17962  Economy / Speculation / Re: base price under $5 club on: April 30, 2012, 05:45:15 PM
we will be on are way to 8$ any day now
17963  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price so stable? on: April 30, 2012, 06:13:21 AM
the goal of the market has always been to find the true price of bitcoin.

the first year was pure maddens cuz bitcoin was manipulated into a huge bubble and then huge crash.

Now the playing filed is more even, and its getting more and more even. early adopters are securing at least SOME of their well earned bitcoin wealth in things like gold or something, late comers are building up bitcoin wealth, and all the while both early adopter and new comer are simulating the bitcoin economy more and more

end result: 5$ holds.... until it breaks! Up is the only option its only a matter of time but I'm talking years, but once we really do break out of 5$ it will be because bitcoin has hit a new "critical mass level" and over night bitcoin will go from 0.001% of world wide spending to 10%! bubble #2 will almost hit 1 millions dollars/BTC and then crash to the 100 thousands range.

in 5 - 15 years we will be saying "OK, We have 10% of world wide spending and growing, bitcoin is rated  AAA investment... so why the fuck isn't EVERYONE using bitcoin" and the answer will be "Can't teach an old dog new ticks, these things take time"

do you like my prediction?  Grin lol i have a dream, a fucking good dream!

making this dream a reality is fucking easy, spend bitcoin.... the more bitcion you spend at small ma & pa shops the more distributed the wealth is, the more distributed the wealth is, the higher the price. its that simple people, just keep dreaming  Cheesy

good night new york! hello... Moscow  Huh

17969  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will Mt. Gox price fall below Mt. Gox price 365 days ago? (USD) on: April 30, 2012, 02:41:37 AM
According to Bitcoin charts it opened at 3.8 at 2011-05-10, and at 5.81 at 2011-05-11, so 2011-05-11 is the logical choice given how the survey is formulated.
Wouldn't 2011-05-10 be the logical choice then, because of the leap day?
No, it would have to be 2012-05-10. Gee, aren't we clever today Wink
I must be getting old if I'm dating things a year in the past Roll Eyes.

Here are some charts:

We missed the chance to reach parity 2012-04-30, and it's going to be hard to reach parity until at least 2012-05-03. We won't have a real chance (I would say >5%) until 2012-05-07, three days before the infamous 2012-05-10.

what is it your trying to sell us?
the infamous 2012-05-10  Huh
17970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Look at that blue wall, its so sexy its scary! on: April 30, 2012, 01:32:38 AM
Definitely impending doom, especially considering the Mt.Gox bank holiday.

lol, i feel a down poor of fear coming soon, get ready to SELL all your bitcoins at 4.50$  Wink
17971  Economy / Speculation / Re: MintChip Vs bitcoin, the currency wars are starting... who will win? on: April 30, 2012, 01:30:24 AM
MintChip looks like a government sanctioned digital currency.

Bitcoin is not.

If Bitcoin in ANY way negatively effects MintChip (which they will accuse it of doing) the Government will then have grounds to outlaw all other digital currencies.

This is what Government does best, taking control out of the hands of the people and selling it to special interest groups.

If the government outlaws bitcoins, people are going to get mad.
what do people do when they get mad?
buy bitcoins and smoke weed! lol

MintChip only validates the idea of digital currencies
17972  Economy / Speculation / Look at that blue wall, its so sexy its scary! on: April 30, 2012, 01:19:21 AM

unbelievably good buying opportunity?

or

a sign of the impending doom!

please explain "sd/rx small transactions practically every day off of 3BTC seed donation"
No biggy, a number of us on a closed forum have been helping each other get started with BitCoins, that's all.  Sending/Receiving (sd/rx) 50-200mBTC amounts (milli=1/1000BTC), to help test other member wallets, as they get it setup for the 1st time.  Plus there is a fellow producing mp3's, I like listening to his thoughts & as he started accepting BTC's, so I send him 100mBTC's now and then.  You can stretch a couple BTC's along way, if your conservative & by going to dailybitcoins once/day it covers the transaction cost.  Our admin donated 40BTCs to the 1st 20 people that could get setup to start using BTC's, that pool went fast, and so a number of us are now giving back, so others can use that seed money over again, the idea is to get more new members started in using BitCoins, that type of thing.  I'm kinda hoping to help get 100 new BTC users within this 1st 60 days of starting the project, would like for it to have been 500, but as U know acceptance takes time.  If we could get a hundred on board, I'm thinking it might just avalanche quickly up to 800 or more.

Sorry about the thread drift OP, please continue, I honestly think it's fun to watch you very early adopter folks blowing Bookies around on a price swing bet.   Wink

Hope that answers your question adamstgBit,  just trying to do my part & grow the community.

this is why bitcoin rules

what is this closed forum? how did you guys get interested in bitcoin?

I think the 5BTC bet was just to keep it interesting. no point having a 0.01BTC bet. I dont think these guys have 1000's of bitcoins even if they have been around since the earlier days. In any case 25$ is 25$ just because they "got them cheep" doesn't mean they are worth less to them. Their just keeping it interesting.

are you setup to start buying bitcoins yet?
17974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you pay your household bills with bitcoin ? on: April 29, 2012, 10:15:00 PM

17975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you pay your household bills with bitcoin ? on: April 29, 2012, 08:32:17 PM

17976  Bitcoin / Project Development / The Google Translate Web Element on: April 29, 2012, 08:14:33 PM
I found this cool tool from Google "The Google Translate Web Element"

By adding a small snip-it of code to your website, all the text (or only part of the text) on your website can be translated into almost any language insistently

Code:
<script>
function googleTranslateElementInit() {
  new google.translate.TranslateElement({
    pageLanguage: 'en',
    autoDisplay: false,
    floatPosition: google.translate.TranslateElement.FloatPosition.TOP_RIGHT
  });
}
</script><script src="//translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=googleTranslateElementInit"></script>

make your own  Google Translate Web Element at http://translate.google.com/translate_tools

come see what the end result looks like at http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/  click the "Translate" button at the top right corner.

Move is up
mmmm .... InverseFisher... Someone thinks like me ..  Wink I wonder how many people caught in this bear trap ...

I would imagine we've been picking up a hell of a lot of shorts in this never ending 4.90 -5.10 trading loop.

this is why i think the longer we stay at these levels the more explosive the rally will be once we get going.
17978  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Magic 8 Ball thread on: April 29, 2012, 06:55:41 PM
Ya it was serious, lots to learn & been sd/rx small transactions practically every day off of 3BTC seed donations, I've got my units set to milliBTC's and yet to execute a trade from fiat or sell anything of value until May 10th or so.  Even then, blowing ~$25usd on a whim is 1/2 a weeks worth of gas driving to/from work for me, so 5BTC still seems like allot.  Tried mining for a month with Slush, just to get a feel for what in the heck this BTC world was all about, very useful in that regard, however with just this old pc doing cpu mining @2.7MH/s it took almost that long to get above the minimum threshold required to finally get a payment of 0.01BTC sent.  Done doing that, so ya, my perception @ the moment is 5BTC is allot of wealth.

please explain "sd/rx small transactions practically every day off of 3BTC seed donation"

i dont understand.
