1661  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Rejects 9 Bitcoin ETF Applications Whats Next Target of bitcoin? - 23 Aug18 on: August 23, 2018, 05:30:22 AM
Whats prediction now within year end ?
Market is already red - https://coinmarketcap.com/

"market" is read again because altcoins are still on a dumping spree that has not yet come close to an end. they continue losing value as their bubbles run out of air. talking about it here however is very irrelevant.

as for SEC and ETF, i am wondering how many more times they have to reject ETFs before we stop even caring about them or talk about them. so far i think they have rejected ETFs at least 20 to 30 times starting from last year.
1662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sending bitcoin cash on: August 23, 2018, 05:21:46 AM
if by "to blockchain" you mean to "blockchain.info web wallet" then you need to do the following:
1- retrieve the corresponding private key of the address that you send BCH to, from your bitcoin wallet on blockchain.info.
1.1. unfortunately blockchain.info removed export private keys a while ago so you can't do it easily. what you need to do is to retrieve your seed (it is called recovery phrase) which is a set of words and then use a tool like https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ (download the source code and use it offline). enter the seeds in first box then from derivation path choose BIP32 and set the client to blockchain.info

1.2. now look for your address in the list that was generated at the bottom. and copy the private key.

2. go to a BCH wallet that supports importing (like Electron cash) and import the key there and now you have access to your funds.
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is so resilient (while ETH is not)? on: August 22, 2018, 07:18:51 AM
because you were being told that bitcoin is slow and has disadvantages, you never came up to this conclusion yourself. in other words you are a "parrot". bitcoin is neither slow nor has the disadvantages that you hear.

now to answer your question, bitcoin is strong because it is useful. bitcoin as the only decentralized currency with high security has a lot of utilities.
at the same time ETH has no usage whatsoever. it so far has only been used to create useless ICOs and their hype partly pumped ether's price and as that hype wears away, ether price also drops hard.

that is demand. considering supplies bitcoin has a limited supply that is capped at 21 million and so far a little more than 17 million of it is in circulation.
ethereum on the other hand has no cap and there is unlimited supply of it possible. and currently more than 100 million of it is in circulation. that is another reason for its long term price decline.
1664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Know when to stop a HODL/HOLD on: August 22, 2018, 06:34:39 AM
its being smart about your own invesment know when to stop and cut the losses.

exactly.
people always focus on how much they can make that they are blindsided about the dumping part of it. in other words they become what we call "bag holders" who are newbies who buy a lot of altcoins and call it "portfolio" and then they can not do anything about the fall because ALL of their coins fall together and fall hard. and as they fall none of them has any exit plans, they just continue bag holding because someone once told them the price of their shitcoin is going to be equal to bitcoin's. Cheesy
1665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best time to invest in Ethereum has come again! on: August 22, 2018, 06:19:43 AM
this is one of the most common mistakes that the newcomer investors in altcoins make. basically you are saying now that price has fallen it is a good time to invest. but the reality is that falling doesn't make it a good investment. reaching the bottom does.

and ethereum has not yet reached its bottom. if you look back through the topics you can see that at every $100 drop people made at least a dozen topics saying it is a good time to invest in ETH because it has fallen and then it fell some more.
1666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin reach $25000 by the end of the year? on: August 22, 2018, 05:44:52 AM
$25,000 USD is 303% increase of Bitcoins current price of $6,200 USD. Last years bull run from $3,500 USD to $19,200 USD is 400% increase. So if what happened last year will happen also today with no other problem like another hacking incident of a major exchange site or maybe fake news, $25,000 USD is possible by end of this year.

well the important difference to consider is the fact that last year we were in a bull run that was going on without any stop. so that kind of rise was easier to achieve. but now are not in a bull run (i wouldn't  call this a bear market either) and because of that such big rises can not happen like they did last year. we need to first get out of this state before seeing big rises again.
1667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's stop comparing Bitcoin to Ethereum or any other Cryptos on: August 22, 2018, 05:39:33 AM
it is the bag holder mentality and you can not stop it.
every time bitcoin price rises, a lot of newbies start coming in and when they do and see the high price they think to themselves that they have missed the chance to buy bitcoin. then the scammers use this mentality to feed them their own shitcoin. so the newbies end up thinking they have found something at its early stages like bitcoin was when it was worth a lot less and they start investing in it and then constantly talk about how it is like bitcoin. that is where the comparing comes from.
1668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today`s bitcoin market is pretty quite slow! on: August 22, 2018, 05:26:50 AM
in any market there are long term investors (aka holders) and short term traders that you are calling stupid! their existence is a part and parcel of any market and it is not creating more or less volatility if one group is bigger than another.
the main issue with bitcoin market is that the market is basically a bunch of exchanges which are not fully trusted by any of the traders. this means the market will remain small. bitcoin itself is small too so we end up with a thin order book and higher volatility.
1669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never Give Up on Your Dreams on: August 21, 2018, 06:12:16 AM
funny picture but the reality is nothing like that picture. having a "dream" alone is not going to get you anywhere. in this scenario people who have "dreams" and are in altcoin market are usually digging a whole towards an illusion. there is no "diamonds" at the end of that tunnel they are digging, what lies there is just an illusionary diamond they made up in their head. when they dig that tunnel deep enough they reach a ledge where they fall off into the abyss losing a lot of money and going bankrupt as that "tunnel" is destroyed on their heads as the wise investors dump their coins on their heads.
1670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Coin and Token? on: August 21, 2018, 05:57:38 AM
when it comes to usage there is absolutely no difference between a coin and a token. you can use both in to achieve the same result because they both have value and can be transferred. for example when you want to buy a cup of coffee, you can use fiat, or you can use bitcoin or you can use some shitty ICO token.

but the difference is in how they each work. for example bitcoin is a stand alone blockchain that doesn't rely on anything else. it is also secure and tested properly so that it doesn't have any bugs. it is also accepted and known by most people.
but a token is relying on another blockchain so it  can never be stand alone. if that third party blockchain has issues then the token also has issues. for instance you can see as ETH network clogs up, you can no longer use any tokens either because the network is congested! there is also the problem that nobody knows or uses them and also they are not tested and contain lots of bugs that can and are being exploited.
1671  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10million in 2023 possible? on: August 21, 2018, 05:19:45 AM
These predictions are giving us hope about the future of bitcoin but we all know that bitcoin is know for its volatile and unstable characteristics.

actually predictions like these are the worst things that can happen to bitcoin because they are practically encouraging people into thinking that they can become rich with bitcoin just by holding it. and eventually they are advertising the "get rich with bitcoin" way of thinking which is terrible because bitcoin was never meant to be used like that. bitcoin is meant to be a currency which you use just like you use any other  currency not just an investment you hoard in hopes of getting rich.
1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Warren Buffet , Bill Gates , ... call Bitcoin a scam ? on: August 21, 2018, 05:08:00 AM
as above poster said, none of them have actually called bitcoin a "scam". i think you have been reading too much FUD that you are too caught up in their nonsense. these people you named aren't happy about bitcoin and have been speaking against it but never like that. they were mostly warning about the future of it saying "it will end bad" and there are a lot of reasons for them including the fact that they are feeling threatened by bitcoin's existence and the way it is decentralizing monetary system in the whole world with a global decentralized payment system that they can not do anything about.
1673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will decentralised exchanges be the future ? on: August 21, 2018, 05:02:32 AM
i don't think centralized exchanges are going anywhere or even changing in the future. they may become more secure but that would be about it.
at the same time decentralized exchanges will grow but as an additional option that you can use if you wanted to go that rout and needed the decentralization. but there is still a lot of downsides to them for example you can not trade with fiat on a decentralized exchange, it still remains easier to use  centralized ones for that matter.
1674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of all projects is worthless and not worth a cent. What do you think? on: August 18, 2018, 05:39:18 AM
that is mainly what i have been saying for a very long time.
the altcoin market is filled with a lot of useless tokens that are only used inside exchanges by speculators to make money and nothing else. and since creation of a new coin is easy and creation of a new ICO token is even easier we keep seeing lots and lots of them being created for pump and dump purposes. and useless tokens like Ether benefit from this situation and increase their price as the ICO hype increases.

as for the project you just advertised here, i don't see any difference between it and the rest of them to be honest. it is just another "nice words and promises" because it is new and will end up like the rest!
1675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC will hit 500++ on july 15 2019 on: August 18, 2018, 05:18:03 AM
first of all this is bitcoin speculation board not altcoins. we have another board for that.

second, you say it will be in July 2019 which is nearly a year from now! there is no point in speculating about something that is too far away.

and finally you have to remember that the halving hype always begins in a couple of months prior to the halving and the pump comes by that time not any sooner. so even if you wanted to buy and make profit from that pump you should start doing so in May or June 2019 which is still a far away target. and the price will depend on what the price will start at in those months. for example if it starts at $250 it can go up to $500 but if it is lower like being at $100 there is so little chance to do a 5x pump.
1676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To survive the bear market I am chainging my strategy on: August 18, 2018, 05:09:52 AM
I saw all my hard work from doing bounties in 2017 go down the drain this year. My portfolio has gone down 99.4% so I had to do something to survive this terrible ordeal.

i'm sorry but if you have actually lost 99.4% of your investment then you can't survive anything because you are already dead!
for example if you have invested $10,000 now you have only $60 left! that is called being bankrupt...

i also don't understand your "strategy" because you are claiming to have lost nearly all of your money because you did a "long term hold" but then in your strategy you say you are still choosing altcoins for long term holding!
so from what i see, you are making the same mistake again but now you have added day trading profit to your overall strategy.
1677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Staking on: August 18, 2018, 04:59:16 AM
you should never click on links like that. you will come to rue the day  you clicked them Smiley

as for ETH staking, ethereum is not yet switched to PoS so there is no staking despite all the promises to make the switch! and there may not be any for a very long time.
if a website is promising you such returns then they are definitely scamming you, stay away.
1678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin blockchain Or Bitcoin price, which makes it the top cryptocurrency? on: August 18, 2018, 04:51:06 AM
people always focus on one or two reasons thinking that one reason is why bitcoin is big and has a high price. but they miss the fact that there are a lot of reasons why bitcoin is like this right now and usually those reasons such as being first, being popular,... or like what OP thinkgs the blockchain or price are not even main reasons.

the main reason in my opinion is that bitcoin works as it should and does it in the most secure and decentralized way. there are always downsides in any system but there are more benefits in bitcoin than there are negatives and that makes it big and successful while others struggle.
1679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think about Ethereum Classic being added to Coinbase? on: August 17, 2018, 07:01:03 AM
it was one of the most disappointing additions ever in the history of altcoins being added to a new exchange in my opinion.
usually when something like that happens the price of that altcoin shoots up a lot because of the hype that comes with this kind of news but for ETC, there was realistically no rise at all since the rise it had in the past day was due to the recovery that it had after its massive dump.

So I think by adding ETC, Coinbase is giving the Ethereum platform a greater support.
not really!
these are exchanges, and exchanges add coins that have high trading volume enough for them to make profit. it is not "support" and it means nothing.
1680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: we are very close to the end of the dumps (aka bottoms) on: August 17, 2018, 06:48:59 AM
I hope that it is true information because I think a lot of people here have lost amount of money and this stagnancy is not so convincing at all here.
this is not information to be true or false! this is speculation...

I also believe the same. I think $6k is the lowest and once it goes above $6.5k it will continue to rise again. Just like the past few months.
this is altcoin board not bitcoin...

Lows are lower than we expected. Personally, I don't see a lot of room to go down for many alts, but you'll never know, this is an uncharted territory.
this isn't really uncharted territory though. it is the same thing that always happens. altcoins get hyped and pumped a lot then they crash back down to their pre-pump values. it is how the market works.

However, I think the end of the bear market may require most of the ALT to die.
At the moment, most tokens are headed toward ZERO, so I think the bear market will end soon.

i completely agree.
as i said, the dumps are still ongoing. prices need to go down but now they are going down much easier than before because bag holding is not as serious an issue as before. many of these useless tokens are headed to the graveyard because that is where they belong.

And then what? Another shitcoins will appear and give some traffles to the market as so they can use it for some market scams?
These people whose working behind the scenes is the only one getting some profits just for releasing and introducing ICOs in the community or even in the world.
I guess there should be atleast some memorandum of agreement for the companies that wants to launch some ICOs, it's just a sad thing the most of these alts are going to be treated as garbage as they reach 0 value.

Yes, we are in the All time Low position. We just pray that this will end soon. And of course we have the opportunity to add coins when the price of coins is cheap.

And that's what I'm saying, if the markets keeps on dumping there would be more shitcoins to be introduced in the near future and more ICO Scams will be on this community again.

more shitcoins and more ICOs will be created regardless of the dumps. it is open source and easy to create some useless shitcoin and get a lot of money from idiots so why not?

and i disagree with saying it is only people behind the scenes are making profit because i and lots of other traders are also making profit. you just have to accept the fact that pump and dumps are the controlling factor in this market and learn how to make profit from them and not end up bag holding for long time.

However, I think the end of the bear market may require most of the ALT to die.
At the moment, most tokens are headed toward ZERO, so I think the bear market will end soon.
I think only 80% of altcoin will die, this market will officially enter the new change and people will invest in the top coin to be able to make a good profit. Personally I'm sure the bear market will soon end and people will get the best price if there is ETF involvement.

unfortunately the percentage is a lot lower than that. because there will always be some shitty exchange like Yobit that keeps these coins listed and pumps them at some point keeping them alive.
and as long as "top coins" are the coins with biggest market  cap, nothing will change. we need to redefine "top coins" as coins with actual usage in real world that are actually solving something not a coin that has  a huge supply hence a huge fake market cap.
