This looks very odd. Did you find the issue yet?
No. And the B.E. LED gives a good, bright light which toggles off and on then stays on after the R.Pi is up and running. The lines thru the test aren't mine but appeared when I copied and pasted. When I try to run it on a Ubuntu system, and this has been running bfgminer with a zTex 1.15x, I get 'unable to enumerate USB device on port'. Are you use usb 2.0 or 3.0? Just tried with a PCMCIA USB 2.0 adapter and got unable to enumerate USB device, and again with another PCMCIA USB 2.0 cardbus adapter, same thing. This on a Ubuntu system that runs zTex 1.15x just fine.

Block Erupter from BTCGuild arrived today, rather yesterday. Spent the last 14 hours trying to get it to hash without success.
ft232r_scan: Found 0424:9512 - not a ft232r was a complaint by minepeon. connect-debounce failed was noted on various machines.
I can see one of the two crystals isn't square on its pads.
I've order an expensive USB3.0 hub from Amazon and hope that will correct the problem but the Block Erupter arrived with the seal on the small white box opened so, it's even money this is dud. I don't see an easy way to contact BTCGuild by email. Seems to be missing from the website.

Just as a quick reminder:
This thread is to list your BFL orders so that we, the people, can get a vague idea of when BFL is shipping it's many products. Please refrain from arguing, personal opinions, conjecture, general trolling, advertising, etc. These sorts of things aren't needed here, and can be discussed in multiple other threads. In short, if you're aren't contributing to this thread with your order information or specs, please don't bother posting.
Thanks, -Mufa
Perhaps get invoice numbers because pre-March 2013 invoice numbers are only 15% of pre-March order numbers. Why should that ship if not paid? Why ship if the customer waits until his order number is about to get processed and only then fork over the money? What to do with an order placed in 2012 that isn't paid until 6 months into 2013?

Have you an invoice number to go with that?

Okay, the unit has arrived at my post office box. Quite a oddity, absolutely no tracking by the US Postal Authorities while it was in their custody until delivery. Sorry about the confusion. zTex delivered the repair.

Is your "US based" stipulation due to cost/time or possible, and I stress only possible, intransigence on the part of zTex? Some of their email to me verges on snide and a repair they say was shipped on 23 March (11 days now) hasn't appeared in the US Postal Service tracking yet. Also they insist that if a FPGA failure is not their fault they have zero refund responsibility except as good will. I'm wondering if that "good will" element of their reply is also essentially snide.
I've read a post by a miner using zTex boards and wondered why he accepted running one at very limited hashrate instead of returning it for repair. I believe now I understand why.

This likely should be in the Marketplace forum but as a newbie....
I would like to see a forum dedicated to the sale of new Asian automobiles for Bitcoin. Automobiles that comply to safety and emission requirements of most states. The cost should include shipping with the customer having a choice of port-of-entry.

Okay, I'm presently reindexing after upgrading Bitcoin-QT. What happens if BTC are sent to an address of the wallet while it's out of sync? How long can a transaction remain unconfirmed?
|
|
|
Thanks. Knowing that wallet.dat arguably could be copied by someone hacking my home network, or even copied by a burglar and later hacked makes me uneasy. Making multiple copies on various media and removing it from the system seems best.
So, shutting down Bitcoin-QT and copying the encrypted wallet.dat to say a flash drive and another copy to a 1.44 disc and/or CD or DVD then deleting the wallet.dat and restarting Bitcoin-QT will create a new empty wallet.dat. This will then scan the blockchain and sync up. Bitcoin-QT with its new wallet.dat will have a new address for receiving BTC. When I want to access the wallet.dat with most of the BTC, I would move any that accumulated in the new wallet.dat to another machine, shut down Bitcoin-QT, delete wallet.dat, copy the valuable wallet.dat into the Bitcoin directory, restart and let sync and see my BTC as had been saved and accessible with the encrypted password.
Does this mean that I don't have to use the same machine? Having Bitcoin-QT running on multiple machines, can I take the saved wallet.dat and open it with ANY machine running the same version of Bitcoin-QT? And if it wasn't encrypted, could that burglar with a copy of wallet.dat open it on any machine with Bitcoin-QT and shoot the money over to silkroad or something?
Thanks,
Best regards,

Okay, I understand one should make a backup of wallet.dat and wallet.dat can be encrypted. But, can one move wallet.dat onto a flash drive and continue to have Bitcoin maintain its blockchain without a wallet.dat on the system? And then, when one wants to do a transaction, copy the wallet.dat back to the Bitcoin directory, shutdown and restart the program so as to do the transaction? Asking is safer than experimenting I think.
Best regards,

Build a dedicated mining rig if you wish to mine & mine Litecoins on it, see my sig, with ASICs about to take over the Bitcoin network there's no point aiming for that. Also check out the blockchain.info wallet much more user friendly than the client one.
Can one simply run something like rpcminer-cpu directed to a Litecoin pool or is there some fundamental difference between Bitcoin miners and Litecoin miners?

I see the rare thefts from major exchanges. I can see someone running bitcoin-qt or bitcoind as well as having an account on an exchange and after buying some BTC shooting them over to his wallet on the home computer running Bitcoin. With or without the wallet.dat having been encrypted, how often does a theft from a home system wallet.dat happen? It's not like those would make the news much.

Bitcoin mining work has little return now for individual miners with lower hash rates. I understand Bitcoins are a reward for proof-of-work. While running folding@home team Soyrunner I saw the complexity increase such that WU's went from days to weeks to longer, of course machine strength dependant. WU's did give an indication of work done. Is there anything like a WU, having a start and finish, with Bitcoin mining such that an indication of work actually having been done is given?

What the heat will kill is the battery. Replacement laptop batteries are expensive. I suppose if you can remove the battery and run on an external supply then you'll only cook the CMOS battery.

I had been running FAH for years. Last year I think it was I installed Bitcoin and ran it for a few days. I started having response issues and stopped running Bitcoin and deleted most files. I've recently decided to start again on an old dual processor W6000 running Debian Wheezy to generate some heat this winter.
I have a few questions. Among the files I found remaining before deleting most Bitcoin files is the Bitcoin.conf with user name and password, and a text file I saved as bitcoin.address.txt with the encrypted key.
1. Do I use the same name and password on multiple machines? 2. Do I use the same encrypted address string on other machines? 3. How do I check to see if the program generated any bitcoins in the week it had been running or if they disappeared in the bitcoin ripoff? 4. Having just loaded Wheezy and extracted the bitcoin-9.7.1-linux.tar.gz after downloading in KDE the file bitcoind fails to run on the command line from a terminal and returns 'bash: ./bitcoind: cannot execute binary file. Am I blundering somehow? The file permissions are 755 and won't execute as user or root. 5. I can't find a Debian Wheezy repository containing Bitcoin files. Ubuntu and Raspbian Wheezy yes, Debian Wheezy no. Is there such a repository?
Thanks. I'm looking forward to crunching data with Bitcoin.
