1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have bitcoin, what do you guys recommend I buy as well on: March 01, 2023, 02:38:00 PM
I have a good amount of btc that I'm very pleased with. I love btc. Are there any other coins you guys could recommend I buy next? (none of your comments count as financial advice)

Bitcoin is obviously King but there are alts that you can make good money on. Ethereum did a better ROI than bitcoin in the last cycle. It could do so again maybe!

Many alts have the potential to do a much bigger x than bitcoin but there is much more risk involved than simply buying & holding the safest option by far, bitcoin.

1182  Other / Off-topic / Re: BTC price prediction on: March 01, 2023, 01:29:30 PM
I think there will be no change in price for another 2-3 years.

The halving is in just over one year so I’m quite confident you’re wrong on that. Only time will tell but I think we 100% see above $100,000 before 2026. We usually see a meteoric rise after each block reward halving. History doesn’t repeat but it often rhymes.
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Shouldn’t Regulate Crypto Stablecoins, Says Circle CEO on: February 28, 2023, 03:23:05 PM
I think proof of reserves is a good idea but I’m not too sure about total regulation. Tether for example has proven time & time again that they are legit & very much solvent.

We can look at what happened this year with the LUNA-UST peg as reason why regulation could be important. I’d be behind it if the SEC was doing it for the right reasons but they’re not. Look at their relationship with SBF & FTX for example.
1184  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why Dogs and Cats are the Most Popular Choice for an ESA on: February 28, 2023, 02:13:05 PM
A pet can be a member of the family, they can show love & affection towards you & make you happy. Dogs especially are so loyal & loving, you are their entire world. All they want from you is your love & attention.
A dog will always be by your side & won’t betray you like a human can.

Cats are nice pets but they are more independent than dogs & aren’t quite as affectionate. They require less attention from you though so that can be a positive. It depends what you want from a pet. You can leave cats & go out for half a day. You can’t really do that to dogs though.
1185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Leverage Liquidity Map: Shorts dominating leverage trading on: February 26, 2023, 11:59:22 PM
We still haven’t had a retest of 20k, I think we could possibly see a dip to 20k & it’ll be interesting to see what happens if we do go there. Is support good enough or are new lows possible? We can see 25k is resistance, we're just ranging right now until there is a break below 20k or above 25k.
1186  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is going to DESTROY DeSantis in the GOP Primaries. on: February 26, 2023, 11:55:48 PM
If you guys want to win some easy money I suggest placing a bet on Trump.

I agree, Donny is back & he means business. It’s going to be really entertaining watching the presidential campaign start once Trump wins this. I really think Trump is going to get back in for another term.

People are going to rightly or wrongly link the cost of living issues, war in Ukraine, COVID etc with Biden which means Trump holds all the aces. People are going to want chance & I think they’ll get it.
1187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I've been scared to invest in bitcoin on: February 26, 2023, 11:49:45 PM
I know volatility is a natural thing that can happen to any investment. However, it will be good to address this issue because from where I come from people are scared of investing in bitcoin, they feel its risky. Personally,  I feel there should be an increased regulatory body which will help people like me not to be scared. There should be an improvement in bitcoin infrastructure, some of these wallet aren't even user friendly and also, there should a transparency in the market. I'm still learning about the best wallet to use as a newbie though.

My question is this, is it possible for bitcoin to be completely immune to volatility in years to come?

Volatility is a good thing because it brings you opportunity to make great profits. If you play it right you can buy low & sell high. It seems simple to say but it really is but only if you have balls of steel & a high time preference.

You are going to need to be patient to guarantee a great ROI but if you can buy & wait 10 years or so, seeing bitcoin as a long term investment then you will do very well. Bitcoin is one of the best performing investments in recent history, grab yourself a piece of the pie.

1188  Other / Off-topic / Re: TikTok your opinion on: February 26, 2023, 11:45:05 PM
I think the youngsters enjoy it, it helps some businesses do well but I am far too old for that kind of stuff. Nobody wants to see a dude in his 40’s dancing around like a teenage girl.

Obviously everybody can do what they want, free speech etc but it is definitely not for me.
1189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Questions for dating on: February 26, 2023, 10:15:43 PM
You just need to be yourself, don’t try to be somebody you’re not. The worst thing you can do is try & put on a persona & the date end up being really awkward.

Just try to let it flow naturally, try & get to know her, ask her what she’s interested in, ask her what she does for a job, what she’s looking for in the dating scene.

You will be fine but remember there are lots of girls out there. If it doesn’t work out with the first one keep going.
1190  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you spend your weekends on: February 26, 2023, 09:55:18 PM
It varies from week to week but you can usually guarantee that alcohol is involved most of the time. After a long week I like to unwind & have fun with friends. I usually like sports betting too, I have a particular interest in American Football. I like eating out too, sometimes I just like to be lazy around the house, watching movies & eating crap.

1191  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe racism has come to stay!! ? on: February 26, 2023, 07:12:35 PM
I have no doubt that some level of racism exists in all parts of the world, obviously some countries more than others. Modern day First World countries are much better than they used to be. Some countries even have job positions that have to be filled by people of colour, even if they are not the best candidate for the job. They have quotas to fill.

Racism exists towards white people too. I just wish there was no racism anywhere, we all bleed red. The colour of our skin means nothing. Like I said though, we have come a long way, there has been so much progress but skin colour shouldn’t even still be being discussed.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 13 years ago Theymos sold 160btc at $0.003 per 1, lowest price ever recorded on: February 26, 2023, 04:32:26 PM
theymos is a huge part of the history of bitcoin & bitcointalk.org
He is not the first & he will not be the last to sell (in hindsight) a lot of coin for a low price. Both you & me will think the same about our sells right now, when the price hits $10,000,000 or something in the long term future.

As far as I know theymos is still very deep down the rabbit hole so don’t worry too much about how much bitcoin he may or may not have now.
1193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana was recently down, again! on: February 26, 2023, 03:49:47 PM
That coin is top 11 by marketcap, I really don’t know how. It’s had multiple downtimes since inception, it is just not good enough. I had high hopes that it could compete with & maybe even flip ETH.

How can anybody invest big money into a coin that has so many problems. Their devs need to sort it out before people totally lose confidence & all hopes of it doing well in the future disappear.
1194  Other / Off-topic / Re: How will Russia’s invasion of Ukraine hit the global economy? on: February 23, 2023, 04:36:13 PM
The biggest impact on the Western World, certainly in Europe where I currently reside is oil prices. Our heating bills have soared & diesel (fuel for our cars) has dramatically risen.

Obviously the billions upon billions of $ that we are sending them adds to the economic problems in our respective countries, inflation soars as a result. It’s a big mess to be honest & the sooner it ends, the better for all of us.
1195  Other / Off-topic / Re: Long time no see. on: February 23, 2023, 08:35:31 AM
I see you have a 2013 registration, I was 2015. There are many older members still around the forum. Obviously theymos is still active, OgNasty is still around.

I hope bitcoin changed your life & brought you some level of financial freedom. It has for me & I was 2 years later than you to the party.
1196  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Earthquakes in Turkey over 25000 persons loss their lives on: February 22, 2023, 09:30:13 PM
All we can do is pray for those who are injured or have lost people thar they love. It’s such a tragic event with so many lives lost, young & old. Nature doesn’t discriminate, natural disasters mostly can not be avoided, there is nothing that can be done to stop such devastating forces.

I just hope the people who have had their homes & lives destroyed get all the food, water, shelter & support that they need.
1197  Other / Off-topic / Re: Imagine that you wake up tommorow as president in your country? on: February 22, 2023, 08:56:53 PM
I would make bitcoin legal tender, imprison all politicians who tried to criminalise people for supposed COVID breaches during the ‘pandemic’ , sentence child sex offenders to death. There are so many policies I’d change I could be here all day.

I’d probably make a better leader than our current one. I’d tax the energy companies a big windfall tax so they didn’t keep charging average people obscene bills. I’d scrap all the green bull shit, I’d make teaching kids about transgender stuff illegal. I’d be an awesome leader tbh.
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does inflation affects bitcoin? on: February 22, 2023, 08:44:07 PM
Bitcoin is the perfect inflation cheat device but you have to be willing to hold long term. The financial situation, worldwide is a mess right now.

If we go into a deep worldwide recession then everything will nosedive, most probably bitcoin too. This just provides us with great opportunity to add to our stack though.

You will make extremely handsome profits if you buy bitcoin now.
1199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: February 22, 2023, 04:34:43 PM
It’s subjective, it all depends what you’re looking for & what your risk level is. Personally I prefer bitcoin only, I mean I have other coins but negligible amounts.

There is a much higher risk buying alts than bitcoin & even eth due to there being ceo’s, programmers etc involved.

If you want safety & reliability then buy bitcoin. If you want to chase 1000 x returns then accept that there is big risk involved, DYOR & go for it.
1200  Other / Off-topic / Re: Between a male and a female who needs education?? on: February 22, 2023, 03:07:51 PM
Both girls & boys deserve exactly the same love, care & opportunities. I don’t agree with the neglect of young girls in some parts of the world. There shouldn’t be a negative & dismissive attitude towards women anywhere.
