1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much does Bitcoin affect other cryptocurrency? on: May 17, 2023, 04:03:20 PM
USDT is a good alternative to fiat as it would be very labor intensive to go into fiat every time. USDT is very well suited to take profits and wait for some time before a new purchase, and if you no longer plan to use some part for further investments, then of course you should cash them out.

You can try to find an altcoin that will rise when bitcoin is flat or fall, but this is not an easy task. Basically, we see the market following bitcoin, so I don't see the point in looking for an altcoin that will bring in more profits compared to bitcoin, and when there is a risk that the price of this altcoin may fall significantly.
I agree, but I would change the coin, I think BUSD a lot more trustworthy. Why?  Because USDT only has USDT and no other income, if they profit they profit, if they don't then they don't. On the other hand, BUSD has binance behind it, which means even if you were to get all of the BUSD's stolen, which would drop the value to BUSD, then binance could come out, say they will take snapshot of the moment before the hacking, and then distribute everyone their BUSD back, and they can cover it 1 to 1 ratio with the profits they made, they already have tens of billions of dollars in profit to begin with, so they can cover it easily.

There is a lot bit of difference between them, one of them is trustworthy because of the company behind it, the other is being sued right now.
1482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most altcoins are fake (wakanda) on: May 17, 2023, 06:34:32 AM
There aim is to steal people's Bitcoin so they can have more Bitcoin to profit from when the bull market comes. Most altcoins are created because the founders know people are looking for the next tending project to invest into. Wakanda Inu had a good version but the founder had other plans.
Enough money wasn't used to market wakanda inu like other memecoins that millions were been used for the marketing of the project. Coins like Shiba Inu used millions for their marketing and that's why they're very popular today. Wakanda inu founders made alot of money but didn't care about the community.
They abandoned the project and that's what made many investors lose money for investing into the project. If wakanda inu wants to survive they need rebranding and have to disassociate themselves from the Inu trends or they'll be seen as another scam project looking to profits from the name.
Unfortunately this is the truth and we have to learn to live with it. I know that developers are trying to make money from people and we are just getting the short end of it. A lot of people funded a lot of projects and got nothing in return and we have to realize that it is not going to be a good thing to handle this.

We are going to end up with a lot more and people will not learn from their mistakes and they will keep on funding new projects with the hopes that the new one will be better and not scam them but almost all of them will. These are all fake stuff that will make only the developer richer and nobody else, which is why I believe that we can't really do anything that will help anyone at all.
1483  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest your money wisely - another lesson, Techie tries to suicide. on: May 16, 2023, 11:35:39 AM
I think that is true but we need to find a middle ground as well. If you think only about the risks and have no dream then you won't buy, why would you buy something you think that is risky and have no dreamy level of profit potential? But if you only think about the dream and not the risks at all, then you end up like this techie as well.

So you need to be aware of the risks, and aware of the potential profit at the same time, if you can do that then you would be able to actually make a profit from it as well, should be considered a good idea. I personally know the risks and I also end up dealing with whatever it can provide me as well, and that is why I invest what I can afford to lose. If I end up losing it all, I won't be poor, if I make profit, I will be happy. Those are the options for me.
I agree that you need to find the middle ground for sure. I do look at the villas and so forth around the city I live in. There is one for 128 million dollars, I know I will never be able to buy that ever in my life, and I do not really plan on getting that with a single trade by doing something stupid, no reason to do something like that at all.

However, I do know that I am going to work towards getting richer, so having a goal is important, I know that I would retire if I ever have 100k+ in my bank account because that's enough where I live, and that would be good enough to live until I die without ever needing a single dollar more, not even interest. But in order to reach the top of the tree, aim for the stars, if you fail, you will fall back on the tree.
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 16, 2023, 11:04:40 AM
@Sithara007 not surprised to see another country trying to cash out on the success of the T20 format but I doubt that any big star player especially from the big 3 will participate. Furthermore this league will probably be home to the reserve squad of national team’s and player’s who can’t play in league like IPL hence I don’t expect much viewership for them apart from their local fan’s.
Well.. Malaysia is not the only associate nation trying to cash in on the T20 format. Canadian Cricket Association has already announced that they will be resuming the Global T20 Canada this year. The league was started in 2018 and the second edition was staged in 2019. But after that the organizers faced some difficulties as a result of COVID and the 2020-2022 editions were cancelled. Yuvraj Singh is one of the players who will feature in GLT20. He will be representing the Toronto Nationals franchise. There are rumors that Kieron Pollard will be participating, but there is no confirmation as of now.
It's good news for the game of cricket as now we have too many countries are interested in franchise cricket specially which are economically strong because this will help them and also few other boards which will be able to send their players here in these leagues for experience and money as well but sadly here we have one issue we have no luxury like soccer as too many leagues can go through once and all have equal fanbase even this is possible but surely going to take good time.

MCA is surely doing good, and they can do much better than many countries but here I want they try to have support from few other regional countries as well which will create good interest in this region like they have Southeast Asian games franchise like this surely can help them better financially with fanbase could be also huge.
1485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 16, 2023, 09:18:03 AM
Out of the total of 188/9 made by Gujarat Titans, 101 was made by Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan made 47. So these two made 148 out of 188 runs. Extras contributed to 13 runs. So the remaining 9 Gujarat batsmen (including Hardik Pandya and David Miller) made just 27 runs, at an average of 3 runs per player. Five Gujarat batsmen made 0 runs. It was a match of many extremes and in the end GT prevailed and earned a playoff spot. The collapse of middle order batsmen should worry them, though. BTW, can someone explain why Dasun Shanaka was in the playing XI? He didn't bowled a single over yesterday.
Dasun Shanaka is good batsman with good skills of bowling as well but may be Hadick Pandya have him as batsman and there was not enough time after Gill and Sudharan partnership which allow him to bat but still this is strange Pandya not use him as bowler even they were in good command from early overs, and he deserves some chance for bowling as well.

In batting both teams have collapse with just total four batsmen able to score big runs and few runs from SRH tail-enders but GT needs to work on batting because now they are at top and already have spot for the play-offs which needs better effort from all team for to defend of title with most chances for me, they will be champions again and with this performance Hardick Pandya deserve captain of Indian white ball teams as well.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 16, 2023, 06:23:23 AM
In terms of experience, there wasn't much difference between Ireland and Bangladesh. Ireland had included most of their senior players, including Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie, Josh Little and Andy McBrine. The way they lost the two ODI matches was disappointing. In both the matches, they were in winning position, and lost out in the final overs. Team bonding and understanding was missing in their performance, while Bangladesh worked together as a team perfectly. Anyway, they have one more chance to qualify for the ODI World Cup in June this year, and they should work hard for that.
We have good fight in both ODI from the Ireland which is good sign for team which is new and trying to have good impact on their performance, but this is not easy because it needs more practice and good number of matches which will bring good quality and spirit of fight for them as well.

In these both ODI we have good fight, and they lost narrowly which is also good because Bangladesh is also now having good experience and can fight hard until last ball which is surely going to have good results for them in near future as well now it's all on ICC how they manage to create more opportunities for these teams to have more international matches and improve their quality level which create good entertainment for cricket fans in future.
1487  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if BTC won't see ATH again? on: May 14, 2023, 09:08:25 AM
I believe in BTC and the more i see post like this i feel even better, because this resits every year .... lol Grin Grin
It seems to me that one day there will be a breakdown in cycles anyway, because it turns out it is very easy to buy bitcoin before the halving and sell afterwards. One day there will be a manipulation which will panic on the market and most people will lose money. Statistically there is no 100% repeat of cycles, especially in such a manipulative market as cryptocurrencies.
I think it may, but not anytime soon if you ask me. I understand that it may "look" easy to you, buy today when it's low, and sell one year after the halving, and keep repeating that to get rich. It's such a simple method and people should do that without a doubt.

However, the reason why it won't change anytime soon is the fact that it is not going to be an easy task, it's going to take some time before people can realize it, sure you know it and yes I am aware of it, I learned this last time it happened, and used it this time and made some profit. But not everyone knows about this so there will be a lot of people who would be fooled by cycles and they will not make a lot of money. Until people all learn about this cycle, it's not going to work at all, it will not change much.
1488  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Early Profit can be misleading. on: May 14, 2023, 06:11:23 AM
I think it's just the opposite. long-held gains are the most deceptive. I even experienced it myself, if the coin is at the peak of the bull, there is no reason to hold it, even if it goes up, the risk when holding it is much higher. I experience this very often, it's good to take advantage early. especially if the project has just been listed on the market. playing the price with fast time is the best to make profit.
Definitely depends on the project and the place it is going towards. Like for example if we are talking about long term bitcoin holding, even if you are holding when it's at peak price, if you didn't buy at the peak price then it doesn't matter.

My idea has always been more about buying bitcoin and not selling it at any point, buy it when it is 1k, buy it when it is 5k, buy it when it is 15k, and buy it when it is 100k, keep buying it whatever the price is. The logic is that, maybe I can trade and make more money if I sell at the top and buy at the bottom, but I may miss that and make a loss, however if I keep buying bitcoin then it should not be an issue and we will be doing fine without a worry. I personally am doing as fine as it gets, and do not feel worried about it at all.
1489  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: May 13, 2023, 11:35:49 AM
Spending money on unnecessary things is not always a bad idea, especially if it contributes to your happiness. But there is a line between spending money on things that genuinely brings you joy and wasting away your hard earned income making purchases that fall short of your expectations. Spending money on things that will make you is not unnecessary things, spending money on flexing live, will put you in problem, and  to avoid unnecessary problems in the way you spend, make a better plans for your monthly payment, write down your needs, give priority to them, in the order of importance to you.
This is what I wanted to talk about exactly. People are robbing themselves from good periods and good times, that is why there is nothing that should stop you if you want to live properly and if you can afford to do it, then just do it. I kept saying the same thing to everyone who wanted to learn more about money. If you are not making enough to get a savings then you should not cut your costs, you should increase your income.

Too many people have one jobs, and I understand, in any normal world 1 job should be enough, but if you are not making enough, then get a second one and that would be better, you can get most of what you want. I personally got a flexible job, I work more when I have the time, and work less when I don't, which allows me to make enough to put aside.
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 13, 2023, 09:25:53 AM
Most of the teams were of the same situation. The batting line-up is good enough to chase and make good runs, whereas the bowling line-up isn't capable of defending less scores. In this season of IPL big scores were easily chasen and very few matches were defended even when the score is low. Those matches turned based on the pitch condition. It is said that Gujarat Titans have got good bowling line-up, and it was only Rashid Khan who played upto the mark while Shami and Alzarri Joseph were really expensive. Depth overs were really expensive that Mumbai Indians scored 54 runs in the last three overs.
There is no doubt bowling quality is not as par standard for few teams in this season, but I am adding one point we also have mostly pitches are batting friendly which is also creating problems for the young guns, and they are not able to perform as expectation conditions are difficult and batting quality is surely much improved which are having big impact on big chases in this season.

Yesterday, GT lost few early wickets which give them defeat with Rashid Khan done amazing stuff in last few overs, but this was not enough for having win now they are still at the top of league table with most chances their spot is fixed for the play-offs, but they need to work on batting with MI are surely needed to work on their bowling if they want to end this season at high note.
1491  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN BULL MAY BE IN TROUBLE on: May 13, 2023, 07:44:53 AM
It made you happy when theprice touched 30k for a moment and then its just stays right there for awhile prolonging your happiness and made you confident to invest more. Now you wanted to get out as quick as possible.

I think we are still in a good market pattern though. Charts are telling we're still going uptrend in few weeks. Its just a matter of waiting.
But who wouldn't? All of us are happy about it because it's been a long time till we see that price again. To be exact, the price touch till $31k and stayed there for a few moment before it plunge down again. At least, those time frames are enough for us to sell some of our coins because we haven't done that as well.

Some likes to invest when the coins are rising which is different from us because we only invest on the dip but I think it was still fine because we are still far till we get back to the old ATH and maybe those uncommon investors will stop once we are close to it? Bitcoin bull run is not in trouble as the OP describes but the drop we experience are just normal, so there is no need to worry.
I think people who invest only when it rises, are people who sometimes do make profits and that's why they do it. I mean it is obvious that if you can, buy at the very bottom price and wait until the very peak. But, some people realized bottom takes too long and they could literally put it on a banks saving account and make more money while waiting. Then it is easier to start investing just as the bull starts, you make a bit less money that's true but you save like a year doing that, because it has been low for like a year.

But then if you miss the increase, that really hurts, like we had 50%+ profit from the bottom so far and that means if you waited too long then you missed that. You can still profit, but that's gone, however some people prefer missing that over waiting for over a year.
1492  Economy / Speculation / Re: High tx fee has historically marked the sell-off. Is this time different?? on: May 13, 2023, 06:53:39 AM
I'm tempted to say that the time is different with what happened in the past and now with the high fees and the number of bitcoin active enthusiast and the number of altcoins and stablecoins that can stand in the gap for bitcoin and hodl price above $20,000 but again I'm looking at another bitcoin season, the season of halving and the year preciding halving. Just thinking about what it is  Grin
The thing is, people ignore that it is at the very peak as well. I mean not only that it marks the sell-off and maybe it won't this time, that's another thing and very true, but on top of that we go higher and higher and higher before we peak and then we start with the sell off, but during that going higher part we see a huge increase. Check the tx fee and how it goes up, and check how the price goes up with it as well, and then check how it goes down, and then price goes down as well.

It means if we are going up right now, then it could also mean price will go up as well and then we are going to end up with something much better later on. I hope that it goes well, I am not sure if it will but I really hope that it does.
1493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 12, 2023, 08:45:39 PM
Najmul Hossain Shanto got out finally, for a well made 117 (Curtis Campher got the wicket). But thanks to Towhid Hridoy and Najmul Hossain Shanto, the required run rate is now less than 8 runs per over. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are at the crease now and they need to score the remaining 63 runs from 8 overs. This is a 45 over match, and therefore Irish bowlers can bowl a maximum of 9 overs each. Josh Little has 3 overs remaining, and Mark Adair has already bowled 7. That means that some of the out of form bowlers need to bowl the remaining 3 overs.
Cool Mushi hit four on third ball of the 45th over to have win in this match for his country what a match as Bangladesh were chasing 320 in 45 overs this was not looking easy but Shanto and Hridory done good job for the visitor and have big partnership which bring good change for their team to win this match and take lead in this 3 match series which is surely going to be helpful for them before World Cup because this experience is going to help them for having better performance.

After losing two early wickets we have all batsmen contributed for the win of their team in this match veteran Mushifiqur Rahim stand until end of this match and lead from the front, Irish bowling is really poor which needs some good work before qualifiers which are going to play in Zimbabwe if they want to have any chance for the world cup.
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 12, 2023, 08:05:49 PM
This obviously was a do or die for MI and they played really well as per that. SKY coming back in form is the best news for MI. I think now it's the biggest task for any team to take his wicket otherwise he has the ability to make MI invincible. They can make 220 in any match and chase equally big targets. Not to mention, they haven't even been using big hitters like Tim David and Chris Green properly. I think with SkY in form MI is a big contender for the trophy.
After too much debate regarding the form of Suryakumar Yadav, he is back in form with two consecutive match winning performance. Like all the seasons Mumbai Indians are back in form at the final stages and it is the same this season as well. The performance that surprised me in this match was Rashid Khan who smacked 10 sixes and if any of the top Gujrat batsman gave any support then it would have been a winning cause.
After having target like this 219 GT lost their early wickets quickly and have 5 for 55 which mean things were completely out of their way in this match but Rashid Khan done good effort for reducing losing target helps them for having narrow lost but still with this defeat they are at the top of the league table but good win for the MI as now they have strong case for the play-offs as currently they are at the third spot behind GT and CSK.

SKY is now having restore his performance which is good for the MI because after having bad start many were feeling hardly they have chance for the top four but now suddenly things change, and they are doing amazing in today match GT also done good performance, but their top order needs to be done better for keeping their current spot in league table.
1495  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Education in Financial Literacy on: May 12, 2023, 07:29:15 PM
Education is necessary but it doesn't mean that economic status of individual cannot be better without education because there are large number of jobs which don't need any graduation just abilities of work are preferred.

I have seen huge number of individuals who don't have any degree but they are economically successful but there are also large number of individuals who search jobs but they don't get any even they have gain very higher education and have degrees in their hands.

So it's sometimes a matter of fate because some people are financially stable without degrees and some are not even having degrees so just get education and then do your best what you can while leave the rest to be best for you.
But that is not the case, there are a lot more people who graduated college these days, that is how we were wired for a long time, decades even, because people who had degrees made a lot more money compared to people who didn't back in the day, so everyone who were a blue collar worker ended up thinking that the white collars made more than them and they should teach their children to get a degree, and white collars saw blue collars made less than them so they told their kids to get a degree as well.

Now that's not the case, blue collars may make more than some of the white collar ones unless it's an executive position, it's considered "dirtier" job but it pays a lot better because there are more graduates and less people willing to work for those "dirty" jobs.
1496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc price preeiction on: May 12, 2023, 04:20:10 PM
I forgot to look at the bitcoin price today and will probably get used to it when my level of focus on holding gets stronger. Of course it won't be a problem to monitor price movements if you plan something there like buying bitcoins at a certain price based on market analysis and opportunities. But monitoring prices continuously is only very likely to change your investment plan because the market sometimes panics too much in the face of FUD or negative issues.

The bitcoin price in May tended to decline rather than recover. I agree that this correction is due to FUD, but supposedly the price recovery trend that has been going on for the last 4 months could turn the market situation for the better in May or June and this $27k won't last much longer. Sideways are also very likely during May, but I expect big moves once bitcoin enters the second half of May.
I think it's not really that important to check the price every single day if you are a long term holder. Like for example I keep on messing up the situation all the time and I do not check it, why would I because I will hold it no matter what the price is anyway and there is no need for anything else. I get that people really want to see it grow higher and bigger but I do not have to do that at all, I just want to be left alone and not care about any of the price movements.

It could have been 25k when I woke up, or could be 30k, I would just hold anyway and there wouldn't be any changes in my life at all, that's the important part for me. I understand some people wanted to make it work differently but that doesn't mean they are right, just ignore it and keep holding.
1497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Market Reaches $27605 - Will the Downtrend Continue?" on: May 12, 2023, 08:15:10 AM
Don't forget that we're not out of the bear season yet, even if bitcoin crosses $30,000, so it shouldn't be surprising to see a correction or a major decline. Let's not be too subjective and believe that bitcoin will never plummet again, the bear season is not over yet, plus the economic situation is still tough, anything can happen.
If you already know the price drop is an opportunity to accumulate and buy more, then you should expect bitcoin to fall again and fall more, rather than expect what is happening is fake and bitcoin will rise again soon.
I think bear season is not something like that at all. I mean we are "out" of bear season as soon as it stops going down, if you think that just because we are under ATH that means we are in the bear season then you do not understand what bear means at all. There isn't just bull vs bear and nothing else in between, that's not how it works, we are not in the bull season neither that much is 100% true.

I think we are in a situation where we are going to end up with just stagnant stage at this point. Bear is when price goes down, that's how it works, so if it goes above 30k then it means it is not in the bear season, and since we moved from 16k to these prices, we are already not in the bear season, as long as the price doesn't drop, that means we are not in the bear season.
1498  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN BULL MAY BE IN TROUBLE on: May 12, 2023, 07:26:55 AM
Maybe it won't be a protracted problem as by now bitcoin transaction fees have dropped and are above $1 plus and maybe some investors will be quite relieved for those who trade daily for whatever purpose but I guess with the end of the hype at Brc20 ordinal it will ending soon so we will have more normal transactions again.

For the time being, of course, they are looking for alternatives as other transactions to avoid high spending, but this problem has been going on for several weeks so those who use a small sat/vB have to wait longer.
Not a problem with this bull market will definitely come when the time comes, and watch after the halving.
Well it is still around 10 bucks today last I checked, depends on where you use it of course there could be some lower and higher but that was around what it was. We peaked at 30 dollars at some point and that was definitely terrible so I am happy that it got lower and lower, but we need to keep lowering down a lot more. It's not at 1 dollar just yet but when we go back to that level, it is going to be great for sure without a doubt.

We also need to seriously discuss about lightning network or any other alternative, because even with segwit we are not reaching anywhere better by staying put. I get that we lowered it from legacy, but we need to do even better, staying at the same place would never end with anything good, we need constant progress.
1499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good governance is a key to crypto growth on: May 12, 2023, 06:20:30 AM
I thought that this is a good discussion about governance and its actual growth. But then, at mid of reading, there goes this uncommon project that you've mentioned and you even misspelled it. Anyway, if we're going to the actual topic of the role of good governance in the growth of crypto for that specific country or area. It really plays an important part in how that growth must be. Starting from the rules and regulations and its openness for adopting crypto payments and being not so strict with the rules they set especially for the taxation of crypto profits. A government that understands how crypto works is also a big deal.
This is the altcoin board, it's filled with people who shill their projects all the time and it is such a shame but I have stopped caring about what newbie accounts are saying because of this reason.

I mean exactly this is the main reason why this forum is getting worse everyday but also bigger at the same time, we are getting to become headquarters for people to shill their projects and since this website is high DA on google SEO as well, that means if you could write something and if possible then link it as well, that means you are going to get your project to be ranking higher on google, if nothing else from people who would be interested from here as well, even if everyone here is against it, just the SEO work is enough to spam this place for sure.
1500  Economy / Economics / Re: Interest Rate, Inflation, Debt vs Bitcoin in US on: May 11, 2023, 09:14:30 PM
As long as you are a human being domiciled in a certain part of the world, there is no way you can absolutely avert your fair share in the economic turbulence of the country. Do you think Bitcoin can totally save you? Then you are joking, Bitcoin like any other asset has the raining and the drought moments, just like any country or their currencies facing their own trying times.

My advice to everyone is to be smart and economical to know the time to own much Bitcoin to hedge against economic troubles and also the time to hold on to a dependable fiat when the drought time comes to Bitcoin.

No economic and investment conditions can be perfect, let's continue to catch the fun as we get more speculative and smart daily rather than being sentimental.
I think that's possible, not easy but "possible." Think about it this way, if you keep investing %10 of your salary into bitcoin for 10+ years, I think you will reach to a retirement profit no matter where you live. Unless that's Venezuela, Zimbabwe or Argentina level of poverty.

Most people living in the west for example could end up getting a good return on their investment and they could retire because bitcoin could go up enough during that period to make you rich. I know that it is not easy, there are very few people who would be able to do it, I am trying my best and even I fail, and that means we will not see plenty of people doing this, but that doesn't mean that it is not possible, I think it is totally possible.
