Well, this has taken up enough of our day.  Thank you all for your help and support - I think though that I have to accept my loss and move on.  I firmly believe that karma will find its way to him one day.  He's quite a piece of (crappy) work.

You're a better man than I.  I like to hold a grudge  Wink

Are you remotely close to NC?  File a police report for theft.  Give the police all of his information that you have.  Then go to small claims court (not what they call it in NC), and file suit for breach of contract and conversion.  You know his name and address.  Have the sheriff serve him.  He'll have 30 days to respond.  If he doesn't, you win by default.  Execute on him and recover your money.

Now is this a pain in the ass?  Yes.

Is this going to cost money?  Yes, but you can do all of this yourself without an attorney.  Your costs will be travel expenses plus court costs.

But that's your only legal recourse at this point if you can't talk him into just paying you back.

Before mining TRC I was mining LTC at coinotron.  I also have nothing but the best of things to say about the site and the guy that runs it.  Never had any problem.  Even asked for a feature and it was implemented.

Did you switch from ltc to mine trc without any change to your miner software or settings on that?

I've been using cgminer for both LTC & TRC.  Basically to switch from LTC to TRC all I did was modify my config file to take out the -scrypt command and I find the default settings work best for TRC.  So it's a very plain config file.  All I modify is the intensity.

Too lazy to even create a sock puppet to scam with.  His last post prior to this one, was in the thread he got busted for scamming on.  He's not even a very good scammer.  I believe the appropriate internet acronym for this situation is go DIAF OP.

They cannot inject money as you say.
They don't own their own money.

Yeah, that's the worst part of it. I really think some Euro countries needs to step forward and inject money in the Greek system. The boat is leaking, they're all in the same economy, they have to patch, even at loss. They're going to implode the whole euro zone simply because they don't want to "lose" money with Greece.

What a bunch of garbage this post is.  Roll Eyes I'm not even going to attempt to point out all the sophistry and idiocy in it.

If you're going to insult people instead of debating, get lost. You're not interesting.

Here is what a economist and nobel prize winner is thinking about all that:
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/10/17/stiglitz-greece-and-spain-are-in-depression/

I'll back you up and say I agree completely with your austerity post.  It's a horrible idea.  That's the problem that I have with what happened in the 2000s in the U.S.  After the country was showing a surplus, and unemployment was so low, and the economy was booming in the late 90s, that's when the spending should have been cut, and taxes on the wealthy raised.  Instead we accelerated the increase in debt by massively increasing spending and massively cutting taxes on the wealthy.  Then the complete lack of financial regulation led to the collapse of the worldwide financial industry and the housing debacle we find ourselves digging out of now.

So basically what happened was we kept spending and low taxes when things were going great, and when they collapsed we had magnified the debt so badly that there wasn't the ability (or will) to massively spend by the government to end the recession (depression?) quickly.

XFX emailed me yesterday and told me they would make it right.  Not sure what that means exactly, but they said they made a mistake and should have atleast sent me a 6850.  I currently have another 5830 in with them for repair/replacement so I guess when they're done with that one, they'll let me know what they're doing.

you dont need X-fire [in fact you dont want to use it]

I'd agree that you don't need it.  I get no difference in hash rate using it or not using it.  But I'm using Windows 8 x64.  I've heard that it really doesn't matter for Windows users whether you use crossfire or not, but with Linux you definitely want it disabled.

Nobody is trading lol

I'd say that's mostly due to the lack of a secure site, and the fact that it seems everyone wants to buy and no one wants to sell yet.

So far (except for a pizza lol) there aren't any sellers.   Grin

No escrow MR moderator.

He's just going to ban you for being an idiot.....

You know, in the law there are all kinds of situations that raise presumptions.  Some are conclusive presumptions, some are rebuttable presumptions.

I would say that an outright refusal to use escrow (since it is such an easy process, so cheap, and so low risk) raises a presumption of the seller being a scammer.

Now I'm not saying Trader Joe is a scammer.  It seems that he actually has atleast one member willing to vouch for a successful trade with him.

But I think it would be a disservice to the entire community not to publicly condemn this type of action.  The reason primarily being, it is one of the few ways to safely trade alt currency for goods online.

Also by calling out Trader Joe, it also reinforces to people new to bitcoins that it can be quite safe if you use your head and escrow.

Difficulty just hit 4383.9  Shocked  Highest I've seen by far.

wow

Over the past couple of days LTC has really lost value to the BTC.  I wonder if some big LTC miners moved over to TRC.

Yes, i would rather have fun than get stressed.

Not really. I just wanted to sell these cards. I got singles and 7990. I dont need these any more.

Just curious, as I don't have a dog in the hunt one way or the other.  Why are you opposed to escrow?  Is there some negative to it, I can't think of?  Educate me.  (and I'm not looking for the 6 year old little boy answer of "Because I don't want to!"  I get that enough from my son as it is  Cheesy )
