1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTT] PPC for TRC on: November 10, 2012, 05:18:03 PM
I'll trade 3000 PPC for 2500 TRC. :-)

How about 2500 TRC for 3000 PPC?

I don't have any PPC, but I'll get some for that price! lol  Grin

They should give you something better, not slower. Like i RMA'd recently 74GB raptor, and got back 150GB raptor. That is good RMA practice.

I'm still waiting on a response from them.  Will probably be Monday I guess.
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTT] PPC for TRC on: November 10, 2012, 04:34:25 PM
I'm just thinking these have an opportunity to be rather valuable.  They are tougher to mine from other coins when they first launched, there wasn't a premine period, and the reward is less than others.

I'm going to have to start checking out the newbie board more often if these are the kinds of posts you can find here  Grin

Anyone in the US have these?  I'm trying to find someone close...need them fairly soon.

I'm still looking for (3) 1x -> 16x

PM me Smiley

Coins sent, tracking info received.  I'll let you know when they get here.  Thanks Bigal!

I had to rma a 5830 to XFX and I received a 6850.
how could I look if it is still under warranty and is it able to RMA if the fan ist broken?
TIA

I just created a support ticket on their website, and asked based on the serial number of the card.  They just immediately responded with an RMA number and told me to send it in.
1409  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: I RMA'd a 5830 and got back a 6790 on: November 09, 2012, 04:50:25 PM
I would get on them about it. Talk to a supervisor..... Say it performs like shit on the games you play.

Not sure why they would downgrade your card like that...

I just tried calling them.  They don't open for 10 more minutes.  Is that my strongest argument, that it is a low tier card and it doesn't perform on games the same way my 5830 did?
1410  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: I RMA'd a 5830 and got back a 6790 on: November 09, 2012, 04:44:18 PM
I wouldn't be happy with that at all.......

And I'm not.  I'm going to call them.  The problem is I'm sure they'll make me pay shipping to send this one back to them even if they agree to swap it out.  I'm wondering if I would be better trying to sell this card on ebay, and then just buying another card.
1411  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: I RMA'd a 5830 and got back a 6790 on: November 09, 2012, 04:40:54 PM
I would msg them and say WTF?  Why did you send me a lower performance card?

you should have at least got a 6870...

Here's what XFX says is their RMA replacement policy:
Quote
Items deemed faulty will be replaced or repaired (subject to availability). If an item is replaced, the replacement will be the same exact model or a model deemed as equivalent (equal or better 3D performance) by XFX.

XFX reserves the right to provide a replacement based on the performance of the original purchased product and not features, current market value, or original purchase price. XFX also reserves the right to replace products with like models of a different type, for example AMD with NVIDIA, or NVIDIA with AMD.
1412  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / I RMA'd a 5830 and got back a 6790 on: November 09, 2012, 04:35:15 PM
Should I just sell the 6790 or mine with it?  I'm assuming I don't have any basis for complaining to XFX since technically this is supposed to be a better card for gaming.

I have another 5830 currently RMA'd with XFX and I expect they'll probably do the same for that other card.

(Please don't clog up the thread with sell all gpus and buy ASICS blah blah blah)

1413  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Sold] XFX 5850 (2) on: November 09, 2012, 05:04:00 AM
These two are now sold to the first person who contacted me.

Thanks for all the intrest, I have 1 more (same model) to sell in a few days pending moving some stuff arround. This one had an easy life as it was in my room and I did not mine with it much because of the noise and it is currently in my work machine while I am RMA'ing an Eyfinity6.

Post back when the other one comes free, or shoot me a PM.  I'm sure I'll still be interested by then.   Smiley

Looking for risers for the small slots and larger PCI slots. PM!

You can get the 1x -> 16x risers here:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-E-Extension-Cable-1X-To-16X-Riser-Card-Adapter-new-/310347061078?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4842205756

I need a few of these myself, but prefer to buy here from fellow bitcoiners if possible.  So if you can beat or meet that price, pm me too Smiley

1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terracoin - not too low ? on: November 08, 2012, 04:08:36 PM
Is there anyone interested in "testing" Terracoin transactions? What I mean by that is = I have BTCs and I want TRCs. Any offer?

C'mon people, I don't wanna be stuck on just one yacht!  Grin
How mush do you offer for 20TRC?

Are you buying or selling?

If selling, .0001 BTC.
If buying, 1 BTC   Grin

I'm hoarding until there comes a good use for these.  I have faith in them.
1417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terracoin - not too low ? on: November 07, 2012, 10:37:30 PM
I'd say its about time for someone to post terracoin on one of the main exchanges.  But on the other hand that would just draw more attention to it, and thus make the difficulty go up.  So maybe not quite yet  Grin

I have to say no to this one. Not just because of the difficulty going up, because it's just not about that. It's been around a week, it's totally not time to do an exchange. Maybe in 3 months if it's still here we could talk about it then. But worse then drive attention to it and drive the difficulty up, it will just make it a target for attack. So I'd say, lets not talk exchanges. It is a great test bed for trying things out- there have been enough pump and dumps. There isn't even a block explorer yet, so people cant' even see if the coins are moving around without heading to the command line.

No,no, lets keep the exchange talk to a minimum and instead build cool stuff first.

I see your point.  No reason to rush it.  But wouldn't that likely help protect against an attack?  More hashrate = harder to 51%.

And speaking of which, someone should get on a block explorer!

Maybe, or maybe it would show that the coin was worth nothing, everyone would stop mining it and the hashrate would drop the whole thing would die. Al-la Geist Geld, FairBrix, Tenebrix, IOcoin, IXcoin, the list goes on and on. The best thing to do for now is to stay off an exchange. :-)

And this is how discussions should be held on the internet.  +1 you've convinced me Smiley
