I haven't sent it yet, please critique. Also feel free to adapt and use.
-------------------------------------------------------

Maybe you're already familiar with Bitcoin, but just in case I want to give you a quick overview. You'll probably find it interesting at least even if you decide not to use it now.

Bitcoin is peer to peer money. No banks are required, any user can send bitcoins directly to another user without permission and without restriction. No one at all has special privilege with regards to Bitcoin or the Bitcoin network. Bitcoin is code that people run on their computers. It is also the name of the network that emerges when those computers are connected.

Bitcoin is a different currency, not another form of dollars like PayPal or Dwolla. It's value is set only by what people are willing to pay for it. Recently it's been fairly stable around $4.90/BTC, but historically it fluctuates a lot.

MtGox.com is the largest exchange, in the last day people traded about $200,000 worth of Bitcoins there.

Bit-Pay.com helps businesses integrate bitcoin and if desired sell them automatically upon receipt to avoid exchange rate risk.

Bitcoin.org is the 'official' site and has links to more information.

I'm not an expert, just an enthusiast but I'm more than happy to help you find answers to any questions you have.

honestly, i think we should refrain from actively PUSHING bitcoin

let them figer it out by themselves, it has more of an effect.

if you happen to be their, and bitcoin happens to pop in your head. then ya feel free to share. but go spamming bitcoin

Dear adamamsdflskdfsotoibutiggit,

how about a "technology will render nationalism and therefore politics obsolete" option?

I'd be most specif

the internet will create is creating a new nationalism with strong / accurate political ideologies
current politics will slowly be assimilated into this new political ideology

Well then sir you might as well add Catholicism to the list.

Catholicism = Christian Church Huh

why is this relevant?

It's an -ism.  And I see nationalism ending up something like religion is now:  something people will hold on to for whatever reason, but will be basically impotent.

this is closely related a though i expressed the other day
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68168.0

I believe the internet is creating a new nationalism

I believe the next few decade will be a moment in history known as an awakening

I believe in god, but my god is a fucking TROLL and is constantly testing me with have baked thoughts for me to sort out

please people of the internet, help my figure it out!  should i buy or sell bitcoins?  Tongue

think
think
think
think
think
speak our mind.

Hey, we got a song out of all of this. That had to have been worth something!

Here's a little known fact: Did you know that Matthew has a relative that's a famous singer? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKOhAUxZ9J8

yes i found this the other day.

Matthew is fascinating. sometime tells me once its all said and done, his life story will be made to fit in a good old fashion book.

18366  Economy / Speculation / Re: #1 most popular Bitcoin Price Forecasts (subscribe here: bitcoinbullbear.com) on: March 12, 2012, 04:34:39 AM
In weeks, months or years to come, when everyone has forgotten about what went on in this 10c price rise, people will look back and say "oh look it was another test of the $7.20 down trend line that failed" or something. It did, however stop the price from immediately eating away at the bottom trend line, which was imminent. For someone who is probably heavily long, knowing what the charts mean if it broke $4.80 at this point, getting the price up was tantamount, using any means necessary. This is always the risk when you trust someone.

The information now made available to you all through this act, is that $5.00 is not going to happen with the volume that the people who act on such information are ready to put out (at least not today). The next question, is then "what is everyone else waiting for?" Perhaps they're leaning south, and needed another test of $5.00 to confirm it...or perhaps they just haven't checked it yet.

I used that information strengthen my existing short, based on my own analysis. If I'm wrong, so be it, I'll salvage what I can just like in any other situation, and of course I won't use my full reserves on a hunch.

+1

Like I've been saying, we need to take a dip before we take off if we want to solidify up as the new long term trend.  I believe this is in the interest of the majority of the market, but I won't wager anything close to my entire stack on that.  I wouldn't mind riding it up and shorting from higher while we correct.

their will be no dips. we are shooting for 8$ remember...

Even convincing others to invest in BTC as one would for gold / silver / other PMs, I would consider to be an activity outside of direct speculation that adds value.

right, we should all stop Trolling the Speculation forum and do this:

Go Bitcoin!
18374  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay! The walls of scary death have arrived! on: March 12, 2012, 02:30:57 AM

by the by, as long as we're on this off-topic topic, I was wondering what attribute to use to make a hyperlink display alt text in UBB code?  For example, I want to put a link in my post here, so i use the little linky button up there and it makes the brackets with the "url" tag, but then what do I say "x='my alt text'", in order to display "my alt text" in place of the url?  what is x there?  Am I making sense?

i tryed [img alt='' ...its not working

LOL, yeah I forgot to travel back in time when any nVidia chipset would get me a block of 50 every hour or so...  Roll Eyes
It cost me a VERY DANGEROUSLY RISKY portion of my personal "wealth" to obtain the 1.8GH/s ~ 1BTC/day I currently manage.
So... if what you meant by "you're doing it wrong" is that you expect the value of BTC to increase 100-1000 fold in the next few years, then I can say I agree with you.  :-)

agreed.

I need to get myself a mining rig, but I'm thinking next winter, that way it helps to heat my place    Cheesy
