1262  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bad news for bASIC - not shipping til mid Jan at best on: December 06, 2012, 08:00:20 AM
Joyous moments for some here, again, BFL ain't shipping a thing till somewhere in January, as it seems now.
Surprise?

Quote
As Debbie from BFL wrote in her last Mail:
We had originally hoped to be shipping by now, but unfortunately, we are still waiting for some parts to come in. We are working to start shipping orders before the end of the year.

You could anticipate your order shipping sometime in February or March. If they are ready sooner, we will ship them sooner.
We appreciate your patience as we are working to bring you the latest in mining technology.

Happy X-mas 😢

Certainly, the order number is not mentioned. But the January date does not sound incorrect at all.

Called it.

 Cool

We plan to begin shipping at the end of this month and in January. If we don't hear from you, we will assume that you want your original order to stand as originally submitted.

Thank you,
Debbie

I received this email earlier yesterday regarding an upgrade to a Little Single I haven't paid for yet. The reason why I haven't done it yet is because I'm so freaking confused from all of their dates they keep releasing about when they will actually ship. I think someone is full of shit if you ask me. Just sayin

I can't possibly understand why you would be confused.  Isn't it as clear as glass to you?

They'll either be shipped in/on October, November, December 11th, end of December, January, February, or March lol

1264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So, teh ruleze sais I need post here... on: December 05, 2012, 06:52:40 PM
So your first post consisted of a drunken, trolling, misspelled rant, using the derogatory term retarded.

I can't wait to see what valuable insight you add to these forums.   Tongue
1265  Other / Off-topic / Re: You are jesus on: December 05, 2012, 06:42:59 PM
So you are going to use the insanity defense when you default on your "loans" ?

For the breach of contract claims, if he's under 18, he could always use the infancy/minority defense.  If he's over 18 he could try lack of capacity to contract.   Cheesy

Although I make fun, I do tend to like Dank.  Seems a very mellow dude.

1266  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best place to sell bitcoins? on: December 05, 2012, 07:17:52 AM
I know this has been asked hundreds of times but all the threads seem to be old and not be relevant anymore. Me and some friends are going to pool our money together and get one of these https://www.btcfpga.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=59

I want to use paypal for receiving payments and am unfarmiliar with any other services but I read around sometimes people are able to say they didnt authorize it then take your bitcoins and not pay you. I want something preferable well trusted (speaking of trust is btcfpga legit?) and not likely to scam me.

Instead of selling your bitcoins, you could pay btcfpga with bitcoins.  If you don't have enough bitcoins, buy some more with your friends' money.

BTCFPGA is where I have preordered from, so obviously I think they are legit.

In my line of work, I have seen first hand that the local police department has a username/password login for the local electric company's system.  When this was demonstrated for me, I saw that it allows the police to see how much electricity is being used by each customer.

1270  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Loan for ASICs on: December 05, 2012, 01:34:57 AM

So clearly you are a crook

Quite clearly I am a crook.  As everyone I have done business with on here can attest to Smiley  There are many things I could do using your logic.  I could use the money to buy a spaceship instead of purchasing an ASIC.  But that is what a contract is for.  If I breach the contract, I can be sued.  If the lender breaches the contract with me, I can sue him.  Otherwise, please post all relevant evidence that you have, that proves I AM a crook, as you stated.  You did not state that I have the potential to be a crook.  You stated I AM a crook.  We all look forward to your well thought out, rational post.  Also, I'll link you to my article on liability for online (and offline) defamation:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=109363.msg1190739#msg1190739

Anyway, back on topic, I am still taking additional loans for this proposal.  Many thanks to those that have expressed interest, and also have taken me up on my offer.  I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with each of you.

Once again, this is a much safer alternative to the "mining bonds" that numerous people offer, in which it has been pointed out above, that you never recover your initial principal investment.

With all the experts around here at tracking people's real identities down, I find it interesting no one ever found out who he is or what happened to him.

If someone knew who he was, do you think they would go around telling everybody?

Why not?

Only a very non-empathic person would do that like say a lawyer or something. The guy stopped appearing under his alias for a reason. I've outlined the very probably reasons above.

No, I'm not an empath.  You're correct about that.  I am quite empathetic however.  My interest is that maybe he didn't voluntarily choose to disappear, as there is (to my knowledge) no indication that he did.  Perhaps he died is basically what I'm getting at.

I really didn't mean to come across as callous.  If he chose to disappear, then obviously his privacy and wish should be respected.
He did choose to disappear.  I believe he worked with theymos on achieving it.  The only one here who I know of who might know his true identity is theymos...  but I wasn't around while he was here either, only a few months after the fact.

Ah, clearly I was ignorant to that fact when I made my original post "Why not?"  In that case, obviously no one should reveal his identity.  Thanks for letting me know.

I'm a big fan of any type of alternative dispute resolution services.  Glad to see you trying this out.

He didn't respond to my post:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=127626.msg1375298#msg1375298

Where I asked him since money wasn't going to exist on December 21st, if on December 21st he would send me all that he had.

1279  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2 year old - Cries himself to sleep every other night on: December 04, 2012, 03:09:39 AM
Have you thought about asking him why he doesn't want to go to bed?

he's not really talking yet, possible hearing problem... going to get that checked soon.
But i know why he doesn't want to go to sleep
he wants to play, watch tv and run around.

Yep get the hearing checked immediately.  Some kids don't talk until later.  Not a huge deal.  But get the hearing checked, just to be sure.
1280  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2 year old - Cries himself to sleep every other night on: December 04, 2012, 03:08:53 AM
He's 2, it's not like he's got to go to work in the morning, just let him play until he's tired.

Probably your best option.  Just let him play or cry himself out.  I've found telling them, "you don't have to go to sleep but you have to stay in your room" helps.  They'll go to sleep when they get tired.  Fighting with them is pointless.  You'll always lose.
