681  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PPT/Pirate Pass-Through OPs need our support now, more than ever on: August 30, 2012, 02:02:04 PM
What Pirate is asking for is illegal and immoral.  I only know of one PPT who is going to comply...
Which one?
682  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Closed on: August 30, 2012, 01:56:47 PM
I have started a thread where lenders that wish can give their information to pirate.

First part of the post from that thread:
It has become apparent that there is a divide between bitcoinmax lenders who wish payb.tc to pass along their information to pirate as requested, and those who do not.

I do not think that payb.tc should pass along anyones information who does not want it.  On the other hand I think that those of us who wish that the information be passed along should not be denied that right.

Given that I do not think there is a whole lot bad that can happen from pirate having this information I have created a form where you can enter the details that pirate requested and I will share the details with pirate only.

If you want pirate to have your information please go here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104690.0
683  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ATTN: BitcoinMAX lenders who wish to give information to pirate on: August 30, 2012, 01:52:44 PM
FAQ
There is no checking of any kind one can easily enter other forum user's name and his own withdrawal address.
True, there is no way I can check for accuracy as I do not have access to the bitcoinmax database

What is the point if the data is not verifiable?
It is simply meant to aggregate a list of lenders who wish to communicate to pirate directly and the size of those accounts.  Obviously pirate would never take this list and just payout what people put

That being said I think most people are honest and it will not be a problem.

I don't want to give you my account details!
That is fine, I can respect that.  However there is very little useful information to *me* on this list, but it is your information and your choice.

EDIT: I will share the details with pirate OR payb.tc.
685  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds! on: August 29, 2012, 10:19:30 PM
Tell you what, IF I get ALL of my BTC back from you know who then I will invest a little bit of it in Dank Bank.
So that is a no?
686  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds! on: August 29, 2012, 09:55:45 PM
Well, as people probably know, yesterday Pirate confirmed that he is in default in terms of repaying funds.  If that is simply a timing issue or a notice that there will be no repayments is not clear as no additional information was given and I'm still in the dark about what happens next from his side.
Given the lack of information from Pirate, I'd say the obvious play here is to invest the insurance fund in Dank Bank, and then buy everyone a mansion next year.

Why hasn't anybody set up a Dank Bank Pass Through security on the GLBSE yet? Now that there is no Pirate, the 3% dank is offering seems pretty good !!! Maybe you could just reuse the PPTs as DBPTs?
Would *you* invest in Dank?
687  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Closing down on: August 29, 2012, 08:13:39 PM
… for what nefarious purpose could pirate want lenders names for?

I don't know, but here are a few guesses, some of which had been mentioned here already.

  • He wants to protect his pass-through helpers by taking the business relationship and the debt upon himself before his bankruptcy is obvious to everybody. This is quite unlikely behavior for a criminal, but perhaps he wants to keep his helpers for another coup.
  • He wants to send individual messages to the people whose money he stole, for the purpose of confusing and delaying.
  • He wants to use the addresses to pull people into his next coup, perhaps a Ponzi scheme with a lower interest rate than 3,300% per year.

Any more ideas?

I usually do not agree with team ponzi, but assuming pirate is a scammer, then all of those actually make sense.
688  Economy / Gambling / Re: Accepting Pirate bets on: August 29, 2012, 08:11:10 PM
I am just as confused about this bet as Matthews... what's the catch? on the surface it looks like free money... ?
If it is too good to be true...

Dude, i dont see Yochdog in your sig..    what were the terms of the contract?  O, there was a contract right?  Wink

I had to switch up my 'hearting' once thebaron gave me this:

http://blockchain.info/ip-address/108.89.10.213

(known Trendon Shavers/pirateat40 IP address, pulled from IRC Logs by thebaron)

My Pirate deposit address (bitlane's) is found 7 times on the first page as an INPUT.

Feel free to follow some of the outputs to GPUMAX miner payouts.......

I would actually like to see dooglus or someone of that stature do some analysis on this.

for 75 btc a day you can get a mid-high end hooker and and 8ball of coke each night, I like the way you "investigate"  Wink

The hooker might be fun, but it won't get some poor sap's 5k BTC back from pirate. It might make him not care for a while, but it won't recover it.
* ErebusBat noticed you didn't mention the blow....

He is, I'm just very surprised he hasn't said that it's awesome yet.

I wonder what is holding him back from fully endorsing it? any thoughts?

Maybe his coins are currently 'tied up'

what was bitcoin max?
<facepalm>

You have been posting in all the pirate threads and you don't even know what bitcoinmax was?
694  Other / Off-topic / Re: ITS A DUCK! (and other pirate memes). 1 BTC per day contest - 14 BTC total on: August 29, 2012, 06:25:43 PM

Awesome... and so true.
695  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Information obtained about Pirate by calling previous employer on: August 29, 2012, 06:23:38 PM

Interesting.... if he is renting that does not fit with the hot water heater story...

I don't know the full story but I've had hot water heaters/tanks in apartments before. Multi-family homes are also likely to have them.
This is true....  he just said the floors were ruined but never said *he* was having to pay.
696  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Information obtained about Pirate by calling previous employer on: August 29, 2012, 03:41:27 PM
Has anyone called the other place of work in texas. The real estate one?

I dont have those details on me.

Stonebridge is the company him and his wife are renting an apartment from. Unless there was some info leading one to belive he worked there that I missed..??

Interesting.... if he is renting that does not fit with the hot water heater story...

Payments will be processed directly by Bitcoin Savings & Trust to Pirate Pass-Thru sub-accounts upon verification and cleared of any outstanding conditions.
<pirateat40> Payments will be processed directly by Bitcoin Savings & Trust to Pirate Pass-Thru sub-accounts upon verification and cleared of any outstanding conditions.Payments will be processed directly by Bitcoin Savings & Trust to Pirate Pass-Thru sub-accounts upon verification and cleared of any outstanding conditions.
<pirateat40> Principal and interest payments are subject to review.
<pirateat40> No timeline or further information is available at this time.
<patrickharnett> would you like emailed lists?
<patrickharnett> you said pm's were a pain
<Chaang-Noi> we never got the sub accounts set up, i dont understand
<pirateat40> Emailed to me@pirateat40.com encrypted with your private key if available.
<copumpkin> your public key, you mean
<pirateat40> Chaang-Noi, bonds are going to be tricky.
<hashking> Why is it being done this way.
<[\\\]> pirateat40: balances as of when?
<gigavps> Chaang-Noi ask nefario to lock the bond and give you a list of holders

<copumpkin> we need your public key to encrypt
<Chaang-Noi> can you please explain why this needs to be done this way?
<pirateat40> [\\\], current balances
<[\\\]> copumpkin: gpg info pirateat40
<Chaang-Noi> gigavps nefario wont do that, that is public knowledge
<reeses> copumpkin: look for the one I signed
<hashking> Not sure how to use that.
<[\\\]> pirateat40: well, does that include last monday's interest?
<hashking> I have to many small accounts to try and put this together.
<pirateat40> Chaang-Noi, it's a legal thing.  That's really all I can say.
<Chaang-Noi> matthew will lose his bet then
<Chaang-Noi> there is no way you will every pay us
<hashking> It would take me forever to compile my list.
<pirateat40> [\\\], the balance should include the total balance up to today at 8:30 PM CST
<[\\\]> ok
<Chaang-Noi> pirateat40 you know you are asking me to do something i cant.
<hashking> When is the deadline to send this to you.
<pirateat40> Chaang-Noi, I know it's not something you can do with bonds and have relayed that information but I don't have an answer for you yet.
<patrickharnett> I can have mine compiled quite quickly as the bonds can simply be repurchased and I only have three sub accounts - when would payment be?
<[\\\]> I have mine ready already
<[\\\]> its a google doc
<pirateat40> hashking, Friday by midnight.
<pirateat40> [\\\] perfect
<gigavps> pirateat40 what are the next steps beyond this?
<hashking> I can't have it done by then.
<[\\\]> seriously, a basic timeline
<[\\\]> we've been very patient, you need to give us a little something.
<pirateat40> gigavps, I don't have a timeline other than Friday at midnight at this point.
<hashking> What are you intentions.  What if I can't get you the information by friday.
<Chaang-Noi> im going to have to run this stuff by my lawyer.
<Chaang-Noi> this seems off...
<hashking> For once I will agree with goat
<reeses> it's pretty standard for a default
<hashking> So then there will be no payment.
<reeses> assets have to be divided fairly
<Chaang-Noi> pirate, do you have any assets to be divided?
<patrickharnett> a list of creditors yes, but the passing on of additional information is unusual
<[\\\]> gigavps, we're over here, wrong channel
<gigavps> oops
<gigavps> pirateat40 can you please explain how you are using the term default?
<gigavps> pirateat40 is there a liquidation preference or priority?
<pirateat40> No timeline or further information is available at this time.
<Chaang-Noi> pirate, can you make your lawyers phone number public? i want to have somethings confirmed.
<reeses> that might be the smart move, because you can say things now that fuck you into piercing your corp. shield
<pirateat40> Chaang-Noi, those details will be available on Friday and all communication will be by certified mail.
<Chaang-Noi> good
<[\\\]> awesome, we're being served.
<hashking> served for what.
<copumpkin> we can get served by pirateat40 and by the lynch mob Smiley
<reeses> dibs on the m5
<Chaang-Noi> i wonder if pirateat40 is working with the feds...
<hashking> imsa need you in btcfgpa.
<Chaang-Noi> i would like to talk with your lawyer before anything else happens.
<hashking> I think that is fair.
<Chaang-Noi> you have all the information you need to know
<Chaang-Noi> if you need more info you need to tell us why
<hashking> I will need a lawyers number also before I give out any information as you are the one that has messed this up.
<pirateat40> Thanks guys, have a good night.
<Chaang-Noi> giving us 48 hours to make a list or not get btc is fail...
* pirateat40 sets mode +m #btcst-trust
<Chaang-Noi> .
* #btcst-trust :Cannot send to channel

Maybe pirate just wants the subaccounts to receive their payout at the exact same time as everyone else so that if there is a massive sell-off of BTC they don't miss out on the opportunity to sell.

Right...because he's ALL ABOUT timing and caring about his Investors, once he has what he wants....
I am not agreeing with Mel, but for what nefarious purpose could pirate want lenders names for?

Unless it is to make sure you are the very last to be paid back?
