I highly doubt he would take that route, or even learn from every fight from that thick numb skull of his surely my first impression of Paulo Costa on the 1st time seeing him fighting Adesanya I have said that Israel Adesanya will have a hard time from him, but because Costa is not that technical, Adesanya has gone through him with ease, while Costa lacking a ground game doesn't have any option if his brawling technique failed, and that is all he have the Brawling technique,
Yeah, I was so nervous for Izzy on that fight. I thought Costa was going to pressure him, and basically stick to him like glue. Obviously, that's not what happened. It was a weird fight, it was almost like Costa didn't have a way of entry, and then just sat at range, which is not something you do with Izzy. Alex might be able to, and to an extent Whittaker, but no one else in the division wants to be a sitting duck in front of Izzy.

I do think Costa needs to mature a little, if he matures, and actually learns from his mistakes he could be a real problem in the division for basically anyone. Him, and Vettori is a good match up due to both being pressure fighters.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 07, 2022, 11:07:11 PM
What a lot of people are forgetting is Silva's wins were within a year or two which means despite him ageing he's still won some fights, and I do believe he was the underdog in at least one of those. Obviously, he's lost before in boxing, but that doesn't really mean much since Jake as a young career also.

Jake has fought some rather lack luster opponents at the very start. Woodley being a decent opponent, but he can only fight what's put in front of him. I think Silva surprises everyone, although I still think Jake takes it, and with the bookies pricing it for Silva to be the favourite, Jake looks like a tasty bet to make...if only I could watch it while travelling.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 07, 2022, 11:04:08 PM
It is quite surprising that Usyk had avoided fury, but this Fury - Joshua fight is indeed very interesting.  This had been long overdue and I hope both the fighter will come to terms and schedule their fight.  Fury might have an advantage in this fight but I am hoping that Joshua win's the fight.
It is simple, Joshua doesn't want to look like a clown on social media.  Remember he lost back to back to Usyk, so claiming he will beat Fury will possibly become a laughing stock on social media until proven.
I take any talk online as gospel, and with a huge pinch of salt. So, I doubt they'll avoid each other personally it'll be their promotions if anyone. They'll want to setup a cash cow, but the only problem with mega fights is they derail one of the fighters careers, unless you can make a massive rematch or trilogy out of it. However, I don't think the two fighters are close enough in terms of ability that it'll be close, and therefore after the first fight a lot of interest will be lost.

Usyk has only recently really got his career rolling in the Heavyweight division so his promotion will want to keep milking that cow, and they'll avoid any risky fights in my opinion. Fury obviously is at the tail end of his career, and probably just wants to mop up the rest of the division, and be the undisputed best fighter of his era.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 07, 2022, 10:58:08 PM
Still at works, lots of things to iron out, they are domestic rivals including their promotions, Matchroom by Hearn (AJ) and Queensberry Promotions by Frank Warren (Fury).
No doubt, both promotions know there's a lot of money riding on this, and I imagine Hearne is going to be pushing for a 50/50 split rather than taking the smaller purse. I imagine it's going to take...in typical boxing fashion a few months to sort this out, while both fighters are ageing. There will probably be issues with securing a venue, all of the normal excuses you have when it comes to these two fighters.

I also see them selling out, and going to Dubai to host it. They'll want the money, and the UK side of things can't compete with that, which will be a huge shame for British fans wanting to see these two fight in their home turfs.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 07, 2022, 10:53:42 PM
Problem is that mma doesn't exactly crossover to boxing.  Not only is Silva too old boxing wasn't his sport to begin with.  Not sure what people are exactly expecting out of him.  Should be another great boxing match.  Roll Eyes
Anderson has already had like 3/4 bouts, and beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, which I do recall he was a heavy underdog in the fight. Also beat Tito Ortiz, and both of these were like a year or so ago. So, arguably he has the same experience that Jake Paul has, but in additional also has MMA experience. So, this isn't a boxer vs a MMA guy, at least not completely. Silva made his bread, and butter in MMA, but he's had a decent boxing career, albeit only a short one.

Jake Paul technically is fighting someone who has fought in boxing before, whereas before they hadn't.
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spreading Bitcoin and its basic concept on: September 07, 2022, 09:55:24 PM
I love the initiative recently, but for the love of god don't go down the route of telling people why Bitcoin is great. Simply show them what you can do, and the benefits of doing it, but don't tell them they need it. It's not for everyone, not in it's current implementation or state, and it almost becomes a little preachy when you come across as telling them why something's so great, and what they're missing out on.

I find it a lot, spreading information is all well, and good or teaching someone something, but if it isn't being told or taught the right way, it can actually be detrimental. Make sure you know your stuff, and you go about it the right way.
1047  Other / Meta / Re: What's minor thing that you find appreciative on Bitcointalk? on: September 07, 2022, 09:51:46 PM
I like how bloody simple it is. If you want to change things on your end, i.e user interface CSS/UserScripts it's fairly straight forward. However, it also doesn't change, whereas plenty of other forums change their software every other week, which ends up breaking things you might've added. I don't actually participate in other forums, only for question usually, and then I leave. So, Bitcointalk just does it right.

Plus, while our community can seem divided at times, we do sort of pull together for the big things, for example the Bitcointalk Discord (which I should probably poke my head into), and things like the 10th anniversary, while these events do bring drama obviously with a community this big, it was generally a good atmosphere around them.

Also, this goes for the first point, but the lack of white space. Do you know how much I hate white space? Seriously, why has modern demands made it harder for me to find content, and instead spend my time scrolling a lot more. I generally use older laptops or computers which don't use much energy due to travelling a fair amount, and therefore I have smaller screens, and lower resolutions so some sites can be an absolute nightmare to actually browse.

Finally, lack of Javascript requirement. Bloody hate when sites inject javascript when it's not needed. Usually, the fancy things up. Function over fashion is the way to go.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 07, 2022, 09:45:53 PM
I'm not doing great, but on the other hand I'm already doing better than last year....so result? I'm probably going to learn my lesson, and actually predict Liverpool to draw, and lose from now on, however I had a decent week last week, and find myself roughly mid table. I can live with that. I'm starting to get a feel for the forms of teams. Arsenal, Man City looking the early title contenders to me, which I'm definitely surprised by Arsenal. Nice to see though. Tottenham, and Chelsea are looking something between poor, and mediocre.

What I'm afraid of is Man City winning the league super early, and then it just takes the fun out of it. I'd much rather a competitive league, where it goes down to the wire. There's more drama, and fun to be had.

I'm not that good with SuperBru, how can I see the previous round's high/low scores? I noticed hilarious had the wooden spoon, but I wasn't going to rub it in, honest Wink.
1049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 07, 2022, 09:40:53 PM
I'd prefer Tommy Fury, but honestly I feel like Tommy's trying to get free publicity rather than actually wanting that fight. I see him as a reality star more than a boxer, and I think the Fury family somewhat sees it the same way.

Anyway, Anderson Silva is a real test despite not being a proper boxer. He's got the skills, and evasiveness, maybe not so much these days, but it's a risky fight for Jake. You'd expect Jake to win, and I imagine the odds would reflect that, but if he doesn't then he's been up staged by a ageing MMA veteran.

I'd be absolutely shocked if he manages to make easy work of him on the other hand, so I don't think this is a easy fight. Unlike his previous fights, Anderson isn't gun shy, and knows how to box. So, we'll see some activity. I said in another thread though, I bloody hope he doesn't knock Silva out, as I'd be devastated.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 07, 2022, 09:37:41 PM
As much as I'd like to see it, I think Whittaker takes that pretty easily. I imagine he goes with the similar approach Izzy did. Obviously, Costa should've learned something from that fight so maybe he'll have an answer for it this time. Since, with Izzy he pretty much froze, and then received a beat down. Unfortunately, Izzy has made that into a joke now, which isn't very funny, but I imagine has Costa seething at the teeth.

Costa has the skills, and framework to become a real problem he just needs to throw some of that mass around, and go for the take downs more in my opinion. Anyway, I'm going to try, and get my predictions out early tomorrow.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul v Anderson Silva [rumours been confirmed] on: September 07, 2022, 09:34:54 PM
Yeah, the annoying part I wanted to watch this fight, but I'm away for it. Bugger. I won't be able to watch highlights until I get back either which is give or take a week later. I don't think that'll be a problem though, since I won't have any news access, and the dust should've settled by the time I'm back online.

I won't be betting on the fight simply for that reason, but I fancy Jake here despite Anderson being the best opponent yet, in my humble opinion. Think he'll shock a few of the boxing purists of his skill, and he'll get a decent pay day too which is refreshing to see after all those years in the UFC.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 07, 2022, 09:32:10 PM
Fury every day of the week, and twice on sunday! (Yes, I'm paraphrasing Fury there). Honestly, I think there's a massive difference between the two, and while I definitely want to see it, that's only to confirm it in reality rather than in my mind, that Fury is the best thing to come out of the UK boxing scene in a very long time. Especially heavyweight.

Joshua probably gets one last big pay out after this fight, and it'll likely be Wilder. Then I see him either retiring himself or continuing to fight the Chisora's of the division. Hearne will want to milk the cow as much as he can after these fights.

Also, it'll be nice to see these two fight in the UK for once. They've fought overseas far too many times.

That's just a drop in the ocean Cheesy.

That Amulet is spamming mindlessly everything, from bitcoin discussion to meta and local boards.
I keep reporting them but I wish a mod would add some keywords into a script and just remove automatically those posts, especially if they're not in altcoin discussion/announements areas.
We do have something like that, run by Mitchell I believe. Although, it does have some limitations, and things only really get added to it once we've become aware of them, and let Mitchell know.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 05, 2022, 08:29:40 AM
Gane deserved the win, I'm not going to dispute that. However, many of us probably thought Gane was going to outclass Tai more than he did. That was a close fight. The only difference maker for me was the jab by Gane which was superb, but the real game changer was those front kicks to the body. Tai got hurt maybe five or six times with those, and as soon as that happened, he was dropping the hands. It was quite obvious for everyone watching he wasn't going to be able to continue to take those, and Gane knew it too.

So, it was the beginning of the end from that point onwards, but Tai still hurt Gane, and even if you take out that overhand, he was touching Gane much more than I thought going into the fight. The thing is, I don't think either of these fighters will win against Ngannou, especially since there's holes in both mens game.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul v Anderson Silva [rumours] on: September 04, 2022, 11:42:08 AM
I don't think these are rumors.  It seems to be a legitimate fight with contracts already signed.  It might not be the most exciting fight watching a punk kid fight an old legend.  It's as close as they could get to Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson though, so at least they're trying to maintain some entertainment.  I wonder how long Logan will be wrestling for until he gets back in the boxing ring.
Anderson Silva also received his boxing license from the commission, so it's very likely he's fighting Jake Paul. I'm quite excited about it, people aren't giving Anderson enough credit. He's already boxed successfully.

As for Logan Paul, I think the money is currently in the wrestling for him. However, I know KSI is back to boxing so I think that's pushing Logan to actually do something too. I'm not sure who Logan would fight though, potentially one of Jake Paul's opponents, and then maybe we'll see the difference between the two.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 04, 2022, 11:38:34 AM
Tai really showed he belonged there, I know he's been doubted his whole career pretty much, but he very nearly knocked out Gane himself. Obviously, he didn't like those body shots, and that was the beginning of the end. You could see it, he dropped his hands, and was on his last legs after taking a couple more in the third round. If he can learn from that, and protect that midsection or strengthen it somewhat, I'd actually fancy him against Gane next time. Gane was good obviously, but I was more impressed with Tai.

Also, Nathanial Wood was awesome, fair play to him. Vettori pretty much got outclassed, and it does seem like Izzy, and Whittaker are in a division of their own, since there's no one else really competing.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 03, 2022, 01:51:39 PM
I really like the underdog picks.  I'd include Buckley and Wood in there too.  Lol.  But yeah I avoided making my lottery ticket as this card smells like pie shitter everywhere.  And I'm kinda lazy doing it if I'm not betting it.  I just have a small bet on the over 2.5 for the main event and Gane to win at R4 and same bet at R5.  The line on Vettori is tempting but I'll just pass and save it for the next event.
Yeah, Buckley I'd be tempted, but you never know what version you're going to get with him. He's looked brilliant, practically knocking out everything in front of him, and then sometimes he just looks out of ideas.

Interesting that you think Tai will survive past the third at least too. I nearly made a bet where Gane wins via decision. I'm just not sure I should pull the trigger on it. Tai leaves himself open, but personally I don't see Gane as a killer, and I think he'll be hesitant knowing Tai loves a dog fight.
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 03, 2022, 12:36:09 PM
What's wrong with Klopp's boys?  Seems like they're playing like they're against Man United or something.  I didn't think this derby would be very intense but it is rn.  Cheesy  And what's the matter with the ref?  There's like a couple of fouls on Liverpool that didn't get a call..  There should've been a free kick for Everton around the 20th minute.

Edit:  Omg...  Everton might get a goal in with how the match is playing out.  :/  Not good for me.
At this rate, three's going to be multiple injuries. That's the problem with letting the game run, it basically gets harder, and harder until the ref puts his foot down. Now we've already got one injury with Fabio. As for our performances, I know we've got injuries, but we should be performing better than we're. So, honestly I'm really not sure why we just aren't up to our usual standards. I was quite excited about that young midfield, but I guess in a physical game like derby you want more robust players than Fabio, and Elliott, although the latter of the two is having a decent game.

I feel like we're missing Robertson in this game, and obviously Thiago for unlocking defenses.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 03, 2022, 09:55:37 AM
Tomorrow my parlay will be like 90% completed if Ciryl Gane dominates Tui. I just went ML because I want to keep it safe. If Ciryl Gane will continue to fight smart, Tui might get tired in the championship rounds. So it is either a gassed-out Tui gets stopped in the championship rounds or his toughness will be able to help him finish the fight but will lose on the scorecards.

The last remaining bet will be Chimaev taking his lamb. Cheesy I would have added Whittaker on my parlay but I want Vettori to win. Because I don't want to see a trilogy between Whittaker and Adesanya. Oh, wait! Pereira will beat Adesanya. Cheesy
I'd say there's a very good chance. However, considering the odds are only 1.18 for Gane, it might be worth cashing out if you're being offered a decent amount. The amount of times a massive favourite has shit the bed (for a lack of a better term), and caused me a few k has been far too often in my opinion.

Obviously, up to you I don't want you to be angry if he does end up winning Tongue, since that's probably the most likely outcome, and most users here agree on that.
1060  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could drop to $10,000 by 2023 as the Fed normalizes interest rate policy on: September 03, 2022, 09:52:08 AM
It's funny you should say that because it does have an effect. The recession is largely caused by monetary policy to combat inflation. What the Fed and other central banks are doing now is reducing the money available. With less money available, people have less money in general, and with less money in general, if they have to choose between spending less money to invest or buying bitcoin, and meeting their basic needs, they choose the latter. In more serious cases of needing money, people sell what they have of value, such as bitcoin, gold, shares or whatever, to cover their needs, as you said.

So in reality the Fed's policy does affect the price of bitcoin because it is largely responsible for the recession.
Yeah, I would agree with most of that. The recession is going to be the biggest contributor to the downward fall of Bitcoin. However, that fall isn't exclusive to Bitcoin. Businesses, stocks or anything not deemed essential to live will go down. They'll start recovering once people are handling their money better or we're coping with the recession a little more, since their buying power will increase, and therefore they'll have money for something else other than the bare essentials.

However, Bitcoin does differ slightly due to its deflationary, and a currency. So, people might take the risk because they're sick, and tired of being caught up in a recession every couple of years. Obviously, that's not including those that can't afford to live, but those that are probably described as middle class.
