So when the last coin is minted, all the miners go away.
Mining is gone, so that leaves buying/trading, and transaction fees. These two are linked, transactions fees are awarded when BitCoins are exchanged (bought/sold/etc.). no, you're confused. transaction fees are earned by miners who will gradually earn more and more transaction fees as they gradually earn less and less for block rewards. miners are here to stay.

I didn't notice the seconds hang until now is this new?
I'm asumming it goes by "block number"? if so +5 for that i was just about to post something for a suggestion on that!
it's new, TiagoTiago thought of it above. it's blockcount%144 which will occur approximately every 24 hours. ...also i put in the meta refresh for now. until i get around to doing it with ajax.

I know it doesn't always match 24 hours, that is why i called it "a Bitcoin day" instead of just "a day"; you would be counting blocks, not hours, a Bitcoin day is 144 blocks regardless of how many hours it took to get there (at least using this definition).
well, i like your idea the best, so i've done that. but unfortunately it still doesn't auto-update.

Prediction:
Coinhunter will blame BCX ass kicking attack for not being able to complete the refunding of the SC 1.04.
He will then have to start over and have a million coins for himself as well the CPF tax he is assessing on SC 2.0.
are you predicting a Solidcoin v3.0?

Ok then, I'll reply to the points one by one. If you were the owner of another one the companies leasing space would I notice or care about a 1% increase in utility costs on a monthly basis?
Just as someone might not care if they notice someone has taken $1 out of their wallet, knowing there is $99 left in there. What you are proposing is morally the same and is still theft. not if there's a pre-existing written contract that says under this tenancy '$1 may be removed from your wallet'. this is why we have written contracts. (sorry i haven't read the rest of the thread thoroughly)

Not to hijack this thread's idea, as I think it's a great one, but one other organizational thing that would go along with this is a way to filter out old threads that keep get bumped for whatever reason, but are mostly old news. To do this, if we could sort threads by the date of the first post instead of the last posting date, it would be very helpful. What would be even better, though, would be to still sort threads by last posting date, but to filter out threads with first posts older than a certain threshold. To put this into context, I don't need to see a thread entitled "RALLY!1!" when it was started months ago and has largely become divorced from the current market state.
...or at least something that makes older posts really stand out as 'old' so that you don't accidentally reply to it, thinking it was just posted. like, the posts currently alternate background colour of white/lavendar... what if any posts older than say 30 days were coloured brown... so you can easily see at a glance where an old thread was bumped.
