GO BITCOINS! the best way known to man to Organize the distribution of wealth.

Sure. With people like ArtForz having 60k BTC mining them on a 4870 for likely less than $100 and with noobs that bought them at $30.

Can't possibly think of a fairer way of distributing money, really Roll Eyes

why didn't you do the same thing as ArtForz ?

the unfairness of early adopters is perfectly fair...

can you really think of a better way to organize distribution of wealth?

18402  Other / Off-topic / Warring this post is fucking OUT THERE on: March 10, 2012, 09:55:08 PM
is our society changing from materialistic, to informationalistic?

the past generation was manipulated into thinking they were rich and could afford to take out loans to go on a trip Or have a huge wedding.

needless to say, they will be paying minimum due for the rest of their lives.

the next generation, is not so gullible, with the internet maturing, new tools Connecting everyone from all parts of the world, this is allowing for the awakening of a collective perception, in which information is constantly being better organized.

We are the next Gen, having grown up with limitless knowledge at our finger tips, we are starting to see that we are all in the same boat, and OH SHIT the ship is split in two, and some fucker is telling us to "Stay calm everything is just fine"... we dont buy this BS anymore, and we will not stand by as government go to war for profit.

We will use what binds us together, to allow us to fight the good fight, the fight for free and accurate information

We will not live in fear.

Organization of information is are weapon, miss-information is our enemy.

18403  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's called a correction (waveaddict's bitcoin charting subscription thread) on: March 10, 2012, 09:44:01 PM
I made a little prototype free web page of how I thought a waveaddict site may work, I sent the UN/PW for it to WA to take over if he wished to run with it until he got his set up, hopefully I've not got anything too wrong on it, I thought it may be handy to put in his forum sig or for others to use, but as I've had no feedback from him on it I guess that it doesn't appeal, anyway as he also hasn't voiced any objections to it from a couple of days ago I feel that I may as well post it here for feedback & to see if it's of any interest/use - note: it is an unofficial site, like a fan site say, whilst the info I believe is correct it is solely my unsolisited creation & nothing to do with waveaddict, though the content is mostly copied from his posts & newsletters of course - I will delete it the instant he says he'd rather it was gone

waveaddict's bitcoin charting subscription service ~ an unofficial fan site by Otoh

its good but does this free hosting allow you to write some code? php?

it doesn't look professional to ask the user to e-mail him to subscribe. you should have a form that gathers the necessary information for the user, and asks for payment.

nice, my mother can knit too and would happily do it like you said Yankee, black and red with the blank bitcoin logo as adamstgBit suggested. How would you like it ? two logos on the ends, one in the middle or one on either end ?

A little competition doesn't do any harm Wink

edit: how's this ? .
Logo would fit perfectly when done, so it will not look exactly as in the image, my gimp skills are not to high.

the profits will be held in BTC and will go in my son's piggy bank

18405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could I drive up the Bitcoin price with a clearing purchase? on: March 10, 2012, 07:46:06 PM
Hi guys,
I currently am sitting on 175 shares of AAPL stock. For those of you who are aware, Apple shares are trading at rough $550,00 USD. I am planning to liquidate my holding and am thinking of reinvesting in Bitcoin.

Would a purchase of $85,000 of BTC drive up the price significantly?

This is not a troll post, I am genuinely interested.

Thanks for your time,
Omni

the thing is you DONT want to drive up the price....

look at http://mtgoxlive.com/orders, the blue line is people trying to sell bitcoins

if you hover your mouse on this blue line and go up you will see how much USD you will need to buy it up

right now your buy would bring us to about 5$

but truth is you dont want to do this...

what you want to do is wait for a nice ask wall to appear near the current price, that way you can get most of your coins cheep!

you wont drive up the price very much with this order. but once the market realizes it has 18,000 less coins to work with .... price will rise naturally

if i was you, i would first buy 500$ worth, to get use to all the different tools bitcoin market has to offer & and learn more about bitcoin.

18406  Economy / Speculation / Re: This might be the end of the correction on: March 10, 2012, 07:16:32 AM
a very slow down to 4.25, fallowed by a even slower climb up and over 5.1 at which point news about some new service offered in bitcoin will trigger a wave of new money willing to buy coins no matter what the cost. hell slips open... the never ending bull run continues

I could buy that, but I don't discount the other possibilities as easily as you seem to.

Roll Eyes ya even I don't place much trust in my thoughts...

18407  Economy / Speculation / Re: This might be the end of the correction on: March 10, 2012, 07:01:02 AM
A move to $5.5, which could happen naturally, would trigger a short squeeze to $6...

While the same exists in reverse, what concerns me more is the risk. The bitcoin price is ready to go up, sure, but the bulls can't play until the bears are satisfied. Indicators are extremely close to trigger a sell signal...good time for someone to rally, but it'll cost them around $120k to push that trigger. The trigger down is about half that, and since sentiment is bullish (I think), it's a very juicy path downwards.

There's a proper long term upwards support down at $3.5...the one we're at now is just make believe imo. I think the real price of this huge triangle we're in is around $4.50-$4.60.

k so, say your triangle breaks down to 4.50 then what?  panic to 4$?

No this is it...

4$ is the bottom, 4.87 is the current price, if no major buy or sell happens we'll be at 4.75 in 2 days, 4.50 in 1 week, 4.25 in 1 month

but the thing is, something will happen... and soon! ( Right Huh   ...    Wrong Grin )

major sell off, since we are so close to the bottom, a major sell of would bounce back relatively fast (don't try to cause panic selling... it simply wont work)
Or
major buy up, since we are so close to the bottom, a major buy up will retain some momentum and reach higher. ( very expensive to pull the trigger...)

IMO

no one will pull the trigger, and no one will want to try and cause panic in order to buy back lower.

so only one thing can happen

a very slow down to 4.25, fallowed by a even slower climb up and over 5.1 at which point news about some new service offered in bitcoin will trigger a wave of new money willing to buy coins no matter what the cost, hell slips open, the never ending bull run continues

I lay it out for you all to to play it out  Cool

My wife dose knitting

she can knit you an awesome scarf, trust me you wouldn't be disappointed

Can she knit me a black and red scarf with the Bitcoin logo on it?

Dude, Id pay for that!!

something like ? the bitcoin logo would not fit very well, i think. How about a full black scarf with the orange logo ?

Hmm, you have a point there. The back and red may look a little christmas-y as well.

Adam, the black with orange logo doable?

all black with orange bitcoin logo? sure

I still think black and red (mixed together), with a white B (The B with the two lines)would look good

Good video, I wish I would have ventured into the Speculation forum a week ago.

I haven't been reading this as much as Bitcoin Discussion as well as Hardware has been distracting me with all the BFL singles popping up in the wild!

Matthew, my skype is MaddCowz I believe.  I'm not on too often, but I'd love to talk to you one of these days when I get some time.

added, maybe I can do another video  in a few weeks.

I want to be in the next one.

Cool, once I'm done editing the long version. we can get the next one going
