2181  Economy / Services / WANTED: Logo+Web design for bitcoincoop.com [CANCELED] on: October 04, 2011, 12:42:44 PM
would like a professional-looking website done for Bitcoin Co-op (bitcoincoop.com).

depending on your skill, please bid on logo or website, or both.

i'd like a very simple, clean look... http://bayfiles.com is a good example.

please post your price in btc OR if you would like to be part of the co-op, post your bid as a % (for more details on the co-op, please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=46787.0)

thank you Cheesy
2182  Bitcoin / Project Development / Bitcoin Co-op - Let's build some new businesses! on: October 04, 2011, 12:31:48 PM
i'm starting a new website as sort of an 'umbrella' site which will help me organise and build many new projects and also let people share in profits based on their contribution to each project.

this is going to be hard to explain at first, until i get a lot more documentation and development done on the idea, but for starters, please have a read of http://bitcoincoop.com

maybe it's possible to do things via gblse.com but i feel like that will make things way more complicated than they need to be.

so any way, this co-op will hopefully build many new bitcoin-related businesses and give all the contributors a share of the profits of each business.

the very first 'project' on the list will be to build the first pieces of the co-op itself (logo and initial website).
2183  Economy / Services / Wanted: PHP email parser on: October 04, 2011, 11:44:43 AM
i'd like a php script which can take input from an email.

for example, i email phpscript@example.com with the following:

blahblah
123
blah

the script then saves this to a text file or db <-- you don't actually need to give me this part as long as i can see clearly some variables in the script that contain the various email components.

preferably stripped down and simple as possible code.
preferably procedural code, not oop.

instructions/help to get it installed under debian.

thanks Cheesy
2184  Economy / Services / Re: 9,000 MH/s rental on: October 04, 2011, 11:16:38 AM
Im curious why you'd do this? Whether you get the BTC revenue from mining or someone renting the farm, i dont quite see the point? Unless you have a small pool, with 9GH you wouldnt see a lot of variability over the course of a month...

BTW, however got that 30 day contract probably did a good deal as difficulty is about to drop quite a bit.

yeah that was me... i paid 150 btc for the 30 days and so far i'm projecting it to return at least 165 to 170 (a bit too early to guess yet, plus it looks like difficulty might drop again next week Cheesy)

i'll report back here with more specifics once the contract term ends (around oct 28).

2185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGOX Withdrawal issue on: October 04, 2011, 05:58:11 AM
Please be aware that due to the sudden increase in AML requests, processing of submitted documentation has become slightly delayed.

it was suggested by neofutur on irc that i need to wait 2-10 days after my last email (last thursday) for an outcome.

so hopefully 'slightly delayed' means 3-11 days  Sad
2186  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Introducing... BITNOT.ES... Record and share address labels and other info on: October 04, 2011, 02:13:08 AM
Still working on the site?

not really, thanks for asking.

i'd happily sell it really cheap if someone wants to take over.

i'm trying to focus more on things which actually bring me income Cheesy
2187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price halved, miners leaving, is there a future for a market? on: October 03, 2011, 06:30:18 AM
Get ready for $1 bitcoins at the end of this month.

If that happens, I will instantly buy 10,000 BTC, and I won't be the only one.

Yeah I'm sure people will, there are a lot of suckers out there.

you mean the suckers that sell their bitcoins for a dollar each?
2188  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Australians: Deposit cash, receive bitcoins. Send bitcoins, receive cash. on: October 03, 2011, 04:49:39 AM
1) most people will probably have to invert that rate as 1 AUD = 0.18 BTC has no meaning to most people until you flip it on it's head: $5.55 per btc.

2) the links at the bottom probably need an update: this forum has moved and also you're linking to mybitcoin.com

2189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGOX Withdrawal issue on: October 03, 2011, 03:35:46 AM
My account was under review after the phishing attacks due to multiple ip log in. Took about a week for them to get things back to normal with some emailing back a forth, but my withdrawals to Dwolla takes only minutes.

you got a reply from aml@mtgox.com ?

my last reply from them was *2 weeks* ago!

so someone recommends i leave a personal message for mark in irc... did that on thursday, friday and now today.

i've also last week sent a PM to 'mtgox support' on this forum, who also said they forwarded my issue to support.

It took 4 days for me to first hear from Mark after sending my first email on Sept.10 to aml@mtgox.com

I did see a pasted irc chat saying they had over 2000 account flagged for review due to earlier phishing attacks, so I wasn't too worried though at the time.

likewise mark sent me a reply fairly quickly after my first email to aml. he asked me for a utility bill, but that was two full weeks ago and haven't heard anything from them since, even though i've sent multiple IDs and multiple proof of address.

they could at least reply and say what else (if anything) is required of me.

instead i'm left completely in the dark as to what's going on with the account.

2191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are criminals stealing electricity to mine bitcoins yet? on: October 02, 2011, 12:45:49 PM
I am really quite shocked to not hear of any criminals doing this.

why would they advertise?
2192  Economy / Services / Re: WANTED: Android/java tutor on: October 02, 2011, 02:17:30 AM
Greetings,

did some apps like https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cf.btcserv

But i'am far away from a professional java guru, so it depends on what you going achieve with your project.

If you already have skills in html, javascript and css this could be very interesting for you:
http://www.phonegap.com

the fact that you have a menu with buttons that goes to different pages, which seemingly grab data from the net... that's probably 80% of what i need to start with.

i'm oldschool... i have skills in notepad... so fancy stuff like dreamweaver is beyond me.

what chat medium do you prefer?

PhoneGap has actually gotten even MORE badass in the last week. It now provides zero barrier to entry when it comes to developing cross-platform applications.

Write your app in HTML5/JS and use their web builder to make your smartphone apps: https://build.phonegap.com/

Btw buddy if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Android app development is most of my day job.

thanks! for now i've found someone (via PM) to work with, but might post occasional questions once my questions are more specific (instead of: how do you make an android app?)

How much volatility is there over one hour ?

you must be new here.

A: with bitcoin, the price could easily swing 50% or more either way in just an hour.

2194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Predictacoin on: October 01, 2011, 02:59:07 PM
the popup dialog box that says "to upload bitcoins send to this address..."

...is useless in chrome because I can't select and copy the address (i'd have to read and type the whole thing manually).

don't know about other browsers.

I'm developing on *nix which allows select+copy on dialog boxes. Will fix, thanks for feedback.

yeah i guess it's a Windows thing... because i just tried safari and it's also no help.

edit: oh wait! i was able to select+copy in opera... hooray.
2195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Predictacoin on: October 01, 2011, 02:41:49 PM
This just launched: http://www.spaculator.com/

It's a silly game now, but maybe it grows into something like an options market in the future.

Check it out, feedback welcome.

if there's anyone out there that really knows their stuff when it comes to java and android and would like to spend time helping me learn, please PM or email me at admin {} payb.tc to discuss.

i've got eclipse installed and have successfully ran a hello world example, but would like to jump into more complicated stuff right away.

payment in coins.

thanks Cheesy
2198  Economy / Services / Re: I'll glow stick to any song of your choice for 2 BTC on: October 01, 2011, 01:34:46 PM
i love seeing these kinds of things at raves. would you be able to post full body motion videos instead of just the edited one to see just the glow stick trail?

I'm sure I could, now when you mean full body motion videos, you mean just plain recorded version of glow sticking with out effects and no post processing right?

yeah i'd prefer that too... but you gotta get the balance right between too light to see the glowsticks vs too dark to see you.

by the way, until your dire straits video, i never even thought of the possibility of doing this to non-rave music.
2199  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best Android Tablet on: October 01, 2011, 11:58:42 AM
A good friend of mine has the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and loves it. Although the Kindle Fire Tablet which was announced recently wins the price war at only $200.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/09/28/kindle-fire-vs-ipad-2-vs-galaxy-tab-101_n_986195.html

does it have a proper GPS chip?
2200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #OccupyWallStreet Idea - Massive promotion on: October 01, 2011, 11:41:02 AM
a little offtopic, but check this out: http://www.observer.com

Quote
Since protestors took up residence in Wall Street's Zuccotti Park on September 17, "Occupy Wall Street" has snowballed from a small Anonymous gathering to a national movement covered by all the major news networks.

it will be awesome if some of those occupywallstreet stories start including a line or two about bitcoin.

(perhaps someone more organised can leave something in the comments section linking back to this bitcoin promo).
