1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 17, 2023, 01:30:35 PM
I will make my own prediction. I like this match-up and I am confident that my favorite teams will advance.

TNT 1-0
Magnolia 2-1
SMB 1-0
Ginebra 2-1

The top 4 teams are in twice to beat advantage, right? So that's my prediction.
Magnolia vs Meralco is the only series I think will be an interesting game.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 16, 2023, 12:34:05 PM
Everyone deserves a second chance. If the league can accept him again, there's no reason the Grizzlies cannot accept him. He is still young and prone to make mistakes, so let's give him a second chance. Besides, without Ja Morant, the Grizzlies wouldn't be where they are now.

I think there are some negotiations going on about this between the Grizzlies and the league. I am quite sure that they are going to work something out between themselves and let him play again.

And I have to say one thing. After all he is only 23. His mistakes are not forgiven at 23, when are his mistakes going to be forgiven!!

I also believe that they are already working it out. Ja Morant is a superstar and lots of fans would want to see him play, so I think we might be surprised that he will be back soon. His offense was serious, but the league and the team could give him a warning that if it happens again, he'll be banned from the NBA for life.

When he comes back, I hope to see a new Ja - the swaggy Ja, but more for entertainment purposes only.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 16, 2023, 11:19:58 AM
Tomorrow, we will witness a very good matchup between TNT and the Gin Kings, and the odds so far are both at 1.90. I'm sure Ginebra bettors will put a lot of money due to the odds, but we cannot underestimate TNT because they are also playing very well. They have lots of shooters that could give the Gin Kings some trouble.

What are your thoughts? Personally, I am now tempted to bet on TNT. Why? Because it's not Sunday! LOL
1184  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 16, 2023, 08:28:04 AM
If you have the capacity to lend someone in your family that will not gonna give huge impact to your finances then why not help them? Unless this guy has multiple unpaid loans to you then you should not lend him anymore. Human is not a natural untrustworthy, there situation just push them to become that kind of person. I have this kind of cousin too that continuously badgering me about borrowing money. I can’t give him the amount that he want but I still lend him money that I can afford.

Sometimes family is worthy than money especially if you will see this person most of the time because they knew you are financial stable which is painful for them to be turn down.
Same with my point too. It’s not hard to lend a money especially if you see that person is really in a bad financial situation. As long as you are lending your extra money, I think that will not make you financially broke. Even if that person keeps asking you for assistance, you can always give as long as you do it willingly. However, if you discover that he is just spending your money for his vices, well helping him is not worth it. By that time, you can give him some advice, but never lend him money anymore as you are only used to provide him for his vices.
1185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Trade on Emotions on: March 16, 2023, 07:25:24 AM

- panic
- Doubt
- Hurry
- Fomo
- Angry
- worried
A major key for a trader is your enemy is always his emotions.
Funny enough all the above qualities you mentioned are qualities of man and they are manifested at different times due to certain condition that the fellow is in.
There is one you didn't include and that is excitement.  Maybe because your trade is going well, you can no longer stick to your budget or stop trading at the appropriate time until you blow your portfolio.

To be sure that you have mastered the act of trading, you must be able to control these emotions and also develop a reasonable degree of patience.  Trading is more about emotional manipulations mosh times  and that is why it is sometimes likened to gambling.
Excitement is closely related to trading in a hurry because you are very eager to reap your profits knowing the market is very positive. But when the market suddenly crash, and you see prices are dropping, then you become easily affected and resort into wrong decision making that will affect your trades. That’s why as much as we can, we should never trade with emotions or at least control it. If we can’t do that, I guess we will hardly become successful in trading.
1186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of my big losses (Gamble Responsibly) on: March 16, 2023, 07:07:39 AM
It's funny how gamble responsibly could mean differently from one gambler to another. That is like saying gamble what you can afford to lose, and you, OP, is betting as high as $20,000. Of course, you can afford to lose that. To somebody else, or perhaps to most of us here, that is already a life-changing amount we wouldn't just risk on a wager.

Anyway, I'm just saying that what gamblers can afford to lose widely differs. It could be $1. It could be $10 or $100 or $1,000. Or it could be $20,000. The point is that the money that a gambler should bet is an extra.

How I wish I could gamble like you, OP!
Obviously, OP is a high roller and I think there’s no wrong with that as long as he only bet his extra money, not his hard-earned money. But it seems he really gamble responsibly because he is also making his fair share of winnings. However, the good thing about him is he never hide from us his previous huge losses, the reason why he also bet big amount so he can recover his losses easily once he got lucky. But for most of us here, make sure that we should only gamble on an amount we can afford to lose, because once we lose in gambling, there’s no way we can easily regain the amount and it takes another luck or chance to win significant winnings.
1187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I succeed as newbie. on: March 15, 2023, 09:46:06 PM

1188  Economy / Economics / Re: With the present economic outlook, do you think that this is good advise? on: March 15, 2023, 09:31:27 PM
I think he is a wise and knowledgeable man, whatever thing you do despite any degree you have attain or achieved in life you need a personal skill not just a skill but many with the latest happening in the world you could get employed through any of those skills you have acquired in life. Trading is also good but with the pressure taste and hunger for wealth would make you not to purely excel in the field though you could be making profit but might not be for a long term. Please respect and honor him because you may not know the value of having a mentor, who always tells you the truth about life.
Skills are indeed necessary so you can achieve your goal, whether you’re applying for your desired position, or you want to enter into any type of business, or trading business I guess. Being a graduate alone is not a guarantee, but developing your own personal skills will make you an asset in the company or will certainly improve the chances of making profits if you trade with skills and working strategies. As long as you have the knowledge and skills, definitely you’re in for a successful career.
1189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I keep money in the bank or buy bitcoins? on: March 15, 2023, 08:59:28 PM
In my opinion, if you buy some bitcoins instead of keeping money in the bank, you can benefit from the current market.  Because Bitcoin is known as the godfather of digital currency around the world.  Your bank will give you a small profit on your capital month after month.  And besides, the bank can be robbed.  But if you keep buying bitcoins then bitcoins will not be lost at all. Even if the price drops a bit it will reach such a price and height that your capital will be doubled.  So I think it is better to buy bitcoins than bank.  Then he acts as he pleases.  This is my personal opinion.  thank you
There’s actually more advantages from buying bitcoin than just simply storing your money in a bank. You will have higher chances to increase your profits from investing especially if your bitcoin investment paid off. However, if you can’t be responsible of the safety of your bitcoin, then there’s still high chances that it will be robbed or stolen especially if you entrust your bitcoin into a centralized exchange, as even big and reputable exchanges are not excuse from hacking. Bitcoin is a great investment, you just have to save it in your own non-custodial wallet so you can have the full control over your bitcoin.
1190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some of the most common mistakes we make as beginners, and how to avoid them. on: March 15, 2023, 08:41:09 PM
~snip

1. High quality post: One of the most important skills to learn in these forums is how to write meaningful content. If you can't write good content as a newcomer, you would be considered a shitposter in the forum and end up with nothing in your posts. I'm still not sure what a quality post is because there's so much content on this topic with different definitions. All I can say is that we beginners should avoid spamming by making our content meaningful.

~snip
It will not be so easy for beginners to fulfill this condition. The quality of the posts will directly depend on the background of the person. If this is not the case, then it is almost impossible to create high quality posts and this will have to be learned. I will not say that this is a super-difficult task, but depending on the abilities of people, it will take a different amount of time to master. Everything new is always something to learn. So, for many beginners, writing low-quality posts is almost inevitable and they all have to go through this path on their own. Someone will improve, but someone will not be able to and will abandon the forum (or become a shitposter).
Beginners still have to go a long process in learning before they can achieve high quality post in the forum. Although some have manage to create good post but we can’t say the contents are really impressive and of high quality, and that’s expected since they are still starting to learn and gain knowledge on the different insights of cryptocurrency. But we know everything can be learned and perfected in time. With determination and hard work in the forum, I know beginners will eventually become the quality posters in the long run.
1191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do we manage our crypto trading strategy on: March 14, 2023, 10:00:13 PM
Hi guys
Nowadays there are so many crypto trading strategies in practice but the true challenge here is how to continue trading with out being obsolete as we know efficiency brings profit
That’s the challenge in trading as our strategies won’t be working all the time and that we should upgrade them from time to time and make sure if they can still be useful or not. In times where we only see consistent losses from trading, then maybe it’s a good reason that we have to change our strategies already and work on it. Don’t wait for our trading strategies become obsolete, instead keep on learning everytime you trade and develop more strategies that would secure your profitability in trading.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: March 14, 2023, 09:43:51 PM
the only thing that makes an investor sell his coin are healthcare issues,  as a human we are we don't have to be uncharitable to ourselves because we all have only one life to live despite we all need money

Not just health care issues, if Bitcoin jumps by 1000% or more at this moment, some holders may be tempted to sell part of their holdings, hoping to buy back should the price drop again.
Well, people would not hesitate to sell if there is a very high price surge for bitcoin as that’s what we’ve been waiting the whole time. However, the rate of chance for this to happen might be very low this time, as we are still waiting for bitcoin halving to finally see a good progress for bitcoin. But in instances where my family’s health will be at risk, regardless if the price of bitcoin is still not impressive, I would not doubt selling them so I can save my family’s health.
1193  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 13, 2023, 09:59:08 PM
I want to know if it right for children that are of 10-15years go in to trade or not because I have a kid friend of about 14years and very eager to learn trading but am scared of the lost and how long it will take him to understand what his doing, because it hasn't been very easy for me. So what your opinion please I need help? because I think is too risky for them to go in to trade for now.

There's no set legal age to "learn" trading, bro. Anyone, at any age, can learn to trade whenever they want or the eagerness is really there. However, on the technical side, these minors might not be able to experience the actual trading yet with their own respective trading account since KYC is a real deal. Should be of legal age where a person can provide Valid IDs and documents and related things.

But if the goal is to really teach children to do trade, experienced ones can provide some test or demo accounts just for these youngsters to familiarize the trading interface. After all, what can we do if these youngsters really want to learn trades rather than play outside with the usual kid's game?
Everyone is actually free to trade, but not everyone is capable to trade. That’s why if you see some passion from a kid to learn trade eagerly, then praise him and guide him all the way. Help him develop his knowledge and skills in trading, and demo account could be good enough to let him experience what trading is all about. If he never change his mindset and is still eager to trade more after a lose trade, maybe he is really meant to be a successful trader when he reaches his right age to trade.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: March 11, 2023, 01:41:51 PM
[snip]
It could be, Shakur's ratio might be 47% and got a much lower ratio than the Japanese but I cannot really include that as basis because the latter is more of a local boxer to me because all of his fight are being held inside Japan, hence why most of his title are labeled as Asia Pacific. I'm more inclined that there's a good reason why Shakur's camp chose Yoshino and that is to highlight his debut.
It could be the right ratio --perhaps that is true that Shuichiro Yoshino may have a higher win ratio than Shakur Stevenson, but sometimes we give to consider the level of competition each boxer has faced. But we should not be comfortable with that --Shakur Stevenson has already established himself as a world-class boxer, having won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics and held the WBO featherweight title and I think it is also a great consideration for him.

Exactly, it's the level of opposition too, that we need to look at and not just the record per se. So maybe Yoshino has more fights and high knockout ratio, but it doesn't mean that he is the better of the two.

Still boils down on who this fighter has, on the other hand, just the last 3 fighters that Shakur face might not be enough for the whole resume of the Japanese to match, just saying. So that alone shows how both fighters are very different, and it is reflected on the odds itself.

In terms of quickness and ring IQ, those belong to Stevenson. So even though Yoshino is a KO artist, I don't think he will be able to hit Stevenson with solid shots. That's a lot to ask for him, and since he isn't a popular boxer, I don't expect he will make it. This fight will most likely result in an additional win for Stevenson and an easy one at that.

As for the betting odds, Shakur is 1.08 to win.

1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Gambling Legalization Reduce Gambling Rings? on: March 11, 2023, 01:07:53 PM
I think that's a good idea, especially in countries where it's not really against their religion.

Gambling is not bad in general, as long as we gamble responsibly and with proper education. Legalizing it will help gamblers to be responsible and they will know that they should only risk what they can afford to lose. In our country, some forms of gambling are regulated while others are banned, but some operators do not stop and instead run illegal gambling sites, and there are still people who patronize them.

Therefore, legalizing them may be a better option.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 11, 2023, 12:01:50 PM

We cant really make out some conclusive approach that Inoue does have a huge advantage on here, we should really be thinking that this is a different weight division which means
that it is really that different but we know that changes in weight isnt really that much of an issue since it is really that impossible that Inoue wont really be making out some adjustment.
Both camps wont really be that confident considering that there's too much hype on this fight considering that Inoue is the favorite.

Not much adjustment is needed for Inoue here as he doesn't increase in weight a lot, and I'm pretty sure he's still comfortable with the super bantamweight division. Maybe in a higher weight division we should be concerned, but not here. It's just peanuts for Inoue, as his power is going to destroy Fulton if he wants to prove that he can beat Inoue and will go toe-to-toe.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 11, 2023, 11:25:12 AM
That Spurs game was a crazy upset. Should’ve put something down on them I guess. I think the odds were 7 to 1. All the other games tonight have been really close down to the wire games. A good night for exciting NBA basketball. I just wish the Nuggets didn’t lose. Smiley

A crazy upset indeed, I couldn't pictured that.

Minnesota also falling short the Brooklyn Nets in overtime is another loss in my dictionary, I expected the Nets to be without most of their stars and starts with a line that include the likes of Patty Mills and Royce O'neale with Cam Thomas, the game ended pretty close too.

It's also very close between the Lakers and Toronto Raptors with 8 minutes to play for in the 4th Quarter, I must agree that all today games have been pretty much interesting to see, with no heavy blowouts from first quarter or first half.

The Lakers continue to amaze us. The Raptors are a pretty decent team, yet the Lakers beat them. When Davis wasn't scoring his usual points, it wasn't a problem as Russell and Schroder were there to carry the team. They are now a different Lakers team, with someone from the roster able to step up and win. What's more, if LeBron comes back, they will definitely be a playoff-ready team.

D'Angelo Russell couldn't have arrived at a better time imo, it was D'Lo with the magic wand (hand) in the 4th Quarter to put the Raptors to sleep, it was as though the Raptors already have a magnificent plan to limit the effectiveness of Anthony Davis, and it worked perfectly because Anthony combined for less than 20 PRA having played for 32 minutes, I can't remember the last time I saw him this ineffective, but the Raptors had no answers for Dennis Schroder and D'Lo, and the entire Lakers bench out scoring their starters too.

That's the weak side of their game plan; they thought that since Davis has been carrying the team in the last few games, the team would be ineffective if they could minimize his production. However, they need to remember that D'Lo is a star player in his previous team (he was traded from LA to Minnesota and back to LA again), and of course, Dennis Schröder has a high level of confidence as he believes he is worth more than what he received on his LA contract.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 11, 2023, 08:12:20 AM
He may have slowed down a bit but as we get older we have more power, his experience will also be a big advantage for him here. It's just the stamina that I think will be the issue here. If Santiago will try to wear him down first then it will depend on how well he will control the ring. Jabs will be really helpful as his long reach has the advantage at 174 cm against 166 cm of Santiago.

True, he may have slowed down, but I don't mind. He isn't fighting Inoue, so he doesn't need lots of quickness. He will be fighting Santiago, who is not even a popular boxer, so I guess Donaire should have the edge in every angle. If we talk about him being old, that's another story, as we need to see if he performs like an old boxer in this coming match.

Donaire has the length and with great timing, that could be his biggest advantage.

1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 10, 2023, 04:26:13 PM
Congratulations to Paul Lee for winning the 3-point shootout. He didn't even take off his T-shirt while shooting, yet he still won the game. It looks like Paul Lee's 3-point shooting has improved a lot, and the good thing about him is that he is a clutch player, so he is not pressured in tough situations.

His total score was 27 points, Lassiter had 21, and Tiongson had 18, if I'm not mistaken.

Congratulations For Paul lee and he is an old veteran than can still proved to us what he got. Without a doubt Paul lee is one of the best three point shooters in PBA even in the last seconds of the game he can do an impossible or good shot from the outside. Which means he is a clutch player. Even in his old age he can do such things. And for his opponent which lassiter played well but there's only one who can win and that's paul Lee.

There's no question that he is a clutch player. I will never forget when he made a winning free throw that broke the hearts of the Chinese. It was a 3-point shot that was fouled, and he made all 3 free throws to seal the win. Being under pressure is not new to him; it's his game, and that's what he loves. So, it's a well-deserved win for him.

Meanwhile, we have another big news. The winner of the Slam Dunk competition is David Murrell.
