BTW I apologize if this is off-topic at all, but can ANYONE point me to a beginner's guide or something on shorting stocks?  I have very little capital to work with, but I would LOVE to mire in the impending collapse.  PM's with suggestions are VERY welcome -- Really good ones will be rewarded.

Thanks in advance!

$5 is actually pretty nice for an extremely impoverished person RIGHT AT THE MOMENT... but an extremely intelligent impoverished person knows better, and dreams much bigger.

sure, but question is... are the market makers impoverished, or affluent?

in this market everyone is affluent and intelligent... think about it

Just want to point out that one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone tells me to "think about it"... No offense taken against you personally, though.
Dude -- I completely, 100% assure you -- I am anything BUT affluent.
Perhaps I am "well-off" compared to people in Sudan or Nigeria or North Korea or wherever the fuck, but that sort of comparison does not represent true affluence.  Look:  What human has EVER admitted any level of anything to be "good enough, let's stop"?  ... wait for it...
Neocons, traditionalists, and ignorant idiots in general -- THAT's who.  :-P

when it comes to post on this forum only Mathew N. Right can offend me.

I hear you, and I'm in the same boat. young with a good career ahead of me, but i feel dirt poor because of the current shitty world economy.

affluent is a big word, saying someone is affluent can be taken any number of ways, but when it comes to bitcoins if your not affluent your doing it wrong.
18383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Goomboo's Journal on: March 11, 2012, 09:27:16 PM
I'd like to thank everyone for participating for the past two months throughout this journal.  My intention has been to help individuals approach the markets in a systematic, rational, and tested way.  Also, I have tried to "throw the ball into your court" by telling you how it is: you will more than likely fail if you don't own up to your decisions by testing, scrutinizing, and attempting to disprove your edge.  My hope for you is that you take responsibility and put in the necessary time and effort to protect the money you have worked hard to earn.

I do not have time to continue posting on a message board.  I wish you all the best in your trading endeavors.

sad to see you go,
consider visiting us from time to time and post some posts in other threads, we welcome your input on any subject.

...

Roll Eyes are you going to sell all your bitcoins?

There's no excuse for (intentionally!) deleting data without backups, trying to put the blame on others just makes you look worse.

Right.

You did not think "maybe I should back this up" BEFORE you deleted it.  <---- GAP

I am in a position to make this determination because if the gap wan't there, you'd have the data you need to give me my fucking money (not that I trusted you with much in the first place).

Shit happens...

one thing seems clear bitscalper still has the scammer red X on his name and it should remain that way, until he returns all the funds to his users.
bitscalper should immediately return the coins from the users on this forum, as a show of good fiath.
if this is done, and if more public successful withdraws are processed, i would remove the scammer X's
if bitscalper is honorable he can win back some trust, he will simply have deal with his tarnished reputation.

he has never had my trust, and probably never will.
although... i am Loving all this Drama sounding bitscalper

subscribers, if we break $5, you should be thinking 'purple'/'green'

If there was ever a time in the last few days to be staring at the price constantly, it is now.

omg someone tell me does purple point up or down  Cheesy
18390  Economy / Speculation / Re: $4 is the new $2 on: March 11, 2012, 07:13:02 PM
i believe this to be the case.

in fact, the move down from $7.20 to $4 magically represents a 61.8% Fibonacci retrace, a good place to bottom.

so would you be wise to be buying in the $4's or selling/shorting in the $4's?

i sorta agree...

but i see it like this

2$ was when bitcoin wanted to see how low it would go

5$ is its actual value

4$ is meaningless its not the "bottom" its just a whole dollar less then its actual value

is our society changing from materialistic, to informationalistic?

the past generation was manipulated into thinking they were rich and could afford to take out loans to go on a trip Or have a huge wedding.

needless to say, they will be paying minimum due for the rest of their lives.

the next generation, is not so gullible, with the internet maturing, new tools Connecting everyone from all parts of the world, this is allowing for the awakening of a collective perception, in which information is constantly being better organized.

We are the next Gen, having grown up with limitless knowledge at our finger tips, we are starting to see that we are all in the same boat, and OH SHIT the ship is split in two, and some fucker is telling us to "Stay calm everything is just fine"... we dont buy this BS anymore, and we will not stand by as government go to war for profit.

We will use what binds us together, to allow us to fight the good fight, the fight for free and accurate information

We will not live in fear.

Organization of information is are weapon, miss-information is our enemy.

GO BITCOINS! the best way known to man to Organize the distribution of wealth.

Yeah, REALLY fucking "out there" bro  Roll Eyes
No offense intended, but I've been thinking along these exact lines since about 2001, almost (true story -- no exaggeration) lost my life in a couple bar fights that resulted from a discussion on this topic (random drunkard:  "YOU CALLIN' ME STUPID, YOU COLUMBINE MOTHERFUCKER???").  Also gone legally insane and institutionalized for awhile because people couldn't handle my "constant annoying ramblings" on this topic.  Granted, since 2001 I have stayed determined, learned from my experiences, increased my intelligence and continued the fight.  But dude -- guaranteed, these are NOT new ideas.

IMHO, it's not that these ideas are outlandish or anything it's just that the general intelligence level (especially among Americans) is severely lacking.

No worries though -- I am happier than EVER to have FINALLY found a strong community of like-minded individuals that are ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING THAT REALLY LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A FIGHTING CHANCE FOR REAL WORLDWIDE CHANGE.

Let's keep fighting the good fight and stand Together As One   Smiley

Business marketing is slowly coming around to realizing the paradigm shift in consumer awareness.  "Edu-marketing" is the new buzz word, and aims to cooperate with customers to help inform them why they want a product.

While this is quite off topic from the OP it did get me thinking about how perhaps if this trend continues it will assist in getting bitcoin mainstream as more and more people are willing to learn and do more research before making final decisions on how to spend (or store?) their money.

Short primer: http://ezinearticles.com/?So,-What-Is-This-Thing-Called-Edumarketing?&id=953101

I think the technical aspects of bitcoin are still a huge barrier to adoption, however I suppose the hope is as more and more people become comfortable with learning and adapting to new technologies this will become less of an issue.

Anyway I agree with you adams, with luck the trend continues as we have a long road ahead of us whether speaking of bitcoin adoption or the greater awareness of the populace in general.

So, What Is This Thing Called Edumarketing?
Quote
We Live in a Society driven by information. Information provides the building blocks upon which knowledge is constructed. Today, knowledge is the real currency of business-the stimulus that drives our economy and thus our livelihoods.

Two of the most revered thinkers of the past 100 years, Peter Drucker and Philip Kotler, were clear in their characterization of the contemporary business environment. That is, we now live in a knowledge society.
