I PM'ed him but never heard back, I'll give it another shot. Thanks,

Hey looks great.  I'll take it for 6BTC shipped.  Care if we hold the bitcoins in escrow until the card is received?  I don't know anyone that does this, but I know there are several trusted people here on the site that does.
1502  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] 5830 on: October 17, 2012, 09:49:58 PM
Still looking for a 5830.

Where are you located? If you are U.S. domestic I can do 6.5btc shipped for a Sapphire 5830 Extreme,
comes with full retail packaging and original accessories.

LMK.

I won't be home until late tonight, to do any transferring.  Would you be cool if we got someone to hold the bitcoins in escrow until I received it?

I assume it's in good working order?

How can that wobble possibly be detected?

Its like detecting a 1mm wobble from 49 billion miles away.

Those are ridiculous numbers.

This stuff fascinates me, but I'm nowhere near smart enough to be able to grasp some of it.

Nolo Contendere - Latin phrase that is roughly translated to "no contest".  It's a third type of plea you can enter in a criminal case, besides guilty or not guilty (if you have permission from the DA and the court).

What about in Bird Law? Also: plead or pleaded?

/hijack

plead v. pleaded:  It's one of those things where there is one that is correct and there is one that is commonly used.  If I'm writing in a brief, or something along those lines, I'll use the word pleaded, which is actually the correct usage.  Plead (past tense, pronounced pled) is technically wrong, but it's what most people say.  Orally, I'll probably end up saying plead just out of habit, and no one would ever correct me over that (I would hope not, anyway).

All I'm saying about bird law, is that bird law is not governed by reason.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvSx7-CTTl4

I like to gamble as well. My favorite gambling game is kicking benches. Smiley

I've lost so much on those benches lol

8's a fair price for a 5870, I just don't have it right now.  Plus I'm using these to mine LTC and the hashrate between the two just isn't significant enough to justify the extra bitcoin.

7 BTC? I need to sell this as my last power bill was rather high.

Did you sell it to MrTeal?  If not let me know.  I'm still in the market for a card, and I could prob do 7 shipped for the 5870.

I doubt it.  Nobody loses 25 times in a row on a 91% chance bet.  The odds against it happening are massive.
That's exactly what someone trying martingale strategy would say, it might be what actually happened here.

I watched black hit 16 times in a row on roulette.  I said, "Well just f me in the a!"   Cheesy

Rare?  Sure.  Chances are something like (ignoring 0 green) 0.001525%.  But does it happen?  Yep.  .001525% is not 0%.

There's a difference between 16 50% chance events happening and 25 9% chance events happening.  .001525% is not 0%, but 0.0000000000000000000000001472% is pretty much 0% - and that's the percentage chance of losing 25 "lessthan 60000" bets in a row.  ie. it didn't happen.

Code:
>>> "%.28f" % ((1 - 60000/65536.0)**25 * 100)
'0.0000000000000000000000001472'

Well no...OP didn't understand the math and was obviously exaggerating.  Even the lowest on the IQ totem pole would have surely quit after that 24th loss lol

I should add I'm in Europe. This may take up to a week to get to the US.

I hope that's ok.

Looking to buy a 5830 in good shape.  I'm thinking 6BTC shipped (I'm in the U.S.), as I just bought one on ebay for $71 shipped.

You could bid 3.8 BTC ( + 2.2 BTC postage ) on this and get a 5870 instead:
https://www.bitmit.net/en/trade/i/7725-hd5870-gpu

Is that yours?

Yes. It seems prices on bitmit are a lot lower than the prices people are asking for on this board.

If you could end it early and would take 6 I'd certainly buy it from you.  Don't want to bid and have 6BTC tied up in it for another 6 days.  Looking to move kind of quick.

Suggestion:  Not a big deal, but it would be nice if there was a "Total" column under all of your workers that showed your total hashrate.  Right now I have to add it up manually to see what my total rate is.  Same for an "estimated coin per day" column in that same row.  If you aren't in the top on the front page, I don't know of any way you can see this.

Thanks, great pool!  Very happy with it.

Yes, I thought about "estimated coin per day". I will probably add another column just after "Total rewards".
Regarding first suggestion, it will not be so easy. Coinotron is multicoin pool and unfortunately I cannot sum up hashrates of LTC worker and BTC worker. So it would be rather subtotal for workers of given coin. I will think about it.

Thanks for your sugestions Smiley

You're exactly right, I didn't consider the multicoin aspect.

A woman has twins, and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named 'Amal.' The other goes to a family in Spain, they name him Juan'. Years later; Juan sends a picture of himself to his mom. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wished she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responds, ''But they are twins. If you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal.''

EDIT:  Have all I need now. Thread closed. Thanks.

I guess im that unlucky guy that loses 25 times in a row on a 91% chance to win game the day after winning large sums in the same game.
