for PPLNS, you are missing one important piece of info: How often you mine?

if you mine close to 24/7, and still are seeing 1/2, switch pools. If you hop around pools a lot, or mine infrequently, that might be the cause.

I've only been mining for about 12 hrs. I was basing things on the current rate. So you are saying I need to stay on the pool for extended periods to see the actual rate of return?

Read about PPLNS here: http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com/about

12 hours should see you starting to get the correct amount/block easy.

How much are you seeing per block right now, and how often is a block found at that pool on average?

Looks like every 17 minutes is a new block or new round. I am getting .77 per payout. I was getting as high as .97 per payout but a few hours ago I thought something was wrong and tried to restart, so I guess that hurt me.

More information is need than: HELP! Only getting 1/2 coins...

What is your hashrate?
what pool?
How often you mine?
What do you expect?
What are you getting?

I might have stayed at a holiday inn express alst night, but I am still not a psychic.

Pool for me is Ub3rl33t. Hash rate is 1600 KH/s. Expecting about 70 FTC per day, getting about 30 FTC per day.

Any PPS pools?

PPNLS are awful and giving me nowhere near what i should

like, a fucking order of magnitude lower than i should, @ fc.dontmine.me

http://fc.ltcoin.net/
weird, even here i get about 1/2th of what mining calculators say i should get.. (120/day with 2600khash)

nm, just seems to be fluctuations.

Having the same problem. Does anyone know why we are getting half the coins estimated? Even the mining pool estimator has me bringing in twice the coin.
1765  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 3 x Sapphire 7950 Rig Crash - High Temperatures - Reward for Help on: May 01, 2013, 12:28:30 AM
I'm all for the initial statement about the cards heating the others. Usually the top card will be fine but the second and third cards are not as open to the air. I have a full-sized room fan blowing on my cards for now and the top card is keeping the bottom card at 80-84C. Top card sits at 75C. Without that top card running the bottom runs at 75C because that top card is dumping its heat right on the backside of it.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7970 slows down and eventually turns off on: May 01, 2013, 12:22:29 AM
I have this issue when either my card over-heats or my cgminer crashes due to a driver crash. If you have your display card working hard and then ask it to do some display rendering it can crash. It will then slowly run down.

I also found that the top card blows heat onto the second card and overheats it. try to get better airflow. Catalyst CC seems to only display the temperature of one GPU so it may look OK. Although you may be using the CGminer in prompt.

Someone needs to slow down the difficulty increase. I have four cards, two of which I haven't even been able to use yet because of how long it takes to get risers - had them for a week. At this point, four cards won't do what two would do when I ordered the first two and I have only been running two cards for a week since the difficulty was 230-290, which was about 3 weeks ago. Its insane.

If you decide to get into mining make sure you have everything you need as soon as you get your cards - if you are going to run 4 cards, buy a MB with 4 PCI-e. Risers will take 2-4 weeks. Make sure rush deliver your cards, it will be worth it. and get them mining as soon as you get them. I have only mined about 20 LTC in 3 weeks when I should have at least 40 or more - I've got 4x7950s. I spent a chunk of change and have missed out on the opportunity to fully utilize what I had. Don't make the same mistake as me.
1768  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which one of these mobos is best to run 5 7970s? on: April 28, 2013, 08:22:24 PM
You could go with the ASRock FM2A85x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157339 - it has 3 Pci-e 16x and 2 powered 1x PCI-e.

One of my cards keeps crashing. I have all the default settings applied and after a bit of runtime cgminer scrypt within GuiMiner stops working for one of my cards. I recently started seeing extremely high temps - 100C - I heard my fan going insane and I shut it down. There is plenty of ventilation, I have good power supplies running these cards. I know know this isn't a lot of information but would a bad card cause cgminer to crash or is there possibly something else going on?

what brand card is it? I had some PowerColor HD7950s that would reach some pretty crazy high temps. I have since gotten rid of them.

They are Sapphires - the OC. I have two reference Sapphires I have not hooked up yet so maybe I will replace one and see what happens.

If I put one card in it gets so hot I can't touch it. If I put two cards in only one of them overheats. It makes no sense.

Oh, and I didn't have any problem when I first put two cards in after using an additional psu. It does matter which of the three cards I've used - they will overheat.

1771  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone tested the Intel HD Graphics on: April 22, 2013, 08:37:32 AM
If you are talking about integrated graphics it probably isn't worth it - you might get 20-40 kH/s - if that. But I'm no expert in it.
1772  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Power supply for 2x 7950? on: April 22, 2013, 08:36:26 AM
Just buy another 80+ gold 650W and daisy chain them - it will be cheaper. Put the extra money toward another card.

Before anyone asks, it runs those settings 24/7. i forgot to take the SS before restarting cgminer.  Roll Eyes

wow, that is special. You are doing 680kH/s at 68C... I've got to play with my settings some more.

I think I am having a problem trying to run 2x7950s on a Corsair 650W 80+ Bronze. i can run them but not at max. What happens is that one of the cards runs out - it keeps trying to suck more and more power and heats up past 90C and shuts off. Others have noted this.

I am currently running the two at only 430 kH/s until my 1000W Platinum comes in. I think at max draw the 7950 takes 200W.
1775  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How do I only have cgminer use 1 gpu? on: April 21, 2013, 02:57:46 AM
Set its intensity to 0 or disable it. --disable-gpu

Sweet!! Got my 7950s running at 650 Kh/s. That is maxed-out though. It starts warming up a little over 80 C. Gonna have to bring it down some, if I can settle in at just over 620 would be nice.

I built recently 4x7950. Mining on full speed(gpu 1100 mem 1400) takes more than 1400W. 160W while idle.

Jeebus! Are you serious? From the wall?

cut back on clocks, improve circulation and if on cgminer --auto-gpu and --auto-fan

One of my cards is getting up to 90 C... how can I bring the temps down?

- give the PC a cooler environment
- give the GPU more airflow
- lower voltage/core speed
- lower intensity

Thanks to both of you, I will try this when I get home.

I checked the temp on my other card, it is hovering at around 55-60C. I just put the second card in and it is the one which is working fine. The one I had in which was working fine is overheating. I tried adjusting the voltage with Trixx but no go. I don't think it is a ventilation issue and it was mining fine at this intensity prior to putting the other card in. I am wondering if it isn't a current problem with my PSU. I only have a corsair 650 80plus bronze.
