The funny thing is that in the pool almost all the top guys did not move positions,showing that most of us believed to much in Verstappen and Redbull.I got this race the lowest ever amount of points including EBP I only got 7 points . Mercedes I think made an error to not let Hamilton pass Russell when Hamilton was near 1 second faster than his team mate,the end of the race would have been a much much different story then but Mercedes believed more in Russell this time,he tried and over did it by hitting the wall desperately trying to catch Norris and Sainz. I didn't sacrifice my EBP points and change my prediction because last time I did it, I finally lose some points, and being late few times cost me several positions in the leaderboard because of those missing EBP points (along with the pole position one) despite knowing the starting grid positions. Red Bull Racing team encountered numerous technical issues for preparing the cars of Verstappen and Sergio Perez for this Grand Prix, but they should be ok next week for Japan Grand Prix race at Suzuka. They are already saying so but FIA has lately made a change to the regulations that maybe they were thinking Redbull was using that as a grey area and this was the first race after such regulations.I am not saying that most probably FIA hit it right away and even if they don't do well at Suzuka I would not be surprised that much,they are already Champions for this season so I expect them to take things calmly and maybe they are already thinking about next year car because in the remaining races the competition cannot hit them hard,there is simple not enough time and races to overthrow them from the reigning positions. |

Arsenal nearly surprised us again when they ended 0-0 the first half I thought that maybe they were going to lose their game 1-0 like they did last season where it costed them the complete Premier League in that lost game against Everton together with the draw at home against Southampton.

Wow not a single one of the main favorites in this league won their game during this weekend.Paris,Monaco,Lens and Marseille all failed to win and they all lost or drew their games which makes this week in the French Ligue 1 really strange to say the least,I never have seen the same happening here before especially when three of these favorites were playing at their home field except Monaco which was playing away and a draw is not the end of the world nor a big surprise result,these are three though are huge surprises in the results of this league,I wonder if anyone of us has hit a win in sport betting in this league as it seems quite impossible with these results.

Different race today in F1 where Ferrari won a deserved race but greatly helped by the Safety Car perfectly timed when they were about to enter pit stops anyway,this translated to very bad luck for Redbulls who were planning on staying ahead while the Ferraris should have been in traffic when they came out of the pit stops if there were no Safety Car.Well played in the end by Sainz who gave DRS to Norris that helped himself defend against hungry Mercedes with medium tires which unfortunately Russell hit the wall by pushing way to hard to fight for that win.In the pool I am sure this is a race with a very few points compared to the last one.
Sainz was really big brain today. Carlando did a great teamwork about keeping Mercedes drivers behind themselves. Sainz completely deserved this win as a result. Ferrari needed to make a sacrifice and they chose Leclerc for that I'm afraid. I wish Leclerc managed to finish the race on podium at least. Mercedes rolled the dice and got medium tyres for a full push to win the race. Especially Russell was so fast but he couldn't do it and he even made a shocking mistake in the final lap. If he chilled a little more maybe he wouldn't have hit the wall and been DNF. Good weekend for Ferrari anyway! Leclerc was sacrificed to favor Sainz win and in the end Ferrari was right because they won the race as the end result.The Safety Car was a super big help for Sainz in this race as it was timed perfectly before the top guys were to enter pit stop anyway and this was a big unlucky moment for Redbull. I agree though,Redbull looked more like a normal car during today race and next race we will have our answer,even if FIA made this change to regulations to stop Redbull unfortunately only 7 or 8 races remain which does not do any harm to Redbull campaign anyway for this season at least. |

The best thing of all this race was the Mercedes race engineer of Russell in the early stages of the race which said explicitly what happened and the radio message was "It looks like Ferrari is trying to sacrifice Leclerc" and they did so for real.They at least by doing so won the race today much different from Monza and Sainz was very smart to give DRS to Norris to protect himself in the later stages of the race from the two Mercedes cars.Mercedes on the other hand did not do what Ferrari usually does,they did not let Hamilton go through despite him being 0.8 seconds faster than Russell otherwise we would have seen an even more beautiful ending to the race.

In the French league we have started with surprise results,funny how both Lens and Paris lost their game at their home field against what I would call weaker opponents.Most likely these two teams underestimated their opponents and are now giving hope to Monaco and Marseille which play today and should definitely try to maximize out of those results and win their respective games with Marseille playing at home which I think should have an easier job than Monaco.
The Ligue 1 is becoming more and more open this actual season while several other seasons before was dominated by Paris and this is a really good thing for such league.

There are many things about football competition in Asia that still need better development and maybe a decade from now it won't be enough to make Asia even better in competing in the World Cup, in fact, I think Africa is still much better and has a greater chance of becoming champion. I would say that neither Asia nor Africa has a chance to win the world cup, considering teams from Europe and Latin America still end up being a lot better. Those nations have a football culture that dates back nearly hundred years, which means that they have a lot more chances to improve during that time. Whereas if we are talking about Africa, that is a bit earlier than Asia, so they did their time and they are getting better, they have been getting better for a while now and I am assuming that the money football brings to them must be a good feeling. Looks like Inter has truly consolidated themselves with this devastating win against arch rivals in their derby game against Milan.I think that they are the strongest contender to the title this year and that I have not seen yet from other teams such amazing performances as Inter has done in these initial games of the Serie A.They may be just initial games but as they say the sun can be spotted early in the morning which means that Inter truly is on another level this year compared to all other teams,they scored a lot of goals against Fiorentina which is not a weak team and today they scored even more against an even stronger team.I am going to check what the odd is for them to win the Serie A and if it good enough I am betting a lot of money on them to win Serie A this year.

As I was saying some days ago FIA can change the rules whenever they want.
This weekend they changed a rule for the control of the deflection of the wings, RBR needed to change them and we got bad results.
The next GP we will know if they removed the dominance of the RBR or if it was just a case.
And yes it was a grey area used mostly by RBR.
Of course FIA does not like such huge dominance as most people will stop watching races when they know that only one team is winning all the races and this translates to losing a lot of money for FIA and also a lot of prestige as one of the most prestigious sports in the world.I don't think though that with a single move FIA to be smart enough to stop Redbull even if the strength of Redbull came from such only one point in this grey area,I think that Redbull is strong overall and most likely they will adjust to the new regulations of the FIA.For tomorrow though Max is not hopeful at all for a good race. |
