Prepare for an influx of Uptown.BT refugess looking for a new campaign!

It pays to stay loyal people.

For every new and untrusted campaign that end up paying like Ritz, there are two others which end up being scams.

It's definitely worth having a 20% lower salary in exchange for the peace of mind of being sure you will be paid.

It looks like the Cryptsy MN1 and MN2 contracts have a ROI of ~200 days (without considering the returns getting lower over time). Although it's still better than buying right when they are announced.

Why would someone not consider that the returns will get lower over time? It's actually the most important fact to consider about these contracts.
The profit made from these will almost certainly drop by 50% every two months, which makes a positive ROI impossible.

So great to see pandas grow Smiley

grow? Isn´t PND falling? 0.00000104. The best was 0.00000145 the last months.
Most alts are doing poorly in the markets at the moment. The Bitcoin auction and LTC drama with Canada screwed up everything.

LTC drama with Canada? I seem to have missed this.

Could you please provide a link?
It wasn't LTC exclusively. They passed some regulations on all cryptos. It's nothing horrible but people panicked and the market is recovering from that.
http://blogs.wsj.com/riskandcompliance/2014/06/23/canada-enacts-bitcoin-regulations/

Thanks for the link!

It doesn't seem so negative.. Cryptocurrencies being officially recognized as a legal mean of trade by having laws attached to it has had good long-term effects on the market in past. But speculators will speculate I guess Wink

Kiss Grin

You add so much to the community!
Please stay around and learn a larger vocabulary....

Well at least it was positive, and less tiring than the handful of trolls that Ðogecoin attracts for some reason Tongue
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happening with DOGE? on: July 08, 2014, 06:41:35 PM
Doh. It was worth a try...

Lets speculate the price. I say DOGE will hit a minimum of 50 sat before DOGEmas and a 100 sat in next summer.
I sell half at 50-60 to cover my investment and half will be kept on free ride to 100.

This depends on BTC's price.
Imho, since Dogecoin attracts different kind of investors than Bitcoin, I have the impression that its value is more tied to fiat (especially CNY on bter).

If it is so, Dogecoin would profit considerably relative to BTC if a bitcoin is still overvalued (which I have the impression it is, considering that the rate of inflation is still so high).

I'd bet a few Ð on Dogecoin getting to 200 satoshi by winter and Bitcoin falling between 400 and 500$

Using chrome too and no problem so far other then the VGA spam.

VGA? I use chrome and get no kind of spam, especially with adblock installed.
807  Economy / Securities / Re: [Pon3 Mining] Scrypt/BTC Hybrid Year Long Mining Operation IPO on: July 08, 2014, 06:37:11 PM
Welp, looks like Scrypt-N is dead too.  Keeping an eye out for any new algo that would bring in some profit.

Is there no profit to be made from X11 or X13?
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happening with DOGE? on: July 08, 2014, 01:51:42 PM
Doge is nothing but just a clone, every clone die someday.

How is it a clone?

No other coin has the same fast mining distribution, and it was one of the first coin with a 1 minute block time, and it's the only one which has it's 5 Billion coins perputual inflation.

Built on the Litecoin code, yes, but it's not a clone.

firefox, google chrome, other?

I have no script with firefox, but it is kind of annoying because even if you 'allow all' there seems to be a problem loading some websites such as spotify.com web player.

The built-in option to disable Javascrypt on Google Chrome works quite well, and when you're on trusted sites you just have to click a button to activate scrypts again and it will memorize the setting.

Looks like this project is about half a cunt-hair away from being delisted on crypto::stocks.  Currently grey listing :/

It has been that way since February, if I remember correctly.

1 doge = 1 doge

Doge was never intended to be an investment vehicle. It's true value is in it's community.

By the devs, maybe. But every single reddit thread contains people assuring each other that they think it will turn into a good investment. Like 99% of altcoins, the price is supported by people who think it will be the next bitcoin.

The defining feature of the dogecoin community is that there is a collective delusion that nobody cares about the price. Once that's gone, the coin is no different from Auroracoin.

But DODGE had much NASCAR.

And bobsled team. Wink

And some positive news about litteraly sending Dogecoin to the moon for the lunar rover races! Cheesy

It's a shame only 100 were available Cry

While it's true that internet is a nuisance to my productivity in "real-world" occupations, I feel that the advantages it brings by allowing one to be connected to world-wide communities and up-to-date with so much information and knowledge makes it worthwhile.
815  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your favourite candy? on: July 07, 2014, 02:53:48 PM
In Japan, there are many kinds of candies which you have to assemble yourself; they are quite fascinating Cheesy

These packs are sold in most grocery stores, which contains several powders you can mix with water to make gummies, often of specific shape.

Like that one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGIoH0LaEKI

It's true that most people who bought Dogecoin care about the price; nobody would want to lose value on their investment.

However, the main difference between it and Auroracoin and most other coin is that the price is not the only thing which is important. Even if the value would drop further, hanging on /r/dogecoin would still continue to be fun, and tipping would go on too.
817  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptostocks - BTC,DVC,LTC denominated Stock Exchange/Crowdfunding Platform on: July 07, 2014, 02:48:50 PM
I would really like to know why its a trade stop,  Just another company I can kiss my btc goodbye I guess.  No explanation?

This is just me speculating. But with the hosting/domain offline, I assume CS are unable to contact the issuer, and thus have no alternative but to put a tradestop in place.

Even when the domain was up, they would not answer their e-mails.
It's a shame, since they seemed quite transparent in the first two months, with graph showing exactly what their investments were.

Yup once the raised the IPO flag again though there wasn't much we could do as you can't sell out.  As they had almost 100 shares of Cryptsy shouldn't cryptostocks be using those to partially reimburse investors.

They probably sold all of them when they decided to run away :/

I believe the small dividend from June 4 was Cryptostocks refunding share-holders with what was left in their account.
818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to best invest in bitcoins? on: July 07, 2014, 02:45:40 PM
I'd say buy some now to hold but also keep some money ready to buy if ever the price drops.
On the side, you could try day trading altcoins and then convert your profits to BTC.
Day trading is risky though, so always use spare funds you can afford to lose.

When starting day-trading, it is almost impossible not to lose money. But it gets easier with experience.
The key is to not consider your emotions in your trading decisions.

I only use blockchain for now. I'm not that techie so how can i make mine secure?

Enable 2FA, use a long password never used before on other sites, download download any suspicious programs and email attachments, etc.

+1
Enable 2FA not only on your Blockchain account but also on your e-mail address. Especially if you've kept your wallet back-up on it (the e-mail blockchain sends when you register.)

Both gmail and hotmail make that easy, and you can configure it so you won't have to use 2FA on your main computers, so you might not even notice it's there.

For the first time I'm actually doing my best to meet the requirements in this sig program!

Just a quick question: What happens if someone ranks up mid program. If I have 20 posts and become a full member, are the rest of my posts calculated at that rank? Or do I have to stick with member rates until the end of the month?

If you rank up mid campaign, you get paid for your new rank the entire month.  Just remember to change your sig to match your new rank.

How long does it take you to rank up? Are there any page that tells you how much activity / posts you need?

Here is a link to how it works: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.msg2513302#msg2513302

As long as you are a regular poster, your activity # goes up 14 points every 2 weeks.

At least thats how I think it works, it can get a little confusing.

Basically if you are active within each two week period, your activity points will go up 14 points at the end of each two weeks.   If all you really care about is the activity points, you could theoretically just come on an post on the 14th day each time, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose of being on this forum

Actually, to get the maximum amount of activity point you'd need to post at least 14 times in each 14 day period.
By doing your method, the person would only accumulate one activity point.
