If you want to learn more about miners, optimizations, and lower level coding, I recommend you learn C, which is what I started with.

And.. I'm sorry, but I have to recommend you also become pretty good in x86 assembly. It's not easy, but it gives you an in-depth understanding of your target platform, and even if you don't use it often, it will help you write better code.

Helpful as always Smiley

Does anyone know the status for the ati card miner, i have a 6850 that i want to mine on with 2 cpus to get the most out of this coin early on because i want to get what i can out of the setup i have i know its not good but its a new coin and it seems promising.

LoL, the poster couldn't have made a better summary of human nature and this epitomizes it. Add some sharpened daggers for the backstabbing, spiked shoes for the trampling and a baseball bat for the kneecaps and you are set for survival in alt-coin crypto world of today. Smiley

mmm. at these prices, maybe ill run my CPUs again for a while.

You are giving away your uid and password in that pic.

recived a reward, than the balance was 0 for couple min, and now balance is 0 but actual balance is despayed on "stake:" and can't send the coins nowhere. any ideas what to do?

1) wait
2) learn how POS works.

What he said.

I stopped my CPUs. I am getting less than dust now and it is not worth the electricity. Ill wait for the exchanges.

Somebody will answer questions? How many coins now and how many will be final? How to receive a stake in a wallet and what will give movement of coins from one address on another?
Dude, just open your wallet, go to Help => Debug Window => Open "Console" => Type "getinfo" Check for maxsupply or maxcoinsupply and you will get the total number of coins...  And yes, it's about getting 10000% per year and so, there ain't any final number of coins as they will generate everytime stake comes in... Anyways, to receive a stake, you just need some coins in your wallet and you are good to go... Just sit back and wait, it will start staking after 1 hour of sending your coins to your wallet from your exchange... Also, moving your coins from one address to another will reset the coinage in order for you to stake better as you will be staking... Don't worry, if you don't move your coins from 1 address to another for 16 days, you will be fine and get stakes, but I do move my coins every 2-3 days preferably in the same wallet, won't cost me more than just an hour of no-stake... Smiley

Thanks. Now everything is clear.
28% a day it is healthy, but the price will constantly fall.

You think so?

what if the exchange rate was not 1-1?
it is not 1-1, it is 166 - 1. That is how the dev gets from 1Bn to 6M.
2850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GREX] GreenCoinX - A Tradeable Carbon Credit Ecosystem on: February 20, 2015, 02:02:59 PM
What you are saying is there will be 5,328 coins mined per day. However, you will instantly give 6M coins to old holders. I think that will destroy the market because those 6M coins will be dumped by holders to get their money out with the creation of a new market. You shouldn't be giving out any coins for free. CPU mining will be difficult and miners will get very few coins, yet the 6M will flood the market. There will be very little incentive to mine and there will be no scarcity in the coins mined due to the 6M instant supply. It will take CPU miners 3 years to mine 6M coins at least to be equal to the coins you want to give away.

I see now on Bittrex that Greencoin seems to be in distress close to 1 sat with a long list of sell orders. I think that the holders with their money in Greencoin will want to take what they can and get out of the Green stuff at the first chance, meaning when a market is created for GREX and they have exchanged their GRE for GREX.

From 100 000 sat to 4000 sat in 2 weeks ?!?!
Who's dumping ?!
Show us your face fucking coward!

I SHIT ON YOUR FACE, BITCH !

It is no-ones fault - there is no bitch. It is by design. Look at the money supply graph posted above and explain the impact of it away by using economic principles.

I'm the top miner, last I checked, and using straight up server CPU resources.

You are forgetting one important factor - you are THE Wolf0 and I had to take off my shoes when I typed this. Smiley

Looking at the hash on Suprnova, I see the top 15 > 12KH/s. This is on one pool so there might be other farms doing just solo. This pretty much shows that after the first few hours the coin is already out of reach of CPU mining. The GPU's have taken over in order to get that kind of hash. Unless of course you setup CPUs on 30 PCs running on this but that would not be feasible energy wise.

Anyways, at least I got about 4 coins right at the start and now just dust. Ill leave the mix of CPUs on it for a few days for another coin or two and then shut the CPU miners down.

There probably is some data to get out of this test, but so far the prima facie similarities with monero and all those other X coins are striking. When I left those coins way back they were all text based. What I like about Sup though is the nice graphical wallet and I can see a lot of hard work went into it. There were also excellent work done on the pools to have everything work so smoothly. I am super impressed by the pools especially with Suprnova. I am just disappointed with effort that went into getting GPU miners working before the launch as it took the CPUs out way too early. The distribution of the coins will be very narrow to the GPU miners which is a pity as broad based distribution (BBD) is a key factor to reduce the risk of a coin being manipulated or being dumped on by some unscrupulous miners. I think the hash rates are supporting my concerns and disappointment and indicative of an BBD opportunity missed. I will keep watching it though and look for opportunities in the markets once listed.

A large pre-mine is always a sword over a dev's head and a ball chained to his leg. He will never get rid of those until he gets rid of the pre-mine and many devs do just that.

Is it possible to put 2 decimals in the Khash column of the worker page on Suprnva? So that our poor souls with CPU can see a number. It seems to round to closest number.
2856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [SUP] Supcoin, PLUCK ALGORITHM, Download wallets now, Mine Feb 19th! on: February 20, 2015, 01:59:14 AM
this coin should be launched with cpu. if not will be raped as all coins.

Exactly, but everyone rushed to get our the GPU miners before launch for obvious reasons. It should not have been market as a CPU mining coin. Anyways, that's life and human nature.

Ill put CPUs on it since I just have production machines without high end GPUs. I doubt Ill get any coins or maybe a handful. Ill wait for the exchanges then.

You good batch your cpus up onto 1 worker and rent them? Might earn you more

Ahmed

Nah, Ill just play with the CPU mining myself as it is fun to do the old school stuff once in a while even though it will be of academic nature in this case - pulling a knife in a gunfight. I know it sounds like sour grapes then I am sorry.

Anyways, good work on getting the GPU miners ready in time,  and I hope the people with Nvidia cards make a killing. djm34 and Wolf0 you guys got some serious skillz and doing wonderful work for crypto. Smiley

If I connect to Suprnova before launch will I be able to test and see how my workers perform on the site?
2859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [SUP] Supcoin, PLUCK ALGORITHM, Download wallets now, Mine Feb 19th! on: February 19, 2015, 07:18:49 PM
25 KH/s is fucked up https://sup.rnova.cc
with the CPU here not fuck to do

Where are you seeing 25KH/s? The CUDA miner is barely as fast as a CPU, as well...
must be me  Grin
2x980 + 1x780+1x750ti = 25kh/s

980: 8.5kh/s
780ti 7kh/s
750ti 2kh/s
djm34 получил GPU MINER
с процессором здесь является не что делать

As I said - it will still be easy to mine coins with CPU - the GPU miner isn't so fast it makes CPU mining pointless.

If that is the case, then why the extreme effort to have a GPU miner ready before launch?

Some interesting info:

Growth in coin supply up to block 162897

Top 20 stakes received in size:

Link to largest block up to that point:

At the time 10K was trading at around 9500. That one stake was therefore 0.4 BTC if sold immediately.
