2801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Experiment 10k | Cloud Staking | High Liquidity | GorillaStake.com on: February 25, 2015, 04:26:41 AM
The problem obvious is the high stake % and the coin is only a few weeks old. If i buy 100k today at the end of the month i should have 200k in theory so if price keeps the same i would have 100% profit...

So basically this means price will go down way lower as sell pressure will increase every day. Some small multipools arent going to stop that.

Just my point of view though..please correct me if what i said is wrong..

you should have 200k + by the 4th day

Ah ok. But the point is the same. The sell side will be huge over time while the demand will be close to zero as nobody needs to buy as they get thousands of coins for free by just staking..

The only reason why it still has some value is because people who dont have coins yet try to buy some. And its like a snowball effect. The more free staked coins get sold the lower the price gets and the more people can buy which is followed by even more staked coins.

And even if people dont sell, then they keep on staking and there will be so many coins that nobody wants to buy them...

So lets assume it goes to 100sat, then you can buy 1 million coins which you can double fast...and once you sell the million free coins you got from staking, then you probably eat the whole orderbook...just with 1btc... and you can do it over and over again.

So only road is the road to 1sat...its just common sense...cant really make much more of it...

Anyone could see it from a mile away really.

I care about every investor that decided to invest and have been as transparent as possible.

Things are structured to succeed here at MTR administration, and we won't let things be a waste of time for anyone.

I hope you understand we are trying to bring something truly great to the crypto community, and market share is 100% important for any company to prosper and grow stronger. More users, more exposure, more market share capitalization- I use this phase often, and I stand by it.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

Well I hope your plan works out and that the risk you took for the early launch pays off. In future do not post one thing and do another because in real life for investment to be stable people judge management by how they stick to their plans and promises.

I've received several PM's from ecstatic investors and supporters who've witnessed the value of their initial investments in Phase I skyrocket! Administration held a Board meeting after hours of deliberation ultimately voting to release wallets, sourcecode, and POW phase effectively increasing the overall price valuation and marketcap of MTR significantly.

We apologize to anyone inconvenienced by the discretion of the boards decision, as the majority felt securing a higher market capitalization strengthened the core and value of MTR.

Thanks for the explanation dev.

IMO I still think management made a mistake by launching POW as there are more things to consider than the short term value of phase 1 or the size of phase 2. If it was a deliberation by management with a voting process etc. then management probably weighed up the these 2 aspects with the negatives from the decision and found that these 2 outweighed the rest. Nothing can be done about it now except to take a wait and see approach.

With the original launch schedule it was fine for ICO investors to wait for their coins to the end of phase 2. With the ninja launch of POW, it becomes a problem to allow only certain coins to be traded. Releasing phase 1 coins now would definitely impact phase 2 negatively, but that is one of the negatives that management had to weigh up to get to the decision that starting POW early was a good idea according to management. Anyways, I hope for ICO investor's sake and that of the coin that the price goes up over the next week and not down. All the best to the A-team that have to stand next to field while watching the game from the sidelines.

I think people are going to wait until the last possible moment and transfer BTC big time to phase 2, in the hope that the BTC pool is not that big and that they get ICO @ under mining cost. It would be interesting to see how big the transfer at the end that ICO will be and if it will be over subscribed at more than mining unit cost. It might just turn out to be a very fascinating race to watch.
2805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RISKCOIN - Scrypt - Trading on 2 exchanges! on: February 24, 2015, 06:59:03 PM
How long does it take for staking to begin - 24h? Wallet has been unlocked for the whole day and there is no indication like "you do not have mature coins" or "your weight is x and network is y".

After 24h coins will be mature enough. It doesn't mean you will find PoS block directly.

You are not the only one that is staking. It's also a factor of having luck

I know what staking is and how it works. I could not find any indicators in the wallet to tell me that it is staking or the conditions preventing it from staking. I just thought that perhaps with this coin there are some other additional steps to take before the wallet gives you the status and then just waiting for coins to mature after that.

Normally there are indicators in a wallet that tells you you are staking successfully and what the current attributes are.

Really want to hear an explanation of this situation

I think the answer will be that the dev wanted to have unit cost of mining and unit cost of ICO in sync, thereby raising a significantly higher phase 2 ICO amount of BTC.

is funny to see you quoting someone that hasn't even posted in the complete forum over a month nor it supports MTR.

Is that a pre-requisite to quote someone's post?

of course specially when your giving an answer to a development your not even a part of, your that emotional right now that you want to answer others peoples comments that are clear none supporters, that just hurting your own phase 1 investment. im not even 100% sure you even invested on phase 1 at this point!

Fine, I had my rant. Lets play along and see where it goes and wait for the dev to make an announcement.

Im so upset i didnt got to see this in till yesterday!, the facts are the cost per coin mining right now is 10x from what the phase 1 sold, with 1ghz you only get around 200 coins.

I think everyone is upset, even phase 1 holders because trust has been broken.

your trust maybe, i was just checking out the profile of the escrow agent and hes pretty high rank, now im just going to buy on phase 2 is completely cheaper then pow right now.

You can operate as you wish, and accept what you want based on your principles, but do you realise that everyone will be thinking the same way that it is cheaper to buy phase 2 than to mine. People could be pumping BTC into phase 2 up to break even point. This means that lets say 100BTC is put into phase 2 then each coin costs 200k sats. If mining costs 300k sats, then break even would be 150 BTC. This might be the reason for the dev to have done the ninja move, in order make phase 2 very expensive and raise a very large pool of BTC. It is clever, but unethical nonetheless. Phase 2 will end roughly in line with POW so there will be very little time to do accurate calculations in the end about what is cheaper - phase 2 or POW.

I am a bit upset at the moment. Things looked very professional up to this point but now POW started a week early ninja style and is an action that seems contrary to the professionalism displayed so far. POW was supposed to start after end of phase 2 next week. Is there any reason why POW was ninja launched a week early? What if there were people planning to do rentals etc next week after phase 2 ended?

Also, running POW and an ICO simultaneously are going to scew the final phase 2 ICO price as they will impact each other. MTR is probably going to be added to an exchange now since the wallet is out and people will begin trading their mined coins. An ICO and active trading cannot run simultaneously - things just don't work that way. I think the dev made a grave error that might in the end have serious consequences to the coin and it is hard to believe that the dev made such a basic mistake.

Quote from the OP and I also have a screenshot:

NOTE: There are three rounds to this offering, spanning a three week period. Rounds I and II will account for the release of 50,000 MTR each. Concluding those initial rounds, MTR will provide the Crypto community a seven-day Proof of Work mining period rewarding 10,000 MTR. Rounds I and II and III will account for the distribution of 110,000 MTR.

Your POW period is too long. Hence the drop in price. People lose interest before POW is over.

2816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SUP] Supcoin, PLUCK algorithm, Just Launched, Mine Now! on: February 24, 2015, 01:56:47 AM
People keep interest when they can still mine something to generate income. There is a lot to say for POW coins vs POS coins but that is another debate. When I couldn't mine anymore with my CPU I lost interest. It is now in the hands of the GPU and ultimately the AMD miners, so the group of interest becomes smaller. Of course interest will fade and price will go lower.

If you market something on X but deliver Y then it is a problem. If you market a CPU coin but deliver a GPU coin then your market will shift. I know it is probably impossible to deliver a CPU coin only. You have attracted a crowd of CPU miners that normally lose out on mining, but alienated them when it became GPU mining. (that sounds like the story of crypto in general). When the real coin comes market it as a GPU coin and don't even get people's hopes up for CPU mining.

When a POW coin is made that is truly limited to CPU only, that the guy on the street can mine, then it will be a winner.  Wink

Stake or trading Huh i see more profit in trade i can get more than 50% "if" i buy in 2500sat and sell in 3900sat  Roll Eyes

10K is not suitable for day trading since the incentive is to stake and keep coins off the exchanges. Most trades happen on the "buy" side although you do have the occasional trade on the "sell" side. This means that if you place a buy order it will be taken, but when you place the sell order chances are high that the sell order will not be taken and you will have to sell later into a lower buy order than what you bought at. Having said this it is not impossible to play the swings from time to time.
2819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PROTOTYPECOIN [PTY] 50k% STAKE on: February 22, 2015, 11:23:35 PM
They are all spreading FUD about this new coin just because it is hard to mine and they are getting jealous, plain and simple.

It is not a matter of being jealous. We can all through lots of hash at it or spend BTC on buying it. However it is stupid to do because of the extreme high stake %. The coin will destroy itself.

Unfortunately human nature and greed makes a person blind to the risks and people will willingly jump off a cliff.
2820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PROTOTYPECOIN [PTY] 50k% STAKE on: February 22, 2015, 10:51:21 PM
Dump this shit when high... Grin

And what about the people that you sell it to? Don't you think they have the right to have their money protected, especially if they are not clued up about what you are doing or new to crypto? Do you have no moral values or ethics?

Read this in OP..

This is a prototype coin. Feel free to test, mine, stake or not. There is no guarantee it work.  Grin

Then the buyers must be stupid. After 2 weeks the coin supply will be out of hand and price should be at 1 sat. Since there will be extreme sell pressure chances are high of the coin imploding between 1 and 2 weeks.
