That looks like what could become a classical Shoulder Head Shoulder formation, even with a small version of itself in the head section. Just watch out for the indicators! (lower highs and lower lows). If it does unfold like this the best opportunity to get of board is on top of the last shoulder. In my example a final drop to the 5-5.2$ area would be the result.

Something like this.
Ya right, Six point crazy wont hold for to much longer, and we might just dip below 6, but after all that we are going UP 8 not Down 5.8 ... tisk tisk

somewhat related: I wanted to make a poll called "Six Point Crazy" but it was removed.... something about 0 content threads not being ok  Kiss

this is a long process,

all i do when i wana buy bitcoins is:

1) Send money to Virtex using pay-bill (like paying for any bill, using online banking  ) 0.00% fee for sending them money...
2) wait 48 hours (most of the time more like 12 hours)
3) BUY the bitcoins!

I have to say, I hate this sentiment. If not Bitcoin, what then? Something government controlled?

If Bitcoin fails with its popularity and its strong community I doubt anything better is going to rise from its ashes.

That doesn't mean it cannot be improved.

Absolutely not! Bitcoin is far, FAR from static and is being improved all the time.

I would not follow in the ashes of Bitcoin either. Everything we want is here already. Freedom!

open source, the first cryptocurrency
bitcoin!

why dont i see a new 50K of bitcoins on the ask wall on MtGox live?

Are you planning on selling them slowly?

what if the price drops below 6$ will you still be selling them?

lol tell us Exactly what your trading strategy is  Wink
17636  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: June 25, 2012, 02:10:35 PM
as I predicted here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89759.0

The bubble is over, expect another slouch to $3 and also expect the reward halving in dec to have no effect on the price.

I don't think this latest rise was strictly due to speculation. I would be very surprised if we fell below 6.25

6 is likely, 5.5 is possible, 3 will become possible if 5.5 falls.

Also, bit-pay was dumb enough to announce they have 50,000 BTC to sell over the next few days from BFL preorders.  Expect retreating bids.

whats a BFL preorder?

when did they say this?
17637  Economy / Speculation / Re: Capital set in motion by BFL ASIC pre-order on: June 25, 2012, 03:09:38 AM
First up, then down.

The only question is: How strong will this effect be?

And also: What time lies between the two movements?

The opposing flows are largely concurrent. With pre-orders, capital will be tied up for at least a few months, reducing available supply in the market. At the same time, blocks are still being generated. I don't see major movement overall.

I'm more focused on after ASIC devices are delivered. As they come online, they will likely produce a short-term increase in available supply and a rush to pay off initial hardware costs, dropping Bitcoin prices for a period.

+1  I've been saying this for a long time now.  It'll probably take a year or so after the block reward change before there's a distinct break from the current price level, and I think with the flood of ASICs on the horizon we could see the price move back down toward $2 over the next year, maybe even lower.  The only way I see that forecast upset is if there's a massive influx of new money and users, and I just don't see that happening for a while.

mining has very little impact on price

the reward halfing only means mining will have less of an impact on price

40$ a bitcoin Will happen if only the community stays true and slowly grows.
17638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PorcFest 2012 -- Biggest Bitcoin event ever on: June 25, 2012, 02:45:45 AM
THIS...WAS...THE...BEST...WEEKEND...OF....MY...LIFE!!!!!

The whole team came out! Roger, Erik, Ira, Ayaka, and it was a pleasure meeting Zach and Josh.

EVERYONE loves Bitcoin! This was by far the largest meetup ever.

The coolest thing? Bitcoin transactions were happening without us! People told me how they used Bitcoin to buy stuff, exchange and get change as well.

Staying up late, educating people about Bitcoin, our campsite was fully stocked with Bitcoin, Beer, and NEFT Vodka!

Our Bitcoin panel was STANDING ROOM ONLY! The tent was packed!!

Looking forward to next year!

As the free staters say, Live Free or Die!!!

-Charlie

fuck and i missed it!

you guys doing it again next year?  Tongue

edit: why didn't i get an e0mail about this  Sad
