There are many controversies after Makhachev vs Volkanovski match, many people are thinking Volkanovski won the match, and I am sure we are going to see rematch soon.
Now there is one potential problem for Islam Makhachev after Dan Hooker accusing him for taking intravenous (IV) therapy after weigh-ins, that is illegal in UFC
Now we are waiting to see if USADA is going to say something about this and strip Makhachev from title:
https://twitter.com/danthehangman/status/1625041978743455745
I'm not saying Dan Hooker is wrong here, since he might have insider knowledge. However, he should probably supply an accusation with a name, and some evidence, but for all we know he has behind the scenes. The UFC might have asked him t keep somewhat silent on the details. So, I'm not going to be quick to judge, but I'm also not going to believe someone did that until there's a little bit of proof that's been made publicly.

At the moment, we have an accusation against Islam, and no evidence whatsoever. Just people assuming Dan's telling the truth because of insider knowledge. Also, I'm wondering why it is against the rules? Call me uneducated, but an IV could just be for rehydration. If a fighter is dehydrated because of the weight cut, and was sent to hospital it's exactly what they would do. So, Dan Accusing him of cheating, isn't exactly true. Cheating implies there's an advantage to be had. I guess, you could look at it like; it's not allowed, and therefore anyone that does IV does get an advantage. However, I'm not sure why it would be banned in the first place. It's definitely not to prevent fighters from nearly killing themselves, because we've seen plenty of evidence to suggest they really push the limits to cut weight.

I think I'd want my fighters getting fluid into them at a controlled rate to be honest. Sounds, like it'd be safer especially by a nurse. Again, not defending anyone here, but taking the accusations with a grain of salt. However, I'm also interested in the rules surrounding hydrating yourself after a weight cut.
242  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I found a paper wallet on a beach ... seriously on: February 14, 2023, 12:11:54 AM
It's not that massively complex problem. Did you post on Reddit? Did you post on bitcointalk? Let's say yes. Did anyone came up with real proof that it belongs to them? There are a lot of ways to prove if you really want to and it's not only signing a message. If no one came and you waited for weeks, months, then what's wrong if you consider that from now on, it belongs to you? You haven't stolen from someone. Someone lost it, you tried your best to find the owner but owner did least to find you, then it belongs to you. You push yourself too much, you think like you are the killer if you tried to assist wounded person but failed to escape him.
I think it's a massively complex problem. I'd hate to be in this scenario, and in fact it's one of the reasons I didn't like helping users with their lost passwords anymore, because it's hard to prove they aren't just giving you vague details in hope you can help them get into it. If you post on social media or this forum about someone losing the wallet, you're going to get people claiming to have lost it, and some of them might be able to decipher certain information if you've included it in the explanation. The best way of doing it would be to be as vague as possible, hey guys, found a wallet this weekend let me know if you've recently lost a wallet, and from there you can kind of filter out the users that are trying a shot in the dark.

However, it's still a massively complex issue, and ultimately the decision you make could be a wrong one without adequate proof. There's not a whole lot of adequate proof if they haven't got backups, and at that point they should just move the Bitcoin to another secure address.

Honestly, I think I'd hate to be in a situation where I find a wallet. I've handed physical fiat wallets, credit cards, and things like this into the police a few times or sometimes just the establishment I'm at. For example, a restaurant because the person might come back to claim it. However, that's easy to verify. Bitcoin isn't exactly easy.

P.S for those of you planning to lose your wallets in the future, please don't. Take good care of them, because I don't want to be in this situation, ever Cheesy.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 12, 2023, 06:41:37 PM
Khabib predicted the situation when Volkanovski was the back up fighter during Olivera camp and claimed that Alexander Volkanovski would be the toughest opponent for Islam and that was literally what we witnessed and a contender for the best fight of the year.
Right, it's probably because Khabib identified that Oliveira basically leaves himself open a lot, and while he's good on the ground, he almost always gets rocked by his opponents. The difference is, a lot of the fighters aren't confident enough on the ground to follow up, and when they do they get caught in a submission. Although, Islam knew that he's good enough on the ground he can avoid that or at least feel confident enough to engage. That, ultimately was the difference. Volk probably finds Charles quite comfortable, since he doesn't really need to engage on the ground, and is quite comfortable getting decision wins. Although, he's more than capable of knocking Charles out in one punch too.
244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 12, 2023, 05:48:51 PM
I'm hoping Volk gets another chance, I mean who else is going to push Makhachev into deep water like that? There was a few times that Islam got caught, and genuinely looked like Volk could've finished it a few times. Islam's striking definitely surprised me, and probably a lot of others too. Whatever lies in the future for both fighters, Volk made me a fan last night. I liked him anyway, but he really showed some heart, and despite the disadvantages, and the fact that the media, and pretty much everyone was expecting him to lose, he sure did put up a fight.

Oliveria, and Volk would be interesting just to see how they fare now that they've both faced Oliveria, and quite clearly Volk performed better despite not being known for his grappling.
245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: February 12, 2023, 03:16:54 PM
seriously experienced players there.
I think that's part of the problem. I think we need to look to the future, and stop relying on our more experienced men. I mean, they've served us brilliantly over the years, but you can see how they're declining. Biggar, Halfpenny, and to some extent Liam Williams are all world class at their peak, but it's only really Liam Williams that's still really up there, and even he's making some mistakes, and not performing to expectation. Our forwards of decent, obviously Ken Owens is probably our best player.

The future looks bleak unless we actually start changing things up. Plus, the line outs need to be sorted, for a few years now we've struggled with that, and I'm not even sure why.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 12, 2023, 12:35:54 PM
Take a bow Volk. Islamd might have won on the score cards, but Volk won in every fans heart. What a performance from him, and could've easily taken it if he just did more output. You can see that the threat of a takedown was constantly on his mind, despite being able to get up, and the way he finished that fight, was brilliant. A real statement for a rematch. Islam probably finds most of the division easy to beat, Oliveria is a good fighter, but leaves himself too open, and I think he'll always struggle against Islam for that. However, Volk is sound defensively, and shouldn't be as shy in the punches he throws next time. Since, Volk was also trying to take Islam down at points.

Crazy fight, and a decent night of fights. My betting slip we aren't going to talk about though, as predicted by tokeweed I lost in the first fight Cheesy.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: February 12, 2023, 12:33:07 PM
Rugby doesn't exist for for me anymore, after that result. I'm going to need at least five days of not talking about rugby Cheesy. I guess everyone else was right, I still feel the penalties are our undoing despite losing by quite a decent margin. Oh, and also our bloody line outs. I don't think I've ever seen a team that's so consistently poor at line ups. How many times do we lose our put ins on a weekly basis? Seriously, within the first half I think we lost two or three.

We were doing okay too, we had good territory, and in the first half it was being played with the Scottish under pressure. However, we just don't seem to have that attacking flair. We just sort of go through the phases, and it's very flat. Anyway, I expect Italy to give a good game, but ultimately England will walk away with the win.
248  Other / Meta / Re: Good Initiative by Royse777! on: February 11, 2023, 05:46:49 PM
Please, report low quality posts too. It's all well, and good collecting a reward for this, but how we get to the bottom of it is removing the content from the forum, and potentially punishing any users that are posting absolute crap. I know reporting is a thankless task, but we really do appreciate it. I know the end result might not be want you want, and there sometimes might be disagreement, and unfortunately a lot of users care a lot about their percentage going down, but I'd rather you get 50% of the reports you made handled, than none at all.

Here is the part of your post that one detector says is even 93% fake.
For the most part; these detectors are awful, and can't be relied on. There's better one's out there, but still they're too inconsistent. Currently, I'm trying to wrap my own head around it, since I suspect this will continue to be a problem. I know chatGPT are coming out with their own version, which I'd assume will be much better at detecting it. However, I don't really want to rely on that if I can. Some of the texts are pretty easy to decipher, others can be difficult. Straight up identical copies as they're output from the AI itself, can be identified with a decent amount of certainty though. It's when they're changed it makes it difficult or sometimes the AI can be confused what you've asked it, and generate complete gibberish, those are obviously pretty easy to identify. At the moment, it's considering multiple factors, piecing those together, and then ultimately deciding whether it's AI generated or not.

249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 11, 2023, 05:41:07 PM
He could be the pie shitter.  But at least it's the first match of the event.  It's gonna be easy to set up another lottery ticket.
Honestly, I always find these the most frustrating. Since, you make a bet, maybe all you can afford to bet for the weekend, and then all that buzz, and excitement that comes with betting dies in the first fight. I hate it, and it's usually what happens to me. He's on my actual betting slip by the way, so I'd advise you change it Tongue.

I've actually put Makhachev on my betting slip, just because it was a little extra value; not much though obviously. Anyway, the reason being; I like Volk, and I'm actually rooting for him, but the disadvantages this guy has in physical size, and wrestling alone makes me nervous for him. However, the actual reason is because win or lose, I get something (unless the others on my betting slip mess up obviously). Either Volk wins, and I'm happy because that's who I'm supporting or Mak takes it, and makes me some money. Win, win right? I can almost guarantee you it won't get to that, as tokeweed said the very first fight will probably mess it up.
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: February 11, 2023, 04:40:37 PM
Irish vs the French was one of the best games we've seen in a long time. Although, that yellow card offense; I thought it was a easy red. I didn't really see the mitigation factor of most of the contact hitting the chest, I saw clear direct to the had, and the Irishman actually failed the head assessment, so obviously was concussed from it. You could argue that was from whiplash alone, but there's clear evidence of shoulder to head contact. Quite substantial too.

I imagine the fact that up to that point it was a fast paced, and even game probably factored into the decision. No one wants to ruin a game like that, but ultimately there's was clearly shoulder to head contact. Anyhow, I'm optimistic for the Welsh game, despite being pretty much written off by almost every rugby fan, including the bookies.
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: February 11, 2023, 11:17:05 AM
Italy with a handicap of +19.5+ is 1.90 at the moment. That's pretty damn good value for money. You could increase it to get 1.50 at +25.5. Again, not a bad value considering that they pushed France close the other week. They have been getting better recently. I'm not confident enough in putting a Wales handicap down, so will be leaving that off my accumulator, and the same goes for the Ireland game.

My predictions are Wales, Ireland, and England though.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: February 10, 2023, 09:30:08 PM
Wales will give Scotland a game. I mean, we weren't awful against Ireland for much of that game. Actually, it was pretty much our own doing. We conceded two tries very early on out of sheer stupidity, and then we continued to give away penalties. Seriously, the amount of penalties that we gave away was disgraceful.

Having said that; if we can eradicate those bloody penalties I see us doing well. We might not beat Scotland, but we won't be rolled over like a lot of users here will think. I think most fans are anticipating a one sided game, and that could well be true. It all depends on what Wales side turns up.

As for France vs Ireland. I'm going with Ireland, simply because I can't not support the fellow celtic nation, that'd be a crime. Especially, so in rugby. Italy, I mean I don't ever expect them to win games so, that goes without saying. Let's just say rugby doesn't tend to be their strong point. Although, someone's going to say it, so I might as well now; they've beaten us recently Tongue.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 10, 2023, 09:26:04 PM
Yes, I remember the reaction of a significant part of the fans who came out strongly against the Super League and I was extremely surprised by this. But only a little time has passed and I see from the sports forums that the mood has changed and many fans are now at least neutral about the Super League and extremely negative about bureaucratic rubbish from FIFA and UEFA.
As for the Premier League clubs, yes, many are against it, since the Premier League is already a kind of Super League, but now the financial crisis is coming in the Premier League and they will have to solve it either within their organization or within the Super League. I don't see a normal solution within UEFA.
That's a strange one, I'm still absolutely against a super league or any format of it. I don't care about lining the pockets of the rich, I care about football. That's literally what every fan wants, and of course they'll sell the idea by having the best play the best every week. However, that's what a league structure with promotion, and relegation is for. The original proposal they had where the founding clubs had special privileges, was absolutely disgraceful. Honestly, it should be illegal to be that money grabbing, and Liverpool was one of them. It's one of the reasons I'll never trust FSG again, despite them being pretty good for the club overall.

What was also annoying was these clubs laid off staff during Covid, and then was talking about a super bloody league to make more money, it was incredibly insensitive. The only saving grace for me is they changed their decision based on the backlash. If fans are now warming up to the idea, then that'll be the day that football dies, at least for me. I'll go back to rugby which has its own set of problems Tongue.
254  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Securing Your Seed Phrase with Washers on: February 10, 2023, 08:55:14 PM
Multiple backups is indeed the logical solution, but increases the risk of someone gaining access. I'm fairly certain I could just post my encrypted private keys on Bitcointalk as a backup, but I wouldn't dare do that. After many years in Bitcoin, the compromise between keeping access by myself and having someone else gain access still feels uncomfortable.
Yeah, I haven't got too many backups myself. I do have backups, but I'm comfortable with the level of backups, and I think that's the whole point of this discussion. Do what makes you feel comfortable, even though a lot of it will likely be overkill. However, to feel comfortable, I'd absolutely recommend going through the painful experience of securing your wallets. I know the pain, I've delved into security a few times in the past, and even my routine new computer setup has now reached like stupid levels of complexity, which is very likely considered impractical to a lot of users, and quite frankly not needed. However, I do it because that's what makes me feel comfortable.

Like I said though, I'm currently in the process of doing something similar to the OP with other things that aren't Bitcoin related, and I say currently very loosely, because it's very long process.
255  Economy / Reputation / Re: Stake.com (SteveStake) is encouraging spam. on: February 10, 2023, 08:00:49 PM
Well, lets have an example if a person posts few posts a week and they are mostly spam posts and then there is another person who post 50+ posts in a week but all of them are good ones, then whom we will think is spam poster?
I think the quantity of posts have nothing to do with the quality of posts. Some persons may have a lot of time to write a lot of constructive posts throughout the week.
You're right, don't get me wrong. However, the more a user is posting, generally means that each post will be of less quality, especially if they're looking to meet a target. However, that's not always the case. I remember quite a few users that were massively active in posting, and one of them is a global moderator now; hilariousandco. While, I don't know how much they were posting at their peak, they were posting quite frequently compared to others, and their quality didn't really dip as a result. So, it can be done.

There's a few examples of this though, even to this present day. I've also gone through periods where I'm much more active, for example the last few years have been absolutely crazy in terms of sucking up my time, and I think it was the back of Covid. Only now, I've starting to get my free time again.

I use this from time to time just to monitor certain things from a moderation stand point. However, that'll give you an idea of the posters that are posting a rather large amount, and their quality. For the most part, I'd say it's pretty decent, and there's some recognisable names there.

Obviously, thanks for Loyce for creating these things for the community, probably something they think of; but, these sorts of tools can be useful for moderation from time to time.
256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 10, 2023, 07:56:10 PM
Was there some mid week games I forgot to put down a prediction? Honestly, this season I'm absolutely all over the place Tongue. This is probably the least amount of football I've watch in the last five years. Liverpool going through a rough time has probably contributed to that.

Chelsea, like Liverpool and 80% of English clubs, is owned by Americans. Btw, not all Saudis waste their money, and Newcastle united is a prime example.
Most of the teams invest pretty smartly I think. Newcastle have invested alright so far, but I don't think they've had much chance to splurge yet. I'm sure that's coming in the summer though. Liverpool's transfer strategy has worked pretty well for them, I mean just look at the Coutinho situation, him being sold probably led to us winning our first Premier League title in twenty years. Even though, he was my favourite player at that time, in hindsight I'm glad he went, but it's a shame that his career has somewhat stagnated as a result.

Chelsea also have a pretty decent strategy. I mean most of their signings are youth players that they put out on loan as you probably know, but they get some pretty decent talent when they fully mature, and if they don't they sell on for a profit.
257  Other / Meta / Re: More information about forum on: February 10, 2023, 07:48:33 PM
Half of the forum is doing this; if you act like this, don't complain later that your posts will be deleted; you will be marked as a spammer, and eventually, you will start getting temporary bans step by step, which will eventually lead to a permanent ban.
Ask yourself, "Do you like to chew what a cow spits out?" To make it more straightforward. Cows are ruminants, and they periodically spit out their food and chew again. It is with this that all answers in some branches can be compared when users paraphrase the answers of others and pass them off as their own.
Probably a slight exaggeration, but you've obviously found a lot of the users that were abusing this technique, it's a difficult one to moderate because unless it's reported or even obvious to the reporters it often goes unnoticed by the moderators as well as the users themselves. Unless, it's written in a specific way, it can be quite difficult to ping. Especially, when they're only quoting a certain amount of the original source, as it appears less official that way, and doesn't get he alarm bells ringing.

Although, I do think most users sooner, rather than later get punished for plagiarism, it just takes time. I will say though, we appreciate your efforts in reporting those that do plagiarism, it helps clear up the forum massively.
258  Economy / Reputation / Re: Stake.com (SteveStake) is encouraging spam. on: February 10, 2023, 06:54:43 PM
I've got mixed feelings about that campaign. On the one hand I think indeed incentivizes participants to make a lot of low quality posts, and I have seen some who write poor posts. But on the other hand, I have seen some pretty decent participants. The other day I checked that one I see quite a bit had written about 70 posts over the week and to me they are of decent quality.

We don't know if that person doesn't have a main job, for example. If I didn't have a main job I think I could easily write 100 posts or more a week.
I don't necessarily have any issues with the guidelines that they've put out, since most of those users shouldn't be reaching that amount of posts every week. However, the problem is that there's some pretty poor quality users in the campaign, as there's in a lot of the signature campaigns. So, I don't think it's specifically a Stake problem, except that their guidelines do encourage low quality spammers, but it's up to the manager to actually vet the applications, and get those types of users out of the campaign, and reject any future low quality posters.

One hundred posts isn't all that much, and if you haven't got a traditional job then you probably would find that easy, and I imagine there's a few users in that position. As I said, as long as their posts are constructive I don't really have a problem with it.
259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 10, 2023, 06:50:18 PM
Anyway, let's get to my predictions for the up, and coming event:

Alexander Volkanovski
Yair Rodriguez
Jack Della Maddalena
Parker Porter
Jimmy Crute
Tyson Pedro
Joshua Culibao
Kleydson Rodrigues
Jamie Mullarkey
Jack Jenkins
Loma Lookboonmee
Blake Bilder
Zubaira Tukhugov

Looks like a good event to me, looking forward to both Mullarkey's fight, and Maddalena's. I'm quite confident on the Yair Rodriguez pick, I feel he just has the edge. Culibao, I'm a little worried about, but I do give him a slight edge, and it does seem like most bookies are also giving him the slight edge. I probably won't be betting much on this one or I'll try to keep my accumulator quite short.
260  Economy / Reputation / Re: Stake.com (SteveStake) is encouraging spam. on: February 10, 2023, 11:42:59 AM
Interesting, indeed. With their current pay rates and limits, you need to write 95 posts per week to get the max. payout as a Legendary member and 125 as a Hero member. That's quite a lot. I personally find it hard to even find just 50 interesting topics per week where I can post a constructive answer / new thread or guide.
I guess at least it's gone down a bit from the 200 posts per week cap in OP.. Cheesy
I wouldn't doubt that you can churn out around 100 posts a week, and keep them substantial enough though. Only a few select users can do that though, and I'd prefer if Stake only hired some of the best users, and got rid of the ones which clearly aren't up to standard. Not just Stake though, I wish more signature campaigns had a higher threshold. You know, something akin to what companies do today with sustainability, they use it as a way of marketing themselves. Now, it kind of does my heading in, but I'll be honest seeing a signature campaign actually trying to look after the forum; I'd have respect for that. Especially, since campaign managers check every post, supposedly. I kind of wish they reported the one's they think aren't up to standard.

Alright, I know sometimes you can get that in between where they won't pay for it, and technically it doesn't break the forum rules as it might be substantial enough. However, I know there's cases where they are breaking forum rules, since I've seen it myself, and I'm not the poor sod that has to clean it up. Hilarious, globals, and those that moderate the main sections are.

I think this would be akin to saying janitors get paid so you might as well piss all over the floor and smear shit on the walls because that's what they get paid to deal with. In fact, I would look at it like someone is actively paying people to go around flinging shit and piss everywhere which obviously shouldn't be allowed. Sig spam should be the campaign managers job not left for mods to clean up the mess for free. Mods don't get paid unless the posts are reported and there's plenty of reports to handle without having to deal with sig spam and most sig spam isn't reported in the first place because there's so much of it and there's not much benefit to people reporting in the first place. IT would be a full time job in of itself if you were to take on the task of reporting the sig spam.
Right. Absolutely, spot on. I'd love to fix the current reporting issue. I've said it before, but I'm really hoping the badges get implemented, but in such a way that users don't just max out their reports in a week or month or even a year to get them.
