1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: process vs outcome on: February 14, 2020, 11:42:45 PM
I've seen a guy asking for advice about lotteries and it got me thinking. I don't understand why people even like lotteries. You don't do much, most likely lose and have to wait for the outcome for a long time. Perhaps, people are interested in the possibility of winning, but that would mean they are not really into gambling as the process. So what is it for you, do you play only for the sake of winning or do you care about the process of playing/researching/anticipating the outcome? I think that the process is that is attractive in gambling, and while the outcome surely matters, I would not like to wait for a long while to learn it.
It is not really a mystery why people love lotteries, you invest a small amount of money and the return on investment can be enough to change your life forever, as you have observed those people do not really enjoy the process of gambling they only want to get a positive outcome out of this unlike those that gamble a more engaging game in which you need to put your full attention like poker, in my case I prefer a more engaging game because all what I want out of gambling is to be entertained.

To add to this point, I believe that people play lotteries because its an easy way to gamble with a small amount of money and not have to do anything except pick a few numbers and hope to win big. The same thing is with slots, its an easy way to gamble on something that doesn't really require any skill or have to doing anything for a chance to win something. Its still all gambling but in a different form as you are still hoping to win something from the outcome of the lottery.
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing did you feel you must return the soonest to win back your losses? on: February 14, 2020, 11:37:52 PM
Of course most of us feel this way but that's when you must control yourself and not chase after losses. So many gamblers fall for this and try and make up losses but most times then not they end up losing a lot more and dig an even bigger hole then before. The best thing to do is walk away and take a break for a few days/weeks and even months after a bad loss or losing streak. Come back fresh and with a clear mind and put the loss behind you, try not to think about it too much, I know its hard but that's the way you can move forward. Not only with gambling but I also apply this to crypto as I could of sold at a certain time but didn't and lost but I move on as there are always more opportunities just like gambling to an extent.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 14, 2020, 11:32:40 PM
Raonic (2) was defeated Kwon. I was rooting for Raonic to win the match because I thought that he made a comeback after winning the second set in a tie break. But Kwon can't be denied, he fought back in the 3rd winning, 6-4.

Tomorrow will be interested as top seed J. Isner will be facing another good player in Johnson.

The first QF has been set up, Humbert (4) vs (6) Kecmanović.

Its looking like its going to be another year like last year in Men's tennis when it comes to these smaller tournaments as the top players don't really seem interested at playing at their best in these tournaments so I'm expecting to see a lot of upsets against the top players and lower ranked players win these tournaments just like we saw last year. That's why I never bet in these tournaments as the top players seem to lose more times then win against low ranked players.
1284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STREAMIT COIN - TWITCH & YOUTUBE STREAMERS PLATFORM on: February 14, 2020, 11:27:04 PM
This really is becoming a joke now as all this project cares about is for people to buy this coin and saying how good the roi is. Just look at all the team have been doing, they just care about listing on exchanges and sites for tracking earnings. Where is the actual developments of the platform? Why do the team only care about people buying this coin? These are major red flags in my opinion and still no one has replied to me about the fake trading to boost volume and the proof was also in that video that the Youtiber put out.
Hello, friend. Can I know how long have you been in the crypto business?
As we know 90% coins make fake volume.
Do you want to say, that 90% of coins=scam projects?
Did you watch this video on Youtube? That guy shows trading on Cryptobridge, as we know, this market was closed 2 month ago.
Streamit team develops project and keep stable price of coins and this is the most important for me and I think of other investors.
For us, stable income is important, not daily posts or reports on the work done by the team.
I hope you understand me very well.

I have been in crypto since January 2015 my friend and I can spot red flags in projects that only care about keeping a stable price by wash trading. Yes I know that a lot of projects wash trade which will soon catch up with them all. But as you can see here, where are the developments of the actual platform? why would someone invest in here just because the price is stable from wash trading when there is no actual value in the project or use case. This investment program is nothing but a way to suck more people into buying the coin expecting a return on their coins. Why not just develop the platform which is what this coin is all about?

Red flags that I have mentioned in here before and still no one from the team can come and answer the concerns with this project. If this was as good as you think it is, wouldn't you think this thread would be buzzing with people saying how good it is?
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💥SOLARIS PLATFORM [XLR] 💥100% PoS /w Cold-Staking 💥Txbit.io exchange! on: February 14, 2020, 11:20:38 PM
I have concerns about Solaris just being listed on txbit, I really do think that Solaris needs another exchange as having just one exchange doesn't really benefit the project. I'm surprised that CMC have Solaris still listed as I'm sure they require two exchange listings to be listed on their site so has the team thought about listing Solaris on another exchange? Unnamed exchange looks very good and the fee is cheap at around 0.06 btc and its KYC free for now.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 14, 2020, 11:15:58 PM
What a series and what a end of second twenty/20 match England won by just 2 runs as Curran done good job in last 3 balls even his first 3.5 overs cost him 43 runs but last three balls completely change all things for England Love this format and game between these quality teams now third and final match is going to be more excited.
It was a wonderful match and England was able to play the same game South Africa played against them in the first match. Curran bowled the last over and he was able to hold on to the total and even with two wickets in the last over they were able to win the match and with the win the series is leveled and the final game determines the champion.

I agree, these are the series us cricket fans like to see. Both teams playing close matches and the game coming right down to the last few balls. This is what makes T20 cricket enjoyable to watch when the games are close like the two games we have seen so far between these two teams. We are in for another great match to see which team wins the series. The upcoming series between SA and Australia will hopefully be the same as this series, close fought matches.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 14, 2020, 11:11:18 PM
I'm hoping that the test series between New Zealand and India is a lot closer then the T20 and ODI series as it was one sided in both series with each team winning the series easily. New Zealand now have the winning momentum and now they need to carry this on into the test series where they need to improve from the test series against Australia. Playing at home will help New Zealand but I think India will be too strong for them and will most likely win.

I have been in this project since the start and all I can say about this project is positive things. The team are quick to respond, quick to fix any problems with the platform and always looking to improve their platform. I have several coins staking on here and what I really like is that you can have coins in sell orders and still earn stakes. Also I really like the interest feature for BTC, LTC, DASH and Doge.

Thanks for sharing, I'm sure we could of all used this thread as it was started for all things NFL. Anyway it seems that everyone is using that thread so I'll come over there to post as no one is interested in this thread.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 12, 2020, 11:58:59 PM
Anyone watching the New York Open?

Steve Johnson beat  Sandgren 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(3). We all remember who Sandgren is, the guy that Federer beat from a come from behind win. They went into a tie break, but Johnson mostly controlled it. I guess that Sandgren was still feeling the pain on that Federer lost and probably seeing another ghost during his match against Johnson specially in the tie break.
Sandgren T is currently on his highes rank and his record is not bad at all as he was very good in Australian open but Federer's expereince thrash him this is still hurting him as he lost very badly even leading by 2 - 1 in first 3 sets and fourth set break his all temperment after losing on tie breaker now he can bounce back but take some time.

That is what I'm trying to say, he is really good, however, his defeat against Federer may have put a dent on his spirit and it was like a repeat again against Steve Johnson in this tournament. So it might take some time before he can overcome it mentally.

Jason Jung upset Anderson, the champion in 2018.  He will be facing Norrie, another tough match for him, Norrie beat wild card Brian Shi.

I agree, I think that when he was in control against Federer and then losing it has taken a lot out of him mentally. We see this all the time in sports and it can take time before he can recover and sometimes they never recover from this so it will be interesting to see how he goes in future tournaments this year.

We've seen some discussions happening around KYC withdrawal limits, and want to clarify that KYC will be mandatory for everyone for any actions on the exchange once it becomes mandatory.

Some have mentioned StakeCube exchange as an example, but we are struggling to see how their limits are within legal means in the EU. We also can't find where exactly they are located (Germany?), but no company registration information or licenses. Basically what we are saying is, be careful with such services. They could implement a mandatory KYC in an instant when the authorities come knowing on the door.

The regulations are in Estonia and Netherlands have far stricter limits, and any type of transaction (withdrawal, deposit, trade) is counted towards the limit. And the limit is only 1k Euro per Month, so it make very little sense to implement any kind of tiered system in this case.

Well I'm not sure how StakeCube are able to do this but they are as their lawyers have said that they can offer the 1,000 Euro limit to withdraw every 24 hours without KYC. I understand that we must be careful of this as it could be like CryptoBridge where they enforced KYC without warning. Thanks for letting the community know.

By the way I still believe that Solaris should be listed on more exchanges as just having txbit might be holding it back.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL match prediction discussions, trade talk, NFL news, draft talk on: February 10, 2020, 11:27:50 PM
Not sure why the other NFL was locked as I think that we can still discuss the draft and trades through out the off season.

The latest news is that Rivers won't be at the Chargers next season and that there are rumours going around that Brady could be going to the Chargers.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001101608/article/philip-rivers-will-be-free-agent-no-return-to-chargers

What do you guys think? Will Brady become a Charger next season?
1294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1$ every day in bitcoin over the last five years on: February 09, 2020, 12:06:26 AM
For the long term this is a very good idea as most of us expect Bitcoin to rise a lot higher then it is today. Another suggestion would be to also claim Bitcoin from faucets and stack up them sats no matter how much you can claim. People think its a waste of time however people were saying this years ago when BTC was $200 and you could claim a few hundred sats to over 1k sats per claim. Now that is worth a lot more so if you believe Bitcoin is going to 100k or 1 million then putting $1 a day into BTC and claiming from faucets can be well worth it in the long term. By the way you could also help boost your Bitcoin holdings by putting them into a trusted site where you can earn some interest on your Bitcoin. Remember that every little bit helps and adds up fast if you have the right mind set to stick with it and be patient.
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 08, 2020, 11:56:22 PM
Fun Fact:

[snip]
Now in next few months we will be able to have new faces in Mes Tennis as new generation is already on few players doing very good like Medvedev Zev Thiem and Tsitsipas they all capable of playing very good tennis for top 3 Federer is now going down as age factor is also going against him Nadal and Djokovic will be here for some more fun.

Those guys are really chasing the big 3 here like two years ago, yes they can win few masters tournaments, but in the grand slam, they really faltered that's why tennis is still in the hands of Djokovic, Nadal and Federer. As you can see age is not a factor for the big 3, of course they are aging, but they can play high level tennis when it matters, that is in the grand slam tournaments.

Like a few of us in here have been saying for the past couple of years now. The big 3 don't really play to the best of their ability in Masters tournaments and they use the lead up tournaments to get in peak fitness ready for the grand slams. That is why we see the younger players win more of the Masters and lead up tournaments then the big 3 and I think this trend will continue on for a few more years.

I think that 2020 will be a big year for this project as the team have been working hard on AceDBets platform which is a sports betting platform. From what I understand the platform is very close to being launched and I'm sure that it will be a top notch platform compared to most of the other crypto betting platforms out there.

There is a problem with the "leveling" system for now, I have personally tried to wager as much as I can (with all money I have but it was just around 0.0002) and I didn't moved a single bit up. I have been an user for over 5 years now so I am already pretty high up but whenever I gamble it no longer goes further up, I don't know if there is a leveling down but if there is one, by the looks of it I will be leveling down very soon because of it as well.

I hope they fix it or at least let us know what is required to level up but honestly all we know is buying tickets to lottery or gambling on dice should increase it and so far it hasn't increased mine at all, if we are required to do anything else or maybe it doesn't go up with each bet but only after a threshold, that could solve it.

There's no problem. I've levelled up 12 times now (so I earn a bonus of addition 12 times my claims) but yeah I gambled a looot here! Every time you do a freeroll the experience goes down too, so the more you collect without wagering, the lower it goes and you can also lose levels.

It's definitely not ideal since I'm sure for myself I've gambled a shitload here but hey this is the system!

Well the system is in place to keep people wagering if they want to stay in that particular level. I myself have found it very difficult to try and stay up in a level as I always claim the free sats. That is why now I try my luck betting on sports as with sports betting I have a better understanding of most of the games on offer to bet on so I have done well. Also there is sometimes a chance to do some arbitrage betting especially on the tennis.
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 08, 2020, 11:34:13 PM
sorry to interrupt the heavy discussion, but is anyone having a punt in-play on big bash final?

Big bash final was won by Sydney sixers by 19 runs. Batting first they scored 116 runs with 5 wickets down. Melbourne stars failed to chase that score and were all out in 97 runs. Josh was the match of the match as he made 52 runs in 29 bowls only and turned the match in the favor of Sydney sixers. Also to mentioned that the match was reduced to 12 overs each.

I'm glad that this final went ahead as it wasn't looking good with the bad weather Sydney was having. The Sydney sixers deserved this win even though I thought that they could of scored more runs but it was their bowling attack that won the sixers the game so all the credit goes to the bowlers and once again the stars lose another final. That's two BBL finals in a row they have lost and I just wonder when they will ever win a final as they seem to choke in finals.

i have a lot of mining / stakes last few days ?? whats wrong ? almost every 2 minutes i have stakes ...

thus i thought i am at the wrong chain .. so i restart the wallet but now it doesn sync  ... again

did i miss something ??

Sometimes you lose connection or windows will update and wallet will be on its own chain, symptoms will be: you get all the stakes or your wallet will not sync. Check the block count in your wallet and here on https://amsterdamblockchain.info/ they have to be the same. If your wallet is on another block count then the explorer, you have to load in the last bootstrap.
Kees has made a bootstrap two weeks ago:  https://amsterdamcoin.com/bootstrap.zip

Again thx for your help , that was the trick .. it toke a little longer than i expected, but its all synced and running like a charm ...

Now that you have your wallet synced, I suggest that you open it once a day to keep it updat to date ready for when we have to swap our AMS to the new code base. Even if you run a masternode its best to always open the wallet for it to sync. I do this once a day for AMS and all my other wallets as sometimes if they are left too long they might get stuck and can be a pain to fix sometimes.
