This is about as relevant an indicator of bitcoin as ice cream sales on a hot summer day are an indicator of suicides.
The hours of sunlight a day are a good indicator of the frequency of suicides (No other threads out there I wanted to post in right now, so just thought I'd throw that out there lol)

Bump for price update.
Were you able to run 5 GPUs on that GA-970A-D3? Did you use powered or nonpowered pci extenders?

What happens if a 3rd person pays the same amount? Do they take the place of the two that were knocked out?
Good point. A rare event I would think, but possible. In that case, that's what I'll do. New rule: If 3 people pay the same amount, the first two knock each other out, but the third person's payment is still valid.

Now TRC difficulty has hit 3589.4. I knew that was going to happen when all you big BTC gpu hogs jumped on this little coin... The Retarded Coin lol oh you....

I'd hate to destroy my 7970s with LTC mining. They've been mining bitcoin undervolted and downclocked for 7 months with no issues at all. Time to start gaming again...
That's why I feel the best options (for me) out there right now are PPC and TRC. LTC is a great coin and all, but it just works my cards so hard. The heat they produce is much greater than mining the other coins.

Is there a reason why the 'main' card doesn't hash as well as 'slave' cards when using cgminer?
The slaves can do 500 easy while the main card barely can get to 100 all with I=13.
You're going to have to play with the intensity level and the clock/memory speeds. It took me forever to find the "sweet spot" on my rigs for LTC. The main card would also mine slower, but I finally got it where it was just a little bit slower than the others. Without even adjusting your clock/memory speeds, first try adjusting your intensity level just for your main card. Lower it, while keeping the intensity level for the slave cards at 13.

I thought it was obvious I meant all in one process. Exchange TRC for BTC. Yes, you can exchange TRC for PPC for BTC, but that just complicates things, and doesn't make it as user friendly.

So for LTC it needs atleast 16GB of RAM ? WHen i tryed LTC minig, it was mining well and then after a wile it reports very low speeds.
How abot Terracoin, any thoughts? I dont like that it has no exchange.
I'm a big fan of Terracoin. The exchange problem will eventually work itself out, especially once more gpu miners jump on due to the halving.

Nobody is trading lol
Unless one can trade any coin for any other coin, it's not exchange - it's tool for price manipulations by owner.I agree to the extent that I'm not pleased that you can only exchange TRC for PPC. Why not BTC?

I was going to offer $90 shipped, but then I saw that offer had already been turned down. But if you change your mind pm me

Come on guys, help me finish at least one round of this game lol.

Mostly it's wanting. But in seriousness, TRC is so similar to BTC, with a few minor tweaks (which I consider improvements), most of the infrastructure that already exists for BTC could easily be adapted for that of TRC. You do have a point, that is one good thing about Terracoins. The only thing that scares me about them is at this point the network is somewhat slow. All it would take would be someone with a shiny new BFL SC Mini Rig to do a 51%. With scrypt, that is at least not possible (with ASICs or as easily... it would require a shit ton of gpus or a botnet). I believe what is keeping the TRC network so low is the lack of a public exchange. People primarily mine to make money. If they can't easily exchange the coins they are mining, then why should they mine? So it's one of those which came first, the chicken or the egg type of arguments. Exchanges don't typically like to add coins until their is a significant demand, and miners don't like to devote large amounts of hashing power to coins unless there is an exchange.

I'm bumping this thread. But I'm also adding a new piece of information in light of the delay announcements.
Others may (actually, I guarantee some others will) disagree with me, but I've come to the conclusion that the openness and professionalism of Tom (cablepair) with BTCFPGA is far superior to that of BFL. I believe BTCFPGA will deliver before BFL. I obviously may be wrong as I don't have any inside information other than what has been publicly stated.
In addition, the quick support I received yesterday in placing my order, even in light of such a busy day for them, further reinforces my opinion.
I do not take lightly the responsibility to protect my lenders' interests, especially when I am asking them to bear the risk that ASICs are vaporware. So at this time, with this responsibility in mind, I prefer lenders who are interested in ordering bASICs. Will I order from BFL? Yes, if you want me to.
Thanks, Nolo

My opinion:
6. I expect one or two alt coins to really take off in 2013 with this extra boost, similar to Bitcoin, with many improvements across the table (miners/protocol/usability/exchange rate).
I vote Terracoins I'd like to see Terracoin take off to as i have a nice little hoard of them, or PPC for that matter.... but TRC is such an early stage and difficulty is very low relatively that it is VERY vulnerable to 51% attack, so TRC network could do with a few big miners to take a chance on the coin and see what happens... i saw the difficulty drop to 700ish this week to.... and been up at 9000 at one point ... so lot of variation there to.... PPC has seen a few difficulty bubbles but a general slow and steady rise has seen PPC along with its proof of stake element really take off and give the currency credibility as it is different from BTC... TRC is VERY similar to BTC, and although it offers nothing really new... would be easier to get joe public interested in this coin if they have BTC already.... but why u think TRC will be the one? ... or u just WANT TRC to be the one?? Mostly it's wanting. But in seriousness, TRC is so similar to BTC, with a few minor tweaks (which I consider improvements), most of the infrastructure that already exists for BTC could easily be adapted for that of TRC.

I'll bump the thread. Round 1 still in progress. Haven't made it to 1.1 BTC yet. As soon as I do, someone's getting paid
|
|
|
Well do you, punk?
Instructions: 1) PM me or post in this thread saying "I want to play!" 2) I will PM you with a bitcoin address. 3) Send up to .50 BTC in .01 increments to that address.
Whoever sends the highest amount, will receive a prize of 1 BTC.
But here's the catch: If two people send the same amount, they knock each other out, and neither will win. If 3 people pay the same amount, the first two knock each other out, but the third person's payment is still valid.
Example: If the following amounts are sent: 1) .35 2) .48 3) .48 4) .21 Then the person that sent .35 will win.
Please make sure that just like satoshidice, the address you send with is capable of receiving the winning 1 BTC.
I will announce the winning address, and send the winning 1 BTC, as soon as I have received atleast 1.1 BTC.
Also if you win, please post back here in the thread so you can gloat and personally be congratulated!
Round 1: Currently in progress......
