lower core voltage, maybe lower core clock, increase memory clock and that's and you'll get good results off the bat.

Can risers with SATA connectors handle ETH+Dcr power use at default (no underclocking)? I have power reserves, but afraid that risers might give up.
Anybody with sapphire Nitro 470RX 4gb, 8gb and/or MSI RX 470 4gb gaming X ON RISERS doing this double mining at the default power?
470s should be fine, 480s might get hot (assuming your talking about adapters). dont put more than 2 per cable. run it, then after a few minutes, check if the wires are hot. check a few times over the first day just to be sure. if they arent hot, you are good. if they are really warm, then you need to change your setup

god damn nicehash. rofl. Anyways, I vote you get some money for your work. open source and all is fun, but if you are the only one doing god's work (i know you arent the only one, but pretty much)...then...do it like claymore. based on sgminer, which a lot of people like the interface better anyways. my2cents. got to have the same speed at least though

Now I just need a better CryptoNote CPU miner without -nofee option to speep up XMR-mining.
+1 on this lol Dont really want to put this on claymores thread, but you could try this one out. Im not mining with my CPU on xmr so idk but its good to try all options. http://www.cryptominingtalk.com/xmr-stak-cpu-miner/

reduce mem clocks on those gpu's that have many incorrect shares. just calculate the % of incorrect shares vs real shares and you'll see you lose a lot of hashrate.

About that molex thing....I have just one H97 that demands it at boot, and others that do not. doesnt change anything to have one molex connector on it, as far as I can tell, it doesnt really draw much power at all. Been running over a year like this, no problemo.

inb4 the next generation is IKEA style assemble your rig Which isn't that bad of an idea. Yeah I didn't get that free miner either. Damn 28 PandaMiners, that is some serious coin.

These are names I have not heard in a long time. Shame Shame Shame

assembler kernels, well shit just got real to the guy wanting to return his card, dont say your were crypto mining, it just complicates things. just say you game a lot. have you tried bringing the voltage up a little bit ? using it directly in a 16x slot ? bringing the core clock down a bit ?

|

thats very good, but watch out for invalid shares/memory errors though

easy way to undervolt, is just use msi afterburner. of course change the mem straps for higher speeds first though. Just look at your voltage in the monitor window, and drop that baby down as much as you can. if it crashes, no biggie, just bring it a little higher. changing the core clock will change the .states so the voltage will be different and will have to be played with again.

well watts to hash and even price ratio, I'd say go for 470s honestly. edit: whatever is on a good sale in any case

Seems I almost had one... I did click on buy, seems in stock, I did click on the BTC payment button and OUT OF STOCK!
Actually, I dont believe you can sell 500 units within 45 sec. Impossible.
i tried less than 10 sec out of stock...waiting someone cancel an hour later but nothing..this is crazy. I am thinking about mining with GPU rigs.. well GPU rigs, will 1 - be less expensive and 2 - more fun. IMO pandaminer is great for datacenter, or larger farms where the owners are lazy Or you, know, its quite convienient too, gpu rigs can be...fragile. if it works dont touch it is my motto. edit: of course I touch it, to save a few watts, more hash, then it crashes and i have to find perfect settings again. fun.

I'm going to have to chip in here about the msi armor. Its actually a great card for mining. Now i'm talking about the 470 4g as I dont have any armor 480s, but still should be similar.
So you get anywhere between 27-28.5 mhs with your memory clock between 1925 and 2025. Core clock is down to 1050 to 1125 depending on the card. Voltage is way down, around 0.88v should be pretty stable (again, this depends on each individual card).
So DDU your rig. Install 16.11.x drivers as an example. Then Polaris Bios Editor. Open it, and change your memory straps from 1500mhz, or 1625mhz, all the way up to the max. save the original (dont forget). flash bios with atiwinflash. Reboot. Install msi afterburner, set core clocks and memory clock, voltage. Reboot again (important). Run claymore. And you should get good results. This applies to hynix and samsung, maybe elpida but i havent done elpida memory in a little while, so i dont know if you can change it with polaris bios editor. Anyways its pretty straight forward, win10. set virtual mem to over 20gigs. dual mining pascal, set -16 or something like that. have fun and im not responsible for your bricked cards, neither am I for spilled beer on rigs.

Well this is interesting. Got to hand it to pandaminer to want to get involved in the community. I'd love to review one of your miners, I'd also post it on my website, cryptominingtalk.com Negative points about me are that I always recommend never to buy pre-sales, unless its like a bitmain "pre sale" where it justs takes a little while to ship. On a personal note, I don't think I would buy a pandaminer - I'd rather build my own - and I would have to pay fees when importing (canada) - BUT - for a lot of people the building and tinkering is actually the scary part, so its a good buy then. In any case, good luck with the sales guys

Thanks again, yeah a lot of original rigs, hope it helped inspire a few home miners at least. Til next time,
edit: going to lock the thread, happy mining to you all.
