1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3x5830 1 runs about 100Kh/s slower than the other 2 on: October 27, 2012, 05:06:35 PM
Ok, I just figured out what's causing the drop.  It doesn't appear to have anything to do with the cards themselves.

If I plug my monitor into GPU 0, GPU 0 loses about 100Kh/s, GPU's 1 & 2 run fine.
If I plug my monitor into GPU 1, GPU 1 loses about 100Kh/s, GPU's 0 & 2 run fine.
If I plug my monitor into GPU 2, GPU 2 loses about 100Kh/s, GPU's 0 & 1 run fine.

So the issue is obviously the display is causing the reduction.  The question is now, how do I fix this?  Running windows 8 x64.

Edit:  See post below.  I apparently was wrong.

I just set this rig up last night.  Here's a screen shot:

Here's the command I'm running to start it:

Quote
cgminer --scrypt -o http://xxxxxxx -u user -p pass --thread-concurrency 5600 -I 18 -g 1 -w 256

GPU 1 runs consistently 100Kh/s slower than GPU 0 & GPU 2.  That's assuming it even starts, which sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes it sits at 0 while the other 2 mine away where they should be.
I've tried running all 3 in crossfire, and not using the crossfire cables.  (By the way I can't tell that this makes a difference, does it matter?)

Also while in this screengrab it says that GPU 1 is SICK, it's temps shoot way up which tells me its atleast trying.

Suggestions?

And here it is after I reset it a couple of times and GPU 1 started:

Will this list held up against the infamous Las Vegas Pirate meetup?  Cheesy

Not sure, but to date we have one French banker, three KC area photographers, an ex-felon, a foundation guy, a data center guy who just happened to work across the street from one of BFL's address, and a Walmart greeter doing assembly, possibly soon with a piece of equipment purchased off eBay. You have to wonder if Pirate is saying to himself, "Why the hell didn't I think of this?"

1464  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX ordering DDOS ATTACKS!?!?!?!!? on: October 27, 2012, 05:12:58 AM
That's one hell of an accusation to make without evidence, and making it without proving it can only damage BTC-e's reputation.

Explain yourself BTC-e support.
Seriously, that could be grounds for a lawsuit under slander/libel.

Yes it could.  That is an extremely serious allegation.

Edit:  But we don't have the entire conversation.  Support could have said:  "All these rumors about the DDOS need to stop."  And the question could have been asked:  "What is the rumor that is going around?"  And support could have replied: "mtgox ordered it."

One screenshot can be taken completely out of context.
1465  Other / Beginners & Help / Backup Question on: October 27, 2012, 05:06:53 AM
I'm about to do a fresh install of Windows.

Just to be perfectly clear, the ONLY files I need a backup copy of are my wallet.dat in my bitcoin folder, and my wallet.dat in my litecoin folder.

Then to restore in the fresh windows, I'll just reinstall the wallets, and copy the wallet.dat's into their respective folders.

I know this is right, I just have to ask as I would not be too thrilled if I lost my coins.

Excellent transaction with AnonX.  I sold him 15BTC for USD to Moneybookers.  Very smooth and fast transaction.  Will be coming back for more.
1467  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Opinions on Moneybookers? on: October 26, 2012, 02:12:24 PM
They have low fees (capped at 0,8usd and 0,5eur) and I've never had any problems. Highly recommend.

Chargebacks are hard to get. I once tried to have it reserved because the reciever did not deliver the goods (private person, not a company) and they said something to the effect of; "We do not interfer in personal matters.". I think however its possible if you claim you were hacked and internal investigation yields the same result.

They are not bitcoin friendly as far as I know, so better not mention it to them via transfer or support correspondance.

Transfer to bank account takes around 1-4days for me in Norway.

I do however advice you to try to achieve VIP status if feasible as you get a free security token as well as the ability to have multiple accounts with different currencies.

Btw, pretty sure they do not take american customers.

I'm buying BTC with moneybookers and have both EUR and USD account if you are interested.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101802.0

Well if they don't accept American customers I guess that pretty much knocks me out.  I think I'd prefer to use bitinstant based on everything I know, just they've been down for the past little bit.  Not sure when they're coming back up.

1468  Economy / Currency exchange / Opinions on Moneybookers? on: October 26, 2012, 05:58:59 AM
I need to sell some BTC and convert to USD in my bank account.  Paypal obviously sucks.  Dwolla I don't like them for various reasons, one of which is how long it takes to transfer funds from your Dwolla account to your bank account.

But I've never used Moneybookers before?  Are they safer than using Paypal  (chargebacks)?  How long do they take to transfer the funds to your bank account?

I'm open to other suggestions as well, that accomplish the same goals in a quick, safe, and cheap method.

Oh you're scrypt mining. I didn't spot that. Good luck.

I get the same thing if I'm not.
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cgminer - Problem with multiple GPUs on: October 26, 2012, 01:11:33 AM
You do not put -n in when you're trying to mine... it's for information only

Right, I did that just to get it so I could copy and paste it.

Without it this is what I get:

Now all that happens is my Nvidia driver craps out immediately, and I still get the error.

I'm having trouble getting a new setup going.

I have a Nvidia 560 Ti and a 5830 in the same system.

I've previously been using Reaper with the 560Ti, and just added the 5830 to the system today.
I'm trying to use cgminer with the 5830, but here's the error message I get:

Suggestions on fixing this problem?

What I would like to do is allow the 5830 to run all the time.  (I don't have it hooked to a display).  Then I would like to be able to use the 560 as just a regular card, and occasionally use it to mine.  I don't want cgminer to use the 560 Ti at all.  Just when I want to run it, I'll just fire up Reaper.

Edit:  I'm at a complete loss.  Also, in my Catalyst Control Center, I don't have the overdrive options.  wtf?  Cleaned drivers, installed fresh, etc.

We are under DDOS attack.

Gotta love jackasses.

What exactly is the benefit of ddosing a pool?  Is it done by your competitors?  Is it done by those wishing to drive down the overall hashrate to decrease difficulty?

I think humans are collectively destined to destroy ourselves. The question is how much we take down with us.

I agree with this statement with one exception.

If we hold off on making our species extinct long enough to get off of this planet, then that greatly reduces the likelihood of total extinction.  The question in my mind is which comes first:

Do we escape the confines of planet Earth first?  Or do we kill ourselves first?

I'm running a 5830 using cgminer at 900/1200.

My config file is cgminer --scrypt -o http://yourpool.com -u username -p password --thread-concurrency 5600 -I 20 -g 1 -w 256

I'm getting 288k/h.

Fan is set at 60% and I range in temp from 77-80C depending on ambient.  Any thoughts or suggestions or should I leave well enough alone?
