601  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitZino - HTML5 Bitcoin Casino - Provably Fair - Now featuring Roulette! on: September 01, 2012, 12:04:49 AM
It is ErebusBat, I just never setup an account before because BJ isn't my game.   Account setup and deposit made... look for 'donations' this weekend Wink

Welcome to the site! I sent you a quarter BTC to thank you for all the feedback you've been providing Smiley
Received thanks!  I will give it back shortly Wink
602  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Freenode channel ##btcst-open available for _ALL_ discussion.... on: August 31, 2012, 11:56:14 PM
CORRECTION: theymos alluded to the collection of IP addresses...not Maged, as I stated above. My appologies.
Either way... I have never attempted to hide my identity, not that I want it posted all over the forums.

It would be interesting to see what Bruno came up with though Wink
603  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Freenode channel ##btcst-open available for _ALL_ discussion.... on: August 31, 2012, 11:31:32 PM
As someone who has been in #btcst since before it was announced I can tell you why people are being banned, and it is not because of disent.

Excessive trolling
Attacks on pirate (constantly asking how the ponzi is goin)
That is about it.

In general if you are being an annoying prick you will probably get the banhammer

Well, that explains alot.......

Hey, aren't YOU the guy that wants to hand over everyone's BTCST Data over to Pirate ?

Do you honestly want me to ask the Admin(s) to cross-check your IP against Trendon's known IPs.....
(all of which, Maged has already said he HAS a collection of, as Trendon never used TOR)

Not everyone's just bitcoinmax lenders who opt-in.  And yes that is me.

And you can cross check my IP if need be, I have only logged on from a handfull and they are all in the same region.
604  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitZino - HTML5 Bitcoin Casino - Provably Fair - Now featuring Roulette! on: August 31, 2012, 11:17:09 PM
I think those are very good points.  Non-geeks have no idea, and it really doesn't matter, about JSON or SHA256 specifics.

I know a very scientific method to determine if softwareseller is a cop. Answer this question softwareseller: Do you have a mustache?
No. What's that suppose to mean?
Guys, he checks out. Not a cop.
Wait......

What about doughnuts?
607  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Building Armory on OSX on: August 31, 2012, 10:33:07 PM
So I made this super simple for people.  I'm sure etotheipi will eventually do this himself, but if you want Armory up and running fast and right now.

Code:
brew tap WyseNynja/bitcoin
brew install wysenynja/bitcoin/bitcoind
brew install --HEAD wysenynja/bitcoin/armory-qt

You don't need to install bitcoind, but I like to. I might eventually add a startup service for bitcoind.
Just tried to get an updated version of bitcoind from your forumula and got this error:
Code:
$ brew install bitcoind
Error: No available formula for berkeley-db4 (dependency of bitcoind)

Did you do a keg for that from somewhere?
608  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] bitaddress.org printing of existing backups on: August 31, 2012, 10:24:55 PM
Can you point it to a wallet.dat file and have it print all the private keys from it?
No, because it is just a webpage... however I can probably add the bitcoind JSON response to it pretty easy.

Hrm... looks like my version of bitcoind doesn't have the dumpwallet command in it... I will need to look at my linux machine.
609  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Putting your money where Pirate's mouth is. on: August 31, 2012, 10:20:14 PM
Have you noticed that nanotube hasn't been very active on the forums lately?  It makes you stop and think..

That's OK. I am sure he has a great OTC Rating from people like Pirate, that trust him.

I was trolling.  Nanotube rises to the level of dev trust.  If you don't trust Nanotube, you might as well not trust Gavin, gmaxwell, etc

Or the OTC ratings for that mattter.
610  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] bitaddress.org printing of existing backups on: August 31, 2012, 10:06:14 PM
Added VanityGen format as an available (and very generic format) that will print as well.  This should provide a way to create paper backups for most any existing address lists.
611  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 31, 2012, 07:34:47 PM
Cross posting this here as there may be some interest:

I made a fork/addition to bitaddress.org that allows easy printing of blockchain.info wallet exports.  If this is interesting/useful to you then you can read more here:

The main difference between this and the one that bci provides is that mine generates the QR codes in SIPA/WIF format so they can be imported into a wider range of products (namely armory).

EDIT: I have updated the script to be a generic Export (to QR) option.  It supports the original BCI wallet export as well as vanity gen output now.
614  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN] bitaddress.org printing of existing backups on: August 31, 2012, 07:30:39 PM
Whilst getting all my ducks in a row with wallet backups I could not find an easy way to backup WIF/SIPA keys with QR codes. Blockchain.info provides a paper backup, but they are not WIF and therefore will not import into armory (and I am assuming other apps).

My workflow, to give others an idea of how to use this:
  • Create a paper wallet backup in armory, this is my deterministic armory wallet
  • Create/maintain a blockchain.info wallet with keys that are imported into my armory wallet
  • Export the bci wallet unencrypted in Sipa Wallet Format JSON
  • Paste that JSON into my new External Backup option
  • Huh
  • Profit!?

You can access the code from my GitHub repository.   Be aware that this will not currently work offline as it loads the CoffeeScript runtime.  If there is sufficient need/interest I can change this.

615  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pirate wants to settle with individuals for less. Don't let him do it. on: August 31, 2012, 06:41:07 PM
I don't think PPT operators are even considering such a thing. What we're seeing though is outright -blockage- of client information. Chaang Noi is refusing to allow his own clients to contact Pirate even if they -want- to.

Proof?  Also how exactly would Goat BLOCK other people from contacting Pirate even if Goat wanted to.  Does he have complete control over the internet and all other methods of communication?

Yes, yes I do!  Cool
The truth comes out... Goat is..... AL GORE!

(Damnit Bruno... where were you on that one?)
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So long and thanks for all the fish. on: August 31, 2012, 06:34:26 PM
Since the decoded message stems from that Hitchhiker book(s), shouldn't we be searching this forum to see who has referenced other aspects of Douglas Adams' novel(s)?

~Bruno~

Who, in a geek forum, has mentioned douglas adams?  That is gonna be a big list.
617  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds! on: August 31, 2012, 06:31:49 PM
good idea.

Can someone explain this massive jump in the daily "Total Output Volume"
http://blockchain.info/charts/output-volume

I asked in the pirate address thread and was told it was irrelevant.
618  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoingate on: August 31, 2012, 06:31:03 PM
Here's an interesting guy I just stumbled upon on Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeffcliff1/followers

Check out who he follows. Here's one of interest: https://twitter.com/onetoughpirate (located in Madison, Wisconsin)

~Bruno~

I hear there are a bunch of pirates who put on a show in vegas... was p@40 just there?  coincidence?

What about the pirates in Somalia...  I don't think they would extradite.
619  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PPT/Pirate Pass-Through OPs need our support now, more than ever on: August 31, 2012, 03:22:57 PM
I can't believe people are actually upset about this.

People are mainly upset at themselves, for obvious reasons. However, it's hard to admit that, even to yourself, and much easier to just shout at others.
The only ones I see throwing a fit are bitlane and teamponzi.  Did I miss YAPT?  (Yet Another Pirate THread)
620  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Putting your money where Pirate's mouth is. on: August 31, 2012, 03:18:45 PM
What will be interesting now is what he does with what he believes to be profits from an illegal venture.
Keep them, presumably? After all, he risked - or at least tied up - a substantial chunk of his own money in order to convince others that yes, he genuinely did believe that BTCS&T was a ponzi scheme in the face of cries of "troll!" and "put your money where your mouth is or shut up!" from Pirate supporters. I think that more than pays off any ethical obligations he might have.

First off:  As someone who has an investment in BTCS&T let me say that I personally have no problem with him keeping the bet.

HOWEVER some of team ponzi (namely JoelKatz) have gone on about receipt of stolen money.  So I was just wondering if they were going to play by their own rules.
