Sorry to bring up an old topic but I am having issues I keep getting the red image proxy invalid image

Sometimes you have to wait a few moments before it is recognized by Bitcointalk.
Alternatively, you can link to the image instead so those who want to see it will simply click it.
742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: spam satoshi's on: July 14, 2014, 03:42:11 PM
Lol they even use now satoshi to advertise their sites.
Well thats a good move but in the other hand it also give negative vibes to their site.
People will think that the site who send a message using satoshi is spam and the result they will avoid using that site. Roll Eyes

wait people advertise this way? wtf lol.

I never knew this... hahah. But how effective is that advertising? 0% turn over? lol.

probably like 0.01% but that's only 10 000 satoshis

some 0.06$ per sign up then

still worth it Cheesy

And gambling sites are those who do this the most, so 0.06$ to get a customer who might lose hundreds on their site is definitely worth it!

yeah, but how much time does it take to send 10 000 transactions? Cheesy

Surely the process is automated to send to random adresses found in the blockchain.

hmm

I would want to try that but I'm afraid of being marked as a spammer and no one wanting to join the website Cheesy

There's no "public directories of scammers" Tongue
Really, this should not be a problem. Most people will simple ignore or forget about your website, and won't refrain from joining it in a latter date simply because they received a satoshi from you. It should be worth it for the people who will actually join it because of the publicity Smiley

patientons 2 ans jusqu'à la réduction du nombre bitcoin par bloc à 12.5 au lieu de 25 actuellement.
En principe, cela devrait se traduire par une augmentation de la demande. Enfin , il me semble  Grin

745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: July 14, 2014, 03:24:03 PM
Welcome to the club Nwfella.

Make sure to watch and like and spread around the new GRC explainer video.

Love the concept behind this coin alot.  Useful application of all this computation power...what a concept.

Submitted my vote on Cryptsy to get GRC added.  Still quite a ways behind ALN, MED, and XRP but what the hell. Smiley

really good video.

sadly i think that right now people look only for profit in the cryptovalue's world Sad

Well, it is a currency, and nobody would want to lose the purchasing power or hashpower they invested in a coin.
However, I do believe Gridcoin could be profitable in the long-term. It has the potential to replace XPM as the best coin which contributes to science.

747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99,9% ARE SHITCOINS - so don't waste your time or money on: July 14, 2014, 03:17:20 PM
Don't waste your money or time in all the shitcoins..
- 415 Altcoins on http://coinmarketcap.com.. Thats a lot...?
- only bitcoin and litecoin are still known in public.. Why? Because it's just a copy / shit
- a lot of devs left... Some with a lot of money

My opinion:
Bitcoin will be the biggest, if it grows...

Is it?

At least 95% should be worthless, sure. But it's still worth doing research to find the 5% who aren't, since they have the chance of being considerably more profitable than Bitcoin. Coins with an active and legit communities are not that hard to spot.
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: heap of alts on: July 14, 2014, 03:15:01 PM
Monopolies are awful. The altcoins are a great way to make the cryptocurrency ecosystem more fair, since people have a plethora of coins to choose from, all with different communities, values, and technologies. Also, the profit potentials are quite higher with them, when investing in a legit altcoin.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else have a feeling NXT is about to explode? on: July 14, 2014, 03:12:27 PM
The decentralized exchange is neat, however, because of coloured coins, there is few reasons to hold NXT.

Imho, the distribution is still not good enough to sustain an higher market-cap than what it has now.
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.7 Available on: July 14, 2014, 03:08:47 PM
Hustler.com accepts Dogecoin; 1.8 MegaDoges for a lifetime membership!

http://imgur.com/1LGcWeV

Is this restricted by user location or was it another prank?
I can't get any options to pay in doge no matter what.

Can't go back to the website since I'm at work, but I did see the option available on my browser, so it's not a prank.
They use (used?) GoCoin for payment processing.

Bad publicity is still better than no publicity, especially considering the huge amount of websites related to cryptocurrencies.
752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Would it be better if I buy a asic scrypt miner or cloud mining? on: July 14, 2014, 03:04:43 PM
Don't do cloud mining.  Honestly it doesn't help the network in any way (doesn't decentralize mining), it doesn't make you a profit, it doesn't really teach you much about mining or hardware.  All it is good for is graphs and eye candy interfaces.  If you cloud mine you just end up making the cloud mining company richer.

Either buy mining equipment and hope for a profit (most likely it will a loss) or buy your coins directly and help support crypto by supporting crypto businesses or making your own.

I mined back in 2011 onwards, I don't understand what the fascination is with mining now - the money is gone.

This.

Mining should not be considered as an investment, since even if the coin's value increases, the reward will always be less than if you directly bought the coin. That's because the mining companies can get their equipment and electricity at a fraction of the price you would pay, thus all the profits will go to them and none are left for the small miners.

Mining is still important, though, if there's a PoW coin you want to support; but cloud mining is not a good way to do that since you have to trust an anonymous third party with your equipment.
753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where should i invest 1 btc ? on: July 14, 2014, 02:40:07 PM
It would be wise to keep the majority of it in cold storage. Then use a small percentage of it to learn how to trade (a learning period with a small amount is necessary, as almost everyone loses when starting trading). Also, you could spend some time doing research on altcoins, and try to spot those who have the most active community; a coin's technology is worthless in cryptocurrencies economies.
754  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pick my next raffle giveaway on: July 14, 2014, 02:38:04 PM
My first giveaway went great, and my 2nd is on it's way.  I want to try and do one raffle a month, to start. What should I raffle off next? If you choose "other" please be sure to post your idea.

If this will happen in this community, ASIC miners would be a great idea, bound to make anybody here happy.
755  Other / Off-topic / Re: what if the 1% succeeded on: July 14, 2014, 02:37:17 PM
If the situation was this problematic, surely a revolution would happen. No police would want to work for the 1% if even themselves are starving.

Plus, the 1% would not have much power if the other 99% are low-life slaves; they need a strong society in order to have the power they crave.

So how does this month work? Do we have to send a PM or is it auto?

Semi-auto. No PM, but you need to fill a form to claim payment.

So we should fill it now?

Pay day is on the 17th each month, so I guess the general consensus is to fill it out then and wait for the coins to roll in.

It is also accepted to fill it on the 16th, then expect to receive payment about two days later.
757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PesetaCoin][PTC] Wallet With FIAT & Payment GateWay now Online on: July 11, 2014, 02:23:03 PM
the coin looks like hot these days, why?

Its huge hashrate, and thus the fact that it's one of the most secure coin, probably convinced a few investors to buy it Smiley
758  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: July 11, 2014, 02:15:56 PM
If you only have bitcoins for investment then you bought them from the wrong reasons.

Problem is mostly everyone here expecting bitcoin price to sky-rock.

One of the biggest hurdles for BTC/Cryptos will be ridding itself of people like that IMO, it's truly ruining the concept.

why?

that's good

when people believe the coin will skyrocket
they hold
isn't that good for the price?

The reason it has any value is because it can be accepted and used a currency legally in some areas.  If Litecoin were to be accepted by Amazon tomorrow it's price would shoot up even though the coin's difficulty and distribution stay the same.

It's safe to say though that it's difficulty would skyrocket almost instantly if it's price would shoot up. Litecoin would drain hashpower from all the other scrypt coins, and thousands of scrypt asics would be bought as it would be profitable again to mine.

Stunna won't confirm it manually he will just add you to the list so newbies stop asking that and spamming it here!
Just read OP!!!!
to be fair, stunna managed this change extreme lousy and still not improved it. So of course everyone will aks here and pm stunna about that... and stunna complaints that he has no time to answer all the pms -.-
Again, a extreme lousy management of this campaign.

Before that change was made, there was no confirmation either when someone was enrolled. I don't see how it is any worse.
760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I like doing bitcoin trading to earn money on: July 11, 2014, 01:56:54 PM
Day trading has close to 100% failure rate.

I would not say 100 percent.  Make informed decisions, and most of all don't go all in to one coin.   And keep some in BTC and well known Scrypt coins.   There is great profit to be had on alt coins but don't just throw money at it and assume instant profit.  And do it slow learn and don't just jump in with all your coins at once.

People who rush into day trading are usually the impatient type. Most will not survive the first year while the learning curve is well longer than a year.

When being patient and doing a lot of research before buying, and keeping your emotions out of your trading, it really isn't that hard.
If you never sell below the price you bought at, and keep your eyes open to sell on pumps, profits are to be expected. That is if you are modest and consider 10% profits as good; many seem relunctant to sell under 100%.
