Everybody pounding that buy button i assume? also quiet suddely..

That seems to be how it works on BTCT. There will be a bunch of trades for one stock, then the next, then the next, until it comes back around, and then it starts all over again. Its like someone is trading in circles.

There has not yet arrived a professional ASIC company yet, well.. maybe ASICMiner.

Anyway, it's obviously not good that TheSweed wasn't able to get a hold of him. What we need is a regular schedule for when we'll get updates.  And not "sometime next week" but "we'll get a report every Thursday at 8PM CDT"
Yes. How can he not "get a hold of Sam"? Makes no sense. He obviously talked to them about providing an update "early this week". They knew what was going down, TheSwede is their PR guy.

Communication is hard these days.  He is halfway across the world.
Can't wait until the internet and mobile phones are invented. I keep seeing stories about them in my Weekly Readers.

It's kind of amazing to see millions of dollars worth of value disappear based on a forum comment. You can see why CEOs and so on in "the real world" are highly limited in terms of what they can say about their companies.

Haha, +1

Millions didn't disappear. I won't defend LC for missing dates - this is a bad sign. However, let's be realistic - less than 1400 BTC have been traded in the last 24 hours. 32K shares isn't that big of a deal.

My gratitude to those that freaked out and sold - I'll be happy to hold onto your shares.
The smart thing to do is to sell and buy low. Its silly to not take advantage of the situation and sit there holding a bag with a dead cat in it.

I just wanted to stop by and say that I have not been able to talk to Sam today. I do realize that "next week" is here and as soon as I have anything to report I will. I realize a "nothing to report yet" report is just that, but as soon as I hear anything it will be posted here and on BTCT.CO news section.
How the hell do you wait all damn day while everyone is watching and waiting and then come in here at night (or after US Business hours, anyway) and say "uhh... I ain't got nothing"? Seriously, dude, that is totally fucked.
1327  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 28, 2013, 01:55:30 AM
I go to make something to eat, come back 20 minutes later and the stock tanks. You have to watch this shit 24/7 because there is no way to set a sell that triggers when the share price hits.
1328  Economy / Securities / Re: ActiveMining Overview and Speculation Thread on: August 27, 2013, 11:45:06 PM
Wouldn't it be CRAZY if ActM released a video like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQY3Y8shBY8

 Shocked
Who in their right mind would still be using CRT monitors? The electricity costs alone justify the switch to LCD at least.
1329  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 27, 2013, 11:16:29 PM
Early this week must have meant Wednesday....
1330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 27, 2013, 05:59:05 PM
The small guy can mine and profit but he needs to get his miner on time, not two weeks too late - even two weeks is the difference between profitability and not as I posted earlier. The difficulty rise will level out at some point in another year as the ASIC tech present limiting returns. They will become cheaper and people will be purchasing them like they did gpus.
1331  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 27, 2013, 04:22:32 AM
There is so much buy support it makes me wonder why so many are selling at .0037 and not pulling higher.

In related news... It appears that there have been a couple very large bitcoin purchases on MT. Gox in the last 24 hours (one being about 1 million). One could hope that is ahead of some good news coming.

Like? BitInstant will reopen and we can begin arbitrage?

likely regulation to keep businesses like terrahash accountable.

Haha. The Fed, FBI, Treasury, SS, etc. was there - oh man, they are scared shitless. I'm racking up 1000 BTC and heading to south america. Pay my $450 US membership cancellation fee and I'm out.

It could also hit a dead zone for a while like ActM has after peaking at around .009.
1335  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 27, 2013, 01:52:17 AM
And if the first run doesn't work as expected (ala BFL power issues...) what then?

All I'm saying is that people seem to be going all in, when there may just be a smaller upside and a bigger downside then being foretold here.
Could be. It could be a total scam like these rice-cakes in here have been claiming.

$180?  I wipe my ass with $180...  Cheesy  That's practically nothing.
If he made that everyday it would be equivalent to a $50-$60,000 salary before taxes.

But he won't, because news is coming soon and there won't be a chance to sell for a $180 gain between .0035 and .0036.  Short term gains like this only make sense without an expected jump.  I bet you were that newb.  Thank you kind sir.

Honestly not trying to spread FUD, but do you really think upcoming news is going to spike the stock?  They are going to receive MAYBE 6TH in chips, which an unknown amount has already been sold via private sales. This will translate into x (single digit) TH and mining divs measured in the satoshi's.  IMO the stock is as high as it's going to get until maybe a week before the 50TH comes online.  And even then the Network TH might be so high as to make the 50TH a joke.  Most likely we will just steadily decline for the next month.

I want Labcoin to succeed, I just don't see it spiking up from here.
Its going to confirm that Labcoin is on track with their business plan, plus there is anticipation in the market, so yeah.

Wasn't me. I am not going to pull moves like that in a time like this. I will do it right after the jump - if I am not at work again like last time. I can't even afford 17,000 shares at the moment. Trying to work my way back up to 5000 shares which I had before I sold prematurely at .0018 to get a piece of ActM.

My lord, I'm just now approaching a return on my 2400kh I bought 3-4 months ago. No way I can purchase another rig let alone one that massive. The more you spend upfront, the better with mining it seems.

3-4 months is a great ROI. There aren't many businesses that you can make back your investment in 3-4 months. There are many other factors that go into that, most important is power, and I'm fortunate to be very close to some of the cheapest power in the US. There are cheaper places, but that is the difference in becoming a large operation that can turn a profit in the short term.

Plus, if it goes bust earlier than expected, I can make back at least 30% of the equipment cost, unlike ASICs. That said, to become a large scale GPU farm, you need massive amounts of cheap power, and the ability to cool it. If only I started this 3 years ago...

problem is terrahash is looking like they are 2 months-ish away (IMHO) from even getting the development aspect of things squared away.
Lets just hope the rest of the asic manufacturers also fail to deliver on time so that the impact of the delays are muted... starting up then with 30%~45% increase in difficulties will double your ROI estimates.
Depending on how many units you purchased you will not get your money back on the Klondike (Avalon 1st gen) - that boat sailed about 15 to 30 days ago. I figured from the calculator that factors in diff increase that even 1 month was the difference between return + profit and not even making your money back. 1 month was all it took to either make $1400 or $530 on a K64 at 18 GH/s (Lifetime of the board - i.e., until it started costing more to run than it made).

I also have relatively cheap power but I am going to sell mine now. I think I can get back about 75% of my startup costs and can make more through investing with that than I ever could continuing to mine over the same time period. When I came into mining it was only going to take 1 month to get my return cause LTC was at about $4 and diff was low. Didn't work out that way cause it took me a month before I could get my cards all working together.
