it depends, kodak had the choice to adapt/evolve and become the 'canon' of today's digital photography, but they didn't.
similarly WU could adapt/evolve and become the tradehill / mtgox (without the goxings!) of 2026.
just depends on whether they embrace change or not.

apply the analogy to cars then.
No. There is no reason to apply the analogy to cars. Cars are not people. Standing and walking bodies on sidewalks are not cars. Go suggest another analogy or accept the fact that people on sidewalks are not cars in motion. well, in australia at least, people can be sued for damages even if accidentally harming another person. pay attention, and don't run into anyone on the footpath, because they might just sue you.

And if I bump into you in the street because I am talking on my cell phone and not paying attention? Can you sue me for aggression? Is it the intent that matters, the action or the result of the action? I can sue you for damages. If I have brittle bones and your bumping into me causes me a six week hospital stay then the damages would be steep. Bitcoin2cash throws common sense out the window again. No surprise though. You would have no case here as it's obvious you're the one who is aware of both your condition and the general conditions of what sidewalks are like. The world does not work the way you think it does. Sorry. apply the analogy to cars then. you are driving and some other driver is talking on his cellphone and not paying attention... he bumps into your car and puts a scratch in it... it's completely an accident and you should be aware of the fragile state of your paint job and the general conditions of what roads are like. you most certainly can sue the other driver for damages.

But I've never received a tip.
fixed omg, thank you! I just got it. You totally made my day. hehe no problem... this is exactly why i prefer tipping many small amounts rather than a few big ones. when just 1 btc can potentially put 50+ people in a good mood

but i wonder it that is just some kind of google trickery. (because google has learned that 比特币 = bitcoin so it also returns results for bitcoin, even from pages that don't include 比特币) edit: i guess not... 'bitcoin' doesn't appear to be known to google translate yet.

If you disable notifications it doesn't remove the thread from the list? What if you edit a post and modify the subscription options?
in the 'additional options' it has 'notify me of replies' unchecked. but notify is all about getting an email to your inbox, isn't it? nothing to do with Show new replies to your posts.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is crossing any whole dollar price so psychologially difficult?
|
on: October 01, 2011, 03:02:03 AM

When people input orders they usually choose round numbers. Say you have 100 Bitcoins and you want to sell them. The price is at 4.78 and you think: "Maybe it will go up to 5 so I can cash $500". So you put a sell order at $5. These barriers are made by people so you should expect some "regular" numbers ($5.1, $5, $5.35 are much more likely than $5.2412413)
Of course this doesn't always happen. Sometimes the barriers are also related to supports/resistances from technical analysis.
also, it's our conditioning to base 10. in base 9 for example using a satoshi as the base unit, 5.00000000 translates to 12.54748045.

currently we have:
Show unread posts since last visit. Show new replies to your posts.
i would like to see a combination called:
Show new replies to your posts since last visit.
so basically when you first click on it, it shows you all the new replies to your posts, but then it also CLEARS that list regardless of which ones you view on that visit.
i don't really need to see List of honest traders every single time i visit the forum, but i'm stuck with it being in my 'new replies' list.
If you don't wanna watch a thread anymore you can unsubscribe. i wonder how... i thought unsubscribe was directly related to 'notify', which i have never clicked.

i think i've tipped more times than i can count, because i'd rather tip many people a small amount than tip a few people a big amount.
receiving 0.02 is infinitely better than receiving 0.

i agree with OP
thread locking should be a priveledge afforded to admins/mods only.
Thread locking should be based on section, in the marketplace it should be encouraged after a transaction is complete or no longer avilable true. what i dislike (and what i think the OP is getting at) is when someone starts a discussion and then when people flame or disagree he takes his ball and goes home and says NO ONE can play.

Just go to the page which will load the script. Disconnect from the network. Run the script. Make address pairs to your hearts conntent. Save all the files in a secure location. Reconnect to the evil internet. Of course you must be aware of any key loggers, etc.
well yes you could do that. although i was thinking more of transporting the javascript via USB to some '100% offline' machine. anyway, awesome site, is it yours? mrb: in the past (in older versions), i've found that method hanging bitcoind after 1 or 2 hundred. haven't tried with newer versions.
