601  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: May 01, 2017, 07:32:10 AM
I think that this topic is getting ridiculous. People hate religions because they have their own reason. I also dont believe at them that they dont believe in God of course they do before yet their fate lessen but deep inside they are still hoping

no seriously, I don't believe any gods exist, or ever existed

If a god exists, it is an utter failure

God cannot even get people to believe he/she exists... that's a failure

If any god played an active role in manipulating events on earth it would be obvious to everyone, and we would all believe in that god

What god creates Hitler, mosquitoes, malaria, aids, and child cancer? (to name a few)

There is no reason to believe any god exists, and many reasons to believe no gods exist

Yet, you are so far above the next most intelligent animal (chimp, dolphin), that you are a god with regard to them.

Yet, you are so ignorant regarding the knowledge and intelligence behind and within the universe, that God is way greater than you.

You failed to address his point entirely but just did what you always do
when you have no rebuttal, deflect and make some retarded "yet....bla bla" statement... in this particular case, proclaiming how
great your imaginary god is and how ignorant we all are.
Your arrogance shines and its people like you that make atheists hate religion. Id be willing to
bet even a lot of your fellow believers find many of your posts rather off-putting.

Moloch's starting point is to say that he DOESN'T believe that gods exist. His first words, above, are, "no seriously, I don't believe any gods exist, or ever existed." He knows he is lying when he says this, because he knows for a fact that he hasn't checked out every spot on earth and in the universe to see if God exists there or not. Because of this, he knows that God might exist somewhere he hasn't checked.

Since this is what his whole post is based on, and since he is entirely aware that he doesn't know if God exists or not, his whole post is a lie. There isn't much of a way to respond to lies without accepting them as though they were truth in the mind of the speaker of those lies. In this case, Moloch (and all so-called atheists) absolutely know that God might exist. Atheism is a total lie for them, and they know it.

Once Moloch wants to start getting truthful and ask his questions, or make his points, from the standpoint that God might exist, then maybe we can start talking to what he says.

That was actually my first impression with regards to his  statements. I maybe wrong but i am also feeling the same way that they are actually arrogant. You dont have to see things in order for you to believed it. Tho i know the feeling of hating a religion so i cant personally blame them

I feel like I gave several strong reasons to doubt the existence of any god, and they were completely ignored

1) God cannot even get people to believe he/she exists... that's a failure
2) If any god played an active role in manipulating events on earth it would be obvious to everyone
3) What god creates Hitler, mosquitoes, malaria, aids, and child cancer? (to name a few)

This is not specific to any religion, like:

4) It is a contradiction for an omnibenevolent god to murder innocent children and animals (10th plague of Egypt)
5) It is a contradiction for an omnibenevolent god to create a place like hell and send 90% of souls there

Don't reply to my post just to trash talk me with personal attacks and ignore the points I make... BADlogic

Stop acting like a petulant child and have an actual debate... or just fuck off and die (please do the latter)

Arguing on the internet is like running in The Special Olympics:
Even if you win, you're still retarded

Apologies to any actual handicapped kids reading this

Do you believe in god? If you do, why do you believe? (give a few reasons)

I do believed in God of course, and the reason why is such as follows:

- He created earth and all planet in the universe.
- He created all nature lives on earth
- He created all creatures animals for the land, sea, and under the ground
- Lastly, He created Human or us.

And many others, why I believed in God. Smiley

Sounds like you nearly made it half-way through the first chapter of the first book of the bible...

Congrats?

Hollar back if you make it past Leviticus

If there was any evidence at all... for any god whatsoever... we would not only believe in god, but we would all believe in the same god

So long as there exists more than one religion, you can rest assured they are all wrong
As you said, your personal religion as expressed above, is wrong.

All religions are correct, it's just that each culture interprets faith in its own way, therefore, a lot of religion has appeared on the earth.

They literally can't all be correct... no religion is truly compatible with another... it's always "my god is the only god, and you are wrong"... every religion believes this... it's printed in their books

How would you feel if the president of your country said that he is Napolean and he talks to zombies all the time and he flies on winged horses at night?

That is how I feel when I listen to what Christians politicians say what they believe.  What some schmuck like BADecker or CoinCube think does not matter, but when they elect schizophrenic idiots, that is where you have to stand up and say enough is enough.

We have Mormons who believe in magic garments for crying out loud!!!  Pure insanity.

I wish humanity wakes up and learns some science.

Magic underwear is totally legit

I'm not even a Mormon and I wear them

I've never had a knife, bullet, fire, or evil spirit penetrate them, ever... not even a little bit

This thread is too funny

I can't believe all the idiots on here who listen to Alex Jones

Guy is a total con-man selling you snake oil... he doesn't even try to hide it

Fact check ANYTHING he says...

I've seen a few of his videos, and can't go more than 2 minutes without catching him talking out his ass

Seriously... watch him for 2 minutes and use google to fact check whatever he says... he'll be wrong/lying at least once every 2 minutes... guaranteed

In court he even admitted he is "He is playing a character"... "He is a performance artist."

http://thehill.com/homenews/media/329071-alex-jones-playing-a-character-says-lawyer

Quote
He also claims U.S. moon landings were faked and that the government faked the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting using actors.

He also pushed the “Pizzagate” conspiracy that maintained Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and campaign chairman John Podesta were operating a child sex trafficking ring run out of a Washington, D.C., pizzeria

Come on guys... how can you take this shitbag seriously?
Use your fucking brains

You state definitely that God doesn't exist.

Nobody says this...

Atheists say there is no evidence of god

We don't believe in things without evidence:
Unicorns
Aliens
Gremlins
Faeries
Dragons
Gods

Atheists are evidence based... if you have evidence of a god, present it (not your same old 4 links bullshit)

The one thing I like about atheists is that they state what they believe. Then they stop being atheists, because they know that God might exist. This doesn't stop them from being liars that they are still atheists.

Quote
atheism
[ey-thee-iz-uh m]

noun

1. the doctrine or belief that there is no God.

2. disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.

Again, not believing in something is different from claiming it doesn't exist

Why do we keep going over the same simple concepts?

Are you being daft intentionally?

Disbelief is not an affirmative claim

Do you even read the stuff you quote?

Stop calling me a liar unless you want to quote where I lied... if you cannot provide evidence, you are simple projecting your lying behavior onto me

There is no such thing a void belief about something that has been suggested. This means that when "God" is talked about, He is either believed to exist or He is believed to not exist.

This is what the dictionary definition means. And since there is the possibility that God might exist, then God is NOT believed to NOT exist. So, there is no atheism once the suggestion of God has been brought up.

Again, read the dictionary definition you quoted...

Atheism is a disbelief in gods... a belief that no gods exist... not a claim that there is proof no gods exist

I don't believe the Flying Spaghetti Monster exists, but I don't claim to know for certain it doesn't...

There is a possibility faeries, unicorns, and leprechauns exist... but I don't believe in them, pray to them, or bet my soul on their existance

You aren't good at subtlety are you?
(answer: daft intentionally)

Why not..?.
I strongly believe in God. I believe in the creator who created us.
Everyday we should recall his reward such as life, the world, the sun, the moon and so on.
Obviously we all have to pray to the creator.

I don't pray to things which do not exist

Every religion has a creator god, and they are all different... thousands of different creator gods...

Which would I pray to?
Zeus, Odin, Allah, יהוה, Brahma, Amun, Quetzalcoatl, Vishvakarman, Enki, Hœnir?

Not all gods are telepathic, or care about my prayers...

There you go again,
talking like you know everything,
when you know for a fact,
that you know that
God might exist somewhere
you have not examined yet.

I'm just asking a simple question... which god should I pray to and how do I know it's the right god?

Why not pray to faeries, or dragons, or unicorns?

I don't claim that no gods exist, only that there is no more evidence for any god as there is for faeries, unicorns, or leprechauns... and i wouldn't bet on any of them existing

You are an Atheist with respect to 5000+ gods... you don't believe there is evidence for any of them either... Zeus, Amun, Quetzalcoatl?

Which God? The God over all.

Who has described Him best? The Hebrew people in the Bible.

But you don't even worship the Hebrew god... they don't believe in your Jesus guy

The Hebrew god was totally different from the NT god... eternal gods don't change their personality like that

You don't even know the Hebrew gods name... so you call him god... lol

Ignorance is bliss... literally...

It's a proven fact that stupid people are happier

It's a proven fact that religious people have lower IQ

Idiots are happy believing in fairy tales... intelligent people, not so much

The Bible doesn't say we should kill people who work on the Sabbath. Or DID you find your name in there with that instruction?

Jesus salvation thingy didn't have my name in there with that instruction.

So according to BADlogic, I can safely ignore that one too.  Wink

And I will.  Cheesy

The bible doesn't say what?

Quote from: Exodus 35:1–2
These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do. 2 Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.

Quote from: Exodus 31:12-15
The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: ‘Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever.  It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.  Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy.  Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community.  Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest.  I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’

As far as expressing a lineage in writing in a format that would stand future interpretation and translation, how would you have done it?

I wouldn't... it's silly, and nonsense claiming people live 500-1000 years... nonsense
There is zero point in a genealogy beyond trying to provide evidence that such people existed... which a genealogy can't do anyway...

1 The words of the Teacher,[a] son of David, king in Jerusalem:

2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!”
    says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
    Everything is meaningless.”
3 What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?
4 Generations come and generations go,
    but the earth remains forever.
5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.
6 The wind blows to the south
    and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
    ever returning on its course.
7 All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
    there they return again.
8 All things are wearisome,
    more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9 What has been will be again,
    what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say,
    “Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.
11 No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
    by those who follow them.

Wouldn't you agree?

No... it's the words of someone who doesn't understand where the water in rivers comes from (verse 7)

Life is not meaningless, it's an evolution... like all things, society evolves a little at a time...

"What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun?" (verse 3)
Everything!  He gets to eat, have shelter, discuss religion on the internet with random strangers

"there is nothing new under the sun" (verse 9)
wtf?  New things are invented every day!  Was this guy born in the bronze age or something?

I suppose you could call it poetic because its in the form of poetry, but it's just ignorance when you really look at the meaning of the words

There is nothing profound or moving in this poetry... it's quite lacking

I hope that isn't your best example
